Took the tram up to Surfers today and started the stroll just before lunch. Had to double back after realising too late that we needed to more thoroughly search each stage waypoint for the required info! After gathering all but one piece of required info the checksum helped us with a likely number for the last item and we were able to calculate some realistic coordinates. A short walk (with a stop to play on the 'beach') and we had the cache in hand. Thanks for the walk through the history of the area!
A challenging multi, made more difficult due to more questions than waypoints and some redevelopment of the Surfers beachfront features have probably changed since it was established 13 years ago. By a series of calculations and eliminations, the co-ordinates were calculated and off to GZ for a quick find. Thanks for maintaining this challenging multi.
After a few days of caching at Lake Somerset, were now staying on the Gold Coast for a couple of nights before we leave the sunshine behind and head home to Melbourne. Were staying in a rundown apartment, but the proximity to the foreshore is fantastic. Once it cooled down, we took a stroll along the beach to work on this Multi. We started off slowly, needing to double back, then triple back, to gather all the information. We took lots of photos, and later, while relaxing in our air-conditioned apartment with a glass of wine, we tried calculating GZ.Im not sure if some of the information has changed since publication, but our figures didnt match the checksum. Since we were leaving the next day, I sent what we had to the CO, who responded immediately. We were closeso close that it wouldnt have mattered much.Bright and early the next day, we set out to beat the crowds, expecting a long search. To our surprise, we found the cache at the very first spot we searched. The coordinates were spot on. With the COs permission, we replaced the full log. Thanks Gur for the stroll down memory lane.
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. Our last full day on the Gold Coast, today we tackled caches right down the coastal area, from The Spit in the North down to Coolangatta/Tweed Heads in the South. The weather today was prime for caching, with clear skies and lovely temperatures in the low twenties.Managed to work out most of the numbers and deduce the rest with some trial and error. Had to get down real low to spot the little container, log is full but managed to squeeze in near old entries. Thanks for the cache
In town for a couple of days for an academic conference... I picked up all my numbers along as a walked along this stretch a couple of days ago - A couple of times I had walked onto the next before realising that the next question was at also at the previous wp. Would be more helpful if it was a little more specific which Qs lined up with which WP. Nevertheless I persisted, and took my numbers with me. During some downtime at said conference I put all the bits together, and it was clear that something had gone awry. Nothing a recent finder was one of my few PAFs I sent through my calcs to see if he could set me straight. He couldn't be specific, but gave me enough general info for me to be much less wet at the final. Fast forward a day or 2 and I was headed nearby for a meal with muggles, so I detoured to my new determined GZ on the way, where a short search ensued before I turned up the goods. Thanks for a fun multi and historical tournof these parts GurTheWanderer
This was a satisfying multi, what with the exploration of the coasts history alongside a bunch of people watching of locals and holiday makers as the morning progressed and the boulevards got busier. There were a couple of spots along the way that took a little nutting out, indeed, when we tried to figure out the final Coordinates it was apparent that we had made a mess of things somewhere along the way. Eventually, though, we got the hassles sorted out and got a much more likely ground zero leading to a happy moment finding the stash. My thanks go to the cache owner gur the wanderer for setting this one up. Good fun, cheers.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --
I went for an earlynmorningnstroll down memory lane the other day with GazaC, and we collected all the information we thought we needed to calculate where this cache might lie. Something went wrong with our investigations, however, because the coords we came up with would have meant we were looking for a T5 cache, and we knew we weren't. We revisited the waypoints today, and while we still had difficulties with a couple of the questions (mostly f and g), we were able to come up with some plausible coords for GZ this time around. So, we headed there to check it out and, somewhat to my surprise, found the cache without any problems. Thanks for fun multi Gur. I really enjoyed this stroll down memory lane ... I could relate to much of what I saw! So, it gets anfave point from me with thanks.
Enjoying a scooter ride around the area. Missing c and f waypoints. Tried a guess and no luck. Reached out to CO. All good now. Found and signed. Log full. On a caching holiday from Mackay. In the search of old caches and ones to fill DT grid spaces. Found TFTC SL Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
On holidays with Alphag_25 from Mackay. Taking in some of the sights and grabbing caches along the way. Parking is fun in this area so time to get the scooters out. Thanks to the CO for some assistance, couple of numbers and couple hundred metres out.
Collected the clues a week earlier, when there were works on deck. The area was open today, so I came over for a quick find and sign. The log will need replacement as its nearly full.
Did all the stops last night and finally got to the cache but forgot the pen:( went there the next day and now theres construction where the cache is lol couldnt sign but tftc!

