Logs
Epic fail you pwned us n00bs... You are only as good as your next find.Found the bridge and couple of logs. One is stuck in the mud and the other is empty.
Made the smart decision of continuing on from the previous caches rather than walking back to cache location on the map. Quick find here. Log is doing well after heavy rain in the last couple days.
During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them. Really enjoyed these letterbox series. We often had to re-read the description as we thought we had gone too far, or not far enough, but they were all accurate at the end of the day and all the caches were found nicely tucked away. FP for the series (the way it's done, rather than the cache itself)
An expedition with Crystal Fairy & Barefootguru. Most logs signed as BIC to save space and time. Number 13802 TFTC Rabbitto !Really enjoyed the wander around the area, a really well constructed route.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
*** draft log for stats tracking, more later ***GC33281 Rabbitto's Valley Letterbox Series #326 March 2024T13:43:27 AEDTTFTC RabbittoA shorter wander from the previous, though still getting caught out with distances between clues varying. Quick cautious find
Used the directions for this one. Happened to be the way we were going for the other ecent anyway. A quick one in the heat of the afternoon. Thanks.
Having taken almost three years between finding caches #1 and #2 in this series, when I said a week ago that I would be back for #3 I didn't expect it would be this soon... but that is how live goes sometimes. I was making my way over to Balaclava for some "cat sitting" and wanted to find a Mystery cache today. I hadn't originally planned to come via Mount Waverley... but plans changed. So with a little time to spare, I decided to drop into this rather pleasant reserve and take another guided stroll. With the aid of excellent instructions, I soon arrived at GZ. The cache was quickly found... fortunately nice and dry after all the rain we have just had. Thanks **Rabbitto** for another excellent cache... only one more to go... maybe next week but i will have to see.
Took a few photos on the way as I was now in full swing with these letterbox puzzle hybrids. Quick find here in a logical spot. I can see it gets wet here though. All good today.Thank you Rabbitto for the cache.
I love the very unneeded diversions down the side tracks. I know it's coming but I still keep taking them!
Looking forwards to #4
Looking forwards to #4
Now into the third of this fantastic letterbox series, we read the instructions and followed the trails, crossing bridges, going through little gates, to reach the next find. In a little muddy patch, but easy enough to retrieve. A cool place, a cool cache and a cool hide! Thanks for this great series Rabbitto
When I completed Letterbox #2 several years ago I forgot to record GZ's co-ordinates. That meant I had to walk around #1 and #2 to be able to pick up on the instructions for finding #3, sigh. On arriving at GZ I was worried that a recent minor flood might have washed the container away. However it was safe and dry. Tftc and on to #4.

Hi there Rabbitto,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is some sort of issue. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of issues are evident.
The cache has been [**temporarily disabled**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235), so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location, until the issues/s can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days,** so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.
#What you need to do:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache** - once checked, place an Owner Maintenance log and then enable the cache.
- **Place A Write Note Log** - indicating a date when you expect it will be restored.
- **Adopt Out or Archive** - depending on whether you want it kept or for it to disappear.
Full details for each of the above choices can be found at [**GEOCACHE MAINTENANCE**]( https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Victoria) on the Regional Policies page.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned.
It would be far better if you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
Thanks for your cooperation,

Love this park and love the easy to follow instructions. As others have mentioned, the cache is in desperate need of some TLC. The container was full of water, which we emptied and the logbook is completely saturated. We added a write in the rain log and placed it in a new ziplock bag, but not sure how long this will last due to the conditions of the hide.
Still a ripper of a cache which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Rabbitto.

I found the instructions much clearer when compared to he others. The travel time was a little shorter as well, but that could be because the AdLab finds had dried up.
At GZ, the cache was found quickly, but it was full of water and completely unusable. I took a photo as proof of the find. This cache will need a new log and possibly a new location while the area dries out.

