17-Jul-24
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.Stopped in here to use the toilets and the prospect of having a spa but there was no water in the tank so we moved on.Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC

Decided on a late afternoon venture from Marree down part of the Birdsville track to see the hot artesian bath, the water was warmer than body temperature but on a 37 degree day we opted not having a soak maybe next time, it was time to find the cache and head back to Maree, fortunately cache was in the first spot we checkedTFTC Freddo Wink

29-Aug-23
We are off on a trip to the Birdsville Races and then across to Queensland - the plan is for about 6 weeks of travel - all going well.

Week 1 we have travelled from Portland to Farrell's Flat near Clare.
Week 2 was Clare to Port Augusta.
Day 16 was Clarrie's waterhole at Lyndhurst to Clayton Wells and we are finally on the Birdsville Track.

After setting up camp, having a bath and then a very fine tea; we checked where the cache was and bless we had camped 9m from it.

Thanks for contributing to our holiday Freddo

23-Jul-23
We are on a Bucket List Trek, from Busselton, in the South West corner of Australia, up to Cape York, Australia's most Northern land point.
We are travelling through several iconic tracks, through the Gawler Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, the Birdsville Track, the Bloomfield Track and the PDR Track to Cape York.
As we meander across this awesome country, we stopped here to enjoy the scenery, check out the history and wonder what life was like here in the Outback all those years ago.
Thanks to the CO's for adding to our journey as we head to Cape York.
A little TLC here

Found with Kellmik and Karlth2021 on our 15 day, 7000+ km trip around the outback taking in iconic locations such as the Gawler Ranges, Googs Track, Kingoonya, Woomera, Oodnadatta Track, Marree, Birdsville Track, Mungerannie, Birdsville, Bedourie, Boulia, Diamantina NP, Winton, Longreach, Windorah, Haddon Corner, The Dig Tree, Innamincka, Old Strezlecki Track, Milparinka, Silverton and Broken Hill.
In all is was an absolutely fantastic trip with lots of wonderful things to see.
This cache was one of over 120 that we found during our outback drive.

Wanted to have a spa but the tank wouldn't drain. Searched GZ for quite a while but to no avail. The main pile of rocks had been moved and came to the conclusion that the cache was missing. Replaced without C/O permission as no communications made this is a difficult proposition. Hope this is OK Freddo. Cache is a small one in an obvious little nook.

I'll tell you what, it looked tempting.

This cache was found as part of an EPIC TRIP! to cross the Simpson Desert in July 2020. We crossed the desert without incident thanks to the smooth expert driving of H423L. There were many rocks, water holes, railway sidings and big dunes. Of course there was this cache too. The nights were clear and the stars were bright.

Thanks to Freddo and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

We arrived here late this afternoon after setting out from Glendambo on the Stuart Hwy and traveling through Pimba, Woomera, Roxby Downs & Marree. Luckily we had the place to ourselves so after a quick set up of the camper we sought out this cache which happened to be only a few metres away. Easy find!

Great location for an overnight camp and really enjoyed the hot shower in the morning too!

11-Jul-19
We've been wanting to drive the Strzelecki Track for a long time so a window of opportunity came up and we were out the gate!! We travelled up the Birdsville Track and down from Innamincka. Had a great time caching and admiring many views of the outback. The only casualty was the windscreen which had a close encounter with a rock on day 3. Got told in Birdsville that it wasn't bad enough to freight another up. Luckily it made it all the way home with the help of duct tape. We found some great views and historical places thanks to geocaching.

06-Jul-19
Found as part of an extended trip with FeatherWaite, Freddo, Team Waldron and a couple of non-caching friends that saw us travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, through the Painted Desert to Oodnadatta, then on to Dalhousie and Mount Dare, before crossing the Simpson Desert to Birdsville and then back down to Adelaide via Marree and the Flinders Ranges.

We had pretty good weather, with moderately warm days and cool nights, but plenty of flies!

It was great to be able to find some remote caches in some really interesting and scenic locations.

Thanks Freddo for the cache.

06-Jul-19
Found in the company of Freddo, e.gregory1, Team Waldron, occasional cacher out of retirement SteadyOn and muggle friend Tony during an awesome trip to the Simpson Desert, staying at Coober Pedy, then camping out at Dalhousie Springs, three nights in the Simpson Desert, Birdsville, Clayton Bore and Aroona Valley. Thanks for the cache Freddo and family!

Wow!! What a campsite. Loved the hot tub especially when we filled it this morning before sunrise and sat back and watched the new day begin, all we were missing was the champagne. Tftc

Stayed the night here and replaced the container with a new camod one.

