Still unrepaired. I don't think this one will be likely to be back any time soon. Might be time to call last drinks shortly....
Boardwalk is still messed up… nearby path has been fixed up so hopefully they will get to this bit soon…
Hi Ngaambul,
As per previous note -- the structure that this cache relied upon has been destroyed by the floods. As of a couple of days ago, at least, it still looks the same as in the last photo.
Council are currently working on restoring the boardwalk further downstream, I am waiting to see what they do with the area around GZ once that's complete....

George’s house has not only flooded above the rooftop, but his foundations have washed away.
I happened to bump into the council employee responsible for the path and platform the other day. He hadn’t yet seen the state of the shelter, so I showed him a photo — response was “ I should probably go and check that out.”
Chances are that George won’t be rebuilding his home here anytime soon. I was going to archive the cache but given the age of it I’ve had one request to keep it disabled and wait to see what council does, so I will do so until the reviewers lose patience with me.

Aaaand it’s coming back home again for a while.
Water levels already rising and MBRC says “BoM Severe Weather Warning for INTENSE rainfall later tonight.”
GZ will no doubt be underwater for the next few days.

Sorry this one took so long. Back in place now and ready to find, George is getting lonely down here!
Almost floated away but I caught it in time. Coming back home with me until the waters subside.
Checked on George on my walk this evening. He is still there along with his cache, all in good order!
Found George after asking for some help and went to the final coords. Unfortunately could not find the cache anywhere despite a long search. Found a plastic jar with no lid that could have been it...
Maintenance check. Cache has clearly seen a bit of water around it after the week’s deluge but seems perfectly fine inside.
Thanks to GeoNayfee for assisting myself &’ stephyy in locating this cache — deffs loved it
Finally can turn this into a smile !! After coming back so many times. We asked for help so thank you.
I've been home the past week bored out of my mind, so I thought I'd head out towards Eatons Hill to grab myself a few caches. The main target today was to get a few more letters for April as this month's just about over. I managed R & I, so all that's remaining is P which I'll grab another time. It was a very pleasant morning outside, very quiet, but I did come across a few people doing their morning walk.
I had trouble finding George. I was looking everywhere and having zero luck!, so I had to PAF to set me off in the right direction. After getting a nudge from my PAF I was pushed into a more suitable spot and finally spotted George hiding away. That took me a lot longer then it should have, but that's fine because I managed to see some turtles and ducklings.

Cache would have been well in the drink, but it's now safely back where it belongs. Plenty of turtles and ducks out this afternoon!

Could not see it for looking so Brislions paf and there it was stareing him in the eyes ,

I ask if grannysmith1947 would like to do a multi. She said yes. So we took geodog Miss Millie. But my kids wanted to stay home.

note to self If a muggel asks you what you are doing don’t say your researching plants. You could find yourself taking to a botanist. Doh

I met George’s little brother. Big George was sunning himself on a log and took off when I pulled the camera out
Nice stroll to find George, who was found after a little searching. Found the cache with a curious bush turkey watching me intently. TFTC!
Retrieved cache to repair to some damage reported by last finder. Will be back soon!
Found this one while out and about today, picking up a few E caches for the November challenge. It's a beautiful little spot and great place to watch wildlife. The TB appears to be gone.

