As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not responded or performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to un-archive it.

Tide was quite far out so the view, whilst not bad, obviously wasn't as spectacular as it could have been! Nice quick find, another of the 'seat' caches ticked off. TFTC

Nice quick find - so quick indeed we had spotted other cachers searching (unobtrusively for the average muggle-eye, but obvious to another cacher) as we pulled up nearby. Went out and introduced myself to a couple of cachers from Auckland, who kindly allowed me to sign the log before getting on our way.

Staying at Ounuwhao Harding House and came across this. Beautiful and touching.

Very wet find today. I remember this seat well, made good use of it when doing the Paihia to Russell walk a few years ago, prior to caching days. Tftc

Log replaced with a dry one. Cache back in its original position.

Found! needs a new container as paper to write on was extremely soggy!

Cache found on an afternoon run. Not sure why a Traditional cache is deliberately not at the coords... It penalises those cachers who prefer not to use a hint, which in this case is essential. Cache is sadly waterlogged and soggy. TFTC.

Enjoying the stormy see by jumping with the boat over the waves on the way to the hole in the rock...I left the boat on the way back to have a quick find after a short walk. TFTC

Up visiting from Hastings and doing a Northland road trip. Staying in Russel for a few nights to watch dolphins, catch snapper and have fun in the sun, oh and to do as much caching as possible.

Came by here several times, always seemed to be low tide as we never saw the small boat in the water!

Made a quick stop in to pick up this cache before heading into Russell for the BOI Walking Weekend. Nice quick find TFTC.

We got a bit confused by this because the coordinates were so far out, but used the clue and it was straightforward. Allan did a great job on restoring the old house across the road. TFTC.

Yes it was missing so I have relocated it. Check the hint, as the coordinates are for the seat.

Have found a few of the seat caches so far but had trouble with this one. Has it been muggled?Would love to find it as it's namesake is very special to our family.
