Enjoyed the scramble up to GZ. Should have worn more supportive shoes but took my time and got there without issue. Loved taking in the complexities of the landscape. Had never been here before. Thank you for bringing me here. Cache is in good order. Dry, but the plastic baggie is busted.
Amazing spot! No one was up here at all! What a spot to be beaten down by the wind on a stormy day or read a book on a better day. Cache in good condition and dry. TFTC!
Im sure that a few years ago I had a bit of a look for this one but didnt find it. Flax hides are certainly not my favourite! Thought Id give this another go today seeing were staying in the area overnight. Lovely day today, by the way. On our previous two visits here the wind was very strong and unpleasant!Anyway, back to the cache. I started looking on the lower level but couldnt get closer than about 6m to GZ. That didnt necessarily mean the cache wasnt thereabouts. However I decided to head up to the upper level even though it was quite a trek to get there! Started my search there. My GPS reading at that point was 2-3m from GZ. After two or three minutes I wondered whether in fact I was on the right level, or how much longer Id bother searching in the flax. Good thing I didnt give up at that point (I found the hint helpful) because I soon spotted something promising and, yes, it was precisely what I was after! Glad to have knocked off this one! #7645. TFTC.
We were soo lucky to have a great sunny day to explore this area. What awesome geology, I've never seen anything like this.
We are on a day trip from Martinborough to Castlepoint with family. As we got close to GZ, coordinates couldnt quite get down low enough - maybe we shouldve read the description more thoroughly as we found ourselves on the wrong elevation. Once we sorted that out all was good. Thanks anzac61
Very windy, and cloudy today, but the spectacular views made up for it for sure.A little dicey once i worked out the best and safest way to GZ.Took a few mins to locate the container.Thank you anzac61 for bringing us out this way, gets a fav from me
Next DayWe found the right way to the cache. Amazing lookout. TFTC DrFragger with family
Unclear its allowed to enter this area. Fences stands here. But I love this place, lovely. DrFragger with family
Had a really good hunt around all the flax and holes in the general area but had no luck
What fantastic views from the cache a d a beautiful sunny day. A nice little hide. TFTC
TFTCFound with Missy1803.A beautiful spot for a cache, and a glorious day to be in this spot. The previous finders had not put it back in its position, so we were glad we were there to rectify the situation.
TFTC Found with Colway1. A rare day of no wind for our visit from Australia. A beautiful spot.
Trouve ! / Found it ! Magnifique endroit. Le point de vue est superbe. Merci beaucoup pour cette belle cache 4150me cache trouve.Merci anzac61 pour la cache Wonderful place. The view is superb. Thank you very much for this beautiful cache 4150th cache found.Thank you anzac61 for the cache
We were truly blessed with a very slight wind today, not what one would expect from the windiest place in the world
We didn't follow instructions, so had to back track & found the cache.
A wonderful trek to the lighthouse & beyond, to the truly rugged coastline. Just magic to stand & gaze at the waves crashing the coast.

This too way longer that I'm willing to admit Great spot for a cache with a lovely view! TFTC!
Took a quick one night trip to castle point to check things out and needed some caches along the way!
Stunning views up here, quickly spotted after figuring what level the cache was on. Trackable picked up and will take for a ride.
I wrote in the log and placed the cache back as found. TFTCSL, Thanks anzac61 for this Traditional cache.

Didn’t read description until we realised the hint didn’t make any sense. Glad we did! Quick find after that
Out for a Sunday drive to Castlepoint. Neither of us have been here in a very long time so it was nice to walk up to the lighthouse and have a look around

Super windy today, I was stepping (gently) on the cache container to stop it blowing away while I signed the log! Amazing views and amazing geology - thanks for placing a cache here!
Took us ages, totally read it wrong, huge adventure though, wrong shoes, beautiful day, great sense of achievement once found, Tftc
Today we visited Castlepoint and take a lovely walk to the lighthouse and the bay. Wonderful landscape and good weather.

An easy find once I read the description on how to get to the cache. Great views on a very windy day. Left TB. Love the location so will give it a FP
Easy snatch, would recommend good footwear, track has eroded heaps so be careful where you tread .
After it had poured down all night, it was nice to wake up to a break in the bad weather.
I took the opportunity to dash out for an early morning cache and to get some nice sunrise photos.
This is one we had looked for many years ago, so it was great to finally be able to turn that frown upside down.
Thanks for putting this cache here in this awesome place

We decided to visit Castle Point having never been before. There was a number of police in the area so wasn't sure we could search for the cache. Once they had gone we set off to find the cache. Took way longer than it should have. On our way back down we saw some locals on the rocks. TfTC.
Awesome views. Never seen anywhere in the country like this before. Cache was a nice find. Cheers
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Another day trip but with the unexpected puncture. Today I went from Castlepoint to Eketahuna via Masterton to fix the tyre. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
Such a spot! Very picturesque location. Thanks for placement!

We had a hunt for this on the way back from the lighthouse. We got to around 8m away and followed hint but had no luck. Now after reading cache page more carefully, I think we may have been on the wrong level.
Have had a fantastic morning today walking up to the lighthouse and beyond, then climbing over the reef and watching the waves come in finally topped off by a walk from the south end of the beach right up to the top of Castle Rock! Then we meandered back on the ridge and through the little bit of forest to the car in the carpark. What a blast! This cache was claimed in the first part of the morning, it's in a great spot - so picturesque. My phone battery went flat up on the ridge with the geocaching and the number of photos that I took. This cache has to be a favourite from me, TFTC and the fab morning
That’s sad, having climbed up the cliff face to GZ, and fossicked around the flaxes, I came up empty handed. Nice spot for a cache, but sadly I couldn’t find it. Oh well, maybe next time.
Out visiting castlepoint on my own today, after a really fun weekend in riversdale with a bunch of friends!
Won’t be attempting the one that requires a swim, and the exposed reef was definitely a no go with waves crashing over it!
But success with this cache and hopefully the puzzle cache can be solved next!