Met George a couple of weeks back, but was out muggled by Pokemon players taking down the gym (I had not choice but to join them...). Back again today with JACS Team to make the find. TFTC!
Had a full hospital day with King Lizard today, but starting at a decent hour that we could be assured to miss the school kids and pokemon players - well except one! Met up with Ardom to get this one complete. King Lizard was surprised by the hide location.
Fired up the laptop this morning & found we had issues with getting our geocaching account to function properly?
Tried out the official app on both our phones & then tried c:geo but both didn't want to play nice.
What to do when we can't access cache information properly???
Go caching anyway … there are ways & means to achieve positive results regardless. LOL …
On arrival in the vicinity of GZ we found we had a short walk ahead of us.
The chain was down but a muggle in orange fluros was on guard nearby as if waiting for someone to appear.
Mrs VC set out down the path in search of George whie I parked the Geo-Beast directly opposite Mr Muggle & played who can stare longest ... I won.
Next minute a truck turned up & headed down the path Mrs VC had taken so I sent a message alerting to impending company ... perhaps.
Apparently there has been work done on the boardwalk on previous occasions, perhaps again now?
Next thing a a couple of large trucks arrived, giving me odd looks, & offloaded (tipped) several large sandstone blocks near the entrance to the pathway.
It was about now that I got a 'thumbs up' text from Mrs VC, got it!
Made our mark & replaced as found.
Just in time, things are getting quite busy around here!
Back in the Geo-Beast Mrs VC informed me that allthe workers were NOT near GZ but actually building a sandstone block wall behind the houses next to the path. LOL ...

In August 2014, we ventured to this one in the dark. Crazy move. It has taken this long to get back to this one but finally located George and the cache. TFTC
Have attempted this one quite a few times but finally succeeded today. First geocache find too. Thanks for the challenge.
Hot on the heels of the maintenance crew fixing the boardwalk, some idiot has tried to set it alight.
It clearly wasn’t very effective. I have reported the damage to the Council, who have promptly taped off access to George.
However, with some keen eyes and only the slightest amount of contortion, you can still get the info you need without crossing the tape.
GZ itself is accessible and unharmed, and the cache is still in place.

Great little multi cache in a serene sort of spot with a lots of ducks and turtles. TFTC
I happened to stroll down to GZ last week and noticed the maintenance crew had *finally* started work -- they were vigorously working only metres from GZ.
I was able to determine that the cache was still in place at the time, but didn't feel like drawing attention to it, so I moved on.
Back today to check. Looks like my fears were unfounded. Thanks, MBRC Bridge Crew

Hooray! Logged a DNF on 31st December 2011, and I'm happy to say a FOUND today.
George was spotted after breaks to let the muggles watch turtles.
Soooo satisfying Thanks EngPhil

After some looking down and up finally found George and then the cache. Muggle ducks nearby
Hoping to replace this one this week. Planned council maintenance doesn't seem to be progressing at the moment...
Looks like the maintenance crew might not be far off. They are making repairs further along the trail today, though they tell me their current work order doesn't cover this bit...yet...
I'm sure the council works won't start here until I replace the cache, at which time it'll disappear....
Holding off still, for now. I might need to find a temporary hide somewhere nearby....

Checked the area again today. Maintenance work appears to still be planned. Holding off on replacing for now. Keeping an eye on this one every week at this stage.
Still not 100% happy with conditions around GZ. Cache staying away for a little longer.
Checked. All good and well stocked but not replaced in the correct spot (it is now!)
The hide seems to have become home to a colony of annoying ants.

Why find one multi on this walk when you can find two, plus the name of this cache is meant for us. When we arrived at the first waypoint Mrs SP realised that she had in fact done this one before, so she left us to go searching for what we needed. We soon had waypoint one and moved along.
At the final Mrs 4ando reached in to grab the cache and holy freaking hell, a cache guardian!!!!!! Neither of the other two in our party were fazed by the eight legged beast, always the way, the one that has spider phobia gets the closest to it, it should have been one of them that pulled it out. Once the log was signed we were super excited to get moving back to the car for the next cache…

Friday. Mr SP was out playing golf so Mrs SP accepted an invite from the 4Andos to go and grab some caches.

Off for a wander after a night shift. Nice and warm this morning, but it was still a pleasant stroll, and it was surprisingly cool along the creek.
I think I got lucky here. My actions allowed me to find George almost straight away.
Armed with new info I was soon at the final location and my name in the log. Took a TB to move along.

