Find # 14216I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC winterdragon
Out closing a few gaps on this long trail. TFTC winterdragon for 'Everlasting and her intrepid spirit for off the beaten track geocaching.
Out with weredunn4 picking up a few caches in the Tailem Bend / Karoonda area.A quick find stamp and return here todayTFTC
Found the new container in the middle of nowhere in clear view. Reunited it with the remnants of the older container still at the less visible position.
Thanks for the cache winterdragon.

Out for another early morning search for a few more caches on this interesting trail, TFTC winterdragon
Caching with the JAMS crew finding Wandering Heroes caches. We ended up finding over 300 and hiding 2 more. We replaced a lot of containers that were broken. We had a few showers of rain early which were getting us wet but they didn't last too long and it ended up being a nice day. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches.
Out with the JAMS crew JJ52, Mogni, Allister W and sir_spectre, plus TallBikeStan and BratKat on this run. The logs where stamped as Mystery Randoms. The target's today where the Wander Heros trail ( as far as we could get ) plus any other caches in the towns or close to the road and the nearby Lab cache in Karoonda. We got slowed down by the rain till almost lunch. No wildlife sighted, not even a kangaroo. We found over 300 + caches, some of us had found some of them before but we are aligning all of our maps to the same finds. We replaced over 40 wandering heroes caches we found broken, most logbooks where dry and put in the new cache. Any logbooks found close to full had a scroll added to the cache and all broken caches we removed and put in the bin. By the end of the day we had over a garage bag full of broken caches.
Another JAMS day was organised to tackle the Wandering Heroes trail (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre plus tallbikestan and BratKat). We started the day with rain and hail as we drove through the hills towards Tailem Bend but by the time we started the series we just had a couple of light showers and then for the rest of the day it was fine although we had strong cool winds.
That didn't stop us though, and we had a fun day finding around 300 caches plus an Adventure Lab in Karoonda. We had come prepared with lots of spare containers and replaced a heap of broken containers and sometimes logbooks. We managed to get to Sandalwood where we called it a day, so now have plans to come back and completed the last of the series.
This was my first visit out here since 2016 and by the end of the day I had 197 finds plus the Adventure Lab which I was pretty happy about.
Thanks for the cache winterdragon.

Out for a days caching with geo pup, and came across this one. sealed log in a new bag, sorry didn't have any containers with me, log still viable but container needs replacing TYFTC
Evidence of someone sleeping rough nearby. Cache completely broken and log sodden. Thanks for the hide.
Out grabbing a few caches in the area. Cache could do with a bit of maintenance TFTC
Took off away from home with Jack to escape the rain.
Ended up at your cache!
A name we have seen often as we look at the log books.
Interesting story about her issue with 000 - wonder if they ever found a solution?

Day 178 (Monday 24th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Tailem bend today. A total of 17 for the day and 3387 for the trip. TFTC.
Heading out for the afternoon to tackle more of the Wandering Heroes series this afternoon so this will be a generic log. All caches were found in good condition, unless otherwise noted, on an enjoyable sunny afternoon.

Thanks Winderdragon for this cache, and your contribution to the whole WH series. I was on a mission today to grab as many of these as I could. I took a tumble early in the day and got scratched by many mallee trees, but it didn't deter me. So many ants here.
The Wandering Heroes trail keeps on wandering and so do we, along with ilook4geo. Most of the caches we did today were in acceptable condition, although there were still a couple where containers need to be replaced and a few logs that also need to be renewed. As is normal, each log had our visit noted by the addition of two lots of initials, being GP2 and ilg.
Our thanks go to winterdragon for adding to this trail and to the fun of the game.

I had planned a big few days of caching in SA so I left work on a Tuesday evening and hit the road from Melbourne. This was my third full day of caching and the Wandering Heroes caches (and assorted others nearby) were on my target list. It was a blisteringly hot day (felt hotter than the 39C recorded on my car!) and the dry and dusty conditions made it hard going at times. My first task having left where I was staying overnight in Murray Bridge was to head to the Geopets series. Once I was done there I headed on to the Wandering Heroes and others along that route. Many took me longer than expected with different containers, hide styles and some further off the road. In the end I had to adjust my expectation of finds for the day before I headed north to where I was staying overnight. Thanks to winterdragon for this cache and to all COs for placing and maintaining this remarkable series. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Wandering the trail today,