My goal for 2023 has been to try and get close to qualifying for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=54e007c1-391b-4f69-b6f2-af7b91887d92&ds=2) [The Non-Traditional Calendar Challenge (GC7RCQ3)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC7RCQ3) and today I found myself needing to find another non-traditional cache.
Well as someone who is a newbie puzzler, I don't find many mystery caches, and usually have to resort to finding multi caches in order to fill in my non-traditional calendar grid. However, with this series having a letterbox option, I have been able to utilise them to fill in some of my missing dates.
I had originally [found](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=7c4e5c42-78cd-48b0-8d5f-e4cddef1ad1b) the first cache in the series, [Rabitto's Valley Letterbox Series #1 (GC33260)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC33260_rabbittos-valley-letterbox-series-1) back in Nov. 2022 and waited until the 5th of May to [find](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=106d8aa3-386e-471d-a108-171860f7004a) [Rabitto's Valley Letterbox Series #2 (GC3327D)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3327D_rabbittos-valley-letterbox-series-2)
Well with needed to find another non-traditional cache today, I came back out to collect #3.
With all the rain we've been having, the paths were just a little bit muddy. However, it was still a nice walk through the [Valley Reserve](https://www.monash.vic.gov.au/Things-to-Do/Parks-Recreation/Valley-Conservation-Reserve).
All of the instructions were easily followed from [#2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3327D_rabbittos-valley-letterbox-series-2) which led me basically straight to GZ. Unfortunately, when I arrived I spotted the cache under water. I had to reach in and fish it out, and all I was hoping was that the container seal was water tight.
It was not....
Unfortunately, when I opened up the cache container it was just filled with water. I then dumped out the water and the logbook was completely saturated. I attempted to sign the logbook, but this one will unfortunately need to be replaced.
Big thanks to [Rabbitto](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=73c5d89d-31a1-40cd-a46d-39742e099a93&wid=24dedd7b-2942-4d86-b705-c9c37b1a87eb&ds=2) for the fun today and TFTC.
**Cache Maintenance Status**
The cache container was found submerged in water, but it is in ok shape. The logbook however I think is completely ruined, as it was soaked through. It is a soggy mess.

I think all the rain has caused the water level to rise, as I found the cache submerged in water. I’ve pulled it out and dumped out the water inside the cache, but the logbook is completely ruined. I’ve placed it just slightly east of where I found it so it’s no longer in water, but this one will need a new logbook.
Having finished number two in this series it was straight onto number 3. Nice straight forward instructions to follow and I was soon at GZ to find a very wet log. Attempted to sign it but too wet and needs attention. Someone had place another log in a plastic clip lock bag which was all good to sign. TFTC
Find number 3 for the day… after a bit of work to identify left from right, the cache was found hidden under the log. Sadly saturated, but still a good find!
Continuing our day, Crustyvarmint, pooch Pilot and I made good use of the glorious sunweather, enjoying the sunshine, the park and the company. We navigated our way without incident, finding our answers in good time. Thanks Rabbitto for this series.
Today was a great day for caching in the reserve, Picking up these letterbox caches had been on my mind for quite some time, So Pilot the canine cache sleuth, Redcb and I spent the day enjoying the fun of navigating our way to GZ. We found the instructions very clear, and had no problem arriving at GZ.
The log book is sodden, and unusable. We left a fresh log sheet in a ziplock bag.
Thanks for the wonderful experience, Rabbitto. A favourite point coming your way.

Thanks for taking us into this fenced-off area that we usually ignore. Again, clear instructions and an easy find. The log is saturated but we were still able to add our tag.
Sosad dropped my pencil on the way coundnt physically log it The box is quite damp so might not be able to write it on anyways. Thank you
I enjoyed the walk to #3. The logbook is suffering from a bit too much moisture in this location. Unfortunately I didn’t have s zip lock bag handy which would sort out this issue. Thank you Rabbitto for placing and maintaining Rabbitto's Valley Letterbox Series #3 for us to find today.

