Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Coffin Bay my next destination is Port Lincoln which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for better weather soon I don’t mind it being cool just not rain showers when you are out and about.
Another new day in Port Lincoln and it is time to relocate the van and head down to the National Park so I got up early packed up and headed off.
So after setting up the van at Surfleet Campground it was time to explore the South West area and the weather is finally looking good.
After exiting the park and turning left it was going to be great to see where this road lead me to.
I have cached with everlasting before and how much fun it was to do a couple of night caches with her and a couple of others when they cannot hear anything and see you when it is pitch black.
Getting to the gate was easy getting part, getting to the cache was the had part, shorts and a short sleeve shirt was not the best thing to have on but I just added to the battle scars that I have received from this trip.
Thanks wheres wolly TFTC.

Seeing it is one thing, getting to it is another. Hard work! Thanks for the challenge!
During our new years break, jesswrigley and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, jesswrigley and I spent the day around Port Lincoln. We spent the morning seeing the town and marina, and then headed south travelling past Port Lincoln National Park to check out Whalers Way. It was still a little cold and nippy with the wind about, but otherwise a sunny day.
Access to this one really did suck. There were so many bastard bushes, but I guess on the bright side, no muggles will ever be around there and mistakenly find this cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Painful to get into this one getting scratched to bits By the bastard bushes
After having car issues over the weekend it prolonged my stay here and with Davidwazza returning home this morning I decided to head out and clean up the remains I had left in the area. A half day out and nothing but blue faces left on my map with the rest being turned into finds. Another day of 35finds
Thanks for the cache

Day 4
After a over night stay in Port Lincoln park. I came and got the last 2 caches unfound in the park on the way out before heading off to the information center for the key to memory cove which is where i am spending tomorrow night. The rain stopped over night so it was just windy the next day. quick find.
Detoured to this one since it's close and i haven't decided yet if i am going to whalers way tomorrow. Quick work out of the location of the cache, then a slow crawl in to the bush to get it. that bush is prickly.

I had a look for this one but I couldn't find it today. I did get lots of prickles and scratches, but no cache. I hope it's still there. My thanks to wheres wolly for placing it.
A nice tribute to some fellow geocachers. Made a quick find on the way back into town. TFTC
Found while visiting Port Lincoln for a week. Took a bit of a search, it helps if you search the right area, it seems. TFTC.
Hi there wheres wolly.
We found your cache **"Brother and Sisters (BUSHIES 2 AND EVERLASTING)"** at 10:38:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15776).
We cached around the Port Lincoln area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 5 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Spending the weekend down Lincoln and spending a few days in the National Park. This was the start of our second day out the Park - intending on heading out to Cape Donnington and see the sights along the northern and eastern coast. This was a quick find but a slow and deliberate retrieval considering the surrounding bushes. TFTC
A must see little GC that marks the start of a track,
down to a lake that with a unique habitat.
I'll be back.......

I pulled over at the side of the quiet road this morning and found the entry track to the Sleaford Mere Conservation Reserve.
A beautiful little reserve
The Sleaford Mere is a unique place that needs preserving, and I do wonder why it isn't included in the actual National Park [:o]
I soon found the cache and did my little happy dance
But reading the cache notes now I read the references to a couple of cachers I have bumped into several times over the years
I have met Bushies 2 at least three times, and Everlasting at least five
I was driving around St Arnaud in Victoria a few years ago and recognised the silver Range Rover parked at the side of the road near a cache and muggled Everlasting
It was hillarious !!
Last time I met the pair was in Murray Bridge at Easter this year
TFTC and memories.

Great hide. Found after going in the rong way, getting spiked and stabbed. Lost my pen but found the cache and the easier way in
A quick find then unpeeled all the layers until I got to the log book. Then I backed out of there and returned to the van.
We haven't met Everlasting or Bushies 2 but did have an e-mail conversation with Mrs Bushies 2 a couple of years ago. After quite a bit of e-mailing back and forwards I suggested I ring her - it was then I found out that that would be a waste of time as both her and her husband were deaf.
Another cacher we met had also ran in to them. They had parked behind them and seen them walking across to a cache. They called out to them and were a bit affronted when they were ignored. The reason for this became clear once at GZ.
Diversing a bit I get very frustrated to see other languages being taught in schools, especially primary schools. If they want to teach kids a second language teach them sign language which is much more universal [although not entirely so] than any other language. Sorry, but I do tend to get on a soapbox about this issue!
Thanks for the smiley and hopefully we will get to meet them one day.

Miss GG and myself were on our way to Port Lincoln for a mini camping holiday, and we decided to break up the long drive and grab some caches on the way.
We hand picked all the caches this time on our way over and the caches that we did in Port Lincoln as its quite over whelming arriving at a new location with so many caches.. at the end of the day we use caching to make the drive to a location more interesting and not to do every single cache in the town.. as that will be no holiday at all. Gotta leave some for the next trip right?
Please forgive us for a generic log, as we are logging days after doing these caches, We enjoy the challenge of every cache and we try to put custom comments on the ones we remember.
Today we were making our way south for a little explore
Thanks for the cache WheresWolly.
Until next time - First thing you know I'll be back in Bow River again

Another good cache. While searching here a ranger called in to say hello and see what we were doing. Seems he knows family members in the NT.! Small world. !