A week on the Goldie, and time for me to take another for this ne long on my 'solved' list - bang on today, and no idea why I couldn't find it last time. All good.
Thanks GurTheWanderer for entertaining me at this location.

Apologies for the late log here (12.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.No luck with this - I ended up with the cache about 4km out to sea and that seemed unlikely for a T1.5 cache. Not sure what went wrong but thanks anyway; a lovely stroll indeed.SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
Thankfully I was with some other cachers otherwise I may not have been able to complete this cache as too many things have changed. However, great to get it and beautiful walk. TFTC
Have started this multi on two previous family visits and not having much progress both times we thought that there was something fundamentally wrong in the way we approached the start. Turns out that the start has been missing back then so it was good to see the log description had been updated since by providing the answer in the description. So maybe we were not going mad afterall.
Third time 'lucky' with two other Cachers we completed a sanity check with each other particularly when waypoint data was 'missing'. We continued to be challenged on other points but this time picked up all data, revisited three waypoints twice, before messaging the CO. The CO was very responsive and helpful which was wonderful.
We leave the Gold Coast today having finally signed the log. This cache needs to be reviewed given the issues encountered due to changes that have occurred on the seaside walk over the years. Regardless this is a great multi as it forces you to read all the information boards and learn a little about the local history. TFTC GurTheWanderer.

A tricky multi here that we completed with (much appreciated) assistance for the trickier bits from the CO.
Thanks, GurTheWanderer!
Thanks, GurTheWanderer!
I noted the DT combo on this one and it became a must do before I headed home, it will be one step closer to my sixth loop. My partner and I went out for a walk along the waterfront and gathered the details. We did it in reverse order and eventually had all the info required. All the numbers matched the checksum but the final was out in the ocean. This meant only 1 thing, I had two answers wrong, not one. A digit on both the S and E were most likely and we pieced together a possibility. A message was sent to the CO and we then rolled the dice by looking at location that was a complete guess. A response then arrived from the CO. I walked another 20 metres and the cache was found.
The container is well hidden, is in a good spot, and the logsheet is in good order. I was lucky I had an accomplice as it meant I didnt stand out and could retrieve sign and return without much issue.
Thanks for the multicache GurTheWanderer, it was a good one, much appreciated. I like learning things as you work your way through an informative MC. I also appreciate the order and placement, something you can expect from experienced cachers.

Took a minute to find as my coordinates were slightly off. Found with help of cache owner. Great day to walk along the beach and learn some history! This is also my first multi completed alone! TFTC!
I have no idea how long ago I started this one. It was a while. I struggled with the answers at some points. I have maybe even visited GZ before, but decided it was too busy.
Nice and quiet today for an easy find thanks.
Nice and quiet today for an easy find thanks.
Visited all the stops back in July with Gastank2 but no luck with the final find on that trip. We didn’t give up and were rewarded with the find this time. Thanks for the cache.
Truckgirl2 and I have solved this one on a prior visit but we were too tired to make the final stop. Today I was back in town and I needed some motivation to get some exercise to get over the jet lag. Finding this one was the perfect motivation. A nice mile walk from the hotel.

I haven’t been to the Gold Coast for some years, so decided to visit an old friend and do some geocaching including this one. This was an enjoyable multi and quick find at gz. Wasn’t sure about a couple of numbers but worked them out with the checksum. Fp. Tftc
I was staying in the Gold Coast with my sister, brother and their spouses. My sister was attending a conference so while she was at her conference today I headed north up the coast. The weather was perfect compared to my home state of Minnesota US where we have lots of snow and freezing temperatures.
Spent the day walking up the beach finding the different waypoints. Of course I had to get one wrong and then did the math wrong so I thought I was right. Went to my GZ and couldn't find anything. Ended up walking back to find the last couple of answers again and saw were I went wrong. Returned to the correct GZ which was really close to my wrong GZ. After looking for awhile I finally gave up on my GPS and started looking were I would have put it and there it was. After all the time put into this I was really glad to sign the log. Turns out 2 wrongs don't make a right, it's still wrong.

