Couldnt find it today - lots of trees down in the area, and didnt fancy a scramble over them Found the skeleton of some small animal though!
Cache found while hiking the Benmore Peninsular Track. This magnificent trail offers breathtaking views of Mount Cook in the background and the landscapes.Everything is really beautiful here. This one is really perched .. Thank you drawp for the cache and the discovery of this magical place
JD found it. He likes to say, " see dear you have to stick with the experienced" , . He actually climbed up to get this as my sandals have no grip and my legs are way shorter than his.We biked a total of 9km today. But we didn't set off until 4:30pm. Thanks for the adventure.
Today we walked two trails one around the golf course and the other around the Benmore Peninsular. Both lovely walks. Approached GZ and a little confused by the hint wait was evident we had to scramble up - cache found quickly at GZTFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Nice quick find once I realised the GPS was misbehaving. Must be having difficulty waking up this morning...TFTC!
Mrs KC and I rode from the Benmore dam parking place to Sailors Cutiing. The deal was that Mrs KC would take pix on the way out and I would cache on the way back. This was my first find, after some DNFs so I was very pleased.TNLN. TFTC.
Bit of a scramble but easy find overall, this seems to be a very cache dense area!
Quick find thankfully. Doing the track section I didn't get from Sailors Cutting yesterday. On foot.
Last one for us on the loop track. We didn't have time to look for them all so we will be back one day. TFTC.
Day 2 of our A2O odyssey. A short day, Omarama to Otematata due to the number of caches that needed to be found. The only one for us in this series. A short walk and scramble from the bike track. Plenty of work being done reducing the number of wilding pines.

Not sure if we are supposed to be here as lots of trees and branches on path.
Lets see, this was easy find as soon as we orientaded the rock

You can see the track heading up the slope but slash currently locks it resulting in a bit of a scramble. Cache is nice and safe in its hidaway. Thanks for placing.
#19316. Bit of a scramble to get on to the side track (as a fallen tree was blocking the path close to the form). Once on the side track I followed it until it started going away from the cache, and then took the direct route to GZ. On the way down I didn't bother with the side track, and sidled into a big gully a bit further from the car park. Will leave the others in the area for another visit. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our Waitangi weekend to Kurow and surrounds. Today we are doing a loop trip, travelling the road east of Lake Aviemore, then up to Omarama for a late lunch back south to Kurow, finding 55 caches along the way.
This was the only cache on the loop track that we looked for as it looked like a hot walk in the noon day sun, with no shade. A bit hairy to get to GZ with the recent tree felling but cache is an easy find once in the right place. TFTC.

A DNA, did not attempt. The area has been clear felled lots of trees hampering looking for any along the track. What a mess..and a shame
I wasn't sure we would even find the cache as the previous poster said, all the tree felling has left the area a mess. But the cache was there, just a bit hidden under felled trees and whatnot. A bit of a scramble to get to due to all the felled trees too.
Bit naughty here felling in progress and NO ENTRY! Didn’t persevere for the rest.. these caches probably disrupted for a while tftc
A bit of a scramble to get myself up off the track, after a night of heavy rain and some snow, but then found it no problem. TFTC.
When I came down the other day from Twizel to Waimate I noticed that there were the odd one or three caches along the road. I couldn't stop as I had my snail shell attached. So today I decided to go back up to at least Benmore in my cachemobile.
I thought I would try out this walkway on my gammy knees. I managed this one only.
Cheers for the cache.

This was our last at the peninsula walk. We let one out and couldn't find one. Thank you for all the lovely caches here. It sweetened our walk.

Walked past this cache as we guessed it was at the tree. Small scramble to get up here. Thanks for the cache.
Lucky I had my geocaching eyes on today. Seen a likely spot and nailed it. A lot of trees have been knocked down so unfortunately the area isn't looking great but the views around soon make up for it. Tftc
Awesome track in amazing country! Good fun finding this and the other caches on the peninsula!
The area all around has been logged and I wasn't sure the cache would still be there. It was. TFT .
was busy hunting for this one when a voice yelled out geocacher ??? well yes I am and you are ?? the reply was spoonz2 and we need to find the caches up here so we joined forces and off we go.... cache found all safe and secure in perfect condition tftc
Found with nissan 65. Flew in from sydney for a short holiday. Hoping to see as much as i can on the south island and pick up caches along the way . Thanku for the cache.
Was about to give up on this one when it was spotted. I think most of the group were more interested in the remains left in someone's dining room nearby. TFTC
It is as the title says-especially from water level. TFTC. Found with Griffinator.
Last night, LtCaine and I parked at a campground nearby. While checking on the route for the next day we saw quite a good number of geocaches along the way. As we had some time for the next day and didnt want to be in Oamaru too early, we figured we might just break our "most caches per day" record. We headed down the highway with multiple stops for the caches, went to Benmore peninsula and the elephant rocks afterwards. The reward? A couple of scratches, stunning views and 42 caches to add to our found lists! Thanks for hiding!

Last night, ReCached and I parked our awesome campervan next to the Ahuriri River between Omarama and Twizel. While we were planning the next day, we noticed a bunch of geocaches on the way to Otematata as well as on the Benmore Peninsula Track. We love Geocaching and we felt the need to decelerate our journey a little bit - an easy task with all those awesome containers out there! To round off the day, we also stopped at the gigantic Elephant Rocks near Duntroon. At the end of day, we managed to find 42 geocaches.
Our first cache on the Benmore Peninsula Track. TFTC drawp!

Wow what a spot. My bad knee thinks it's more than a terrain 2! Love coming up to look at the lake. Tftc
Lovely calm sunny morning enjoys the views. Getting up to this one wasn't too bad... Getting back down was a different story! Tftc
