Find # 14249I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC kiara001
Continuing the drive to complete this series, didn't stay too long. TFTC kiara001 and adding these heroes to the trail.
Out with weredunn4 picking up a few caches in the Tailem Bend / Karoonda area.A quick find stamp and return here todayTFTC

Thought I would get some more of the wandering hero's trail today with Geopup. TYFTC
Caching with the JAMS crew finding Wandering Heroes caches. We ended up finding over 300 and hiding 2 more. We replaced a lot of containers that were broken. We had a few showers of rain early which were getting us wet but they didn't last too long and it ended up being a nice day. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches.
Out with the JAMS crew JJ52, Mogni, Allister W and sir_spectre, plus TallBikeStan and BratKat on this run. The logs where stamped as Mystery Randoms. The target's today where the Wander Heros trail ( as far as we could get ) plus any other caches in the towns or close to the road and the nearby Lab cache in Karoonda. We got slowed down by the rain till almost lunch. No wildlife sighted, not even a kanagroo. We found over 300 + caches, some of us had found some of them before but we are aligning all of our maps to the same finds. We replaced over 40 wandering heroes caches we found broken, most logbooks where dry and put in the new cache. Any logsbooks found close to full had a scroll added to the cache and all broken caches we removed and put in the bin. By the end of the day we had over a garage bag full of broken caches.
Another JAMS day was organised to tackle the Wandering Heroes trail (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre plus tallbikestan and BratKat). We started the day with rain and hail as we drove through the hills towards Tailem Bend but by the time we started the series we just had a couple of light showers and then for the rest of the day it was fine although we had strong cool winds.
That didn't stop us though, and we had a fun day finding around 300 caches plus an Adventure Lab in Karoonda. We had come prepared with lots of spare containers and replaced a heap of broken containers and sometimes logbooks. We managed to get to Sandalwood where we called it a day, so now have plans to come back and completed the last of the series.
This was my first visit out here since 2016 and by the end of the day I had 197 finds plus the Adventure Lab which I was pretty happy about.
Thanks for the cache kiara001.

Day 319 ( Monday 13th ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Karoonda today. A total of 63 for the day and 6230 for the trip. TFTC
Well, the Mega was over, my geobuddies headed back home and now I was off to SA to continue my geotrip solo
Moving right along on the geo trip and today's goal was to knock off more of the Wandering Heroes and OTD series as well as any others along the way. Most were easy finds with only a couple proving a challenge.
Thanks for the hide and for the series, kiara001

Heading out for the afternoon to tackle more of the Wandering Heroes series this afternoon so this will be a generic log. All caches were found in good condition, unless otherwise noted, on an enjoyable sunny afternoon.

Our wandering continued today, with ilook4geo, along the Wandering Heroes trail. This was a quite good section on the trail in that only a few containers were damaged and need to be replaced. The log books also were mostly in good condition and there were quite a lot that had been replaced. It was a pleasure to find the containers in this section of the trail. Each found log book had two lots of initials added.
Thanks go to kiara001 for adding to the fun of caching.
Thanks go to kiara001 for adding to the fun of caching.
Today the caching hunt with goingplaces2 included many of the Wandering Heroes series as well as some Lost Wanderers series. Happy to add our initials to each log and replace everything before we moved on. TFTC.
Tuesday 8 November 2018.
Congrats on being honoured on this trail.
Yet another fabulous day out with gridge98...so fabulous that we stamped all of the logs as "Fabulous Randoms" (the ink in a few was becoming a little light).
We stopped at about 150 caches today as we were on a mission for Connor to reach his 4,000th caching milestone, and for me to get closer to my 10,000th. I'd found a few before today so my find count was a little lower, but anything over the 100 mark is a great day caching! We even began our day by attending a coffee event at 7:30am and then finished it with dinner and movies...haha, yep, the GIFF event was on tonight at the German Club.
Thanks so much for the cache kiara001! [^]

A day out with GoodLook on a mission to do as much of the wandering heroes series.
We found 150 along the way till we had to pull the pin and head home. Happy to find my 4000th at the last one. TFTC for all the CO for placing the caches. Some of the caches are in poor condition others are fantastic hides. We stamped all the caches with the fabulous randoms stamp

With our next milestone in sight Mr Emily and son came up to grab some caches for numbers and to make it easier when we finally finish this trail. Its nice that every cache is different here. TFTC
Heading north up Karoonda Road this morning in the hope of getting a few caches after we get to Karoonda for breakfast, this being one of those selected.
Thanks kiara001 for the cache placement here.