Goldy is off to Gold Coast, with my friend Jimmy along for the ride on a half caching and half tourist attraction trip.
It was good to meet so many locals at our event at the Surf Life Saving Club. Truly awesome to witness the culture, traditions and vibe of a new set of people. You guys were awesome to be around!
I reached 2500 cache finds while on the trip, which was an added bonus.
The humidity though really got to me, Adelaide is freezing so I was not prepared.
A big shoutout to SaintsMadHouse who took us around a nice cache tour of the area to see some highly favourited caches as we were without a car. Love the effort Kez put in for us.
Jimmy and Goldy went separate ways today, Jimmy to Seaworld and Goldy out caching!
I took an Uber to an EarthCache I was eyeing off and walked on foot from there back to our accommodation.
I had made my way through all the stages over several trips as it was quite busy along here at certain times.
A quick find at GZ. All is well here.
Thanks GurTheWanderer for this multi cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2517 on the 19th of February 2023.
**South Australia is hosting a Mega! February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide. Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward**

GurTheWanderer Thanks for the cache and yellow dandelion.
Second day in Australia. Yesterday it was cloudy here, but today the sun is burning like hell. Since we got another 10 cm of snow at home yesterday, it's better for us here .
As a big attraction, I had marked Bravo Hotel and I was very curious about its condition, because in Europe old caches often suffer from little interest from the owner, who stopped being interested in GC .
Well, that's not the case here. The box is new in perfect condition and the LB is ready for lots of hunter visits. But what's a bonus about these old boxes is that the owners placed them in perfect places that they loved and wanted to share with others. And here it is anyway. Rain forest, lots of birds, sounds, lizards and all kinds of crawling creatures that I don't even know what to name. We had a great time here.
Then we moved a little further because we need some Australian letterbox for the statistics. If I had known where he really was and where I would have to go, I probably wouldn't have gone to get him. In sandals in the local forest, with information from all good friends about poisonous snakes and spiders . But a letterbox is a letterbox, right ....
And then we went to Steampunk for a steak. They didn't get the steak the first time so we had 2 bloody marys with oysters and that was SOMETHING! Well, and then this cache.
We walked the route a few times. First we struggled terribly with English, then with the listing and finally with the invention of the owner. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Peppa's helping hand, we wouldn't have caught this cache. Which we would be terribly sorry for, because we really enjoyed it. Joodie and I walked back along the sea and had a great time until a big wave came and chilled us . Anyway, we're pulling out FitiPaldi ️️️ and thank you very much to Peppa .

Užili jsme si to tady.
Pak jsme se přemístili o kus dál, protože do statistik potřebujeme nějaký australský letterbox. Kdybych věděl, kde doopravdy je a kudy budu muset jít, asi bych pro něj nešel. V sandálech v místním lesíku, s informacemi od všech dobrých kamarádů o jedovatých hadech a pavoucích . Ale letterbox je letterbox, že jo ....
No a pak jsme se vydali do Steampunku na steak. Steak se jim napoprvé nepovedl, takže jsme měli 2x bloody mary s ústřicí a to bylo NĚCO! No a pak tato keš.
Prošli jsme si párkrát trasu. Napřed jsme děsně bojovali s angličtinou, pak s listingem a nakonec s invencí ownera. Upřímně říkám, že nebýt napomocné ruky Peppy, tuto keš bychom neodlovili. Což by nás děsně mrzelo, protože nás fakt bavila. Zpátky jsme s joodie šli podél moře a děsně si to užívali, dokud nepřišla velká vlna a nezchladila nás . Každopádně vytahujeme FitiPaldi ️️️ a moc děkujeme Peppovi .

Started this in the afternoon and finally finished at night in the rain. Man was this a tricky hide, searched and searched before resorting to a PAF. It truly earns the D5. Greeting from Geelong, thanks for the tour.
After an early event and a coffee, we came for a stroll along the beachfront. Thanks GurTheWanderer and happy caching
After attending the event a bit further down the beach we came for a stroll to find this multi. Nice and early was the perfect time to find this one with not many people about, must be all sleeping of a big New Year’s Eve. Tftc GurTheWanderer
A great Multi strolling along the esplanade!

Finally I can log this after 4 visits. The first was clue hunting and that went well with CO confirming one point for me. Then GZ... searched many spots on my DNF. But today it jumped out at me. I was looking for something different initially .
Great cache and I loved the history here as I have visited many times through my life and recall some of these things.
Fav point from me.
Thanks to GurTheWanderer for the fun and the adventure.

A quick getaway to QLD with my youngest geokid for some warmer weather and took the opportunity to grab a few caches.
This cache was the better of me today after a good search. Clearly I am not tuned on this hide as others seem to get it quickly. But that's caching and I will be back.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 17 – Time to start heading home after farewells with the family. Headed to Mermaid beach today collection caches and labs along our journey as well as now playing another game.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned.
No issues with this one today, collected the final under the cover of darkness.
Thanks for the hide GurTheWanderer and keeping this hobby alive.