Found this with Egbby on our van road-trip of North island. We are both geographers, so the geology here was an amazing place to see, and well worth a favourite point! Thanks for bringing us here and placing the cache. TFTC
Took a little while to find, little tough to traverse up if less mobile. GPS is off by 8ish meters but stick to description and she’ll be alright. Tftc, Rafa and I had fun finding this!
Amazing cache, spent the last few weeks in the wairarapa and it has been our favorite region so far, especially pleased that we took the time to come to castlepoint - absolutely amazing scenery. Tftc
Have attached a photo of myself clambering on top of the plateau

Now this was a really good place, and I had the best weather too. A fun little scramble to GZ and I had the cache. TFTC, sorry for the late log.
Tried earlier today but the wind was so strong we couldn't even stand up. Later on the wind abated to a mere 20 knots and after reading the helpful instructions in the cache description a quick find followed.
(# 6627). A trip to Castlepoint and Riversdale Beach primarily to get the Adventure Lab caches. Got some others as well. A quick find. Everything in order. Thanks for bringing me here.
After checking out the lighthouse we went down the stairs and along the rocks towards gz. We followed our compass but couldn’t get too close to gz and came up empty handed. After reading a few logs we realised a different approach was required and soon after made a quick find of the cache.
We were visiting Castle Rock today and so I thought I'd give this one a go. Great views! The cache was an easy find once I had found the best path to it. I signed the back cover of the old log book. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot... nicely weighted. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
Tried for this earlier this week but far too windy so this morning as we finished our holiday we were keen to have another go. Luckily the wind had died away so the niece and nephews and I scrambled about. The conditions were great but we did have to look back to other comments as we got very close but it just didn’t seem right. Luckily looking up we realised our mistake and were able to find it. Lovely views, beautiful day, and we wouldn’t have known to explore this area if not for this cache. Thanks!
With Grandfather who found this cache nine years ago relying on memory from where it was. Without a GPS I found it where it should be.
I love caches like these. A sense of adventure required, as well as some brain power. It took me a while to navigate to GZ, but when I finally got there I soon had the cache in hand. Magnificent views on a sunny, but very windy, day. TFTC
Well it was blowing an absolute gale here today and this one initially proved a little problematic and we had to resort to looking at the previous logs. With new info now available we marched on through the strong breeze. Soon had the cache in hand when we actually arrived at the right location
I love this place! Don't be afraid to wake up for the sunrise and see the magic light!!! TFTC
Nice scramble up the rocks this morning before breakfast. Tftc. Log is now full.
Came to Castle Point on the motorcycle. Had wanted to come here two years ago around the 50th anniversary of the the Wahina Disaster but the weather was terrible so stayed in Wellington. Loved this cache. It gets a favourite from us as it gave clear instructions on how to access the cache safely. 13th March
Another wonderful sunny day in the area. I started my day at Castlepoint visiting the lighthouse. I enjoyed the walk around the cliffs and found some caches too! I loved to look for this one. It was a nice and quiet spot and a great opportunity to see the lighthouse from another angle! I add a favorite point for this one!

Great location, was able to collect this one today when I ran out of time yesterday evening. TFTC
Searched for a long time for this one until I read some of the previous logs then found pretty quickly. My grandsons first cache find too which he was stoked about. Had an awesome day here with the grandkids, climbing the high peak, swimming in the sea and walking around the lighthouse area. Dropped off a TB. TFTC
Yes!! Read a previous log about levels and navigated there. Soon we had the cache. What a brilliant place!! An FP for bringing us here! TFTC
Another superb trad cache at Castlepoint. Once we finally found our way to the correct level we were completely away from the muggles with fantastic views all round and in complete safety as well. This is a very very clever hide and location indeed and well worth a favourite point.
The rain started as we left the track to find it. That made it even more fun. Great one for the kids TFTC
Really enjoyed this cache, gets a favourite. Taybee and TaybeeNZ stayed at the bottom of the castle, while Taybeedragon and I scaled the ramparts. This was an interesting challenge to find - we ended up just a few metres away, but also a few metres down. How to get up to the next level? But we found a way, and found another (easier) way down.
I have lost my notebook! When I go on a geotrip I record my finds and notes in a log book or, in the case of this big circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki that Taybeedragon and I did over Christmas, in three notebooks. And I have lost notebook number 3 - 29th December onward. Luckily I enter the caches as found on the GPS (helps with avoiding backtracking) so I am using my GPS log to identify which caches I found/DNFed. Alas, however, no cache notes. So it is now March - and I am relying on memory. A fickle thing, memory. I suspect most will have no notes above. Sorry, folks.

We are back in Castlepoint after a side trip to Riverside. Time for a walk to check out the light house. Also scramble around for this one. Finally got it tagged. Cheers
Day 22 - Friday 3 January 2020. Wellington. Its a trip to Castle Point today with Taybee and Taybee NZ.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

We have been wanting to come and collect this for quite some time, it has been years since we were here but today was perfect for a stroll up around the rocks and thanks to Mrs gps was right on it. Signed and returned snuggly, tFTc.
Found this one while on a holiday away from our home in Whangamata thanks for the cache