Being such a lovely day today, we were looking for a family outing. We were all a bit tired after a late night last night, but better to be out than to mope around at home.
Like all sensible people, we opted for option 3, which took us on a really enjoyable walk around the reserve, collecting the four Rabbitto's Valley Letterbox Series caches as we went. Starting at the last cache we found, we followed the instructions to this one. This one was soaking wet when we found it. You can see too that the water had flooded the bridge and left it a sloppy mess.
We dried the container as best as we could, although the log book was soaked. We still managed to sign it though.
Thanks for a really enjoyable series Rabbitto.

The last time I visited this park was for The Great Victorian Cache Crawl and we were a little short in time to grab the new adventure lab. So I teamed up with OzHockeyChick for some afternoon caching to complete this and a few other caches in this park.
It was a nice afternoon and a great way to explore the park. The cache was found and in good shape.
Thanks Rabbitto for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

While learner offspring was at uni this morning, I set out to explore this lovely reserve.
Well this series certainly gives the full tour of the place.
I started doing the ALs concurrently while navigating to this one.
A little damp, but still able to make my mark.

Quick wander around the reserve between the showers. All caches found quick and easily, this was a little moist as the puddles are just below cache level. TFTC and adventure.
Following the instructions and enjoying the walk, this one is soggy loggy but still able to sign. On to the next one!

I am enjoying my walk of discovery through the reserve with TanSaf. There were plenty of birds and flowers to look at while we walked along following the very clear instructions. I was very relieved that the cache was found exactly as the directions stated.
Thank you Rabbitto for this cache and the ongoing maintenance.

Hi there Rabbitto,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Ooops - been sitting in drafts. Who's in a hurry?! I've been chipping away at these as the Reserve is within cooee of my mum and where I grew up. It's quite a gem in the burbs of marvellous Melbs. The cache and container are in good condition, however the log is a tad damp - barely left a mark. TFTC and the FUN.
What a lovely reserve! Second time here grabbing some caches.
I opted to check out the recipe book, as I have an electronic copy. Easy peasy! Found the cache easily enough. I went to location of a couple of others in this area, but as I’m still in my dressy work clothes and nice sandals, I opted to come back more suitably attired.
This was an easy find, but a soggy loggy prevented me from signing my name. Photo sent to CO as evidence of the find.
Thanks for bringing me here again

This is fun, let's do the next one! Wandering through this reserve is pure pleasure. This one was a little damp too. Thanks for the letterboxing fun Rabbitto, it was nice not to be looking at a phone so much.
This was a shorter one, not very hard to spot it. Thanks for the cache #dubseason
Extremely. extremely brutal find. i am exhausted. my knees are weak, arms heavy. i am victorious, as always. Watch me win. Watch me. #dubseason
Cheeky twist and turns that CO puts in. I’m starting to think these Lego pieces mean something.

Out and about today with PrezDough grabbing a few caches.
This letterbox series certainly gets a bit fun and the directions are a bit cheeky here. Thanks for the that…!

Out on our exercise within outlet 15km radius. We’re are enjoying getting out to nature, and surprised how little people were on the tracks. We had such a pleasant afternoon, following the directions for this letterbox and really getting to enjoy the stroll and seeing the wildlife. So glad these set of caches get us out to most of the reserve TFTC.
This cache took a little to find the right spot, but easily found it once we had it.

While looking for a series of geocaches to find on our wanderings within our 15km zone, we stumbled across this tight series. The map looked interesting and made a good launching spot for other caches in the area. After arriving we gathered our bearings by having a quick look around while walking to GZ. WOW what an amazing place. Beautiful bush-land and lovely 'curated' spaces for play and picnics. It was a pleasure walking around the area carefully following the instructions. We enjoyed a different way of searching for GZ. Required more attention to the environment. This deep forest near a muddy water course bred huge mozzies which feasted on us while we searched at GZ. An easy find and speedy retrieval was definitely needed and appreciated. TFTC We have given it a fav point for across all the series.

