The garden has most certainly been cleaned up and the dead cherry tree removed. Think it is time to let the cache R.I.P. as well.
After much time scratching around and coming up short I asked for a hint from a geo mate and he told me what to look for. Another lengthy search but still no find. Much swearing at this point because i really wanted check this one off. Got geo mate to come and show me the spot but even he couldn't uncover the allusive hide. Think this one may need checking on. Thanks anyway.
Slowly catching up on my logs from my trip to the boarder to meet up with Code 1, no wounder I was having trouble finding this one to log as is has been archived. This was not the first time I had stopped at the nearby outlet, usually on the way south. Still as I needed somewhere to map out the next leg of journey OK how best to attack this town. So I set myself up and in the proses was able to do the cache.

This is my second attempt at this hide and I can't believe I missed it the first time it's a really clever hide. SL TFTC
There was a rather unpleasant hot wind, and a heavy, greasy smell when I visited. The nearby roses looked lovely, but there was no time to stop and smell the roses as I made the quick find and getaway before being noticed.
Great cache!
Great cache!
# 2970. Robmc and I were in need of nice cold drinks after many long walks today. I pointed out to him that I had never looked for this cache before. We soon remedied that. Oh the poor rose garden where the cache is hidden. So shrivelled and the weeping cherry dead. Some of the others were looking poorly too. Made the quick discovery, sat and added my name to the list and in we went for long, cold drinks. Very nice. TFTC PD and Harrowang. It has been quite a PD/Harrowang day today.

Wangaratta Area 2013 with Mtrax. This bed was all cleared out of roses when we visited, but the rest of the garden was impressive. I remember when these cache containers had to be hand built from real ones. Thanks.

I sure could smell the roses
And enjoyed a stroll around the gardens to check them out a bit closer
The wind was blowing the right way today and over at GZ I could still smell the roses and not greasy fast food
I saw the cache container right away and sat down for a comfy logbook signing session [^]

Quite a clever little cache, spotted very quickly. Was lucky with this one, all muggles were getting out of the heat in the eateries nearby. Tftc!
TFTC, this is a great spot and a very clever hidden cache. We stopped here on a day trip from Bright to get away from the heat, but on our visit the temperature was 41!
This was, cache # 45 of 85 finds for the day in the Company of Trailrunning. No trouble on this one, we escaped with out spending any money here. My thanks to purpledreamer (adopted by Harrowang) for the cache.
After a great Christmas at home with the kids, the girlfriend and I headed up to her sister's place in Lima. After a few windy and hot days up there I get a call from my fellow The Demolition Crew team member RebelActs who syas he'll be visiting the area with CrazyNatGirl! We decide to plan a day of caching in the Wangaratta area, and hit the easy drive-by's. I'm so sorry for the generic log, but given I'm over 200 logs behind (no internet or pc for the last few weeks) this is all I can manage. Thanks to all the CO's and their efforts.
We purchased coffee nearby and headed towards GZ to sit and drink while we located the cache. In the very early days of our caching we were fooled by a hide much like this one. Today with a little more experience under our belt we were able to find the container fairly quickly.

First and second impressions are often wrong, but the third was correct this time. A few muggles about but all were occupied.

Our second stop on our way North. We were on a bit of a timetable so we grabbed a snack from the 'local' and went for a bit of a stroll. Our first assumption was wrong but not long after we had the cache in hand.
Signed and put back, very clever container. TFTC

On a quick trip to Wangaratta could leave without doing one of Purpledreamers original caches! I was lucky enough to win a Dream Sherpa Geocoin with one of the memorial tags in her honour and purple being my favourite colour this cache was a must!
There was a muggle sitting in the Rotunda but not interested in what I was doing as she was too busy abusing the crap out of her boyfriend on the phone
Unfortunately I could smell the roses as there werent any there! Quick easy find as I have found a few of these hides SL TNLN TFTC

Had to get some new treads for the car so decided to have lunch at McDonalds. Sitting there looking at the rose garden I remembered this cache and decided to have a look. Walked outside and saw two muggles sitting where I thought gz would be. I took a seat too wait for them to go, only to discover I had parked myself right on top of the cache. Don't you just love dumb luck. Tnlnslt4tc
Found @9:35 down this way for a funeral and thought I'd stay to catch up with the family, so why not Cache while I'm here... TFTC StaceV 1 only

This one took us two attempts and the cover of darkness to get, but finally success! Great hide, very well done! SL. TFTC!
We managed to get a park just a few metres from GZ and we also managed to get some pictures of the different types and colours of roses in the garden. We sometimes use the nearby service station for late-night refreshments after leaving the last Jazz concert 'round midnight, but we have never paid any attention to this rose garden before. Thanks Harrowang for getting us to stop for a look. Despite the lunchtime crowds it was still fairly easy to retrieve and replace the cache container without arousing too much suspicion from the nearby people.
Found with pgoz aftr couple of attempts. High muggle activty found at night with use of torch
Finally got his after a few tries...TFTC

Stopped by this one on our way home after the AWGC event in Wodonga, after being told it needed some maintenance. Put new write-in-the-rain log sheet, laminated cache note & pencil in container. Should be good to go now. By the way, the roses are just a picture at the moment.
I could today, stopped by the nearby establishment for some after event eats and thought I'd pick this one up while everyone else was busy satisfying their appetites.
Log was a soggy, tried to dry it out beat I could with limited time we had. It writable but could do with a replacement.
Cheers.

Fun easy find, initiating a friend to geocaching on the way back from hotham! Tftc!
Sorry for the late lost log. Found while out with family for the day. Found with Happy pants. Thanks Harrowang.
No roses in flower today to smell, had to do with inhaling my lovely cup of coffee instead, found with geonephew. TFTC ( that stands for cache not coffee)
We went for a drive without the teenager! Bliss!
We found lots of caches, as well - even better!
Loved the roses!
Thanks, purpledreamer.

This cache was found on my trip to Victoria and New South Wales for the Oz Mega event at Albury. Great trip which included finding over 230 caches in the 6 days.

I had a guess before I arrived what I was looking for, but had to wait for some muggles to move off before finding and signing this cache.

Everyone jumped out, 5 teams in all and a quick find was made. On our way home from Oz Mega. We have been once before with 10 pairs of eyes and searched here, it must have been missing then or, more likely, we're blind
Thanks for bringing us back here

After previously visiting the area around lunch time and not being able to spot anything without drawing attention to ourselves. We decided to come back later. Well here we were armed with a small clue from a fellow cacher, and within moments we had the cache spotted and the log in hand.

This one was timed perfectly and Kaisho53 and I availed ourselves of some sustenance while at GZ...
Prior to that though we had some business to take care of. The approach to GZ was easy enough and the muggles weren't paying too much attention to us. Once there, I spotted the container and with some strategic body placement, was able to extract it without any awkward movement... [^]
Log signed in situ, it was put back just as easy and we headed across the driveway for some grub... Now, if only we could eat as quick as we could find and log. We might have snuck another few caches in today...
Cheers purpledreamer.

Having camped the night at Oxley with Liz & Bruce and just 5 days before the Mega we found ourselves among a sea of caches.
We had searched for this cache without success when we last were in Wangaratta. This time, as repairs to our caravan were completed, this cache was located and logged.