Earlier in the day I had come to the posted coordinates to look for George. Using the hint I even knew where to look but couldn't find anything. That's when I started getting down low and lying in the dirt to look under the boardwalk. I stuck my head into places I never want to go again but nothing popped out. After about 30 minutes I was sweating my ring out, not to mention that I was covered in dirt and corruption and was thoroughly over this cache.
I sat down to read some logs which didn't help and in the end put out a desperate SOS to Orange Crew for a lifeline. The lifeline finally came through just as I was leaving the area because a family were approaching.
After finding some other caches, I returned seeking vengeance. Armed with some key information I found George rather easily. I gave myself a really good kick in the backside for missing it in the first place. It was clear I had searched all the obscure and difficult locations without checking the obvious. George, you won't be getting an invitation to my next Xmas party.
Next I was expecting a hard slog to GZ. I had spent so much time today walking to all the wrong spots and searching for a long time for little reward that I expected nothing different. One more visit to the dirt for this cache and my name was finally in the log book. The fight is on George. tftc

Finally found George. He was damned elusive last time, but thanks to a PAF from MinnieMoo I knew he had to be there. Sure enough, how could I have missed him before? Took the TB and released my first one into the wild. Let's see how long it lasts.
Thanks for the cache, EngPhil! I just LOVE ammo cans, and the kids got a couple of nice swaps.

Well, nice to finally meet you George. First visit was a lovely sunny day, found lots of turtles and ducks and had absolutely no idea where George was. This time George was less shy, maybe he likes rainy days. Enjoyed the well stocked cache. Took a TB, left a TB.
Out for a day of caching with KerriMG.
Saw that there was a mutli nearby so decided that we would give this one a visit. Arrived at GZ which was a lovely spot and started our search for George. Having done a few of the CO's other multi's we thought we knew what we were looking for with George and after reading the clue we thought we knew where to look. We looked high we looked low, we looked over there and back over here but we just couldn't see George.
We sat and read previous logs but still couldn't find him. We were thinking of calling it a day, but I was determined to find George to find out what I had missed. I had a final look around and exactly where we thought Geroge should be and exactly what we thought George would be was what I found. I have no idea how we didn't find George 40 minutes ago!!!
Then it was a very quick find of Geroge's cache.
Thanks EngPhil, it was a lovely spot to wander around in.

Out for the day with nikid1 around the Eatons Hill area.
I love a multi but I was not very fond of George after spending a crazily long time searching for him! We headed down the boardwalk to this very beautiful section of river admiring the picturesque scene & thought we knew exactly what we were looking for & had a fairly good idea of where to look for it. Turns out we were pretty spot on, on both accounts so why it took us so long to find George I really can't explain!!
We searched all likely spots, moved to the other little deck area & searched there, read some logs, searched the same areas again, had a seat & mulled things over, searched again & were just about to call it a day when nic calls out that she found George. Yey! But how had we missed him the first gazillion times we searched....
Final co-ords calculated & we soon had the great sized cache in hand. Swaps made, discovered the TB & left another one. Log signed & cache replaced as found.
TFTC & the frustration & eventual triumph EngPhil

Replaced and good to go. Looks like a lot of the debris that was washed up here has gone, too.
Glad I pulled this one out. Water would have been well over George's head!
Will return in the next few days.
Will return in the next few days.
After several attempts at locating George at last I log this cache. Have taken a thong key ring and left a purple troll! Great one for the kids!
Had an early start to try and beat the heat on what's to be a quite warm day. Parked at Cash's Crossing and enjoyed the walk to finally meet the mysterious George. Have been at this spot before when George was away but today managed to find his contact numbers then dropped by his abode where he was lying low and full of mysteries. Thanks for keeping this multi going EngPhil.
Another very warm day today. A quick walk along to the GZ and spotted the numbers from below. A small walk back and found it neatly tucked in. TFTC EngPhil

