Yay I can finally tick this one off the list TFTC

17-Aug-14

For the first time since I started caching, I found the airfield completely deserted which permitted me to attempt this cache. GZ was obvious and with a previous finder with me, the exact location of the cache was known. Unfortunately, the cache has fallen down the steel column, beyond the reach of human fingers, It might be able to be retrieved with a tool, perhaps a coat hanger, but that remains to be seen.
A hide like this really needs some filler, maybe foam rubber inserted to lessen the risk of the cache falling in completely.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. Sad
Please DNF log for details.

22-Jul-14
All good to go after replacing the cache. Please replace where you find it, no use adding it to the others down the bottom of the post!!

19-Jul-14
Three previous DNF we have it a crack anyway I hate going home in an uneven number so wanted this one to bring us to #124 - nope couldn't find it looked in all the usual spots plus tricky ones - geo mum even climbed up into the plane which wasn't an easy thing plenty of lol along the way TFTC hopefully it hasn't been muggled

We came to Wonthaggi for the weekend for the mid year dinner event from Ballarat with passenger misscheif18 from Bacchus Marsh.
We had to DNF your cache Soar like an eagle! on 6/07/2014 1:12 pm. We searched & searched but didn't find the cache again today.

06-Jul-14
Was with highrod on the way home from Wonthaggi. Looked and looked in all possible places but could not find it.

In the area again while I wait for my nephew to finish his exam, and combined my love of photography with geocaching. Determined to find it this time, I have developed a technique of getting into many weird and wonderful positions to take a "photo" while looking for caches. It's great as people just think you are weird taking random photos, and leave me alone! Many thanks to the person who brought us digital photography so I can delete all the randomness I have shot while looking for caches. Thanks for bringing me to this location for some great photos of the area. I can finally mark this as a find after a number of attempts.

No plane jumpers to see today, which left Bogonghazy and I, unhindered to treasure hunt. The cache was soon in hand, signed and returned. We were homewards bound after spending the last 4 days down here. Thanks to GF07 and KTCVic for the cache.

29-Dec-13
Once again Sully came up with the goods here while I covered her from the shed.
No cover from above if anyone had been been hurtling earthbound though.
Thanks again KTCVic

29-Dec-13
This one was a little tricky, because even though there were only 1/2 dozen cars in the carpark, there were muggles overlooking GZ. Finally saw an opportunity and took it!! Thanks.

26-Dec-13
I thought that looking for this while the place was empty would make the find easier. However, there was only 2 cars in the parking lot but what it meant was that the people inside them were very interested in what I was doing. I could only walk around and look subtlety for a short while before I had to leave without finding the cache, didn't help that my GPSr was pointing me to a patch of grass a few meters away from anything cache-hide-worthy. Will be back another day.

Great cache!

19-Nov-13
2nd DNF for the day. Not a great way to start a couple of hours of caching. I will be back to continue my search, which was cut short thanks to a carload of muggles turning up.

17-Oct-13
Nut bear and I go caching every Thursday no matter what the weather. Today was probably the most extreme weather we have ever cached in..........hail storms & gale force winds.
Finally stopped for this one on our way home today. We knew it would definitely be muggle free and after a brief search the cache was in hand.
Thanks KTCvic for the cache.

17-Oct-13
Out for my usual Thursday caching run with BorisB&Natasha and yet again the weather was not ideal. We have wanted to come back to this area for a while and today was going to be the day.....Rain, hail, or shine.... or all of the above!
This was one we have wanted to do for a while now and with the atrocious weather there was not a muggle in sight today to hinder our search and the cache was quickly located.
Thanks KTCvic for the cache. Smile

14-Oct-13
No one around today so could have a good ole hunt TFTC SL

Another cache on our tour through australia! TFTC Smile

26-Sep-13
We were at the airfield restaurant for geobrother's birthday and a cray meal but a check of the area revealed a nearby cache that had to take precedence. Negotiating the large puddle around GZ was tricky but eventually found the cache at 12:25. Now for lunch. TFTC

02-Jul-13
Found at 19:00 - A caching run in the Cranbourne area is getting results. 2 DNF in Tooradin due to muggles not moving from GZ slowed the find rate. A 2 minute search by torch light had the cache in hand. Logged and returned to the cache mobile, windy place Big Grin
TFTC

15-Jun-13
Found this one tonight - you realise how much rain there has been when you see puddles on the ground such that children can't use the playground without getting wet. I am glad this cache was near but not in the playground - though some muggles that came past while I was looking for the cache thought I was telling them that there was a puddle nearby where they were walking. I didn't feel like explaining caching to them. Signed log but didn't swap anything.