I'm down at the Goldy for a week holiday. It's beautiful this time of year. I saw this multi and thought it might be a bit too difficult....then I had a closer look and thought I'll give it a crack on the bike. Glad I did because there was lots of back and forth for me. I had a little trouble with my maths working out how 7 waypoints led to 10 data points. Once I got that sorted I was almost there. One of the clues was under construction or renovation, but I was able to work it out with th checksum.
At a likely GZ I decided to do a CITO for cover...funny how people don't care or give you any attention if you're picking up rubbish! I tried a few areas, found some bottles, wrappers, coffee cups and an old umbrella! Decided I better check my calculy with the CO as I wasn't turning anything up. The CO responded (thank you!) Before I left ...I was going to I come back tomorrow. With the finals confirmed and a nudge for where to look I had it in no time.
A great little multi looking at the history of the Goldy. Thanks Gur for maintaining.

Patrol14 and I are on the Fabulous Gold Coast with a list of target caches to satisfy some crazy Challenges on the Northside of Brisbane…
This multi has a very unique D/T that enables me to finish a Bingo Challenge… having a previous finder with me made the process smooth and painless… Although there was plenty of bare skin to distract me I managed to reach GZ where a cache was soon in hand…
Tftc… a good way to highlight this iconic stretch of beach…

This was a multi night multi for me and required some calculation corrections from the CO to get me there. At GZ I tried to make this more difficult than it needed to be before a previous log made me rethink my approach and the clue suddenly made sense. So in the end I needed quite a bit of help to get here but eventually added my name to the log. Thanks for the cache GurTheWanderer.
Caching on the Gold Coast today.
Picking up a lab cache and a few others just for fun.
Brought the bike and rode from WP to WP
In the end I was a couple of digits short.
A PAF and I could make my way to the final.
Great to do a multi here
Thank you

Couldn't find this one, despite a really good look around. I solved the clues ages ago, then noted the offset and was walking past so thought I'd take a look. Nothing made a lot of sense to the hint ... so now I'm wondering if I've appleid the offset to the offset or possibly the numbers changed somehow? Or ... well I didn't find it at the spot I was at anyway.
We actually did the waypoints for this a couple of years ago but didn’t quite have one answer right. At the time I confirmed the detail with the previous owner but that was after we’d returned home. So today when we finally made it back to surfers paradise, we had a definite plan to collect the final. It was crazy busy at GZ and we were totally stumped as to where the beasty was hiding until I read through the description again and realised it had been moved. So with the adjusted coords we made our way over for a quick find. Yay! We were faced with one last challenge of getting the log sheet out but with a little patience and engineering we succeeded. Very glad to have finally completed this multi! Thanks for the interesting waypoints here - you learn something new every day ️.
I have worked this one out just over 2 years ago and have had a few looks since. I thought it should be there but only having a quick feel for something else. I thought the clue was pointing to another area and my phone was pointing to an area in between. Today I thought I was to look in the pandanus and had a quick look at where it was hidden.
Sent a message to the current owner, thinking maybe I had the wrong co-ords. Got a quick response that I was right. Had another look and the only part that I did not look at previously today I had the hide looking back at me. So I signed the cache and sent a thanks to the owner away I went with a smile on my dial and map.
This would have been a good one to find if I was trying to climb a peak, as it has a few points connected to it.
Thanks Gur for maintaining this one and the quick response

Green Geckos, Muggle65 and I were on a D/T hunt for a challenge cache. I had 15 caches on the list. In the end I found 11 for the day. The breakdown was 8 multi, earthcache, traditional and a mystery. I left in the dark and got home in the dark.
The TOTT’s we needed today were kayaks a ladder and torches. Yes a mine was enter. A few steep hills climb.
Lot of laughing was had, some stories were told.
Now this the 7 multi for today. We found a parking spot pass the start point. Of we go gathering information, we fell short on some information, I ask for some help to get our finals right. Found cache and sign the log.

What a busy place! Bris&I were lucky to find a car park not too far from the Starting Point & almost forgot we had to pay for parking . Trying to determine which questions were for which waypoints as we moved from WP2 through 6 questions didn’t coordinate so we ended up back & forth dodging e-scooters & bikes & people setting up the markets. We were confused on 1 or 2 questions which had potential to stuff our GZ. And to get a clarification we had a PAF intervention that refocused our calculations & undertaking a drive by drop off & retrieval (parking ,what parking. I have it on good authority the log was signed& returned without Muggle intervention.
Muggle65, Brislions and l are on a multi quest today. We decided to try for this one but l wasn't holding my breath given the difficulty rating. We were a bit confused from time to time but eventually came up with a couple of possibilities for GZ. One was definitely better so we had a go and names were soon added to a small log. Thank you for a fun stroll through the markets
This cache was a long time in the making. I calculated everything way back in September 2019 but at the time GZ was fenced off so I couldn't make the find. Today was a different story. The cache was quickly located, retrieved and replaced now with my name on it. I recall finding all of the waypoints enjoyable and informative. Thanks GurTheWanderer for maintaining this cache. A FP has been awarded.
The family came up to the Brisbane/Gold Coast for a full week. Geowife hunted down some caches she knew I would like....and some random ones added in for fun.
So, a light sprinkling of oldies and virtuals were had...find 2 a day is certainly a far sight from my regular caching trips were its 50-100.

