We came up for the view and were not disappointed. Once up here, I had a look for the cache even though I had no good feeling looking at the previous logs.I found a nice but empty hidey hole in a rock pile at GZ but no cache anywhere to be found
Found it wedged in the bench but it needs TLC. Container is mortally damaged.
Easily found at the lookout. Nobody else was here so we enjoyed the view and did the cache. It deserves a favorite point for the great view. We really liked the hike.
Cache found while hiking the Benmore Peninsular Track. This magnificent trail offers breathtaking views of Mount Cook in the background and the landscapes.Everything is really beautiful here. What a gorgeous view from this lookout! The logbook is wet . I give a favorite point . Thank you drawp for the cache and the discovery of this magical place
Today we walked two trails one around the golf course and the other around the Benmore Peninsular. Both lovely walks. We took a slight divert off the main trail to get to this one and was welcomed with some splendid views - we searched for some time checking several hint fitting locations only to get to the bench to wonder what and where to look and the cache was spotted there !!!!???Log signed and the cache then replaced as per hint and coordinates. There were two other people who had been chatting away not aware of what we had been doing - we overheard one was from the UK and over here for a year, the other a local who does a lot of walking in the area. We mentioned geocaching and the lass from UK had done it years ago and had a bit of a chuckle when she heard we had just found one. We explained it all to the local who may have a look at what it's all about when he gets homeA fav for this splendid location TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Ah, got to the top! And here we leave a TB after travelling halfway round the world from Norway.TFTC!
Tftc ! Easy track with astonishing view, on a sunny day with Mt Cook clearly visible far in the distance ! Had fun finding all the caches with Marylo0ove
Beautiful day and the clouds keeping it cool. Had a great swim in the lake too before coming up, tftc!
Today we walked the loop track and here we found a great view. Cache is in good condition.

Sat beside the cache waiting for muggles to look the other way. Sadly rain clouds overhead. Might have to head back.
Enjoyed our walk around the loop track. Nice to take a break here. The cache was a quick find. TFTC.

Cache was a quick find and logbook is full but as I usually carry a notebook with me I added two sheets of paper from my notebook. Great views
TFTC walked around in circles then more straight forward find great views on a cold day lovely spot fav point for the walk and view
In Omarama with BCD and our Saturday mission was to bike the A2O from Omarama to Otemetata. A lovely sunny autumn day made for great views along the way. This is where we had lunch and what an amazing view!!! Cache was a nice quick find TFTC
A nice place to sit and drink in the view as well as some water and eat a snack before getting down to the task of finding the cache. Well covered but it looks as though a few muggles have found it over time. Log book is full but there is plenty of space on many of the pages. Thanks for enticing us out to the viewpoint.
Second time I have found this. Found it by mistake the first time about a year ago. Love this place
Suddenly very stormy at the top but we were lucky and could find it

Quickly found with not many hiding places. A lot of rain spoiling the view so now a power walk back. Thanks for the cache. Fp from us!
Awesome track in amazing country! Good fun finding this and the other caches on the peninsula!
wow what a view certainly made the walk worthwile the photo does not do justice to what you can find while caching found with spoonz2 cache in perfect condition tftc
Beautiful day. Cache had been found by a child who picked up a rock to throw, luckily they had been cachers and knew what it was. And we had such an awesome time we climbed the whole hill twice! Actually we left a hiking pole up there and had to go back for it. Excellent workout.
Last night, LtCaine and I parked at a campground nearby. While checking on the route for the next day we saw quite a good number of geocaches along the way. As we had some time for the next day and didnt want to be in Oamaru too early, we figured we might just break our "most caches per day" record. We headed down the highway with multiple stops for the caches, went to Benmore peninsula and the elephant rocks afterwards. The reward? A couple of scratches, stunning views and 42 caches to add to our found lists! Thanks for hiding!

Last night, ReCached and I parked our awesome campervan next to the Ahuriri River between Omarama and Twizel. While we were planning the next day, we noticed a bunch of geocaches on the way to Otematata as well as on the Benmore Peninsula Track. We love Geocaching and we felt the need to decelerate our journey a little bit - an easy task with all those awesome containers out there! To round off the day, we also stopped at the gigantic Elephant Rocks near Duntroon. At the end of day, we managed to find 42 geocaches.
Beautiful view from up here, we took a lot of photos. TFTC drawp!

