It was quite hot this afternoon, but I did enjoy my stroll along the ridge. No problems finding this one. Am I really this first to find this since 2022. Amazing TFTC
Located with Ricardinho
There's a lot of caches along this track & RNZ stopped for one & I kept biking. RNZ is going to lead the way, so I know when he's stopping to retrieve a find
I am completing the 50km a Day Challenge with a team from work & I need to exercise every day of March. Today we decided on a mountain bike ride from Tasman to Mapua along a track adjacent to the new main road. We have looked at this many times driving to Motueka & talked about doing it, today was the day. My reward for the exercise, a pastie from the Ruby Bay Kitchen & a drink at Golden Bear

Find 2 for today. No issues with this one, it was a quick find. Thanks for the cache and view B&W.
It was a nice early autumn day, and I am over the hill again. Today RG72 and I decided to go for a bike ride starting at Dicker Rd in Tasman township.
We have often driven down the highway here to Motueka or wherever and commented on the cycle way up on the ridge to our right (when going that way) and thinking we should get out here for a ride. Exercise for RG72; that and caches for me.
That discussion picked up again when a few more caches were published along here recently.
So I packed the two wheeled steed, chucked on RG’s too, and here we are.
All up it was very successful. All caches found in good shape, further notes for each at the above. Thanks all COs.

I parked near the farmhouse and hiked up the trail. I left the trail too soon so I battled more gorse than I had to. It would have been better to have gone past GZ, then come at it from that direction. Still some gorse, but less. TFTC.
Had a pleasant walk around the Dicker-Williams circuit with my Tuesday walking group.
Introduced a non-caching waller to our wierd game, and may have a convert. She was very excited when she made a quick find.

Track narrows a bit through here but we were still able to get the ranger through. Quick snag and tag here and back to the a/c in the ute. TFTC
We are in Toby driving along an old road way above the highway. Approaching this from the other end there were no signs not to take Toby. Road a bit narrow in places up here. Thankfully we did not meet anyone along the way. Another tag after a quick search. Cheers. Now we sneek out the other end.
Its another weekend exploring Nelson and Tasman with The Seagnoid, Toby and Zara. Early start out of Blenheim getting to Nelson by 8am. Had a great weekend picking up a couple of Labs, even a new one on our way home in Havelock.

Interseting to see this road just above the road below - this was the old stage route?
Given that I am leaving Blenheim soon, I am putting in a concerted effort to cache out the South Island. 40 caches this weekend, only a few thousand more to go. A couple more weeks should do it! As usual I have Zara, Toby and Taybeedragon along for the ride. We were supposed to be going to Murchison, but there is some horrible weather that way, so we came here instead. Much better!!

Staying at the McKee Memorial Reserve and decided that it was time for another cyclocache ride. This ride was to include the Dicker Ridge Track. Nice views as I rode along the ridge. TFTC b&w
Found whilst out on an afternoon stroll for a couple of caches to qualify for the Goodbye 2019 Souvenir. All in good order. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks B&W for another cache.
Out walking along the Dicker Ridge this morning. Quickly spotted and enjoyed the views. Thanks for the cache.
After a morning in the garden it was time to stretch the legs and get some steps in with SJT_NZ, some caches he'd found already so quick finds for me and others were a new walking track with great views of the autumn colours and Tasman Bay. Thanks b&w for this cache.
It was such a glorious afternoon, I decided to go for a wee walk to find todays cache. As I looked for a place to park it was quite busy in the area as the apple pickers are in full swing, so I parked on the road well out of the way from where the tractors were whizzing up and down the road and driveway.
I greeted the orchard workers who were all finishing their days work as I wandered up the driveway, they all sounded to be having a great day as there was plenty of cheerful chat and banter going on.
The dogs made my presence known but they did not come near, they were all bark (thankfully).
As I was heading up the track a mountain biker came zooming past, and shortly later I was greeted by a very friendly chook. Took a few moments to chat to the chook (thank goodness there were no other people around).
I soon arrived at GZ an the cache was in the first place I looked, it is in great condition.
Once signing the log and returning the cache as I found it I just enjoyed the views and the warmth of the sunshine.
Thanks for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley.
We have one more cache to find on this trail, but that can wait for another day (although I did prefind it as I was passing,

Came for a walk up the Dicker track today in glorious hot sunshine. It's a nice walk along this ridge with plenty to see on both sides. The farmer was bringing in his sheep for a bit of a hair cut so he asked us to park on his lawn to keep out of harms way.
Our GPS was a bit off but nothing hard about the find. TFTC and bringing us to this lovely place.

After a day a work I decided to have a crack at this Dicker Ridge quintet as it appeared quite a straightforward way of bumping today's numbers up.
Having been greeted enthusiastically by the farmer-type's dog, I thought I should check with the aforementioned farmer-type to confirm I was in the right place for the track and was not about to trespass on his, or someone else's land.
Having got the green light from him I set on up the slope, passed a rather incongruous electricity box in a field then passed Vodafone mast doing its best to look like a pine tree (and failing) before hitting the GZ.
My phone had me about 6m from the actual GZ, which seemed about consistent for this afternoon's outing, but with only one plausible hint object, the cache was a quick find.
Bending down to pick up the cache, I scared the bejesus out of a rabbit who was minding its business under a gorse bush.
Thanks and onwards.
#1410
PS. As a footnote I was able to complete the five caches and return to the car in 75 minutes, although I do walk rather quickly. Quicker on bike, or horse presumably. Another option would be to do #1-#3 from here and then drive round and do #5 & #4 from that end.

A bit of road, a bit of mud, a lot of gorse and a cache. How much better can the day get
I had left this track and these caches for quite a while considering how close to home they are...today's clear winter afternoon is perfect.

