Wow what a spot this. I could hear water as soon as I hit the bridle path and wondered where it was and wanted to be there asap. So happy this cache was next to it. FP from me thanks for bringing me here
What a glorious day for a walk. Lots of muggle families out walking their dogs.

A fun diversion from the heritage trail, got to see a little landmark I never knew of before. Great hide! Thank you.
I was hoping I didn’t need to climb for this one, I was wrong… swift find at GZ

Placed a new container, log book & pencil. Sizeable container for small swappables. Hope you all enjoy this piece of history.
Came here after collecting another smiley with Geotrakka, your cache has a cracked lid and the contents were soaking but with a trusty power tank pen we were able to sign tftc
Down to grab my son a bday pressie nearby so great time to grab some caches. What a beautiful walk - the creek is babbling the birds are singing - splendid place for a cache thanks for bring me astrohiker
Found it filled with water and damaged did not have any replacements I suggest that the owner comes and Roxie’s it but still nice locaton
On a little Sunday walk with a muggle daughter, grandson and granddog today, nice quick find. Lovely spot!

Lovely cache, great spot. The beadies have conquered again....(with Kozaks, again)
The things you find in the bush and if it wasn't foe geocaching we would never have visited this fantastic place. Cache is in good condition with no problems. We did hide it a bit better as it was easily seen on approach.
TFTC and bringing us to another beaut area astrohiker!

Thank you buttercup380 for your nice comment re this cache. It is certainly a tranquil spot in winter. I do try to get geocachers to find 30 & do some of my better Geocaches. I do need to make more. Thanks again; Astrohiker.
Came back here today, just to sit and listen to the water. To reflect on life and remember people who are no longer here. I love this place, so peaceful. Thank you again for sharing this beautiful place, without caching I would never have found it.
So cool! Lived here all my life and walked this track millions of times. Never knew about this rock wall!
It is raining. Watch an 120 metre man made diversion creek/and wall flow twelve metres above a walking bridle path. An amazing feat of work 118 years ago. And 11 people recon this is a neat one to do. This is the best time to do this cache. I do hope you enjoy this one. Astrohiker.
After much debate over which side of the creek it was (compass going round in circles) we finally found it. Left a pathtag for next find
Interesting area to walk. Out with B12 & C10 on a sunny winter's day, collecting 51 smiles and 4 frowns.
Thank you astrohiker
Thank you astrohiker
Out for a day of caching around Darlington, Mundaring and the surrounding areas to cleanup the huge number of caches around these parts that have evaded us for a while.
A lot of bush caching today with some nice finds through John Forrest National Park, which I’ve always wanted to explore, but never got around to. The highlight of the walk apart from some great caches, informative signs along the trail, beautiful bridges, nice trails and great scenery was a walk through the Swan View Tunnel, which was absolutely awesome.
The other major walk of the day was around the Boya Quarry which is simply amazing for people that have never visited (I know many attended dark energy’s event out this way when his earth caches were still active in the quarry) beautiful views in particular from the top of the quarry and looking up the beautiful cliffs throughout the area.
We collected a bunch of other caches around the dam in JFNP, central Mundaring, and the Boya areas.
An amazing day out that finishes finding two old archived caches that have seen better days but would have been amazing to have seen in their heyday.
Thanks to all of the local COs for a great days caching, we had lots of fun. Thanks

At 11m I thought hard can it be! Well I took the T5 approach and emerged bleeding from various places. Signed the log in blood then sauntered over to admire the wall structure. Most impressive. Not keen to go back down the way I came up I followed the wall west but still managed to test the durability of my Netti knickson on the way down. TFTC.
I'd heard about this piece of engineering a while back. It was good to come out and see it in the flesh with Novayolo.
Found as per previous log. I've walked past this wall many times without knowing of its existence
Found in disintegrated plastic bag which was spreading into the bush it is closer to the wandoo than the marri. The wall is amazing. Thanks
Scrambled up from the track to find this sitting in the open. Placed it between some rocks to offer some level of disguise. Did not know this wall was here. TFTC astrohiker.
Thanks Reviewer for the info re needing to post maintenance log. A few weeks ago I replaced the cache & all is good to go again. Thanks.
A nice quick find after a stroll through this beautiful spot, thanks Astrohiker for this cache and bringing us to this spot
A very late log, found with parkacruz and piknik15 but we never logged online which we are now rectifying TFTC
Logged under Mummy & Daddy's name smileyjims but I have my own online name now, I found this cache with them and wrote in the log book with them TFTC
I have replaced the container & log book. Also the trackable may be a lady bug. I might have mixed it with another.
Inspicio the cache is fine. But I will replace the container very soon. Slight crack on the bottom.
On reading the previous logs it appears that there is still outstanding maintenance to be carried out or if carried out hasn't been mentioned leaving the NM attribute still set on the cache listing.
Cache owners are required to maintain the listing as well as the physical cache.

