Why was the traffic if youre picking up. Thanks!

27-Jan-24
No luck with this one today, just a whole lot of rubbish at GZ. We got about halfway through this trail and realised what a good spot it would have been for a CITO, but unfortunately we weren't adequately prepared.

24-Jun-23
Well this was a cracking game of cards...a bit of twisting; a bit of sticking; mostly came up trumps, but I was also dealt a few bad hands.
Many of these logs might be similar, so I will chuck in some interesting(?) facts which I found on the internet...so they must be true Wink
FACT! :
If you play with a ‘traditional’ deck of 52 ‘French’ cards, created from the 16th century onwards, some faces may look familiar.

That’s because some are based on or inspired by famous figures from history.

Peek a little closer and you might just see Julius Caesar as the King of Diamonds, Alexander the Great as the King of Clubs, Greek goddess Pallas Athena as the Queen of Spades, or Lancelot du Lac as the Jack of Clubs. Pretty cool.

Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan

Headed down this way today with the intention of collecting the Pickup 52 trail of caches, and any others along the way....as am in need of some numbers for my goal for the year.....

Thank you to the CO's for cache placement, and bringing me to these locations.

Let the adventure begin......as I was travelling by car and by myself, I didn't attempt all caches in this series due to unsafe car parking/walking.....

TFTC and the series....

Such a fun day caching with SarahB20 and sharing turns to find the hides along this series along a route I'd never traveled before. Tftc

09-Dec-19
Kathykaches and I have been looking at this trail for a while and finally today we managed to complete it. It was a great day of parking and grabbing, running out of petrol, driving to Huntly for a top up of fuel, then back to caching, lots and lots of caches Very Happy We had 5 DNF's for the day, so only managed to find 47 of the 52 on the power trail. Of course we had to find 3 others to make it up to 50, a new record for one day for both of us. Mostly signed as SB20 + KK. Thanks so much for placing all of these caches and maintaining them. Sorry for the copy and paste!

07-Dec-19
Found lid first, and cache a couple seconds later. Wet inside, but one log is signable.

06-Oct-19
The lid was off but surprisingly the cache was dry.we were grateful to the previous finder who looks like replaced a lot of the logs.A different part of the trail thanks for bringing it to our attention with a cache.

29-Sep-19
Day Two of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. An ant nest took over took the logbook. I emptied them out and replaced the logbook.

Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.

Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan for placing this geocache 7725 find for me.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

29-Sep-19
Ants had inhabited the container. The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. Today is a numbers run and for me, time to complete this series that I started in January 2015. TFTC and series. Signed NNES.

***======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

29-Jul-19
On a souvenir hunt for the Mystery at the Museum challenge. Today we wanted to add some good numbers to our tally.
Found -easily- together with Piratenschatzsucher and Greenkiwikids and signed as team Piraten. Tftc

29-Jul-19
Don't expect a long log, we are just kids who like to find big caches with lots of toys in them. And we like earning souvenirs, that's why we're here today. Thanks for giving us this opportunity by hiding and maintaining this nice series. Smile

Easy find. Tftc

19-Jun-19
Have done some of the series before so getting some more

29-Apr-19
Completely water logged I’m afraid.

20-Jan-19
Down from Northland for the weekend along with Lis's Crew and DaffyNZ, with the challenge to get 200+ caches in one day and set some personal records. All logs signed as Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy )

After arriving in Hamilton on Friday evening, we grabbed a few caches and then Saturday was the main event. With some good planning and teamwork, we managed 214 caches for the day.

Today was time to head home, but we had to make the trip really worthwhile and get some more on the way. This trail looked appealing and although it was drizzling at the start of the day, we charged into it anyway, continuing our good teamwork from yesterday. Part way through, the drizzle stopped, the sun came out and it got really hot again.

A few more DNFs on this trail than yesterday, but still a neat series that added good numbers to our weekend tally. Apologies for cut & paste logs, but no time to make notes about the individual caches on the day, especially with the damp conditions. TFTC

20-Jan-19
Out for the weekend with Team Gold (Go 0B80B8, Liz's Crew, DaffyNZ). Thought we would look at this series on our way home. Thanks for the challenge.

20-Jan-19
I'm down from Okaihau in the Far North with 0B80B8 and DaffyNZ on a three day caching mission. We aimed to get the Kiwi puzzles, the NZ series and The Eyes Have It series in one day. Not a feat for the faint hearted geocacher.

We arrived in Hamilton on Friday evening grabbed a few caches and had dinner in the lovely Hamilton gardens. We then set off to grab a few more caches.

On Saturday with careful planning we managed to get a massive 214 caches. We worked really well as Team GOLD and had a great day.

