As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
No joy here today. We found what we thought was the cache, and where we thought the log should have been, but it looks like something is missing off the top.
Fiddled around for a while but couldn't retrieve the cache. Had some ideas of what it might be (loose metal object) but couldn't get any further than that. Saw some white stuff that might used to have been the log (now destroyed) but just thoughts. Will definitely be back sometime.
Spotted what I thought was the hint item as we approached GZ however upon arrival I couldn't gain access to the log sheet so started to doubt my initial thoughts. Fortunately huntit added a little muscle to the situation and we soon had the cache in hand. Nice hide, SL TFTC
While visiting the area today checking out a few caches with HamishD we spotted this one as we were approaching. Took us a little bit to suss out how to get log in hand. Nice cache.
Had to wait for a car to leave, it was parked exactly at GZ After that it was one grab and I got it

Second visit with UlmusLynx Couldnt access log last time better luck this time. Log sheet a bit damp and torn TFTC
Great bit of urban camo - very nicely done!! Found after finding Mrs Chippy and the nearby night cache. TFTC
#1629 Found after visiting Mrs Chippy and realising how close we were to this traditional. Spotted the cache on approach and happily signed the logbook- very well executed hide. Fits right in! Nobody about today and the weather turned out to be very nice indeed- perfect for picking up a few caches.
Forgot to log this earlier.. this is a very cleverly hidden disguise with a very appropriate hint.... it is just soooo Natural and in place..... Many thanks for this cache....
Worked it out quickly, but the log was very full. This time our car was close, and our cache repair kit included a suitable log, so we replaced it.
All good for many new finders.

#464. Love the caches that sit in places everyone can see but only a cacher would think to remove a log from it. A rather solemn place but nice to visit this end of the Karori cemetery. TFTC
Cunning hide this one. We were on a quick drive and grab tour today. I must come back and do the multis
Found quickly with the hint, thanks for bringing us to this interesting place! I really enjoyed looking around and grabbing the two multis in the area
Quick find as we had seen a cache like this before. Cool camo. Log book is over full and may need replacing very soon. TFTC
Really great cache, so much fun and a real magic moment when I finally cottoned on. Initially we were led up the garden path by the GPS, but it's a great place to go for a wander.
Thanks heaps for this absolutely lovely cache!

My 50th cache - and what a great one. Absolutely the best I've seen yet.
Found with Jae68 after a walk with our walking group.

Wow! Best logbook container ever. Unfortunately the log was full, JacqiB and I wrote our names on a seperate piece of paper and put it in with the original. This one deserves a favorite.
Last find on our walk around this vast cemetry. Tricky one and master five was most pleased to be the first to reveal the cache. TFTC. #272
TFTC. I had a few minutes to fill in and decided to have a look around this vast cemetery and pick up a cache or two if time permitted.
I discovered a great cache and was delighted to sign the log.
A favourite vote from me.
Thanks fozmiester for placing this cool cache.

As I was out and about in Karori, it seemed a good idea to stop by for this one. Fortunately there weren't many hiding options at GZ so I was able to go straight to the well hidden cache.

Second visit successful.. so perseverance paid off.. Dang it seems so obvious now..
1st day in Wellington and went straight for Welly caches! Had a great 4 days and got to geocache again with my dad who flew in from Austria, Europe
Went to find family in Karori Cemetery - great experience!

Hey - that's a cool cache! I wandered up the nearby track thinking it was along that, but soon found it wasn't from there is easy to find the cache, and only took a moment to get it open. TFTC
Our last for the day after coming from Mt Kaukau and off the skyline ridge. Just couldn't find it. Another day.
Find #1814. On a random walk via a section of the Skyline walk to collect a few more caches on a picture perfect day in Wellington. Twigged to this one after a few moments looking in other random places. Clever hide. SL TFTC
Great camo, A little moisture inside the container still able to log though.

Out and about Saturday caching. Keen to deal to some Wellington caches that have been on the 'to do' list for a little bit of time.
Neat cache.
Cache find was straightforward at the final. Log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with Team Cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Log sheet almost unusable. Barely scratched in our names. Needs a new sheet and probably some kind of protection from the rain.
Cache # 1,461 - Did today with Violet Butterfly after attending a wedding nearby in Kelburn. Instant find, thanks to the clue, but still a very clever hide. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found today with The Wandering Dragons just before the rain set in. Thanks!
Cache # 557