After collecting the variuos bits of information over time it was the day to get to GZ and make a find. Took a short search but finally spotted it. Thanks Gur.
Out and about caching today from Brisbane. When we had all the information we moved onto GZ, where we located the cache and signed the log. TFTC GurTheWanderer
In the Gold Coast for a family holiday. Nice multi showing lots of old history....coords worked out and a relatively quick find once at GZ
Have waited for the last 4 days of torre till rain to get this one. Found after a check and change of my answers with the CO. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the log out. Have photo for owner if they want.
Thanks for giving us a walk along the esplanade.
Thanks for giving us a walk along the esplanade.
An Easter long weekend means a roadtrip! Lockdown 3 ended in Melbourne last month so we had an opportunity to head north on a one-week journey to the Gold Coast. Clearly that one week was not a great estimate - we had to deal with NSW floods, Byron Bay lockdowns, and Queensland lockdowns. The rerouting meant Pacgirl had to fly home from Coolangatta and I kept heading north to the Dayboro Mega and then the Sunshine Coast. This became a caching trip where I targeted lab caches and earthcaches. After 6,500km and more than 3 weeks I finally got back home with approval from the Victorian government. Ultimately this trip didn't go as planned - it ended up being much, much better !
***
Day 8 and after a few days at the Gold Coast I dropped Pacgirl off at the airport this morning. Now it's time for some serious caching as I make my way north from Coolangatta to the Dayboro Mega! Another stop at Surfer's Paradise gave me an opportunity to get some more smilies along this strip.
In gentle rain I strolled up and down collecting the required information covering the history of this iconic coastline. Three hours later I'm finally at GZ, looking and looking... I rechecked my calculations several times and got confirmation from the CO. Still no joy finding the container . Perhaps I'll try again on my back south in a few days.
Thanks anyway, GurTheWanderer.

Out today to grab a few target caches and collect 12 specific cache types in a day. With plans set during the week and a list made, today was to see if our plans worked out. It was an early start, I picked up Nayfee and Willis007 for today’s entertainment which started at Currumbin and then worked our way to Dayboro.
We had worked our way to the surf side and found this multi to do. I dropped the guys off while I went to park, only to get a ticket while I was paying for my space, doh. After confronting the officer I got let off, phew.
With the information obtained we headed back up to grab the final. Funny thing one of the surf life savers came and asked what we were doing. We explained and then he said they grabbed one nearby themselves and placed it in the tower, but that was about 10 years ago. We found the cache, signed our names replaced as found and went on to the next one on the list.
Thanks for placing this one here, all good with this series, just a little confusion at a couple of the waypoints but we got there in the end.

Out with Chamad and Willis007 for a spot of caching to grab our 12 different cache types for the day.
We arrived at Surfers Paradise to grab this cache, it took us sometime to complete as their was several waypoints, but after a good walk we had everything we needed than we made our way to GZ and found the cache after a few minutes.

Out and about with Chamad and NayFee today collecting some target caches.
We came across this one and had some confusion around collecting multiple clues from the some waypoints. Anyway it worked out and in the end we had the numbers we needed.
At gz we struggled and bit, a lifeguard asked what we were looking for. He had heard of geocaching and told us some of the boys stole one about 10 yeas ago and hid it under the chair in their tower.
Anyway, back to our cache finding. NayFee eventually made the find, sneaky little critter.
Thanks GurTheWanderer for a challenging multi and cache.