We came to the area back in 2014 for the Mega and started the Wandering Hero's Power trail.
Today is first time back since then so we thought lets spend the day out here and do a bit more of it.

Found with FerociousFlea on our 2017 June Long Weekend Wandering Heroes Caching Run. Totals included 155 on Saturday, 176 on Sunday and 6 early Monday, making for 337 caches in a little over 48 hours.
Thanks to all of the cache owners and caching teams that have this series named after them. Thanks also to those who make the effort to maintain other's caches so that people like us can do these caching runs. Apologies for the generic logs...

Found with Beaker on a long weekend caching trip... 337 caches in 2.5 days! Broke some personal records, had very little sleep, lots of caffeine, a few minor injuries and a heap of fun! Some great caches found, well done to everyone involved. Thanks
By luck found the container in an open area a distance from the GZ as I walked behind my hubbie, thought I'd check it out the inside of the container (log inside) for some reason as hubbie reached GZ and couldn't see anything. Cache replaced at GZ
A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Found at 1:04 PM GAFF1.

We had a great day finding many many great caches, I apologize about the generic logs however for efficiency this is the quickest way to do it for me when I'm time poor. I would like to aknowlege all the great work and innovation put into many of the hides along this route.
Thank you to all cache placers,

Found on day three of our attempt on the Wandering Heroes series. Again it was a fairly warm day so made an early start to try to avoid the warmest part of the day. We were going well until we encountered roadworks and had skip a chunk but hopefully will get another go at those ones. TFTC and the series.
We headed out with us and harleyjohn to achieve some smileys on the wandering heroes caches. We aim to get to our namesake cache. Leaving home at 7 am we set off through the back road's heading to Karoonda. What did we see?

An easy find today for us. Stamped and returned as found.
We had planned a family geo trip a few weeks ago and I left it up to the geo wife to decide where she wanted to go. Murray Bridge was one of three places to visit. Lucky she decided on this area, so we could try for 200+ in a day [^] Sometimes the parking was very difficult being double white lines and plenty of passing cars, having a companion to drive / swap with made this series that little bit easier. It was a very hot day & plenty of hours were spent in the car with much water needed. We found some great containers & loved the idea of this series. Now to rest the wheels....
[blue]Thanks for this cache, kiara 001 & to everyone for the series TNLN[/blue]

Out on this beautiful day to continue our quest to complete this great series of geocaches. Found and signed as Pem kids who consist of Braveheart17, Lozanger and Puppytail6. Left a PEG if convenient which equates to Pembroke Elite Geocachers!! Thanks to all those who make the effort to put these geos out here. Much appreciated.
Out for the weekend with Silverfoxed and on our way to Loxton. Thought we'd pick up more of this great series. Saw some other cachers honking us. TFTC
Day 1 of a 2 day caching feast on the Karoonda Highway. Can we make Karoonda by night fall team? With nose bag and water for the day we set off, head down bum up. What a fabulous series to keep us occupied and smiling.
Our aim was to get at least 80 today on the WH trail after visiting relies in ADE. We drove to Karoonda and worked our way back to TB. Exhausted now! Thank you to all the cache owners for placement. Our big 1000 milestone will now be next weekend. TFTC

One of my challenges I set myself for my trip to the SA MEGA was to see how many caches I could find in 24 hours.
Today was the day. I parked the car the night before out at the furtherest point of the caches of the OZ MEGA 2014 and slept the night there with the alarm set for just before midnight.
My aim was to complete the OZ MEGA 2014 caches then start along the Wandering Heros series and see how far I got.
At midnight I started. With no one else on the roads I moved quickly along each of the roads looking for those little 'suspicious piles of stones'. By 6 am I had just the arrow head to go. I stopped the car and changed clothes as I was getting hot in the thermals. ... and the car would not start. 2 hours later the RAA turned up and said I had a flat battery. [?] [?] [?]
Found the remaining caches (except the couple that are now missing) and headed south for the Wandering Heros series finding the odd one along the road.[^]
The Wandering Hero series are different containers at different distances from the road so they were a little trickier to find at times and my find rate slowed down a little. Slowly the day continued and my count continued to grow, passing 200 and 300. Just after 7:30pm I passed 400 caches and I eventually stopped at 8pm exhausted just before Mindarie.
20 hours and just over 400 caches.
Apologies for the cut and paste logs.