A no-go for me today unfortunately. Any extra hints would be very much appreciated.
Passed also by this interesting cemetery. Took a few minutes before i found it. Nice hide. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Geohounds Topsy and Mika helped Tremichlan and I sniff this one out. Nice to see a number of walkers taking a stroll in this area of the Karori Cemetery.
Cache No.2 for me!
Cache No.2 for me!
Quick find with no muggles about. Log was damp, but still able to sign . TFTC !
I thought and pondered, waited for the man and dog to go, and then decided, yeah I was right. A clever hide. Tftc.
Missed it a couple of months ago, so tried again today. Got it straight away! TFTC!
On another day, this cache could have had me completely bamboozled. However, I was in fine form today and I immediately figured out what was going on here. Great work, fozzmiester.
GPS is of little use here luckily "not a grave" counts out most of the area. Could have been a quick find if a lady delivering flowers hadn't decided to park right on the GZ. The cache hide is so well done it looks like it has been there as long as the graves, the wife was completely fooled. Thanks fozzmiester.
What a situation finderskeepers and I got our selves into. After getting lost twice we found monkey the cat again and the cache with a very large magpie nearby. Signed the log and looked around....ugh my sense of navigation curse you! Took us another half hour just to find a way out. 2 1/2 hrs later got the cache and got out of there Tftc!!!
Took a second approach to strike it lucky. No need for special tools on this occasion. Very well done. I'm glad it is in a quieter area of the cemetery! TFTC
Nice work! Awesome spot to hide this cache. Would probably had trouble finding it if not for the clue. Found with swebber04 +1 kidlet. TFTC!
A quick find, this time we brought an appropriate device with us to get into the cache. TFTC
Had been dead keen to log this cache after hearing JardisLikeTardis talk of her own visit to GZ - and I wasn't disappointed.
This part of the cemetery was void of life come midday so while I contemplated the challenge before me, geodog Coca ran around looking for old bones.
Felt a bit of a drip when I finally got to sign the logbook, though, as I'd let the recent rain fool me for a good five minutes.
Thankfully, there wasn't another similar item in the vicinity, otherwise I might well have left with a grave look on my face.

Had looked at this after completing Night Terrors, figured where the cache was, but couldn't get it out.
This time I drove right up to the cache, and Mrs 1Grunta quickly worked it out, while I grabbed a special tool from the boot of the car.
Not sure that I actually needed the tool today.
A nice clever cache.

I checked this out the other day while gathering info for Sepulchres' Quest, but just couldn't get to the logbook. Last night, after completing Night Terrors, I bumped into SAROC (who gave me quite a fright!) and he helped me redirect my focus. Success! Very nicely done, Fozz. Nice to meet you, SAROC, and thanks for the pointer. TFTC
Find 28 of the 100 day challenge. Very late night grab at the end of a long long the day, Had to have the walk in after going to the AFL at the stadium. This is a very nice cache and well deserves a favorite point. Great camo and really well placed in context- things we really appreciate in a hide. Thanks
Quick find, slightly longer grab...
Got there in the end. On the upside no muggles about, breathing or otherwise.

Spotted the cache right away, though I wasn't sure about it as it didn't open in quite the way I first expected, but then soon had the log in hand. Strange object in the thing near the cache, I was sure it wasn't the cache but couldn't work out what on earth is was meant for!

Found while on the way back down from the cache just up the hill. Had to resort to the phone to download the cache details as the GPS didn't seem to have this cache loaded in its memory. (Note to self, refresh and update GPX file). Probably checked the same places as everybody else has before without success so had to think just a wee bit more laterally. Almost muggled by a pooch walker before tumbling to the quite clever cache hide. Nice one, earns a fav. TFTC
I wondered what bkj97 was doing and tried to interfere without success. Oh, sneaky. T4TCSL
I did this one on my way down to Karori after doing the 'Skyline Trail' from Johnsonville TFTC fozzmiester
Boxhill's up to his usual tricks again - but for once a quick find for me (There's a first time for everything!) TFTC
This was my closest unfound cache to home and couldn't be allowed to remain that way . Went for a walk after a late dinner and found the cache by torchlight just as darkness was falling. It didn't take too long to find, I scored a similar one in Canterbury about 10 days ago but this one was better executed. Quite deceptive, I came back to it several times before I realised how to open it. Signed log, TFTC and it's worth a favourite point.
Happy Days FTF . Nothing like your phone going “pid-ding” to make one wake up in a hurry. I was having a quiet lie in this morning when the notification arrived. I was soon up dressed and out the door. I got to GZ to find d4five looking for the cache. I soon spotted the cache after a brief look around, so thankfully the party didn’t turn into a wake. One up for a dedicated GPS unit over a phone by about 20 metres this morning. Nice to meet d4five as well, and share the FTF with him. TFTC
Yipee!!!! First to find!!! Sort of....
I got the email on the way for a run and the cemetery was on the way. Spent about 15 minutes there with out luck and then was about to try my last spot when Boxhill appeared and found it. Had a quick chat and compared GPS devices and then both agreed to share the FTF since I was there first and he found it.
GPS coordinates not too bad. I was good to finally put a face to the name (Boxhill). Till next time and thanks for the cache.
