Well thats four out of five on my epic hike and the last one isnt too far away. Im just a little concerned about the way the sun is deserting me at a rapid rate. I hope i make it back to the jalopy before dark.
Cool little spot but we came in from fire access track and the hike up that huge bloody boulder was insane. I'm terrified of heights so as I'm writing this log I am shaking uncontrollably and trying to prep myself for the steep as f#*K decent. Or slide in my case. Thanks for the cache.
I had just completed the Jaara Jaara cache nearby and decided that this was an opportunity too good to pass up. I made the slight descent and quickly needed to reassess how I was going to get there.
I had a drink, took my time to pick a path and off I went. Soon enough I was lucky to be enveloped by this stunning geological feature. I spent a bit of time exploring, amazed by the natural patterns formed in the rock. I soon spotted a cachey looking place and indeed it was where I found this little treasure. With just shy of 3 years of unlove the cache was in excellent condition.
Very soon my name was added to the logbook and it was time to make the journey home.....not before having another look around.
TFTC, this is one spectacular place.

After a freezing cold night spent camping near the Melville caves, we were keen to get up and moving. After a packing up our gear, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast. With a dozen caches on our hit list, it was time to hit the trails and collect some smiley faces. While the sun was shining, we did experience some light drizzle in the afternoon. But for a winters day, we couldn't complain.
This was our first cache for the day. With a bit of planning, we worked out the best approach to this hide. Once at gz, we were rewarded with stunning views. Na'wal made the final scramble to the caches hiding spot. As a bonus, I get to claim 550 days unloved TFTC billywillysillydilly

DAB and I planned a trip up to the area with a few hikes we wanted to do and a few caches too. The night was a cold one with -2deg on the temp gauge when we woke up at the camp site at the Melville Caves. We woke early, keen to get up and moving. After a packing up our gear, we enjoyed a camp cooked breakfast. With a page of caches on our hit list, it was time to get out there and do some walking.
This was our first cache for the day after a DNF. We had done our homework on this one but was surprised there were no attributes on the cache page indicating how long of a hike this one was or anything else. Also parking the geo wheels wasn't easy. We ended up where we had hoped to and set off. The mountain was intimidating to say the least but we surveyed the best way to go and we were spot on with or walking path. Once we got within a small range from the cache, we assessed the safest way to get in. The views were hard to stop looking at, such a nice outlook even on a cold day. DAB guided me down the last few meters and into the cave I went. Cache was found quickly with the hint given. A nice amount of unloved days for DAB
**Thanks to billywillysillydilly for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy**

Such a great spot for a cache, and a fantastic day for it. Found in the company of McLookers and the Tritonz on our way to Wedderburn for the event.
Caching slowly towards Wedderburn this afternoon we managed to find an assortment of easy roadside placements and a handful of more strenuous rock scrambling ones while in the company of Wozzle68 and McLookers. With the sun shining but not too hot we were successful in getting a variety of DT as well as unloved for McLookers to finish the 50 year unloved challenge. We found a logical spot to park and set off from. The heat was starting to effect us but we soldiered on to this amazing cave formation where we were relieved to take shelter from the sun. With the log signed it was off to the next one.
Thanks billywillysillydilly for the amazing adventure.

It was pretty warm but we managed the climb and good co-ords led us to the cache. It has been a while since this cache has been found but the cache and log are in excellent order. Thanks bwsd for bringing us here today, the views are magnificent. Found with The Tritonz and wozzle68.
A spectacular view and a beautiful cave. A superb weekend away from the AFL Grand Final with some good friends from the Ballarat Bushwalking Club.
From the nearby Jaara Jaara cache, I looked out into space [:o]
Well that was where the GPS was indicating this cache was !!
Obviously at a lower elevation than where I was.
I didn't take the direct route
That would have been a bit roly-poly down the steeply sloping granite slabs
After a bit of scrub bashing, and lots of zig-zagging down the hillside, I arrived close to GZ.
Not close 'nuff !!
GZ was still about 10 metres away over a steep drop [:o]
I eventually found a way down there
And I found the cave !!
From where I was sitting, and peering into the darkness, I could even see the cache
I thought about scrambling across the ledge, then thought better of it.
If I slid down the slab I would have become wedged
Not a pretty look !!
From this side, the approach from t'other side did not look any better [:o]
But hey !! Let's scramble around there an have a look.
The short scramble took a few minutes while I avoided rolling down another steep slab of rock
But when I peered into the cave from this side, I could see it was quite an easy scramble
So with cache in paw I was signing the logbook, when ..... of course .... I dropped it [:o]
I had been avoiding the scrambling in there !!
Now I had to slide down the chute to retrieve the logbook
I got away with it unscathed
TFTC and of course the fun of getting here, the views, the troglodyte experience
Nice spot

Out for the afternoon with megs_q, found a few caches and enjoyed the company and the walk until I took a tumble off a granite tor near the summit of Mt Kooyoora. The 'walk' back to the car was slow and at times painful. Luckily nothing broken.
Many thanks billywillysillydilly for placing this cache .