Tuesday 8 November 2018.
Congrats on being honoured on this trail.
Yet another fabulous day out with gridge98...so fabulous that we stamped all of the logs as "Fabulous Randoms" (the ink in a few was becoming a little light).
We stopped at about 150 caches today as we were on a mission for Connor to reach his 4,000th caching milestone, and for me to get closer to my 10,000th. I'd found a few before today so my find count was a little lower, but anything over the 100 mark is a great day caching! We even began our day by attending a coffee event at 7:30am and then finished it with dinner and movies...haha, yep, the GIFF event was on tonight at the German Club.
Thanks so much for the cache winterdragon! [^]

A day out with GoodLook on a mission to do as much of the wandering heroes series.
We found 150 along the way till we had to pull the pin and head home. Happy to find my 4000th at the last one. TFTC for all the CO for placing the caches. Some of the caches are in poor condition others are fantastic hides. We stamped all the caches with the fabulous randoms stamp

Came back again to catch up more Wandering Heroes from yesterday before heading to Adelaide from Melbourne for 10 days holidays. Found it. TFTC !!
I was on my way to Barmera, with a bit of time on my hands as planned lol, so I was going to find some interesting caches along the way and a few of the power trail caches. The rain stopped, which was a bonus. At some point I decided to stop only for the large ones, otherwise I would never make it to my destination for the night! TFTC!!
Had a free half day and decided to notch up a few of the Wandering Heroes series. It was great to get some background on some of the familiar team names I have encountered while out and about. TFTC.
Found on a one month road trip around Australia. Sorry for the generic log. TNLNSL TFTC
Found with FerociousFlea on our 2017 June Long Weekend Wandering Heroes Caching Run. Totals included 155 on Saturday, 176 on Sunday and 6 early Monday, making for 337 caches in a little over 48 hours.
Thanks to all of the cache owners and caching teams that have this series named after them. Thanks also to those who make the effort to maintain other's caches so that people like us can do these caching runs. Apologies for the generic logs...

Out doing some maintenance on the wandering heroes so I replaced the cache container and added a new (bagged) logbook, pencil and a few swaps.
Out caching with Hevwalker today to make a dent on some more of the Wandering Heros caches.
We had a fun time but didn't hit the 100 we had initially hoped for. For me it was 63 finds for the day. I was happy with that.
It was about here something strange happened. I saw a rabbit dart across the road up ahead, followed by something much bigger. I swear it was a Tasmanian Tiger or some sort of big cat WOW!!! It certainly didn't look like a fox or a dog, its gait and body shape were big cat like and it crossed the track while chasing the rabbit. It must have been hungry. Unfortunately, Hevwalker didn't see it as she was busy writing in her book but I swear its true! Hev and I affectionately called it the Wynarka Lion - a new myth is born.

Out on the Wandering Heroes Series with Ismartis...we enjoyed our day though it could have been a bit cooler...crazy cachers out in the heat & humidity...
As per previous log...the container is broken & the log is mouldy...both require replacements...
Now I want to make this clear...we hadn't been drinking...Ismartis was looking ahead on the track...she said "Did you see that"...of course I had not seen anything as I was adding this cache to my notebook...she said it looked like a lion, a large cat, not dog like and thought it was chasing a rabbit that had crossed the track...we decided it was a "Wynarka Lion"...had a chuckle and were on our way again...

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Oh wow, what a trail ! The WEEO and I flew down from Canberra to cache this trail and around MB and my wonderful Auntie put us up (future cacher there too ). We made it all the way to Loxton in 2 days but were shagged by the end. The caches were mostly fab and gave us a laugh along the way.
Thanks to all you cachers in the MB area for the great work in putting this together, you guys rock!