Well I can tell you this. George is not really as bad a fellow as everyone makes out. I've chatted with him myself today and he was very kind to let me in on a few little secrets about himself.
See I was here yesterday in the rain with 1GiantPanda. Boy was I here, and I crawled all over, under and around, but George did not want to come out in the rain and play. Even after an eventually very desperate message to the CO, which I'm sure George heard, he did not trust me enough to approach. However some muggles did and eventually I decided I needed to drag 1GiantPanda away from the creek where he was enjoying the turtles, moorhens, ducks and lizards, and come visit him on my own another time.
And after school drop off this morning I decided was the time. So, heading down there once more I was determined to befriend the little chap. And then some muggles came along, so I had to sit a while and zen myself waiting for them to disappear. And obviously being calm helps around George.
You see poor George has spent all this time being very shy and upset because once he did something which he thought was kind, but it made girls cry, and then he got teased and bullied and someone made a mean rhyme about him and they called him "Pudding Pie". So he was unsure about coming out yesterday when 1GiantPanda was there for fear of being teased, and he didn't want to make me cry. But he does want everyone to understand him. And at the end of our chat he gave me a kiss (and was so happy I didn't cry), and he showed me another secret he was guarding nearby.
So please, when you go looking for George, be kind to him. He's not bad at all, just shy and misunderstood.
Thanks for the cache EngPhil. An FP from me for the frustration involved, the determination not to let it beat me, and for allowing me to meet George, a nice little fellow!

Tftc found on a very sunny day in a beautiful spot with Bear0503 and Quesera and Rusty the geo dog
What a beautiful spot. Never new this place existed. After a very thorough search of the area, Que Sera hound the clue and George was found not long after. Working on September challenge when finding this cache
had our day planned to find caches to complete the september challenge with bear0503, sharpem and rusty . this one looked like a good fit. we got distracted when new notifications came out and we got 3 ftf . thought we may run into co but did run into minnie moo.anyway we had alot of trouble finding george but persistence pays off and what a great hide. soon had coordinates to find next waypoint and soon the cache was in hand. added to swaps . what a lovely spot thanks for taking us here
I did find the cache exactly where it belongs. Not sure exactly how high above the cache the waters came, but it's definitely had a bit to Drink, so has been taken home to sober up. Should be back soon!
Suspect this one might be somewhere downstream now, after yesterday's river levels. Will check when I can....
I think I may have visited here once before but left when muggles took over the area. Today, my phone took me straight to a likely spot but despite examining it from every possible angle, getting down and dirty, I found zip. I found some great places for ingenious hides but none was forthcoming.
Suddenly a systematic search gave me a result, though it wasn't what I expected.
After out waiting a muggle who suddenly turned up, I made the easy grab and enjoyed inspecting the contents.
TFTC which is in great condition.

Visited George today, he reports that the water levels are fine, so we returned his cache to him. Happy hunting!
We have been meaning to have a look at this multi for quite a while, but we never seemed to have time whenever we had found ourselves in the area. Today however, we managed to have a little bit of time to spare to take a look and have a short visit with George. Armed with the information required for ground zero, we soon had a nice cache in our hands.
Thank you EngPhil for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

Second attempt here for this one for me with sonqld. Read and re-read previous logs hoping to find a clue. Previous loggers ar eright its not what u expect and the clue really helps if u think about it. I found the clue and sonqld did the honours of retrieving George's ammo can. Thanks for this little adventure that wasted so much time but provided some fun, views, laughs and frustration. Well done to the co.we retrieved the bugs will log them later on the computer and decide who will send them on their way. Cheers
Glad to find this one. Third time out here. Nice ro see the grass is gone snd they have paved it. Took the TB. not what i thought George would look like. Being half blind without glasses made it a bit difficult. Lucky live2trek and tead.
Maintenance check. All ok with both waypoint and cache. Dropped off three trackables that have been languishing in my backpack for way too long -- my apologies to their owners.
Could not find George too much long grass will have to try again live2trek gps had different gps signal to what I got couldn't pinpoint it down
Oh George you annoying little thing ! Found you eventually haha !