We visited this area and used the on-site facilities. Next time we're back in this area we'll definitely spend a night or two in this location. The cache container wasn't workable so our friends FelixII replaced it and wrote our name in the new log a couple of days later. A favourite point from us for the fabulous location. TFTC

09-Jun-19
Found on 12.5.2019 whilst camping here overnight. 13 cyclists on Gulf2Gulf ride from Port Augusta to Karumba. Spa very welcome after a day in the saddle. Took nothing. Left June Canavan Foundation key ring. TFTC

14-Oct-18
Found with the rest of my family on a hot, windy day. Dad wouldn't let us swim in the pool, he's so mean! TFTC.

14-Oct-18
This spot was a bit underwhelming on the day, mainly due to the typically obscene number of flies and the dusty 40-knot gale that was blowing. A good spot any other time, though. TFTC Freddo.

We are on the homeward leg of the annual sun chasing trip. Grabbed the caches around Birdsville before heading down the track. TFTC. Big Grin
Looks like it got washed away when the spa was emptied. Have put a replacement behind the bark in the log by the rocks.

We really loved our stopover here. Where else in the world can you soak in a mineral spa at 8 o’clock at night under the milky way star gazing. Absolutely magic
TFTC

07-Jun-18
I got wet toes trying to grab this one as the ground was all flooded. Found the cache out in the open, so tucked it back into a safe place and covered it up - hopefully a little more securely. Now off to find the rest of the convoy!

Traveling on a Central Australia adventure with the awesome K8tybee. On the hunt for as many australian counties as we can get! (So cool to have made it across the Simpson Desert this time - yay!!). Thanks to everyone who keeps these awesome caches maintained. Such a brilliant trip. Tftc

Thank you so much for placing this cache

30-Aug-17
Found while on a road trip with Hearse068, BorisB&Natasha and THTSGLD. We are heading to Birdsville for the races Trying to get BorisB&Natasha close to 3000 before we get there so taking a detour to get some numbers. This is one we did to help her get closer. Thanks for taking the time to place this cache.

30-Aug-17
Found with BB&N, GF07 and H068. Passing through on the way to the Birdsville Races to celebrate GF07's 50th birthday. Good times. TFTC.

30-Jul-17
As we make our way homewards via the Birdsville Track we are stopping for a cache or two along the way. Just as we arrived here at Clayton's it started spitting to rain. The ground is so cracked it sure needs the rain but it didn't last long. And we didn't stay for a spa but it looked like it would be fun.
The cache is nice and dry. Happy to have our name on this log.
Thanks again Freddo for placing these caches for our (and others) enjoyment.

12-Jul-17
Lochlan and Ella have found our 7th geocache

02-Jul-17
Found it by accident when seeing what was lying on the ground. Signed log and tried to hide as best I could. Cheers

Stopped here for the night while driving the iconic Birdsville Track during a trip across Australia. Having the bonus of a Find adds to the experience, many thanks for another, Freddo. TNLNSL. Apologies for the late log.

28-May-17
Found while staying here on the way to Marree

10-May-17
Such a well maintained spot to camp, we had already camped down the track, but used the facilities, left a donation in the box and checked out the spa, no time to wait for it to fill.

20-Apr-17
This cache was found on an awesome trip to Alice Springs and the Red Centre MegaThere were many many awesome experiences shared with LakeEyreMax, Lost55 and TK2. and on occasion moneydorkThis one as we headed homeThere was a lot going on and I was neglectful of logging, but did keep notes and luckily can shadow TK2 logsPlease accept my apologies and late log - it reflects my tardiness rather than the quality of the cache experience and the enjoyment derived

20-Apr-17
Very interesting location

14-Apr-17
Quick find, the wetlands and spa were not quite what I expected. Thanks for the cache and reason to stop.

11-Apr-17
Was hoping to get all the way up to Cooper Creek but time constraints stopped that as I had to get cracking to make the Red Centre event in time. Stopped here for a soak to wash a little of the dust off, pity I couldn't fit the x-trail in, it would have lost half it's weight if i could have!
How good was this?-- a little spot of bathroom caching while I waited for my bath to fill!!

09-Aug-16
Thanks! A great spot.

17-Jul-16
Needs new container. Didn't have one.