Left this cache after doing all the others up this track so I could come back again because the walk is outstanding once we get to the top of the hill. Today was such a beautiful day and we set off in the morning since it was going to be a hot day. This is a beautiful outlook over Lake Benmore and the peak of Mt Cook above the hill. We could hear a drone above us while looking at the view. Another dot day ticked off for December and a day towards my challenge cache becoming closer. TFTC drawp

další perfektní hint, ještě že tady je toho kamení tak málo

Found while on a weekend leave pass with Karma Reprint, heading up and down the Waitaki Valley with a few bike rides and wanders on the way. After a DNF behind, it was a quick one here. Exposed though, some distant views of lights and not much else at 6:20pm. Onwards by torchlight! Cheers
Time to wander the peninsular. Night has fallen, torches to the fore..... A quick find, and a quiet place to sit. Starting to get chilly but. cheers.
Off on a caching weekend with Kiwi Moose, to the Waitaki and slightly beyond. Great weather, great place to be, great company, and more than a few little plastic boxes.
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Found with MrandMrsChosen1978 on our Waitangi Weekend road trip. We had ventured down from Omarama and decided to do the walk round the peninsula and grab the caches. Great views on a great day. Thanks for the hide.
Found by mrandmrschosen1978, with Granville86a, while on a road trip over Waitangi Weekend. We started off traveling through Central Otago and on up to the McKenzie Basin exploring Lake Ohau to Mt Cook one day, then we spent another day by heading down the Waitati Valley before heading back down south. As we explored these areas we decided to do this walk and found this cache along the way. Thank you for the placement an amazing scenic walk with views across the lake and even Mt Cook
We found this geocache during our great NZ trip with our dad GlobeCacher.de, please see his log for details.

My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. The Seagnoid is navigator and scribe, Zara and I have teamed up and Im cache logger. We leave Tekapo for Alexandra today.
Benmore and the peninsula walk are on my radar today - so lets go. Great views from here. Quick easy snag and tag. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 7: Tekapo to Alexandra.
Great views of the lake here.

Today, after waking up at a rainy, windy, foggy and cold Mount Cook, we decided to look for a place with a bit sunshine and we therefore drove the 120 kms to Otematata for the Benmore Peninsula Track. It appeared to be a very worthwhile 7 km walk, which kept us busy for three hours as it required at times quite some searching, both for the cache locations as for the caches itself. In total we visited 11 caches and we have managed to find them all.
Our big thanks to **drawp** for showing us around at this place. We will leave a favorite with a few caches as appreciation for this nice trail in a truly beautiful environment.
*Not difficult to find but surely a great place to be, will leave a favorite for that.*

Ninalila and I went for a walk because the weather is really nice and warm. We found all the boxes on our way even if sometimes it meant to 'climb' a little. All of them were easy to find.
The views all along the track are stunning !!!!
When we reached the boxe we understood why so many favourite points

Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
A great walk to fantastic view points over the lake. Very well worth doing. Yes this one has to be the favorite.
Weather hasn't been the clearest all day but just as we got here we could see Mt Cook. Tftc
Fantastic views from this one.
Found on a round up in the area with DebsNZ and Aoraki Sheep.

A cool breeze but it didn't deter from the view! Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104.
Would have liked to spend longer here but the cold wind kept us moving. Found with Woody104 and debsnz
Brilliant sunshine here, drizzling at home. Good day for a walk, but did not dress for this weather! And what a view! TFTC
Had viewed this track that followes the ridge from way back and thought thank goodness we aren't going to climb up that one! How wrong I was. But in the end there was a nice seat to recover on, a nearby cache and a grand view.
I'm not good with heights and looking at this spot from the previous cache I was worried about how I would reach gz but it was a piece of cake, nothing to worry about at all. And we could see Mount Cook in the distance which was great as we hadn't been able to see it the day before when we were close by. Cheers drawp.
Another of the easy ones because once again quite exposed, signed log and recovered. Great views on this beautiful day. Tftc
I've done the loop track a few times but never been up to this lookout. Amazing spot TFTC
The views from up here are spectacular! Took my first own travel bug TB5J5HF here for it's first outdoor experience. TFTC
4th find on the Penninsula walkway, wow what amazing views. My mum spotted this one before I even had the GPS out. Had to stop to take lots of photo's (but risked being blown away!!!). Thanks for bringing me here - I wouldn't have taken this diversion without the cache at the end SL TFTC
Standing in the fog - not such a great view as described by others. But maybe we come back in summer! TFTC