Thursday. Kerry from Slow Puncture was out and about with the aim of collecting the last two letters/cache types required for Fangsoki's "Can you spell December..." Challenge. This was one of them
A lovely area here and one which I never knew was even here. I love boardwalks, and this one was no exception. Made my way to GZ and looked for George. Had a good look around and tried not to look too conspicuous with a young mother and two children in the area I was wanting to check out. No luck here and in the end had to PAF on this one. After getting the idea of what I was needing to find, George was found quickly, new co-ords entered and off to the cache. What a great spot to hide a sizeable container! Very well done and well executed indeed. Loved this cache. Took some photos of the ducks, turtles and little fish.
This was the 11th of 12 caches found on this trip.
Thanks [Blue]EngPhil[/Blue], for showing us this place.

Finally made the discovery after a rare fourth attempt, which is highly uncharacteristic for me as I grow impatient rather quickly. I was determined because I needed a letter "E" for a certain annoying challenge nearby (yeah you know which one that is). On my second attempt, I finally located George. Strangely enough, he was speaking a similar but slightly indiscernible language. I was beginning to think George was not who he was claiming to be. A message to CO confirmed I indeed was led astray. This George was nothing but a cheap Chinese knock-off, well unless you're into that other thing. Now I have appealed to a veteran finder of this cache (something else I rarely do) who steered me in the right direction. Making my way out at dark this time I finally spotted the little turd. This George sang like a canary. He gave me the coords I needed for the final location. Well-hidden container was nice and dry in its snuggly little resting place. A very well crafted multi. Thanx EngPhil. FP from me.
A previous visit yielded only disappointment, I was searching the wrong spot apparently. The resident duck was very interested in me last time but today was nowhere to be seen he/she may have moved on to greener pastures.
Today I found the decoy minute before George virtually leaped out at me, and the container was easily located. All safe and dry here, TFTC EngPhil

This was our first multi cache EVER!! We really enjoyed finding the co-ordinates! TFCT:)
I'm curious, curious about George. Haha. Where could this small chap be? I looked everywhere, even on bended knee. Alas it seems George is not for me. Tftc. Maybe another day.
I had some business to attend to in the north of Brissie so I thought I'd find a few caches on the way in this morning. It was a bit damp around the place but not too cold and the river was looking very peaceful and calm. Not many of the locals were awake, not even George, so I searched quietly so as not to disturb anyone. I looked here and there and eventually spied the little fella with the required information sitting beside him. I set the device to point to the new location and took a photo of the water before moving off.
After a little bit of a hike I arrived at GZ and inconspicuously looked in the obvious places. Ah.. there it sat in perfect tranquility and I caused minimal disturbance to sign the log and be on my way. Thanks for the nice little multi EngPhil - there should be more of them!

Now don't think me harsh, but I don't like George, not one little bit. The first time I went to visit him, he hid in the shadows and sent his Munzee minion to act as a decoy and put me off his trail. But George I am persistent. I spoke to someone who had previously made your acquaintance and I thought I could coax you out to say hello. Now George it takes two to have a relationship, you have to put yourself out there, be up front. Unfortunately you decided to thumb your nose at the hand of friendship, after I spent so long looking for you, so instead of 'hello my friend George', it was a very grumpy 'there you are you tricky little...', well we won't go there. I got your number (well numbers) George and headed off to the cache that was waiting for me with open arms. I can't believe it took me over 30 minutes to find George, but I got there in the end. TFTC EngPhil, it drove me nuts, LOL!
Looked and looked and could not find it! After reading the previous logs, it seems that it should be rather easy, but not obvious to me! Disappointing
I found this one. I traded a barbie toy for a tooth fairy toy. I loved the duck ( we called him George) he was very friendly and didn't peck me
