It looks like Red Letter day is no more. Quite fitting really, as our Girls weekends we had just down the road (that it was in honor of), are no more either- as the house we used was sold. Time to archive and hopefully someone else may take a shine to one of the lovely old trees in the future and place another cache. It was always fun climbing the tree to check the cache, and I hope those who found this cache let their inner child loose & enjoyed it too!
Cheers

Couldn't find it. I had a really good look and there weren't many possibilities for the hiding place so this geocache may need to be looked at.
Two cold monkeys down by the sea
Looking all around the tree
Climbing up and looking round
And now we log a Do not Found

We searched for 30 mins we are worried it may have fallen elsewhere from high winds? We will have to come back
Out this way for other reasons but what a lovely day for a drive. Actually pretty warm for winter. I made a mess of finding the cache and was actually contemplating logging a dnf (and feeling useless) when I made the find. I should trust the cache attributes but was pleased to try all things. A nice cache. I like the simple ones. I enjoyed the reason behind this placement. Tftc
Very nice location TFTC, does need a new log which I will replace next time I am in Queenscliff. Nice to think like a kid again
Grabbing a few caches while pootling back to our accommodation in Geelong, thanks 42below.
Out with Maggiedot today on the hunt for caches. When it was located there was a sigh from MaggieDot because she was wearing a dress, but I had only just got out and about again after spending half of January in bed with a seized back. There was no way I was able to retrieve it. A passing Muggle did a 'double take' as she bent down to place the log back and nearly flashed him. It did stop him asking us what she was doing . Thanks for the cache 42below.
With work, holidays and injuries, it's been a while since AutumnTree and I have been out geocaching together. It was lovely to find a day when we were both free, and we headed out after school drop off. The Do You Believe In... series was first in our sights and then we collected a few more around Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.
After finishing the Do You Believe In... series and having some lunch in Queenscliff, we had plenty of time for a few more caches before heading back for school pickup!
This was where I was expecting that it would be but hoping that it was not. It's a hot day, so although I was wearing sensible shoes, I was wearing a frock. AutumnTree was not able to perform the retrieval so it was up to me - apparently a gentleman passing by did a bit of a double take as I was signing the log. Sigh.
Log signed and all replaced as found.
TFTC!

After doing some of the bay trail in sorrento yesterday, and having to go over to geelong today, myself and mrslukie1987 decided to catch the ferry over to queenscliffe and do a few caches on our drive through. TFTC
At Pt Lonsdale for a beach holiday. Found this cache on a walk back from the marine discovery centre on a cool Friday. Great location, brought back memories when I was a kid.
Found at 14:57
I don't like finishing the day on a dnf so a quick stop while on our way and we had this one found quickly. I had the kids with me and they were quickly in the right spot with the cache in hand.
Thanks 42below for the cache.

Thanks 42below for the cache.
While in town for work, I took the opportunity to find a few caches after dinner. There were some easy, and some not-so-easy, but all were fun! Thanks for the cache
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find - Mrs y'stassie retrieved this one. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 42below for the cache.
Staying on after the Surf Coast Event we concentrated on completing some puzzle caches and this was one of them. An easy find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We came from the beach. A lovely walk back to this cache. Awesome fine. Thank you.
Not hard to think what a kid would do in this spot,e specially with three kids in tow. A nice cache for a short walk from where we are staying with kelshandra.
I was caching with my niece and nephews so we had the kid minds covered. A nice find, thanks!
Nice easy find by 7yo geokid. Easy to think like a kid when you are one! TFTC
Found with Geo-Dad (SirJ-Oz)
I like the caching, but not so much the logging. SirJ-Oz is logging all my old finds.
Thanks for the cache 42below

Find #2534. Found @ 16:04 with skirrel.
Staying nearby and I dragged skirrel out for a walk to collect a few caches.
This was the first of the walk. Once we got to the area, the coordinates seemed not to indicate the most likely location. A quick search produced the desired result and the cache was found.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

Found on a caching expedition with NikLibSteph, who went in to find the cache itself.
Nice hide in a nice spot. TFTC

Day 3 of our geoholiday in Victoria and today we are tackling the other half of this bike track, we started at G2Q Curlewis: End of the Line and finished at Queenscliff, after finishing the bike track we drove around grabbing a few of the other caches in the area before heading back to camp for a well deserved nights slapp, a huge Thank you to all the COs that placed these caches for us to find. TFTC
Found at 3:00 PM GAFF1.
We couldn't find this cache when we were here in 2013 - it was missing. Today, went straight up to it and appreciated the little nook that you stay in to sign the log book
Thanks 42below.