Out on my bike around the limits of my 15km perimeter.
A beautiful day for it.
Hooray, found another of these great old caches. My coordinates were way off but the directions were superb.
All is happy at this location.
**Thanks for the fun Rabbitto**

The 3rd of the series found while out getting some exercise with the geokids. This is such a beautiful reserve, it's been hard not finding this whole series in one go, but we wanted to leave the last one for our next visit. There were heaps of native plants in full flower. TNLNSL, TFTC.
Great walk, scared my girlfriend with a stick (she thought it was a bug). That’s why there is an angry face!
Hurray! I first looked for this in March 2020, before everything went sideways. It's very satisfying to be back here and convert the sad blue face to a happy yellow smiley! TFTC!
Some more unfinished business because the cache was missing during my last visit.
Today the log was soon signed.

No dogs allowed in the final section of this one, so had to leave the geodog with Finding.Sarah and continue on with just the little one
The last few caches have been fun.
A short stop to eat some grapes, re-charge and I’m hooked to continue the journey!
What a wonderful way to explore this park.
Thanks for the cache

I did this series a few years ago but unfortunately it was missing at the time. Heading back today for a play date/ adventure Lab experience I had the opportunity to have another look. The only issue was I had to redo the first ones as I could not remember for the life of me where I had to look! This time it was a nice quick find, plus I got to enjoy a walk at the same time. Happy to remove this sad face from my map and turn it into a smile. TFTC Rabbitto
I kept forging on following the directions, hoping I was not missing clues. I must have been getting g a bit better with the instructions as this one did not take me as long and the first two. The cache was a quick find where I expected it to be.
Number three in my pirates adventure!.... i’m loving this trek, and loving these trails. One more to go but I wish it would never end.

Left a painted monster rock!

Lovely park to walk around. Beautiful native plants surrounding. Found it and thanks Rabbitto for placing this cache.
I enjoyed following the instructions to find my next location but I kept running into two other walkers at what seemed like every turn.. it became quite comical in the end.. however the final trail I found myself on, I had to myself. I appreciated both the peace and quiet and the opportunity to locate the cache without interruption .. the cache looks safe in its new home.. close enough for retrieval but well hidden from prying muggle eyes.. thanks Rabbitto for placing and maintaining the cache.
Replaced cache today. As this is our eighth time we have replaced this cache, we have moved the cache location about half a metre to the right of the original cache location in the hope that it will be a little more secure. The cache page has been adjusted accordingly. If you are coming back from one of the recent DNFs, please note the change.
My wife loves cooking and therefore Margaret Fulton's recipes were soon found.
I'm sure I looked in the right place, but it seems the cache has disappeared, probably washed away in the recent storm.
Thanks for the puzzle Rabbitto.

Looks like the spot in question is fenced off. Could the cache owner please check on this one?
I'm sure I was in the right place, but no amount of searching could reveal the cache. I'll try again next week.
Our tour continued with this cache. Again the instructions were clear (although I think one of the gates must have disappeared). We found the cache without any problems.
Thanks Rabbitto for bringing us to this fantastic park.

It's been a long time since I've been to valley reserve so it's been nice to explore it a bit. TFTC
Hey, Rabbitto, thanks a million for introducing me to this little gem of a reserve, one which I have been near on hundreds of occasions but never even knew of it’s existence until this week.
It was a true delight wandering through the paths through here to uncover the carefully hidden caches.
All are in good nick.
Thanks again. Fine work

Nice easy find as we continued our walk on a stunning afternoon - thanks for the cache!
The trail continues with more unexpected twists than an Agatha Christie novel. What a fascinating hunt! T4TC!!!
Listening to the frogs has been a highlight of this walk. It is worth taking your time and not rushing through this series as its a beautiful location. Tftc
Out and about with Trailstevo tonight. Had a tough night, have many DNFs tonight, one of those nights I guess. Lots of pleasant short walks that the Geomutt relished! Had a pleasant mid week escape. Thanks for the fun.
Not the most successful night of caching Gunks and I have done. 50% strike rate. Found this one to complete this series as it was missing when the other three were done. TFTC
Back again to finish this series, after noticing this one had been reactivated. A quick find after starting from #2. Tftc and thanks for the series! Fav point from me
Even though the cache was enabled I found the place and was able to use this as the starting point to collect the 4 piece