Last week we had found the first three of this short series so today we came back to find the other two. It didn't take long to get to GZ and the log was soon signed.
Thank you bumandworker.
Thank you bumandworker.
#1 But the last find of the series for us. What we perceived as a bit of a mission proved rather pleasant. No problems walking and a breeze for cyclists to do the series I guess. Thank you bumandworker
We decided to go on a family bike ride for Easter. Surprisingly it went rather well and we had no dramas (other than loosing the pen between the car and the cache). We stopped by the cache to eat our hot cross buns and have a rest before biking back to Mapua. I decided not to push everyone patience so chose to just stop at this cache as it was an easy one for the family to find.
Due to loosing the pen all we were able to do was photograph the log book. I hope this is acceptable. Sorry. TFTC and thanks for bringing us out on this new part of the bike trail

When we arrived at the parking co-ords, I was sure we were on private land and I expected someone to appear from the nearby house, wanting to know what we were up to but no-one appeared, so we hoped the car was not in the way and headed off.
The first 100m were definitely the hardest - and we were walking! After that, as promised, it was a very pleasant and easy stroll and soon we were getting quite warm from our exertions.
Made hard work of the find as the cache was in the first place I looked but I didn't look well enough (somehow was expecting a larger cache, even though I knew this was a b&w hide). It took a better look from StreetWalker to find it, but only after I had ripped my shin skin on some blackberry .
Very close to the main road here, and if you doubled the terrain rating, this could be a drive by . TFTC.

#9554. We thought we'd have an easy-ish day's caching today, so decide to do this group of caches not too far from home. After a chilly stat the day had warmed up a lot, and walling uphill in the sun soon warmed us up. We made hard walk of the find, but got there in the end. TFTC.
Took the day off work to find some caches which have been on the "to do" list for a while. Decided to jump on the bike for the Dicker Ridge series and this one was the first find. Log book very damp so left a replacement. All good. Terrific views up here!! Thanks BW
On my bike, now I know why they're called a PUSH bike ha ha, first for the day.
Good to get out again!!
Good to get out again!!
Out for a good walk/jog around the Dicker Ridge track to pick up all the caches. Glad not to have 3 DNFs in a row! Although this log is getting wet. TFTC
Finally nearing the parking spot and what[?] a sign post about a walking track 50M on. A quick signing followed by a not so quick U-Turn and exited on a well formed road onto the by-pass. Not at all to plan. Oh well. Off to find more caches I suppose. No outing for the bike after all.

Dusted off the old bike for a bit of exercise. Where to start? lots of gates but no sign. Eventually found the righ gate hidden behind the large truck.

In Motueka for the morning and had time to find a few caches on the way back to Nelson. Passed a few caches in Motueka, but they all had too many muggles about.
Felt like all the cars full of muggles had there eyes on me as I was searching for this one, even though the road is very far away. probably didn't help with my red top! TFTC

Is there no end to the bumandworker supply of film canisters?! Makes me laugh ) Quick find for Mr AK while I sat in the car looking decorative. TFTC.
Been waiting to do this circuit with Kiwi Grandad on the MTB. Almost missed this one as the navigator wasn't surveying his GPS very well (old eyes!). Nice views. Thanks.
What a great use of paper roads - great to see them being recast. Knocked off these couple from this end, and drove round the other end. Cheers Gav [10305]

After finding the correct entrance to the Dicker Track this cache was an easy retrieve. Took a moment to survey the view and then we were off to the next one. TFTC

Thanks for telling us about this ride, this time I actually had the geocaches loaded and so found them no problem
Nice walk from the other end of the road. Still beating the weather rolling in too. TFTC

Number 1 was our Number 3. Realised later that we could have approached this one from the highway, - - but we would have missed a nice walk if we had. TFTC. Good one.
We found 2 and 3 on a previous visit so decided to park in the recommended spot and look for 1 today. No problems with the park, walk or find. Nice views as we expected. Thanks.
Nice One!!!!!!!!#1 became #4 in a great series of caches. Very enjoyable way to spend an hour or so on a beautiful, cool, clear, sunny afternoon. Much fun to let the 'ole GPS do its thing and enjoy the results. Great to do a series where there are no puzzles and you do not distroy body part making the find.
Left the car at the recommended spot and hopped on our bikes. Yes the first bit is the worst and most of the track is really pleasant. Nice views from here and along the way too. TFTC, Biggles.
I was following a family up here and passed them as the daughter was on the ground protesting about going further however something happened to change her mind as she was running ahead of the others while I was signing the cache. TFTC #2258
A long time ago Stretch0 and I hunted for a cache somewhere on Dicker Road - way back then we didnt realise it was a paper road and spent a long time trying to find away in - today we found our way to the nicely signposted walkway and enjoyed the walk through the farm and along the ridge with views in all directions - found cache and listened to all the traffic zooming along below us and it was a quiet Monday afternoon as we signed the log thanks for bringing us here and solving the Dicker Road mystery we had always wondered about !! Now on to the next cache .....
Not being too trusting of the weather at the moment we did this series by short walks but we are still enjoying being out and about. Another great view of the estuary and beyond from here which makes these walks all the more worthwhile. TFTC
Didn't have time to do the whole walkway because i had things to do in Nelson with the rest of family.I enjoyed all of them and will come hear for another walk with Mrs L one day. TFTC
A nice quick find once i Ran/walked out to get the cache this morning before work. Really enjoying coming up here to get these caches. Greatly appreciated having new caches around these parts =)
Perfect timing - a set of new caches on a new (at least to us) track and a weeks holiday! A very enjoyable ride!
A muddy FTF after work but well worth the effort on a MTB great fun and well done the locals TFTC