What a great trail, the weather is fine, the birds are singing and we are "in the groove". Thanks to all the cachers who put this trail together, we are having a ball and have not missed a beat, so far. 3-Kings and I have come all the way from NSW to experience this trail and it was well worth it. TheCatBandits on a mission today to finish off the Wandering Heroes Series. On the road at 6am as we had approx. 400km round trip ahead of us. After a few months of planning, and trial runs I finally attempted and complete my goal of doing a 24 hour SOLO cache run!!!
One Man, One Day, 441 caches found!
I booked two nights at Murray bridge and arrived at 8:00 pm. Attempted without success to sleep until 11:30 pm then got up and went to the location of the first cache. As the clock turned to midnight I began.
Speed through the Oz Mega 2014 Trail with only a handful of DNFs, then picked a few up along the highway until I got to the GeoPets trail.
After this I cut through to Wandering Heroes and completed up to the "OTS: May" trail. Went along this and came back into Tailem Bend for lunch and fuel and few in town. Was beginning to get weary but proceeded back to where I left off in the Wandering Heroes.
From here on in I just completed as many of these as I could up through Karoonda in the hot hot mid 30's day until midnight stuck a few kms east of town.
441 finds was the total count and now I just had to drive back to Murray Bridge. Easier said then done after being awake for practically 40 hours. Hit the hotel pillow at 1:20 am and was out within seconds.
Thanks for all the wonderful caches around this area, and sorry for generic logs.

I found this cache today as number 43 of 161 in company of Cold Freeze on our Karoonda Road Run III. Our first run back in 2008 was well before Wandering Heroes and yielded just 14 caches along the entire road and our caching figures were in the 2,000's back then. Our second run in 2012 brought us 160 caches where we started at Loxton and continued caching all the way past Karoonda to just before the Murray Bridge - Tailem Bend Junction. From there, we headed into Tailem Bend for Dinner and continued back from there for a few extra caches before giving up about an hour before dark. Our caching numbers were in the 5,000s at that time. Today, with caching numbers now in the 8,000s, we picked up at the point we had left off last time near the Murray Bridge - Tailem Bend Junction and headed south with the aim of finishing off all of these caches then caching our way back towards Loxton. I had not counted the caches in this section before leaving home and I thought that there were probably about 80 caches there. Once we got them all done, we found that there were just over 140 left in that area so we didn't get much past Karoonda on the way back after all. A great day though nonetheless and there looks to be at least one more full caching day to come at some stage. Thanks to all cache placers in this series today from D B-A.
Take 2 at what we started during OZ Mega Murray Bridge, took us a while to get back here but we made it. TFTC.
We arrived in Tailem Bend about 7.30 a.m. to make a start on the Wandering Heroes trail in the hope of getting 100 per day for two days. Our first day was tiring with a fair bit of bush bashing to do to get caches.
We got caught in quite a few showers of rain and spent a long time on the road, but managed a comfortable tally for the day.
Thanks to all who placed and maintained caches here for this great 'adventure trail'. Excuse my generic logs, but with so many to do, individual logs are a bit past me tonight.
Thanks winterdragon for your effort here.

A very quick and easy find today for us. Stamped and returned as found.
We had planned a family geo trip a few weeks ago and I left it up to the geo wife to decide where she wanted to go. Murray Bridge was one of three places to visit. Lucky she decided on this area, so we could try for 200+ in a day [^] Sometimes the parking was very difficult being double white lines and plenty of passing cars, having a companion to drive / swap with made this series that little bit easier. It was a very hot day & plenty of hours were spent in the car with much water needed. We found some great containers & loved the idea of this series. Now to rest the wheels....
[blue]Thanks for this cache, Winter Dragon & to everyone for the series TNLN[/blue]

Generic log for today's WH caches. On the way to ADE to meet our new niece had 90 minutes and snagged about 30. We thank all the CO for their efforts we all love this hobby and couldn't do this without excellent hides like these. TFTC!
The Geo family was out for the Queens Birthday weekend and remained in the area overnight. What a brilliant series and a real credit to South Australia – very inspirational. We will have to come back again to complete this wonderful series.
We were out with the geofamily staying overnight at a motel in Tailem Bend. We were out for a total of two days nonstop geocaching. We used the geomobile and our bikes cycling 10km up the freeway! I know we are crazy! TFTC
A big day out with bananabros, greedy parrot and lozanger. We started this series exactly one year ago and picked a beautiful, sunny day to continue today. We had a great day with 55 finds and one DNF. We will be back another day to continue. Thanks to all the cache placements and the varied containers. Most enjoyable.

