No luck today, pole has been recently replaced, though the date is back in June I'm not sure if that is install date or manufacture date. Signs and smell of a recent small fire in the bushes too.

#4884. I have been down south on a work trip and today was the second day I had set aside to do geocaching. Had hired a car on the Monday and had until 5pm today to locate as many caches as possible close to Invercargill. Parked nearby and then went to look for the cache. Missed seeing it at the obvious spot on the first check. Had a quick search around and decided it had to be back there and it was! Signed and replaced exactly as found. Thanks for the cache farmer2some.
Day three of my long, long weekend in Otago and Southland and I’m loving every moment of it. Woke this morning in my Airbnb in Winton to the sound of rain so I was a little downcast thinking I was back to wet shoes and socks for the day. However, my fears were misjudged as the day was crisp and clear. Left Winton with a good impression and more than I arrived (pre-arrival all I knew that the only woman hanged in New Zealand, Minnie Dean, came from here).
Heading out of Invercargill now after a short trip to Bluff. A quick find here so I could get on my way towards Dunedin. TFTC

Driving around and searching some caches as well. The mile wasn't so golden today, lots of traffic though. TFTC.
I added a bit of geocaching to make my trip from Dunedin to Bluff a bit more interesting. Thanks.
A quick park and grab. Cheers
Last day our Easter holiday to Invercargill. Time for the trek home...
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Enough room for my truck to park off the road. Ducked into hide and grabbed the box. SL
A quick find. Nothing golden but an earlier logging has indicated that it is floral.
My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. The Seagnoid is navigator and scribe, Zara and I have teamed up and Im cache logger. Its The Catlins to Bluff today, so lets get going!
OK Im not listening properly to the navigator so overtake the stop zone. A quick walk back to GZ to snag and tag this one. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 9: Catlins to Bluff.
I was navigating, and doing the cache countdown, but the dragon forgot to use the brakes, and we stopped 182m from the cache! So a nice little walk back. Some idgit put the pen in the bag with the log book, and now the bag is punctured.

No golden mile here today but quick find of cache. On a 11 day caching trip around the south island. Log signed as b&p.Tftc farmer2some. Find # 3824
Wanted to find this one while we're still in the Golden weather. We "sprung" across this quickly, thanks for the cache and thanks for the pencil as we left pen at home.
Found on our way down South to Bluff for the weekend. Such a busy highway but used the car to hide from north bound so cache soon in hand. TFTC
This was our first find on an afternoon of caching, thanks for the find Nana and Grandad!
No 10 today on our way home... Haven't made it far 2hrs from invercargill to get a mile lol. Tftc
Found myself in Invercargill with an evening and most of a day to kill so a bit of caching was on the agenda. This cache was handy to where I was staying. Quick find. TFTC.
Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH and I are on Day 12 of our 19-day New Zealand caching honeymoon and our today's route took us from Invercargill to Dunedin. We focused mostly on picking up some very old caches and also stopped for some others along the route.
This was our first find after leaving Invercargill early in the morning. It was a bit tough getting across the busy road, but we did it safely and found the cache quickly. Thanks!

HockeyHiker19 and I were on Day 12 of our Geocaching honeymoon in New Zealand. On this day we traveled from Invercargill to Dunedin.
This was our first find of the day and we were traveling in the wrong direction when we pulled over. We were able to get completely off the road and make our way across the street. From that point, we made a quick find.

Left a TB too.
We did not want to stop, but could not resist.... As mentioned - the logbook is very wet. TFTC
I could imagine what this would have looked like a month ago, spectacular I'll bet. The cache and contents were very, very wet. TFTC
Found on the move, Dunedin to Invercargill road trip with detours on a magnificent balmy spring day.
Now on final approach to Invercargill we couldn't resist yet another cache.
Cache find was straightforward, log signed; cache then safely re-hiden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

The expansion of Invercargill has resulted in many life style blocks springing up on the outskirts of the town. Looks like not every one is struggling these days. While the cache is on the main road, you can secrete yourself from the passing muggles in the shrubs that afford good cover.
After a bit of an erratic gps, carlis nz found and signed the log no flowers for us though. Tftc guys
My 6th find of the day with my Brother I Am Azrael. Quick N Grab. TFTC, second attempt on this one.
No flowers at this time of the year but we did find the cache. Found with debsnz
Quick find on the way home to Dunedin after Granvilles 12-12-12 event. Parked the car on the other side of the road - identified the likely spot and was rewarded. Salamat!
We stopped off here on the way back to Dunedin. Plenty of motorbikes, and the associated increased police presence, going past heading home after the Burt Munro Challenge.
On a gentle bike ride around town on a fine but windy evening. Always admire the daffodils herein the spring.
Quick find as we started making our way back to Dunedin (we arrived about 230am) after an afternoon caching in Southland, and evening in Invercargill. Cheers Gav
Spent the night in Invercargill after driving from Dunedin to Bluff yesterday. Caching all the way and around town yesterday afternoon and last night. Drivng back to Dunedin this morning and this was cache number two. Quick find. Had to wait for the traffic to thin out. Used the car as a hide as we parked right in front of GZ. TFTC.
A quick find with RexTrex, Sol de Lune, Zsazsa7 and Fitzy as we worked our way north through the city. This was a pretty location on the outskirts. Thanks farmer2some.
Grabbed in the company of Winglen, SolDeLune, RexTrex and Fitzy.
No problems with the grab today. Thanks farmer2some for yet another.

A day to cache around the Invercargil area. Decided to head down this way and work our way back towards and into town. This was an interesting spot to visit, so glad we made the effort. It was another windy day, but that wasn't going to stop us. Cache was found after a quick search, no problems with it.
Found with ZsaZsa7, Winglen, fitzy_1965 and Rextrex (local NZer) on our trip around the South Is after attending the New Zealand Mega. We managed to grab a few caches on travels and this was just one of them.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to see more of the South island.

A shared find with my Aussie caching mates Winglen, Zsazsa7, Sol de Lune and Fitzy-1965 as a part of the NZMEGA2012 experience and our subsequent tour.
As children we always used to count the coloured mile-markers along this stretch of road. It wasn't too hard as our car didn't go very fast - only 60 mph.
Thanks farmer2some for the cache and the golden memories.