After tea drive led us here to this cache a quick hunt and think like a kid had the treasure in our possession tftc
We were actually struggling but after reading the hint it was an easy and fun cache
Passing through to Queenscliff and stopped for this cache. If there is one type of cache I hate it is a tree climb but even for me this one was not to bad. Thanks for the cache 42bellow, I think all you girls would look great with your zimmers on the soft sand.
Staying at the nearby caravan park and tonight the geokids (4 & 6) and I went for a walk after dinner to give dad some time to watch the cricket. An easy find here as cache was on the ground exposed. We popped it back where we think it goes. Thanks for the cache
Staying at the nearby BIG4, and stopped to log this find on an early evening walk. Thank you for the cache 42below.

Day 2 Geelong,
Today we thought we would start on the D2B trail before completing some more of the G2Q.
The area around Queenscliffe is very pretty, water views from many caches.
This was the last find of the day on our way home, just before it started raining.
Thanks for placing this cache 42below

After lunch on Tuesday, I asked a friend at the conference if he'd mind dropping me back a few kilometres along the highway so I could geocache my way back to the conference location (the fabulous Queenscliff Town Hall) He was happy to oblige, as he was heading to Point Lonsdale to visit a friend.
It was a glorious winter's afternoon, probably much nicer than the weather in Melbourne. It was lovely to be out and about and geocaching.
This was a quick and easy find. TFTC, 42below.

I was in Queenscliff for exactly 48 hours for a conference! I was keen to see how many geocaches I could find in between discussions, meals and sleep
Quite a few others people were interested in what I kept ducking out to do, but only one or two had actually heard of geocaching.
Queenscliff is a lovely place - it was my first time there! Thank you to everyone who placed geocaches in the area so that I could see the best bits

Found with OutRangerous on dusk. Luckily we both are 'big' kids, so cache was quickly in hand. TFTC
with the sun already set this became our last successful cache for the day. easy find luckily or else it would have been back to the car for torches.
Spending a day on the Bellarine Peninsula in the company of Alansee and micaparamedic picking up a few caches.
Alansee spotted this one and was soon at GZ retriving the cache and adding our names. micaparamedic had already found this one so to save room in the log we signed as "ATC". Alansee and Team Crackers.
Thanks 42below for showing us a place you obviously enjoy.

One Family - One Ferry Ride - This Way To The Otways Trail - 3000th Cache
Saturday saw us board the 9am Ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff, the smooth trip and views were the highlight. Leaving Queenscliff we made our way to Mount Moriac finding a few caches on the way before starting the caching in earnest. We had lunch at Moriac before winding our way to Barwon Downs gathering caches along the way. We found our 3000th cache then headed home grabbing a few caches on the way, arriving home in time to catch the Storm v Panthers game!!!
Even though we fell seven caches short of completing the trail, time was getting away from us. We had a great day with many a laugh and stirring. I am sure the area was echoing with "Found It!!" screamed out as Katy and Campbell's competitive juices flowed. I am sure I heard from the drivers seat at one stage hearing found it x 2, jinx x 2, double jinx, bounce off the roof, doh, followed by hysterics. Another incident was Campbell pushing past Katy to find a cache, to be pushed away himself, falling backwards on a tussock landing on his butt!!
Campbell was asked to climb and look, nah nothing, dig in there, nope, as somthing hits his foot, yep the cache!!
We had a blast all day finding caches and thank the owners for hiding them for us to find!!!

TFTC 42below. A nice hide and good hint. Jimmytherat with Noelle04. Probably the last cache for an enjoyable day on the Bellarine.
Nice hide but showing brightly from the ground so after signing log I rehid it upside down now it does not shine