Found it.
A little more history. The railway was being built in 1897 from Darlington up toward Smiths Mill (now Glen Forrest). At the end of a cutting (named Devils Terror cutting) they hit pipe clay then a underground stream which flooded the cutting and turned the clay into a soft dough. Anything they tried to put on it promptly vanished. A dam was built in Glen Forrest to hold back Nyaania creek while the railway was diverted, with an embankment down the middle of the creek bed and the creek was diverted along a new channel part of which was the diversion wall. The dam wall was then breached to allow the creek to flow again. Both the dam wall and Devils Terror cutting can be found if you know where to look. Intend to place geocaches in both.

I visited the cache & replaced the bags but forgot to look under the container. I will do that soon.
After a picnic lunch at Glen Forrest, we set our sights on this cache... Enjoyed the bike ride to GZ as were lots of muggles out on this beautiful day Fortunately I read the description this time & we approached GZ from the right direction this time... As usual the kids found the stream alot more fun than hunting caches, so they left me to it whilst they splashed about in the stream!
TFTC and for showing us this historical spot astrohiker... I wonder how many people walk by here everyday & are not aware of what is here Log book was in ok condition, however the bottom of the container is cracked.

Got a bit confused my the multitudes of walls, but found alright in the end. Great cache
This was the longest search today , with the rains coming in I was worried I was going to get wet...I am glad I found this one...TFTC
After last weekends earthcache event, I realized how many caches were still out this way waiting to be found. So we headed back up this way again this weekend. Enjoyed the walk down the trail to these couple. Thanks astohiker
Decided to do a few other near-by caches after the "EC-EVENT BOYA QUARRY" event. Parked the geo-Getz in Darlington and walked the 'Coffee Express' run from there with my geo-wife, diverting to do this one and 'Lone Marri' on the return trip.
One of the great things about geocaching is that every now and again, you come across some little gem of a location such as this ... a very interesting historic site that I would otherwise never have known about. Visiting this cache/location was the highlight of the afternoon !
Signed the log and dropped off a path tag. Thanks for the hide astrohiker. Fav awarded.

We came in on the lower trail so had to scramble up the bank of rocks to get to gz. The geo-hubbies volunteered and soon we had collected our smiley. Thanks astrohiker
Found it! Had a great walk to get this cache. Now have to find a way back to the car!! Interesting wall, would love to see it in winter, full of water!
This was our 3rd cache find in a caching run of 4 Finds & 1 DNFs today.
We found it at 11:31 so this now makes our total find count 7585.
[blue]
We thoroughly enjoyed our stroll along the trail from Coffee Express #4 to access this cache. We also used the nearby path to access "Lone Marri"
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks astrohiker for the hunt today.

Out and about in this area today, having an unexpected day off from babysitting so what better to do on such a lovely day than go caching!
This was one of several caches found today along this Railway Reserves Heritage Trail and all were most enjoyable. (Bar the last one attempted, which was a DNF!) I see there are still quite a few more to find, too, further up the track.
Parked at the end of Ferguson Rd and clambered down the slope to the trail, then walked along the trail to the turn off recommended and followed the little path to the easily found cache.
Left my pathtag. Thanks for the interesting information about this area and the cache astrohiker.

Out with AlliedOz doing some caches in the area, as AlliedOz mentioned in his log that he had done some in the area already so his count for the day wasn't as high as mine TFTC! Also thanks AlliedOz for retracing your footsteps today!
