Logs
Found it very easily. Had to add a new paper log as the current one is soaked. TFTC!
It is still there it was not wet and seemed to be in goodies condition fun find
Great walk, Found but log is saturated so couldnt sign unfortunately, needs new logTFTC
Once upon a time a cacher needed a find for the souvenir he was collecting. A regular sized cache would make a nice trophy too. So off he went, on another sunny mild Wellington winter’s day, and shortly arrived at a squelchy track. After a short muddy ascent the adventurer arrived where the signs indicated, and quickly spotted the quarry. All 3 containers had collected water, but he bravely poured it out and diligently initialled the log with his trusty Swiss Army pen. He returned the treasure downside up. Cheers for the quest jessiemac88!
Easy find after looking about a bit.
The log book is not signable, it has formed into one soggy log of paper. The exterior container is damaged.
Would suggest maintenance is required for this one.

Went down three different theory state walking parts with the train was certainly not as advertised and unable to find it anywhere one hunting for over an hour and Real Estate conditions and the weather was getting increasingly bad so we’ve gone back to the car.
Poor instructions splitting trails the haps at something that’s only for locals? Wish us luck for our next smiley

Instructions were very unclear. Multiple parks, multiple path entrances and forks on said paths make finding this very difficult for someone not familiar with the area
Found it but it's water logged didn't have supplies on me to fix it up. Might head back here soon and bring a new container and waterproof it. Story is heavily water damaged
Lovely track- having an explore before watching Master Seabreeze play hockey! A pity there is no story to add to anymore. As mentioned, log quite damp. Managed to write in it but water does get in here now.
If starting a new tale, I’d pick up on the Story of the Kea- A long, long time ago the land was covered by one enormous forest. It had every kind of tree.
There were rimus and totaras and beech trees and kauris. And there were countless other trees which were taller or shorter, wider or bushier and covered with flowers of every colour you could imagine….

Gorgeous Sunday afternoon cache. Needs maintenance. Water in box and tracking sheet very wet.
Left a trackable that we’ve had for way too long with the pandemic.

We took the kids to Maidstone Park and I decided to walk back over the hills to look for a couple of caches. GPS a bit out so I looked behind a few things before spotting the cache.
The cache is a bit soggy and the log is very wet and almost useless. I would have replaced it but didn't have my geokit with me.
Thanks for the cache.
I took the TB.

A lovely track; can't believe it's the first time here! At GZ my phone said I was still 10 m away. Focus on the left side going downhill just 1 m off the track. No need to go bush! TFTC.
Easy find but unfortunately water has got into all 3 containers ruining the paper
A nice quick find thanks, on a ice walkway.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Note to self: Don't go caching during your lunchbreak when it's really hot and humid after rain!
Yeah, I know that now, but that was what I did today, and ended up heading back to the office wishing I could change my clothes!
The cache itself was a straightforward find, but lots of water inside. Tipped it all out and just about managed to sign the log. Replaced it all in such a way as to have a fighting chance of the log not getting waterlogged further.
Thanks for setting up this cache. Dropped a TB into it in the hope that it doesn't stay there too long...

The last find before heading back up the hill to the car.
Everything had water in it. Tipped it out and squeezed the log. Thanks for placing the cache

Found on a walk with friends on a beautiful sunny day. Loved the gorgeous beech trees. TFTC
On a quick trip to Wellington for a funeral, and catch up with friends and family. Have a couple of hours before the main event just down the road. So decided to go for a walk. From Higher Ground I back tracked and went to higher ground again to get to this one. I was looking forward to this log book. But sadly it was absent. Tagged the log and went on my way. Cheers
Nice little walk for a decent size geocache. Put something in but didnt take anything out..
TFTC nice walk up extra fitness carrying a pram up the steps, not pram friendly FYI lol
Take the left track like they suggested lol. Right track is steep and long (but great views). Storybook is missing
GPS jumped around quite a bit causing me to go quite a bit off track. Found eventually in an obvious spot
Took us a lot longer than I should've, as the coords were pointing to it being on the other side of the path. A good sized cache! TFTC, greetings from Auckland
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Really hot here today as well made the hike to the cache. First layer was very wet and dirty filled with rubbish but the main cache is good and well maintained with a working pen that is rare. Thanks for the cache!
The lad had a footy game on the turf this morning , so while the team warmed up and then played the first half, I went for a wander up into the bush. Cache number three this morning after strolling around and enjoying the area. Nice and easy find.
Many thanks for placing the cache.
"Once upon a time .... there were no caches, then along came the Big Blue Switch and Geocaching came to be. Now we all get to write great stories because if nothing had happened there would be nothing to tell."