What a nice little luxury in the middle of nowhere! As the last muggle was leaving, we had a nice relaxing soak in the hot tub. Beautiful! Then found the cache easily - though had to be careful of some mud. TFTC

17-Aug-15
Found Monday morning, after we camped out the back at the Marree hotel before driving through to Birdsville for a few days of hot air ballooning & some rest.
A few muggles around but the cache was easily located. SL TNLN TFTC

16-Aug-15
It's hard to pick my favourite cache from our little 5 day getaway up north but I guess this one makes the top 5! We headed here from Lake Harry on sunset and decided it was the perfect location for a hot spa and a coopers pale ale from our on board fridge! Hurtle filled up the bath and in we jumped, we didn't care who had been in here before, it was awesome! Little did we know the local campers were soon at GZ but thankfully I had already managed to slip into the shower to get dressed. This is the perfect nude up for a smiley location. Turns out the two guys were from Clare where my daughter lives and we had a great chat. The old bloke said if we hadn't been there he would have dropped his boardies! They were great characters and made the experience even more interesting. The perfect end to a great day. Oh and we found the cache too SL Thanks, we shall return!

16-Aug-15
Last cache for the day, and as far north on the Birdsville Track we are going this trip!
Came here for the spa and were not disappointed. No other travellers around, just before sunset, and the end of a glorious day of travelling and exploring.
The spa had been drained, so while we filled it with fresh water we found the cache and then jumped in. See my Bestie's log for the snappos! Smile
What a great idea, until we heard a father and son heading over from the campsite! lol
By the time they got here, we had showered and got dressed thankfully.
Had a bit of a chat, whereby they told us they had driven up to the top of the hill where 'Whose your Daddy?' cache is! lol
The old fella measured the water temp and it was 35°!
We then hit the road south for the Farina campsite.
TNLNSL
Thanks

Great location Freddo but as there was people using it for their washing we chose to move on. All is well[sic] with the cache, tftc

11-Jul-15
Blowing a gale today, I would have loved to jump in the spa but it would have been a bit cold getting out; I could have just stayed there I guess. Returning to Marree after a few nights at Killalpaninna and Cowrie. TFTC

The SA_ParrotHead team are heading to Haddons Corner via the Strzelecki track the home via the Birdsville Track.
This is the last corner post I have to find and has been on my bucket list for a long time.
I went to Poeppel and Cameron Corners with Beakers Bunch & Mogni and Surveyor Generals with Nibs, Burtons and Young Einstein.
Mrs Parrot is coming with me this time to complete the set.

I dont know if I would be getting into that spa.

We were travelling in a heat wave and it was the hotest October since who knows when but I still wasnt climbing in.

Chatted with some people that were camping there.

25-Sep-14
We found this yesterday after coming down from Birdsville what a welcome relaxing spot this is! Geo parents popped our feet in and washed away some weary soreness. Geo mum is badly cracked heals so this was a welcome stop. SL left a peg TFTC (: TB's along for a visit

15-Aug-14
Found this one on a drive by on our way to Maree. That spa looked very tempting! But we are on a tight time schedule today so no luck. Thanks!

06-Aug-14
I remember the adverts Smile
I don't remember ever meeting somebody who actually drank the stuff though [:o]

So ... is this the cache you find when you are not finding a cache ? Razz

I wasn't sure, so set off through the campground to find GZ.
And sure 'nuff there was a spa.
Devoid of water, but the temptation to turn the rather large tap was there [^]

Not wanting to be disappointed by a Clayton's Spa, I wandered over to GZ to see if I could find a proper cache and not a Clayton's one Razz

Hooray !!
A cache Big Grin
I think I will leave now and go and find somewhere, less dusty, less crowded, less noisy, less kitsch to set up camp tonight Big Grin

TFTC.

OK !! The thought of the mere sight of some old age pensioners, actually leaving their tortoise shell of a caravan and sitting in the spa in their bathers was more than I could bear thinking about [:o]
As if the wrinklies need any more wrinkles Sad

Thanks.

This was the 37th find of a total of 49 caches found by Boxer and 5 Vietnam veterans club member mates, on a 10 day trip up to Marree, then onto Mt Dare, across the Simpson desert to Birdsville, then back down to Marree, then home to Kadina. A very interesting and at times very challenging trip. Stopping to find caches helped break up the trip and get out and stretch the legs. Thanks for the cache hide.

21-May-14
Found today whilst on a school camp to Marree. Had a great week and a relaxing visit to this spot. Worth a walk to the creek/waterhole and have a quick dip in the hot water. Easy find. Tftc

Looks like a great camp site. And a bonus spa to be had. But it was too early for us to stop.
So we headed further up the track towards Birdsville.
