Unfortunately the council have closed the track, and taped it off and signed it as closed.
This was a nice walk but yes, the path is closed. I found the location easily enough but no sign of a cache. Is it still there?
We couldn't make it to GZ as access via the path from the north has been closed. I am not sure if there is another way to get it, but it may be worth checking out. Thanks for the hide anyway.
Before settling down for the night, and while it wasn't raining, we, MVMB and Cookie, headed on down with our headlights and struck on through to the GZ. Just a short hunt and soon found the container.

(Late logging of Find - 1/2/13) Found with MAP's and Cookie while on a road trip North.
Nice to be able to share the driving rather than having to pedal.
Not having seen one of these 'containers' before didn't help with the Finding of it, but we still got there with Cookie making the find.

2155 GAFF1 Well, didn't have any extra coordinates, but with MAP's and MVMtBiker joining me on my road trip to Qld (to help get x 75 caches in a month) the assistance of them was gratefully accepted.
Had seen something similar (in Darwin, of all places) so honed on in and grabbed the cache.
While this would have qualified for a night cache for the DGSc, I've got to get through the MGSc first of all. Yep, got the x 75 for a month, now how to find x 30 in a DAY, without using the MNCM Wander!?!

Almost gave up on this one but decided to PAF and with a slight adjustment we were able to find to sneaky little devil TFTC
Searched for quite a while for this one.... spotted some very large jumping ants so decided to move on... in the mean time, I used the PAF option and was told about the alternative coordinates, we returned with those loaded and soon found the cache.
Nice hide, thanks Fergclan

After the previous 2 DNF's, I decided not to continue with this one without a decent hint.
This took a bit of searching! Using the co-or's below i came within about 5 meters of it. Was looking for something unusual and eventually found it.
That took a bit of finding! Golden rule - always read the previous logs. TFTC.
This proved to be one of the most challenging caches I have attempted. Approach was rough and I got slashed to bits by a stray piece of wait-a-while vine. Searched forever, reading clues and logs. I figured out from the old logs that the coords had changed so I really widened the search up and down the slope, Finally gave up and walked back to the track to push on and there it was. There was some swearing and cursing. I suppose they can't all be happy moments. TFT challenge Ferg
Found late in the afternoon with Captain Terror after we finished hiking a nearby mountain with a bunch of other crazy cachers
tired and in pain we had some stupid idea that more hill climbing is a good thing... not one of our smarter moments I am sure.... we had a bit of trouble with this one until we tried the alternative co-ords and found those spot on and had the fellow in hand straight away

Headed home after a strenuous hike and I noted this nice bunch of caches too close to ignore so decided to grab them all. Maybe traipsing all over this hill after that hike wasn't the greatest idea I've ever had.Whint and I enjoyed the somewhat painful walk from down below up to GZ, and past the track closed sign (now sporting a worn track around said sign). Once at GZ, commenced the hunt to no avail. Thankfully Whint had her iPhone and the alternate co-ords were found. Using them put us 14m away from memory and once relocated there, the cache was a quick find to the trained cacher eye. Another find although it was more of a pain than needed to be. TFTC Fergclan
Nice walk from End A and a well camouflaged cache.
With the GPS again useless it took a while to find this cache.

Couldnt find this micro cache in the highly complex bush environment with an under-performing GPS and no hint! Guess im still a novice! Thanks for bringing me here though!
After three days of persistent rain we thought that this area would be took muddy underfoot to wander through looking for caches. We were very pleasantly surprised that, even though it was damp, the walking conditions were very good and we decided to tackle all the caches in the area. We searched around where our GPS thought GZ should be but without success. We widened the search area and after a while, located the cache in an excellent hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. TFTC Fergclan.
Wow this one almost had me but persistence paid off. Not to mention the additional co ordinates. TFTC Jackson Trio.
In the bush to collect some other caches, couldn't let these go, so on we head, Loved it, thanks Fergcian.
Out and about down the coast way today grabbing a few caches.
I'm still following the clankirks around but did not meet them. This cache took a bit of finding as I did not have the new co-ords. But I soon spotted something a little unusual and sure enough it was the cache.
The cache is dry. Thanks for the cache and the walk along this little piece of bush land.

wish I had brought my geohubby along for this one. I'm not great at seeing the obvious. Looked for some time. The GPS was all over the place. Defeated this time, but, I'll be back
Found quick and easy, when you know which side of ditch to look on. VERY CLEVER. TFTC.
Decided to start at this end 1st even though it "ENd B".
We too were confronted with a no go zone. Do they really think mad Geocachers like myself are going to turn back and let a cache or two go unfound, and have it drive us nutty knowing it's in there.
So on we went. Took the team a little bit, but with many eyes we found it.
TFTC
Favorite point because it really a lovely walk though here

Well the Girls are all having a day out down here and I am chauffeur and there are caches all around me so I'm happy to go and get some smileys.
I'm knocking down the Tugun Hill Caches and having changed parking location this is next for a smiley.
I haven't gone very far before I'm confronted with an orange safety barrier, will I or won't I, yeah why not, better to die in the attempt than never to have tried LOL.
Again I have to remind myself that as with the other Tugun Hill caches this one also includes the word HILL. Steps, Steps, Steps, Ah Flat, Steps, Steps, Steps AAARRRGGHHH.
Well I finally get to supposed GZ only to find that if I am to reach the cache I would either have to stretch out 11 metres in the air for WHAT? or go back down the path and try a different route.
You know, I keep on telling myself I should read the logs first but I don't listen, SO having read the logs I 1. See that someelse thought better of what I had done & 2. The cache coords are slightly out so I need to look in a different spot.
Thanks to L&LJ for their log about coords and others about out of place I eventually had the cache in hand.
What an idea!!!! Thanks Fergclan TFTC SL

The good old garmin led us straight to this one, which was lucky we could have done a lot of hunting otherwise. Liked it a lot, thanks Fergclan.
I happened to be in Coolangatta on business, so when finished I turned the GPS on and came up with a little cluster of caches just asking to be found. Stormy weather but there was a brollie in the car so I decided to brave it.
For some reason this path is fenced off at both ends. I couldn't find a reason for it. The path is in good condition. Maybe there had been some flooding previously.
Can't say I get too enthused with "No hint available" caches. Each to their own. The GPS wanted me to try the fenceline by the motorway to begin with. I managed to resist the urge. Wandered around a bit in the rain lacking inspiration and then stopped to read the logs. That gave me the inspiration to look in a different area. Container spotted quite quickly after that. 11M reading on the GPS. Nice container. Great hide.