Travelled up from Canberra for three reasons: 1. Be in Brisbane for my daughter's 21st (yesterday). Well, that didn't happen due to lockdown!! 2. Get to the Mega - could still happen. 3. Pick up cool caches along the way. Tick, including this one.
I collected the info, made a few calculations about some of the options (it is a D5 after all). Headed to GZ this morning, but looked in the wrong spot. Confirmed coords were correct with CO (thanks for the quick response). Went back, then thought about container size and what's around me. I went straight to it. Doh. Worth spending a moment before diving to the first thing you see. A great cache with interesting info. A fave. TFTC and looking after it GTW

Sweet. After a hint from co, I managed to get this one. I just checked this spot, couldn’t see it and then went to get photo. When I came back, it was them. Hmmm another cacher in the area maybe
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, jesswrigley and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, it was our final leg to Brisbane. It was raining cats and dogs, however there were patches of dry weather, so we decided to make a stop at Surfers Paradise initially to have a walk along the beach promenade. We also took the opportunity to make a stop at Logan to find Queensland's first geocache, and subsequently had a nice walk in Karawatha Forest.
Wow, a five star difficulty multi-cache? This had us interested, and it didn't appear to be too difficult upon first glance. I hadn't prepared in finding this cache today, but at least visit a few of the waypoints. We spent a little time at Stage 1 looking for the answer to **a**, only to then read/find that the sign had been missing, and provided already in the question. We continued to walk along, and then realised that at most waypoints, there were signs back and front of each shelter (so missing the sign represented at **c**). With no warnings of the change to weather to rain once again, we ended up proceeding through all applicable signs relating to this multi-cache, but the checksum didn't exactly match. We attempted one location, and looked all over, but alas, no cache.
I tried to reach out to a previous finder to check coordinates and understand where we may have went wrong. As we were waiting for a reply, we ended up driving to and checking another location, and after searching around there thoroughly, we eventually made a find there! As it turns out, we had misinterpreted the question to **e**, thinking we needed to ignore those runners to that side of the main man's RHS. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We quite enjoyed our walk along the promenade and studying the signage, and our only feedback was some more direction to which questions belonged to which waypoint (it was easy enough in the end, but a little confusing initially). Thanks GurTheWanderer for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Down the coast to find a few caches and see how much the place has changed since living here.
Wow, it was a bit too hot to be doing this one in the middle of the day, but oh well you only live once, so on goes the sunscreen hat and sunnies, let's go for a walk!
Answers duly gathered and lucky for me there were people near GZ, but they were busy watching the beach not me. Quick grab, all good here!
This place has lot of memories for me, from the waterslide and arcade that used to be across the road form the beach on Cavill Av in the 80s, to watching bands at Billys beachhouse in the 90s and working as an apprentice (and later qualified) chef in the hotels like Ramada, GC International and Watermark. We used to avoid the tourist traps like the plague, the locals alays know the good spots to hang out!!

I guess I should start with Happy New Year and good riddence to whatever you call the one we just left behind...
Staying down the coast for a couple of days with Mrs Gunnie, I was up and at 'em early this morning and keen for a walk to enter 2021 with positivity. While Mrs Gunnie continued to rest, I set off in search of this cache, in the hope GZ would be quiet... Hmm, that bit didn't go to plan...
I had gleaned the clues for GZ over many year, starting back when the cache was only a couple of months old. Yeah I know, I'm a bit slow sometimes. With a calculated GZ now in the cache listing, it was time to have a crack and I immersed myself among the 'beautiful people' who call the GC home, and arrived at what looked like a promising spot. I paused for a few seconds, then positioned myself for a good scan of the area, at which time I quickly spotted the container. Ah, now that's exactly what I wanted. [^]
Out it came and I swiftly added my name to the log, before returning as found. Very pleased with this one as a smiley, it offers a rare D/T for a multi that many will need to satisfy a challange on the North side of Brisbane. I still need one more D/T combo to qualify though, so that was next on my list.
Cheers to Kev's Team, E and GurTheWanderer for keeping this cache going. It's a good'en.

Finally I can log a find on this one. Had a DNF here in Dec 2015, then adopted it. Forgot to log a find first, silly me. That's what one does being a newbie.
Too much to learn in this game. Too many good memories from playing.
Thanks for adopting this and keeping it going.
Definitely a FP awarded!

Finally catching up on doing some logging I was spending a few days on the Gold Coast with IolantheK and we found a few caches while also enjoying a relaxing break.
We collected the information from the way points for this cache the previous afternoon but only managed to find 8 out of the10 we needed. Despite spending the evening trying to work out the co-ords, we were having no luck so eventually messaged the cache owner who gave us the missing information we needed. We made this our first stop for today, but initially started looking in the wrong place. After resorting to checking the hint, we adjusted where we were searching to make a quick find of not 1, but 2 containers With our names added to the log, we continued on our way for a day of fun caching
Thank you E_Smiley for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

I am down on the Gold Coast for a few days with Just a Trifle and today we went to Southport to collect a few caches.
We were here yesterday afternoon collecting the WPs and manged to secure 8 out of 10. A plea for help was sent to the CO and she gave us what we needed. Today this was our first stop and after checking elsewhere we had a look at the hint and made our way to the right spot. A quick find, but oddly we found 2 containers! Signed up and headed off. TFTC, Kevs_Team / E_Smiley.