We teamed up again with Suscoe for a Post Mega tilt at the Wandering Heroes to extend our line of smilies towards "the end" - a never ending story we suspect! We actually met a number of these Heroes at the Mega and were hoping to find caches typifying them or their hiding style. As it was we had fun learning about their backgrounds and adventures thru' the detailed cache notes.
Thanks to kiara001 for the cache.

What a week this has been at the Oz Mega Event in Murray Bridge SA. I have so many caches to log so it will have to be a cut and paste log because of the numbers but this does not mean that that I don't appreciate the effort that all the cache owners have put in to hide these caches because without the hiders we would not have the pleasure of finding the vast number of caches that have been placed in this area and also the owners of caches along the roads that we have to travel to arrive in M.B and return back to our homes.
I left Geelong on Wednesday 16th April 2014 and arrived home a week later with close to 500 caches found and now the mammoth task of logging all of these caches.
Thanks to all the cache owners who placed caches for everybody to find.
Early Monday 21st April I ventured out to this group with fellow cacher Happy Feet 1 (Robin and Josh) signing the logs as B & HF1 and finding all along the way until we decided to return to Murray Bridge with our aim today was to log at least 150.
This is not the order we found these but for ease of logging I will log in order.

Suscoe headed out this afternoon after relocating to Karoonda for a bit of caching fun in the company of Phetlern.
Logs were signed in a combination of ways with Suscoe, Phetlern where we had overlapped on previous visits and S and P where we were both logging for the first time.
Another delightful day even if it was a little windy.
This cache was one of 61 finds for the afternoon.

Cached today with Team Tonka , Grub Fred and Backwards Charlie. Met many cachers along the way. The OZ Mega Flags were everywhere, what a great idea. Everyone waved to us or blew their horns, had a great time. Fun caches too!!! TFTC
I flew into Melbourne and rented a car to come to Oz Mega. This is my first geocaching trip to Australia and I am enjoying it so far. Of course I searched for and found a few caches between Melbourne and Murray Bridge.
After registering for Oz Mega I am doing some caching as part of Team Z (Grub Fred, JMCz, Team Tonka, and myself). Thursday we concentrated on the Oz Mega 2014 SA series and found almost two hundred (200) caches. Friday we concentrated on the Oz Mega 2014 Signal series and found almost one hundred (100) caches. Today we spent most of our time working on the Wandering Heroes series and found about two hundred (200) caches.
Thanks to all the volunteers for all the work in putting together the mega event and these series. If it were not for hiders, there would be no finders.

From Auckland via Sydney I arrived at Adelaide around 10pm on the 17th to be picked up by funkymunkyzone, slieschke and Cats&Dragons (thx!). The plan was a 24h geocaching run which included picking up as many caches possible involving the three trails of Oz Mega, Wandering Heroes and Tour de France. We made it just in time back to Murray Bridge to meet up with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 at GZ of our first cache. With the whole Team "NZ Fun" assembled the run started exactly at midnight.
In total we managed 727 finds and 11 DNFs in 24 hours. Wow what a great team effort!!
After the "Oz Mega 2014 SA & Signal" Series we started to concentrate on the "Wandering Heroes series". Great trail with sooooooo many awesome and creative geocaches. Thanks to all the cache owners! TFTC

I am over from New Zealand for Oz Mega 2014 and today joined forces with fellow kiwis Yorkshirekiwi83, Cats&Dragons, Funkymunkyzone, Slieschke and Alpenmilch80 for a 24 hour non stop caching run! The log books were signed under the team name of "NZ Fun"
We started near Murray Bridge and worked our way around the Oz Mega 2014 Signal trail, then on to the OZ Mega 2014 SA trail. Once those trails were finished, we headed over to Tailem Bend and worked through the Wandering Heroes series up to Loxton. From here we made our way across to the Tour De France power trail. Whilst the power trails were our main focus, we also picked up a few other caches along the way. At the end of the 24 hours we finished with 727 cache finds!!! It was an exhausting 24 hours and we still had to drive back to Murray Bridge afterwards! Sorry for the generic logs, but a big thank you to the cache owners for all of the cache placements!