Find #757 @ 1810
Found with Mr Tyred n Cranky and Geo Dog Penny
Left for the caves after work to grab both Kooyoora Cave and Jaara Jaara. After finding the right road to get us close to this cache, this put us a little over 700m away. After a long walk, that felt that we were heading directly UP to the clouds, we were at GZ and it took a little time to find the cache, but after reading the hint we had it quite quickly.
Sadly with the sun going down we decided to make it safe and head back down the mountain, leaving the next cache Jaara Jaara for another night. The worst part, I'm not looking forward to that walk again. [xx(]
Took Grenade "water pistol"
Left Yowie Figure
TFTC billywillysillydilly and thanks for another spot of exercise with great views of the world. Also this is getting a Fave

Find No.459. Found with FUF009 at 6.10pm
Left for the caves after work, with Penny our dog and FUF009. Mrs Tyred n Cranky had Squash duties so couldn't come on this trip. Our plans were to grab Kooyoora Cave and Jaara Jaara.
Under the guidance of FUF009 we parked within 700m of it, then our adventure started - onward and upward we went, successfully arriving at the hide and quickly having it in our hands. Unfortunately our plans of getting Jaara Jaara were cancelled as we chose to be cautious and descend the mountain while we still had some light. This was a wise decision as we reached the vehicle after dark.
We enjoyed this adventure and appreciated the cache hide TFTC billywillysillydilly. We enjoy a real challenge and this was one. This was also good for FUF009's waistline.
Took Lisa Simpson figure. Left blue 'My Pony' toy.

found a track that took us within 300mtrs of cache, from there we climbed up what i think was probably the steepest part of the mt. We found the cache checked out the view and then headed towards jaara jaara.
A big weekend away up north west was had which took in just over 100 caches, including 4 First to Finds, about 1000 days towards the Unloved Cache Challenge (GC3KWWQ) and some really fun adventures both solo and with new and old friends. Topped off with a great well attended event cache at Wedderburn.. (with yummy food too) Thanks to all the various cache owners along the way and my apologies upfront for the copy / paste style logging of those 100 odd caches.. Some of the Caches hadn't been found for between 6months and 18months which added greatly to my 15 years required for GC3KWWQ.. Thanks..
Many of the caches were a blur and thus there isn't too much I can add from an individual cache log point of view, my apologies to the cache owners who each have put a lot of effort into their respective hides..
However these bunch of caches didn't fit into the blur category.. I'd sourced these out as prime unloved suspects, I love getting out for walk, dont get me wrong, I also love drivebys, however.. really.. this is what caching is all about, at least its how I explain caching to muggles.. "Its about finding a spot you love, then placing a cache to share the location with others".. Awsome view, and an opportunity to test out my knee with a good 50minute hill run.. I've spent alot of time orienteering in this park, I wouldn't say I know it well, however I can say I knew what to expect.. Thanks Billy for the cache.. See photo of another Billy in my Jarra Jarra log..

Good co-ords took us straight to this very unusual cave and its contents. This was a welcome relief after our aborted attempt at the Jarra Jarra cache. We were beginning to think we had lost our touch this being our second attempt at the top of the hill, so we signed the log but made no swaps as we were travelling light on our Thursday morning Geocaching walk.
Thanks Bill for bringing us to such a beautiful part of the Park. Found in the company of Dave of DaveBarb.

Found by Max while Roma manned the communications equipment back in our vehicle!
The last time we ventured onto the nearby Mount back in December 2004 on a similar mission, Roma was not long out of hospital after having a hip replacement operation, she then didn't make it to the top and again today, now with two hip prosthesis, her rock hopping days has been pretty much curtailed!
Thank you again Bill for accurate co-ordinates, which are so important when searching in this environment where there are so many possible hiding places.
Another well hidden container with a superb view of the surrounding countryside.
Regards,
from Romax.