It was time for specimenX and myself to head back to Murray Bridge to do the Signal PT and some of the Wandering Hero's. It was a 2 hour drive there and we arrived and went straight into the Signal series. We were suprised at how they were scattered and doubted a few of our answers but it seems we had them all right and we found the whole lot. We then headed off for some lunch and collected a couple of Oz Mega 2014 caches that had gone astray on our last visit.
Murray Bridge was almost a ghost town compared to the Easter weekend. We were still looking for the Kookie magnets (habbit now lol) and we were kinda missing all the geomobiles with their flags flying high. Seems Murray Bridge was back to BAU and we were once again engaging stealth mode for our activities.
Once we had eaten, we decided to try our luck and do as many Wandering Hero's as our bodies would allow. specimenX was like a bull at a gate, just kept going and going and going. We evetually called it quits at a daily total of 204 finds (our highest yet) and started the 2 hour drive home at 1am in the morning. By the time we got home, we were well and truely exhausted, showered then crashed immediately.
In the Wandering Hero's, we managed to get from the Tailum Bend turnoff all the way to Karoonda Road/Kulde Road intersection. We then headed up Karoonda Road towards Bowhill Road (heading towards Murray Bridge) to collect The Lost Wanderers.
There are still SOOOOO many Wandering Hero's we need to collect so it looks like another SA trip will be in the planning
Thanks to all the CO's who have placed caches for us to collect and also bigh shout out to those who maintain these caches. Very enjoyable exhausting day.

Off we go again! This time Rapidlywild and I decided to tackle the Wandering Heroes caches after completing the Oz Mega Signal power trail-insane! [:O)]
Once again Rapidlywild was the driver and I was the runner [:O)] Most of the caches were nice, quick finds although several of them were a little bit elusive to us in the dark so RW joined in for the search
I enjoyed the variety of the hides along the way; several were quite creative! All up for the day we totalled 204 finds and ended with a 1am finish Absolutely geobuggered after that! lol!
Thanks to all the CO’s for placing their caches in this fantastic series!

One of the many caches we found afer attending our 1st OZ Mega with whitewebbs. Thanks to all who placed caches for our enjoyment.
What a week this has been at the Oz Mega Event in Murray Bridge SA. I have so many caches to log so it will have to be a cut and paste log because of the numbers but this does not mean that that I don't appreciate the effort that all the cache owners have put in to hide these caches because without the hiders we would not have the pleasure of finding the vast number of caches that have been placed in this area and also the owners of caches along the roads that we have to travel to arrive in M.B and return back to our homes.
I left Geelong on Wednesday 16th April 2014 and arrived home a week later with close to 500 caches found and now the mammoth task of logging all of these caches.
Thanks to all the cache owners who placed caches for everybody to find.
Early Monday 21st April I ventured out to this group with fellow cacher Happy Feet 1 (Robin and Josh) signing the logs as B & HF1 and finding all along the way until we decided to return to Murray Bridge with our aim today was to log at least 150.
This is not the order we found these but for ease of logging I will log in order.

Thanks for your cache winterdragon, we found on our way to the OzMega Event in Murray Bridge to be held over Easter. Yoru cache helped to break up the long drive from Perth and give us an excuse to stop and stretch our legs.
Found this cache while attending Oz Mega. Had a great time and appreciated all the effort of the organisers and the owners of placed caches. Thank winterdragon
On our OzMega Holiday to Murray Bridge we decided to get a few of this great series thanks to the co for this cache
Geocaching a section of the Wandering Heroes with my Geodaughter during the last day of Oz Mega. The flies and the heat detracted from the overall enjoyment of the expedition, resulting in only a handful of caches being completed.
Great Day Out caching with M-SEZ , Ma77hew & Kay , Sneaky Squeaky and Knightech JNR
Thanks For The Cache
Thanks For The Cache
Found with Kiwigeoswami and Granville86a on our Oz Mega 2014 Road trip from Invercargill New Zealand. Such a great idea to honour cachers and I enjoyed reading the stories behind the nominated cacher. Thanks to all those who took the time to place the cache and those who maintain. My apologies for the generic log.
Found along with Chosen1978 and Kiwigeoswami (team CGK) on our Invercargill, New Zealand to Murray Bridge 2014 Mega Event, South Australia Road Trip, Thanks for the placement of this series, enjoyed getting out there and finding the caches in the series.
I have met Danielle on a number of occasions and she always has a hug for me when we catch up. A very active member of the community, I consider her a friend and have a lot of time for her. She does some crazy things though and sometimes, goes a little further than I think I would if I were in her shoes... Gutsy, very gutsy... [^]
Hunting in the company of Kaisho53 this morning, we worked our way through just a few of the Wandering Heroes series on a pleasant, sunny, Saturday morning. This cache was found safe and sound and all in good order.
My thanks to all the hunters who have gone to the effort of recognising another cacher for one reason or another. It's great so see the tributes growing.
Cheers Winterdragon.