We had a great time and throughly enjoyed the challenge that this presented to us all, thank you to the cache owners for being able to create such a range of caches for us to complete.
We started our run at Signal, through to OZ MEGA 2014, The Wandering Hero's, Tour de France with many other caches along the way. For all that we managed we only had 11 DNF's in the whole trip which for the numbers was pretty amazing in its own right.
So again thank you for the NZ FUN

Found with alpenmilch80, Cats&Dragons, funkymunkyzone, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 on an epic 24 hour cache run of the Oz Mega trails, Wandering Heroes, Tour de France and a bunch of caches between these. Signed as NZ Fun (and also some instances of Fun NZ as the day continued on)! A total of 727 caches were found on this run!
Thanks to all the COs for their placements!

Sitting in a pub in Auckland before the SA MEGA we decided it would be a really fun idea to try and see how many caches we could find within 24hours. So it was decided, team NZ Fun was born (myself, Alpenmilch80, Cats and Dragons, slieschke, funkymonkeyzone and vistra). We met at the dedicated starting point just before midnight and we were ready to go on the stroke of 12, we completed Signal, OZ Mega trails, Wandering Heros and the Tour de France with many others in between.
Thank you to the many cache owners who put time and effort into placing and maintaining these trails, we really appreciate it, we managed 727 caches within our 24hours, which was exhillerating, exhausting and loads of fun. Apologies for the generic log.

Left about lubch time with Gonefishen07, KTCVic and Zobo04 to find the caches on the wandering heroes and other bearby caches that they have not found. As we have not done this series we tagged along for the ride. There were some very well themed caches among these and a few favourites have been added.

Team "NZ Fun" - funkymunkyzone, slieschke, alpenmilch80, vistra, yorkshirekiwi83 and Cats&Dragons - found this on our rather loosely planned 24 hours of cache finding record run, from midnight to midnight on the 18th of April 2014. We started with the Signal geo-art trail, headed up through the other Oz Mega 2014 trails, the Wandering Heroes series and then across to the Tour de France trail for a total of 727 finds and 11 DNFs for the day. Apologies for the copy/paste logs, but with so many caches found in a single day it was impossible to remember specific caches, but that's not to say there weren't memorable caches along the way - there were indeed some great caches, particularly along the Wandering Heroes series. Special thanks to the cache hiders: OzFiresafe, Team Hurtle, and their helpers, for the Oz Mega 2014 trails; le equipe de cinq pour la piste "Tour de France"; and all the hiders of the Wandering Heroes caches and other caches along the way that we found along the way. We started at midnight on the Signal trail and ended at midnight after a few random caches in Eudunda before making the long drive back to Murray Bridge for some well earned sleep - for some of us, the first sleep for more than 45 hours. We stopped at every cache and it was a fun day but very tiring, and I don't think I'd do it again for a very long time (I'll stop short of saying never though, like organising another mega - ha!) TFTC!!!
Find 399 of 727 for the day.

A great day out hitting the caches around Murray Bridge and the Oz Mega. Miss Mary from Aussie M & M was our patient guide and drove us to all 126 caches! Thank you Mary! Down here from Toowoomba with MissLill and Kestal. TFTC!
Visiting from Toowoomba with Angloj and Kestal for the Mega. Aussie M&M took us out to get started on the Wandering Hero's Series. Thanks Mary for an awesome day of caching! TFTC!
With angloj and MissLill searching through some Wanderimg Heroes. Had a great day with one of the Ms from Aussie M'n'M. The day started off very wet but the sun came out eventually. TFTC kiara001
Headed out this morning with the ever patient jacaro44. I was running on empty from the start and, although my mood fluctuated, generally I was average at best. Happy with almost 6 hours of caching. Great company and some great caches. Thanks for the hide.
Over from WA for the SA Mega. and trying for a few smileys along the way Having a second bite at the Wandering Heros series today along with KB for added stamina but still have another days caching left to complete it. We really enjoyed the drive through the countryside and having a great excuse to visit here. Apologies for the generic logs but rest assured we do appreciate the effort the varoius COs have put in for our enjoyment..
Thanks for the caches

