I had an appointment nearby which slipped out by an hour so I had time to go and find a couple of caches. Back again after a DNF in November 2019. This could have been tricky but I spotted something a little out of place and there was the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
In the Southern Island currently to drop off the Uni student for the 2024 year, and just had to locate this one being the closest to my accommodation....Had tried the night before, and earlier today, but both times had high muggle activity that took up valuable caching time, so decided on return visits......finally managed to get some time with out muggles around to make the find.....thought I was going to have to walk away again as the rubbish truck stopped within meters for a quick drink, and back on it's way.....The cache is all good, and fitting of a Fav.point for the hide.....TFTC.
Sent Partner in Caching out to retrieve this one.... Getting too hot for me.... On his return with cache in hand, I used my TOFT (tweezers) to get the log out and signed.... TFTC
Was passing by today so popped in for a check after the DNF. The cache was missing so I've replaced it.
In Christchurch with AlpiSteve for Matariki Weekend and we stopped here on our way to the Riccarton Market. AlpiSteve found this one while I was looking elsewhere. Yay I got my swing in too TFTC
Made this harder than I needed to really, caught a flash in my torch after a few minutes. Nicely done.
TFTC mrdan01, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #4176

Also a little above my reach! Luckily cach with hubs (Bighorn) so he can reach where i cant!
Had a good look at most of trees dusk yesterday. The cache there in the ivy tree also had a dnf after several searches. So this area has no luck for me.
So pleased to finally get rid of the unhappy blue face on this one. Definitely above my head height and with the help of a twig I was able to retrieve and sign it. Used same twig to put it back in it’s hiding place
Thanks for the find. The ring on the cache is split a little. I put it back up where I found it and all is good right now.
Felt good to return here and turn a frown upside down! Walked in circles for a little while as my GPS was slightly off but eventually spotted something. TFTC
This would have taken a lot longer without a small assist from the sun. Nice hide.
Our GPS was really bad so this was our 3rd time, and you know what they say "3rd times the charm." And this time we knew it was there because a find in the same day. And surely enough we found it, geocache was quite small actually TFTC
I've been here before and failed to find the wee blighter. Today it was another long search but thankfully spied the cache eventually. Very tricky! TFTC!
Thanks to info from LittleTan - a cache was there to be found but it wasn't mine! Presumably someone who gave up looking for my one so decided to place their own and call it done. Not the best way to go Geocaching... The first name on the log sheet of this 'replacement' cache isn't in the online log, so I guess I'll leave it at that. A replacement matching the original is in place and ready to be found. About a dozen people signed the log in this other cache - their find stands, and I'll pocket the pill bottle.
But I just found it a week or so ago!
It's 100% there if you expand your search!!!

Quite a bit of searching finally yielded results!
Co-ords are a bit out but it's roughly in the vicinity.

Not very hopeful given the lack of recent finds on this one. Found a bing, a pregnancy test, and 3 beer bottles..... Not very inspiring to hang around and keep looking....
with no muggles around I searched high and low (catering to all head heights) but without success
My heart sank a bit as I arrived because I recognised that I had been here once before for a long unsuccessful search. Looked in all the same places again before stopping and looking in different places. I was absolutely chuffed when I unearthed the cache a short time after. TFTC # 17,499
During breakfast at a nearby establishment I took the opportunity to nip out and have yet another look for this. I had arrived in Chch with some information from a previous finder which although lacking in fine detail certainly made it easier as I managed to find it this time. Well concealed. Thanks for the hide.
With a recent DNG, was just about to give it it up as a list cause, when there it is! Cheers for the hide.
Headed up to Christchurch on Boxing Day for a 3-4 night caching trip, have to be grateful that despite overseas travel plans scrapped for now, we can still move around our beautiful country. Chatting to friends and family overseas, I feel very blessed and want to make the most of our earned freedom. I find caching is a great way to unwind and allow me to recharge ahead of the marathon which will be 2021.
Time to head home now.... but I am sure I can stretch out a 4.5hr trip to 14hrs and get a number of caches on the way.
Thank you to all of the cache owners for the caches enroute.
Was about to give up at GZ and as I headed back to the car I spotted something brighter and larger than expected.
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located!*

A rather late log but we were in CHh for a week or so and i went out to halswell to visit old school frien and stopped at a few cache en route Thanks you
I don't like logging DNFs. Probably be back in 2 years time when next in chch to turn it into a smiley.
If you are unwell - DO NOT GO GEOCACHING! STAY HOME!

Staying at the Best Western nearby so had to find a few caches around the area. This was a nice quick find today. Then we were off to find a couple of puzzles we have solved. Thanks for the smiley. Visiting from West Richland, WA, USA.

Hubby and I went out for a few supplies and I checked for any cache in the area. This means our small trips take ages but loving our new hobby. We have not ever seen a cache this size, really tickled us how clever this is. Took us a while as our phones jumping so kept looking where other feet have trodden nope. Started again and just kept looking then hubby felt it. Wow feel chuffed we got this one. Thanks for the cache mrdan01.
Second time here and another dnf. I searched far and wide but no find. It must be a good hide. The coordinates bounced around under the trees and I didn’t know what tree to look in. Maybe next time. Thanks
Wow, such a little hide! Thankfully not many muggles around, which allowed for a quick find. Log is in good condition. TFTC.
Today we tried nearly one hour to find this cache, because we needed one beginning with a Y for the January Spelling Challenge, but no luck, we didn’t find it ..... so, we decided to send a message to the owner for giving us one more hint .... and he answers really quickly (many many thanks once again here!!!) . Then a second try and we saw it , yeah , what a great feeling!!!
Many thanks for hiding and the help and greetings from Germany !

Found the sneaky little bugger after a few minutes of looking really sharp and taking care not be seen by the muggles who strolled by. Nice place for an Owl like me.

Oh gosh! That’s a tiny sneaky hide!
Previous times I deviated from GZ a lot and tried to search the most obvious places in 20m radius but this time I was determined to check GZ thoroughly and try and adhere to the hint as much as possible and that helped! Yet another cache spotted!

Searched for ages, climbed plenty of trees but no luck for us today. Junior cacher was stoked to find a painted rock at gz though so not a total waste of time.
DNF #2
Gosh, I feel geocachingly impaired. Can't find this D2 cache...
Coords stubbornly lead to some point in-between the trees, not pointing to any of them again. I went through all of them again, then deviated from GZ more and more and checked things by the sidewalk but still no cigar. I will have to take backup next time I'm coming here.

Found with cab165 on a day with nothing else to do... stupid thing, this is trip 3... TFTC
Wandered down to the park to pick up another one while in the area and waiting for my Sister. Was worried that this would prove to be a difficult one but after a short look around, I spotted the little guys hanging out. Got the log out without any trouble. TFTC!
Was feeling quite determined after seeing the DNFs and for once I saw it before Miss 8. I even had a pen with us today. Thank you
DNF
No luck here at all. Coords pointed in between a bunch of trees, I checked them all, then checked a couple potential places for a magnetic one further away from GZ, and then gave up.

Pleased we found it. Chose not to sign the logbook as we're worried we wouldn't get it back in.
The family Tognisserne ( can be translated into Train Pixies ) is on vacation from Denmark to New Zealand.
Last campsite of the four week tour. Went for shopping and came home with groceries and two caches found.
Easy found.
Thanks for the cache.

Stopped by this morning intending to just replace the log, ended up replacing everything! You know it's embarrassing when even the CO can't find the cache... Same coordinates, same container...