#5604 We had completed a portion of this ever expanding series back in Apr13 when we cut loose on the Mega, Signal, Arrow, Tour De France and Fruit Loop series'. Whilst at the Mega this Saturday, our caching companions were out on the Signal series we thought it an ideal time to head out and find some more caches along this diverse trail. The road was relatively quiet and the weather spectacular for our days caching. We are impressed with the selfless cachers who go to the time/effort/expense of recognising others along this trail. Also our thanks to CPwanderer who commenced this dedication trail.
Everlasting seems to have hides that we've encountered as far north as Stanthorpe in Qld to SA. We have met her in Yackandandah Victoria and respect the miles she has travelled with caching, a fabulous effort. We took the "not recommended" approach to GZ (for some reason we make things harder for ourselves than need be). The cache was found in good condition and glad to say we made it back to the geomobile unscathed.....whew . Our thanks to winterdragon for the cache and for the fun. Cheers [^]

Cached today with Team Tonka , Grub Fred and Backwards Charlie. Met many cachers along the way. The OZ Mega Flags were everywhere, what a great idea. Everyone waved to us or blew their horns, had a great time. Fun caches too!!! TFTC
I flew into Melbourne and rented a car to come to Oz Mega. This is my first geocaching trip to Australia and I am enjoying it so far. Of course I searched for and found a few caches between Melbourne and Murray Bridge.
After registering for Oz Mega I am doing some caching as part of Team Z (Grub Fred, JMCz, Team Tonka, and myself). Thursday we concentrated on the Oz Mega 2014 SA series and found almost two hundred (200) caches. Friday we concentrated on the Oz Mega 2014 Signal series and found almost one hundred (100) caches. Today we spent most of our time working on the Wandering Heroes series and found about two hundred (200) caches.
Thanks to all the volunteers for all the work in putting together the mega event and these series. If it were not for hiders, there would be no finders.

Found this one on our day out from the Oz Mega as we attempted the Wandering Heroes trail. logging this one as Team Z (Grub Fred, JMCz, Backwards Charlie, and myself) this one one of the many great Caches we found along the way Thanks for the great effort put into creating and maintaining these caches over this very busy period.
Sorry for the Generic Log but with 200+ caches to log today the mind is very Numb.
Happy Caching.

We usually do power trails by bike or on foot. Today was a day of learning about many great cachers. We loved reading about the different caching heroes, but only know a few of them. We were so impressed with the condition of the caches and would like to congratulate the heroes and the cachers responsible for maintaining the caches.
second stab at the trail, just over an hour and a half for 40 caches, we were knackered, after the full day of caching prior, must be getting old ! lol
thanx for the caches, top stuff

From Auckland via Sydney I arrived at Adelaide around 10pm on the 17th to be picked up by funkymunkyzone, slieschke and Cats&Dragons (thx!). The plan was a 24h geocaching run which included picking up as many caches possible involving the three trails of Oz Mega, Wandering Heroes and Tour de France. We made it just in time back to Murray Bridge to meet up with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 at GZ of our first cache. With the whole Team "NZ Fun" assembled the run started exactly at midnight.
In total we managed 727 finds and 11 DNFs in 24 hours. Wow what a great team effort!!
After the "Oz Mega 2014 SA & Signal" Series we started to concentrate on the "Wandering Heroes series". Great trail with sooooooo many awesome and creative geocaches. Thanks to all the cache owners! TFTC

I am over from New Zealand for Oz Mega 2014 and today joined forces with fellow kiwis Yorkshirekiwi83, Cats&Dragons, Funkymunkyzone, Slieschke and Alpenmilch80 for a 24 hour non stop caching run! The log books were signed under the team name of "NZ Fun"
We started near Murray Bridge and worked our way around the Oz Mega 2014 Signal trail, then on to the OZ Mega 2014 SA trail. Once those trails were finished, we headed over to Tailem Bend and worked through the Wandering Heroes series up to Loxton. From here we made our way across to the Tour De France power trail. Whilst the power trails were our main focus, we also picked up a few other caches along the way. At the end of the 24 hours we finished with 727 cache finds!!! It was an exhausting 24 hours and we still had to drive back to Murray Bridge afterwards! Sorry for the generic logs, but a big thank you to the cache owners for all of the cache placements!