Thanks for the cache KTCvic.

01-Jun-13
Thanks KTCvic for taking over this cache for me. Hopefully you will have fun reading the logs of this sometimes hard top find cache Big Grin.

We found this cache on our May caching holiday to Phillip Island.
The area is really beautiful and we got on the bikes for over 50kms for the 4 days we were in the area which we would never have usually have done on a holiday before geocaching!
Thanks to the cache owners for the fantastic caches you have placed in this area of Victoria.

Another pesky cache that we drive past at least twice weekly, driving us nuts that we haven't found it yet. Well today that all changes and what a feeling it is to not see it appear on the map. Nice hide which had M struggling for a bit. TNLNSL. TFTC KeMS

Found @ 10:54pm, find # 2158
I was passing by on the way home from a day on the rail trail and stopped here for a look around.
I have been past this one many times but there were always to many muggles about to even try and have a look, so this was the perfect time to search for this one and I did have to search as this was a bit tricky to find if you don't look properly.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for this cache

03-Apr-13
No skydivers about today and the area was deserted. Good cache and well hidden we looked for it for a good few minutes before it turned up. Good hide. SL.

This was another cache that we have tried for in the past but the place has always been busy. Today however at about 7pm the place was almost deserted and so we were able to find the cache. Then we stayed a while watching a few sky divers floating down. One poor guy landed in the fields on the other side of the highway so he had a fair walk back.

Out for a caching afternoon with Zombiedogs, this was to be the last of the day.

Well, with everyone looking (Zombiepuppy had a REALLY good look at the playground), and everyone's GPS pointing to the same spot, we really thought this would be a quick find. It was not to be! There were a lot of muggles around, so we tried to be subtle. When that method failed to find the cache, we stopped being subtle, and looked EVERYWHERE. But obviously not in the right spot, because we just could not find the silly thing. Oh well, will have to try again another day.

28-Jan-13
This was meant to be number 7 and final for the day, but absolutely could not find it with 6 people looking...grrrr

03-Jan-13
Having driven past a cache just previously we made sure we stopped at this one. We just found it before some muggles came along - that was lucky. TFTC.

Find # 2042

Well, it is the first day of September and the first day of spring and oh what a day, so SedgwickDave and I were headed to Cannons Creek, then zig zagging east towards Lang Lang for our traditional weekend cache run.

I had attempted this one this morning, but just when I got to GZ, A guy parked his car and sat in the back looking right in my direction, so, I left and we came back this evening on the way home. This was a tricky one with no obvious place, but I managed to find it in the end.

Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the cache.

After a look around without luck, tried a different approach and soon found cache, TFTC

Another TDC (The Demolition Crew) run with my caching mates Quasar3671 and TrailRunning. This run took us out to the SE suburbs, and area I was very familiar with having lived in SE suburbs before moving to the country. Not huge numbers, but some good caches and as always a lot of talk, jokes and just fun in general. Little bit of a challenge here, but got it after a bit of a hunt. TFTC.

06-Aug-12
As 5 pm ticked over I was ready to race out the door at work for another great night of caching with the TDC (Quasar3671, Blacklegend & myself). The run had us in an area well known to one of the TDC members, but we were still able to pick up some newly published caches for him too. It started through the south east of Melbourne down to Caldermeade and then looped back to Karkarook Park, where I left the guys to try their hand at Wherigo caching. We had a fun night all round and with the rain holding off for the night. This one had us for a while but we found it int he end. Nicely done!

05-Aug-12
Quick find there tonight. Would be a great place to watch the the local Parachute club jump on a nice sunny day.

05-Aug-12
Have only ever driven past. Tonight we stopped in for an easy find. Muggle picnickers would make it difficult.

13-Jul-12
Found on the way south to pick up Granma from respite. It was a mixed day's caching with about 50/50 find rate on a very overcast day. This one was a nice easy find though. TFTC

26-Apr-12
Found while out caching with Biggles Bear on an Anzac Day cache run. We had tried for this cache some time ago. Back then, the ground was extremely wet and partially underwater, and our GPSs led us to an area which we searched unsuccessfully. Today we returned, and again the area was quite wet, but we were led to a different spot, where the cache was located after a couple of minutes.

Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the cache.

25-Apr-12
Found 17:50, our last find for our day out with Muzza. We tried this one last year with Muzza, and failed to find it, on that day our GPS units had us searching in an area several meters away, but today our units had us right on target and the cache was found after a brief search.

TNLN, CSI=2, thanks Gonefishen07.