Had most of the information for this one for a while except the first waypoint which has been removed and the last one we hadn't got to. We subsequently misplaced the answers and returned today and collected all except no. 1 again. We weren't sure of a couple that could have had two different answers and without the first answer we needed to do some logical analysis of what we had and the final co-ords. We quickly solved the value for the first letter and then there was only one combination of the other two that would give us the checksum.
Off to GZ and confirmed co-ords with CO so we knew our logic was sound. Zeroed in on a likely spot and unlike many of the previous logs, we were totally muggle free and made a quick find. We love the old photos and reminders of simpler times. We both visited the GC from Sydney in 1966 and 1968 so many of those photos brought back our own memories.
Thanks for adopting this cache E_Smiley and a fave point from us.

Tonight I decided to venture away from the family and go for a wander along Surfers Paradise. I had noticed the Virtual Cache and the large Multi along here and wanted to give them both a crack. It was very busy down here this evening, I was unaware of the markets occurring tonight lol. So with printed copies of the Virtual and the Multi, it was off I went. Had to park almost 3km away from the start of the multi and virtual, but these things happen.
Wow, just wow... This multi sure has alot of work involved! I will admit, I had issues with WP1 and the temperature reference so I moved onto the other WP's and gathered all the other clues. I messed something up along the way and the calculated GZ did not look right so I shot a message off to the CO who was awesome and responded almost immediately! Thankyou SOOO much in highlighting my errors and getting me back on track and so quickly! For an out of towner, this kind of response from the CO is muchly appreciated, especially when you have spent so much time wandering up and down and dodging scooters and market muggles collecting the clues. So off to the correct GZ I go and commence my search, stealth is hard here, but I got it done, signed and replaced without drawing any attention to my actions.
Thanks for the multi, history lesson, cache placement and quick response to my message E_Smiley !!! and thanks also to Kevs_Team as co owner Fav point added to this one also.

I firstly misunderstood what was needed. Looking for a cache to give the next co-ords before I noticed the waypoints. Contacted the CO. Felt silly having done so.
Because of the sleuthing required I used my bike and Todd up and down 3 times. Still couldn’t locate the temp reference, so worked out the final point by deduction.
A big sigh of relief when I found the final cache. Signed and tried replacing with lots of muggles about.

This has to be one of my favourite caching memories! The location is fabulous, and the girls and I decided to hire some electric trikes to zoom up and down the foreshore while collecting clues, appreciating the views and judging the skimpy bikinis. Well, maybe not the latter .
The electric scooters were fabulous, so much faster than I ever imagined, and then girls were grinning from ear to ear.... right up until when geokid #1's trike tire exploded. It sounded like a gun going off. Que tears, frightened faces, and a distinct lack of confidence. We limped back to the rental place, and exchanged trikes. Confidence restored, we collected the rest of the clues, and then picked up the final. Wahoo Awesome!

Did this multi long time ago. It was fun but keep getting the final wrong. With help from owner, we finally found it happy to see a smiley thank you e smiley
After having to leave another multi due to muggles in the area we moved on to this one. A bit of a hike from the nearest carpark and we were just narrowing in on GZ when we heard a "crunch" behind us. Someone not paying attention rear ended another car...oops. Diversion created...no one was paying attention to us! TFTC Kevs_Team & E(: for maintaining.
After having a miss at the previous multi because of muggles we decided to head to this one instead. I gathered the needed numbers last night on a walk through the area. Today it was a little trickier getting a car park and the area was busy but we managed to retrieve and sign before moving on. TFTC E:)
Finally I can log a find here as I have taken forever to complete the Trip. I found the clues when I was doing some Trainings down the Coast then I didn't have the time to walk to the final. Very interesting the tales of yesteryear which I can relate to as it was around my Era. Next time I was down that way the cache was missing so today I am able to log a find. TFTC
Did this splendid multi cache today. The weather was perfect along the esplanade. Blue skies and a cool breeze. The best conditions I've experienced in Australia so far. It was not without its problems as I couldn't find point A, I think it's cordoned off for work. At this point I knew that I would rely on working backwards from the check sum and that I had to get all of the rest right. I had another problem with one more question but, after the final stage I found I could get the final coordinates with confidence anyway. I then searched the place I thought the cache should be but didn't find it. I contacted the CO to verify coordinates and got confirmation and permission to log. Thanks a lot for that and for all the other good caches that you've laid down for us down here. Tftc and UTV
Unfortunately even with a little help from a friend cache appears to have gone missing
Oh well even though raining as we collected required info we enjoyed the walk
We will return