Found quickly shame that the story is no longer there, Cache needs a bit of TLC as the log sheet was soaked and the Swag was looking in poor condition.Loved the concept of the story and thought someone could make and effort to get it started again but Online. TFTC
My son is playing football this evening on the nearby turf. Yes, I realise its a Monday but the Upper Hutt team wants to play since they are travelling overseas soon.
I had to leave work early so that I would be home in time to take him to the game. As it was, we got stuck in traffic and were a few minutes late.
I figured there was enough time to get up here and find the cache before kick off. I read the instructions and followed them. I found the cache in the first place I looked.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

Unfortunately we hadn't read the full cache description, and initially headed up the wrong track, but soon realised we were on the wrong side of a large re-entrant, so backtracked. We tried a few hint items before finding the large cache. TFTC
Wooden barrier steps have been added since the owner posted the photo. We could not find the cache and are wondering if it was moved when the steps were installed.
We did not give up. Our 5-year old grandson FINALLY found it. We added a U.S. penny
I parked up the top of Seymour Grove before the Farewell event this evening and headed down. Glad it was dry as that clay can be quite treacherous when wet. Got to GZ and spotted the container right away from the track. Opened up and tipped a bit of water from the outer, then buried my way in to get at the log sheet. Signed and then replaced. I then debated about whether to go back up and around to head for Leprechaun's First, or to continue down and then back up. I chose to go down, which turned out to be the better option, although I couldn't find that one. TFTC
(# 4870). If I took the correct track from the bottom it would have been a quick find. However.... Wrong track and instead of going back to the beginning I decided to do a little bit of bush bashing. Secretly - I quite enjoyed myself. Once I got to the GZ there was a bit of GPS bounce due to the tree cover. By process of elimination the container was found relatively quickly. Everything in order. TFTC
Down for the Wellington Mega with KirsTim & yorkshirekiwi83 and vistra for the weekend, picking up caches in the area along the way. Lots of fun had and some cool sights to see. Many thanks to all the cache owners for the great maintenance and their caches!
Out and about with Vamber, yorkshirekiwi83 & vistra gathering caches in Upper Hutt whilst in town for the Mega. Signed the log as KKKTST. We were in the park below finding pokemon, when a few of us popped up the track to grab this, no problems here.
Spent the long weekend down in Wellington and the surrounding region with Vamber, KirsTim and vistra, we were there for the Mega event and we picked up some caches along the way. Thanks to all caches owners. TFTC
I flew down to Wellington just for the day today to attend the WENZ Mega Event and I joined up with Yorkshirekiwi83, Vamber and KirsTim for a day's caching, which was focussed primarily on caches in the Hutt Valley area - signing all logs as KKKTTS. Whilst wandering around the park, pursuing another hobby, we took a walk up the hill to find this cache, which was soon found at GZ. TFTC!
After a long drive this morning, made longer by a road closer and a detour, we thought we'd have a wander and stretch the legs, so headed to this area.
Fortunately it was nice and quiet at GZ with no muggles to be seen, so it was a quick search and find.
We left an alphabet stone - the letter L.
Thanks for setting this up jessiemac88

Wow we couldn't find it for a long time but at least we did. Good long walk.
this is the biggest cache we've found so far, 8 year old son spotted this one, contents all soaking wet, we emptied out the container and managed to sign the log, but it could really do with replacing, no story, hopefully someone will start a new one, neat little bush walk, good view from the top
We thought this was going to be a super quick find - didn't realise we'd go on a mini-hike - wasn't quite dressed for the occasion - enjoyed it none the less. Container, log sheet and all contents wet - but managed to sign it. TFTC
Looks like the story is told, I added a strip of paper to act as a lob-book, nothing in there tonight. Headed down to here from the lookout up above, a nice littl walk and nice area, thanks fro bringing me here.

Probably the last meaningful chance to find a few caches on this 'overseas' trip so just a couple of not so Q E F s to get the numbers bumping along and rounded up. Eventually managed to get the 5 caches on the list, but only after the (now seemingly obligatory) couple of DNFs. A cold wind blowing through the area today, and the whole country, and rain in the air too. Even grabbed details for a couple of Multi caches to find if I get a chance tomorrow, hopefully.
Thanks for the caching experience Wellington, I will be back!