Day 3 of RobS72 and my caching binge in SA for the 2014 Mega Event. This was cache #116 out of 200 for the day. Today was the day we decided to tackle the Wandering Heroes trail. We made an early start and our progress was fast but not fast enough to complete them all. We did manage to find enough caches for me to clock up my 100th find! There was lots of interesting and artistic caches found today and some good ideas to take home with us. Most of the caches had safe places to pull over in both directions which is a credit to the planning of the cache owners. Thanks kiara001 for contributing to the Wandering Heroes series. TFTC.
Note: We saw one train using the railway line today. It is good to remember that it is an active railway when crossing level crossings and walking near the tracks.

I travelled from Wodonga to Loxton yesterday, and got up early to head from Loxton to Murray Bridge for the Oz Mega. Me and the GeoDog are having a great old time. Things were going great until my phone battery charger decided to cease functioning. I managed to collect a few more caches before I had no more charge remaining. It was then out of luck that a convergence of cachers all appeared at the one I was at. Thankfully I had the GPSr the WH caches were transferred onto. I was then shown how to use the GPS in a crash course. This set me on my way though. 120 caches before the phone went flat and another 96 using the GPSr. 69 in the dark (I never do night caching) A massive 16 hour day, but a whole lot of fun!
Thanks to all the COs for making this series.
Night cache!

On our way to the OZ Mega event in Murray Bridge we decided to attempt a 24 hour challenge and see how many caches we could find, our final count from midnight to midnight on the 13th of April 2014 was 247 caches (not too bad for a couple of grandparents).
After a bit of sleep in the car, we completed the wandering heroes trail the next day, and continued on to the 2014 mega caches .
We discovered that all the preparation we put into this helped make the challenge go smoothly...
plenty of maps, batteries, lights etc. Our only pitfalls were lack of sleep and a lack of loo's along the way
After logging in the many caches we noticed that sadly we missed a few, so we will be back.. DOH
Many thanks to all the cache owners for their creative endeavour to make this trail of honour to fellow cachers.
Sorry for the generic log.... over 600 logs to do.

In Murray Bridge for the SA Oz Mega. Oh how exciting to be here.
Today was our 3rd day to try and complete all the currently published Wandering Heroes Caches. Having completed 247 on our 2 previous days that left us 64 to find today!
Extremely excited to share that we found them all with 0 DNF's. The weather was kinder today without the chilling wind we were actually warm and had to put the car airconditioner on for a little while today.
We started the day heading out of town tooting 3 carloads of cachers starting out on the Arrow event caches then we were sprung on the side of the road by several cars tooting and waving as they went past us with 2 other caching teams pulling up to copy down our travelbug and say g'day during the day.
So a very rewarding day meeting and greeting and completing this series.
Thanks so much to everyone for placing these caches for us to be able to find. [^]

Heading to the Mega Event. . Absolute cracker of a caching day. 63 Loved the countryside and even the mud and the rain seem like fun today! TFTH
#1838 - 13:33; Day three of Sol de lune and LuckyL10n's great big SA Road trip. An early start was in order as we planned to have a big day out on the road between Loxton and Tailem Bend. Our goal for the day was to pick up as many of the WHS along that route as we could. I was looking forward to cracking the 100 caches in a day barrier for the first time and by day's end we had at least doubled that! It was great to grab more than 200 caches for the day, with only one DNF. A great series and we enjoyed the pleasure of the hunt. I will most certainly be back for more on another trip.
My thanks go to the numerous COs for the caches, and especially to all those who help to maintain them

Found with LuckyL10n on our 5 day road trip to SA....ending with the Mega at Murray Bridge for myself. Lots of caches grabbed with only one DNF. All caches were found without issues. A great series of caches that we were pleased to have the chance to grab....will need to come for more on another trip.
Thanks to all the various CO for the series and caches.

Out caching some Wandering Heroes caches with Dr Owl and sushilord. TFTC kiara001
Out with Ismartis and Sushilord on a caching expedition to clean out some of the Wandering Heroes series. A quick find by Owl, following the line of tins.
Two Canadians doing a second run at finding more Heroes! This will be our last run at these caches as soon we head home. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard putting these caches out there. We have enjoyed them. Maybe next trip we will finish them.