Logging with owners permission. Really enjoyed walking the area today with The X-Trailers.
Weather was iffy but we managed not to get too wet. A fav point today. Would probably have walked straight by the tourist highlights of area if not for caching. TFTC

We ducked we weaved and we sheltered today due to rain .What a great area to gather the information required and short walk to find cache afterwards. Found a few numbers hard to crunch .Logging with co's permission

Had a crack at this one... but missed a couple of answers. Took a couple of guesses but the result didn't look very promising... it will have to wait for another holiday up here now!
Got the corrected coords from CO last year and finallu made it bàck up this way but couldnt find cache. Oh well will habe to come back again
Headed to this one with reezielou early yesterday morning. The hard work was done then as we wandered up and down the esplanade learning about surfers paradise history. Once we’d visited all the waypoints, we sat in the shade to put together what we had. Took a few goes but we soon had a good looking set of numbers so off we went to GZ. Unfortunately there was a homeless guy setting up camp right at GZ so we were unable to search where we thought it could be and had to tap out. Reached out to a previous finder to confirm we had the right GZ and back we went early this morning, hopeful that old mate had moved on. He hadn’t....but his camp was now quite enclosed and we able to search without being seen. A quick find, right where we thought it would be after yesterday’s recon. Thanks for a great cache E!
Headed off to this one yesterday with krcamber, enjoyed walking along gaining information that was needed. Once we had visited all of the waypoints we sat down in a nice shady spot and began to work out the cords. Once we were happy with our numbers we headed to GZ. Unfortunately as we approached we noticed a homeless man setting up and he was less then impressed with us getting close.
We pondered on what to do and decided to attempt again, but had to abort plans when the police were now also at GZ.
Today we made the trip in again with renewed hopes, and thankfully the “home” was more sheltered and krcamber was able to retrieve what we needed.
Thanks for placing and bringing us out for a nice walk admiring the beach.

3 Jan 2020: Streak Day #309/366 (1 March 2019 - 29 February 2020). Came here on Wednesday, Doing the multi, I decided to stop half way as the beachside market is on so I contacted my daughter who is resting at the hotel, about this as knowing that she would love to come. Finished it off here today, my calculations was not matched to the checksum by two. However, I decided to go ahead to find the cache at GZ and guess what I found it quickly - yayyy!!! Thanks E(: for the fun and placing the cache here.
I went for a very early stroll (5:30am) along the beach. It was a pretty sunrise (photo to attached - not GZ sorry). There were so many people around!! Between the council workers, the early risers, the late night goers and the homeless - it was all happening.
I made the stupid mistake of not reading the description before having a go at this one. I have hassled others for doing this, but always seem to be guilty of it myself.
Anyway I was doing a couple of caches in the area too and taking photos which meant my already low battery was dramatically dying. On a time limit now, it wasn’t until I got to WP4 that I realised that the questions didn’t follow the WPs. That’s when I read the description properly and saw the D/T rating and I realised my mistake. Bugger!
But I had started so I kept at it. Obtaining all the information and taking photos as I went. I was so busy looking back through everything trying to work out GZ before the battery died that I passed my turn off back to home. But with no battery and needing my map to make sure I got home ok I had stop trying to work it out.
It wasn’t until I was back up in the apartment and on the charger that I realised just how close I had come to GZ! I sat on the floor playing with the numbers. I was certain of some, but definitely not on a couple of the key ones needed.
Thanks to the check sum, logs and a little logic I got a coord I liked. So when others in the family were awake and we had had some breakfast, we took the geodog for a walk.
I had a pretty good idea where to go so I had put the phone away and walked to the spot I thought. I think my coords may have been off a little, but I forgot to check once I got there.
Thanks to the hint the cache was in the first place I looked. Yay!! That was satisfying! I signed the log and returned it to it’s hiding spot and headed back for a second breakfast. Tftc E_Smiley!!!

Well this turned out to be more difficult than I thought. I'm still not sure about the answers to f through j as I couldn't get my numbers to match the checksum and so those numbers were somewhat guesswork. Resorting to logic and after some quick thinking I was able to come away with the cache in hand. Was a good trip to the beach. TFTC.
Attempted this last night but got confused. Wrote down a few numbers that I thought related to the questions before the phone died and couldn't continue on our way with getting all the numbers required. Maybe next time.