Gps was not much help in here today, and no clue, so after searching for 20 mins and 2 ant bites, , I read the previous logs. The sitting down and finding just under my nose log, had me searching all the steps, thats where I would sit? didn't find nuffin!! Another log said they noticed somthing that didn't belong, or fit in here. So I looked under the carpet and the plastic sheets........nuffin!!!
Then on about the 3rd run down the steps I noticed the good old geotrail again going off into the scrub, when it peetered out I stood there for a while looking around and noticed somthing that didn't belong. Now my gps was 17m out, I was getting excited heading towards what didn't belong, and as I got closer I knew I had it. Grabbing the como and inspecting it I was pulling at the container.... Oh it dosen't come out just the lid comes off. Signed the log and moved off. I was gonna give up a few times on this one, but glad I didn't. Thanks Awesome cache... now that I have found it, but didn't like it much on a few occasions....

A rather sneaky hide that took a while to find. Obvious when I finally found it though.
Off to find the last couple.
Thanks

I was out and about with Fangsoki today and we swung past these two before heading home.
Fangsoki sat back and watched as I did what they call the "drunken bee dance" in search of the cache.
I found the tricky hide and all was good.
Thanks for the cache Fergclan. Nice one.

Overshot the general area of GZ at this cache, so on the way back noticed something that doesn’t normally reside in the bush. Had a look and there was our prize. Sometimes you got it and sometimes you don’t got it . Thanks for the caches. It was another pleasant stroll after finding the other nearby A.L. caches.
Arrived at GZ I started a search while goldielover took a seat and watched. After a while with no luck she joined in. I then located a well hidden little beast very close to where she was resting .Still more to find keep going.

This one was a tricky find. After pushing up through the bush we arrived within 4 metres of the GZ. I took a seat and watched Stairman1 have a scratch around the bush. As I got up to have a look Stairman1 grabbed the cache right under my nose . Tricky. TFTC
Didn't really come dressed for the occasion without our hiking boots. Felt a bit vulnerable in the leaves and rubble, and especially after almost stumbling into a nest of the BIGGEST ants I have ever seen! The GPS was playing whirly gigs as well, so we gave up.
I was a little cautious about trying to find a micro in the bush and then something seemed a little out of the ordinary and then of course it made sense. TFTC
Well, what a workout as we walked in from Tugun Hill III. We poked and foraged at GZ for a while before reading previous logs which gave us a wider search area. Mrs. Herbz actually found it without realising it until Mr. Herbz discovered it's sneaky secret some minutes later. Well done a great hide. Well worth a favourite point. TFTC.
Dropped the wife off to do some shopping, and i would do some caching for a few hours

Onto the next one for the morning. I came up to GZ and the terrain 2 cache was soon turning very 3.5. This can't be right. I checked the logs and noted jandalfan's log about the co-ords (thank you!). I applied their logic and bingo - I spotted the clever prize. It is in good condition. I have posted the co-ords that worked for me on this one. Good job on the caches, Fergclan - a very nice area
On the way from Tugun Hill 4 saw a scraggy nest and nervey kookaboras giving us an opportunity to get a good photo. Close to GZ were 2 kinds of butterfly (first we've seen - were thinking it was still too much winter) We looked without much enthusiasm and when we decided we didn't care to keep searching found it on the way back to the track a bit over 10 m from our co-ords and only 5 m or so from track. After doing cache A continued on to this one . More [ BLooooooy steps
once again the other half beat me to the cache. thanks for the cache Fergclan

Found after about 10mins of searching, great hide! Thanks Fergclan.

After searching in vain yesterday(thinking we might be the FTF), unleashing the biggest ant we had ever seen and uncovering most of the Tugun Hill - it was back to GX with geo son - found this sneaky little cache - well done Fergclan - a memorable experience on Tugun Hill - a bush walk with a difference - normally a peaceful experience - found it quite hard to talk to each other over the highway noise - amazing
We couldn't believe this was still awaiting a FTF. We arrived back from the Sunshine Coast soon after lunch, parked the caravan, and came inside to check on the computer if this had been found yet. No - it hadn't. A fair bit of persuasion got my daughter and granddaughter back in the car for another drive south - this time to a cache, and hopefully a FTF. With two GPS's having difficulties with the tree cover I think we searched a fairly good sized area. Sliding here, sliding there. Fortunately there were plenty of saplings to grip on to. We had no idea what we were looking for. For us it was definitely a 2.5 difficulty if not more. Eventually, with pleadings in my ears from my granddaughter: "Can we go now?" we decided to call it quits. That's when we found the clever cache. Very nice Fergclan. It will earn a favourite from us. I hope your ears weren't burning with me muttering: "Don't you just hate micros in the bush with no clue!!" A well deserved FTF at 2:30pm, even if we do say so ourselves. We were hot and dirty.
All a bit much for the iPhone - will return with a better device to track this down.
Based on AL's log it sounds like a good one!