Today we're heading home caching along the way. I started this trail back in 2016 on my way to the Turangi Mega. We had started at the wrong end and today I was keen to finish it off. It was drizzling at the start of the day. The team in the car were on signing duties to protect the logs from damage. Soon the sun was out again making my job much nicer. A previous DNF avenged Smile

Thanks for the series Smile

05-Jan-19
Out with my crew trying to get a few grabs at the end of a beautiful day. Log book was too wet to write and entry. TFTC!

03-Nov-18
I decided on doing as many of this series as I could. Some I had to pass by as I couldn't park. Most were easily found but quite a few had a soggy logbook.

01-Oct-18
846 get some more of the pack of cards

07-Sep-18
Found with NZFlossy

03-Sep-18
Out on a road trip with NZBiscuit collecting this series and catching up as it has been awhile since we have been out caching together. The weather was not the best and I was the runner while NZBiscuit handled the driving like a pro as a lot of the parking was in hard places. We had a lot of fun and thank the CO for the series. Some of the containers are broken and have wet logs while some others are all good. It wasn't the day to do maintenance as everything I touched go very wet. TFTC

22-Jul-18
Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap. Thanks for the cache from Blenheim Bear! Smile
This cache posted with CacheSense for Android.

22-Jul-18
Nice park n grab but very boggy! Tftc

21-Jul-18
We had arranged a special trip towards Hamilton with some friends a few weeks ago it was supose to be 14th July but were unwell so this weekend is the weekend as we are also doing the Hidden creatures adventure 100 caches to be found and logged. So why not start with the 52 pick up we have some a few a while ago so today is to complete it. cache number nine was a nice quick find signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. thank yu for placing a trail along here, parking is a challenge but we managed. now onto Jack of clubs we go. TFTC nearly completed the clubs series 3 to go.

08-Jul-18
Another Murphys Law muggle right at GZ ...bother I will have a rest and wait ...all good now lol thanks cache is fine

08-Jul-18
We had some extra time today and thought this power series would be a nice trip down memory lane for us. Thanks for some easy to find caches, but you do need to watch the traffic on a Sunday afternoon. We had to forego this one in the morning due to a muggle parked at GZ, but a quick find when we passed back through.

08-Jul-18
There was no parking at gz and a muggle vehicle right there. We parked up the road and walked back. I am not sure the muggle was supposed to be there as he quickly ducked into the bushes (with chainsaw). I expected him to come out and "rescue " his vehicle and belongings, but he laid very low. Felt weird grabbing cache, but his vehicle was blocking any view of us. Thanks for the cache MCC

08-Jul-18
A plan was made with Team BOP to come to Huntly and do some serious caching for the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. 52 Pickup was a good place to start and we signed BOPnJAM to save space on the log. Most were nice easy finds so thanks for the series.

08-Jul-18
Out for a day's caching with Team BOPnJam. Most were quick easy finds and a little bit of maintenance. This was a card game I never found enjoyable, but this was a better way to play the game. Thanks for bringing us over this way.

08-Jul-18
We made up a team BOPnJAM with a group of cachers from the BOP (McJandals, TNxPro, Philip Perry, FrogyBeCaching and Davidson Clan) and Merlot58 to complete this 52 cache pickup series and to earn some some of the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. Great weather and great company and a lot of fun - TFTS

08-Jul-18
Out with friends today collecting caches for the hidden creatures souvenirs this power trail was a good option to get half the souvenirs. Looks like it was a busy day on the trail with alot of people having the same idea.
Thanks MC Clan .

08-Jul-18
Another big trip planned this time in an effort to obtain all the Hidden Creature Souvenirs. Team BOP (Davidson clan, McJandals, Frogybecaching, TNXPro & myself) joined with a couple of Westies (Jag50&Merlot58) to fill up the van and finish this series... and most of Huntly as well! Smile We signed the logs as BOPnJAM for expedience and to save on log space.

I've always thought this was a really good idea for a power trail but getting motivated to do it was an issue. Today we've got a good team on and were able to knock this off in a couple of hours. 95% of these were found quickly with accurate coords and a good hint. Some logs were mush, some containers were broken and at least 1 was missing entirely. All of our cache repair kits will need restocking when we get home but we're all stoked to have *'picked up 52'* caches.

A big thank you to the McCutchan Cache Clan, we had a good day Smile

08-Jul-18
Out with team BOPnJAM today to knock off the long anticipated 52.
This series didnt quite win our hearts, but we aced it and managed to score the full deck with a little maintenance on the way. It sure was a good way to clock up a large number of caches in quick succession and were were glad to have completed it.
Thanks for the series MCCC.

08-Jul-18
With Hidden Creature souvenirs up for grabs. A plan was hatched with our Westie buddies. We were all ready for a stormy rainy day but the weather gods were good to us today with no rain until getting home at 10pm. A great numbers trail with many of these caches needing maintenance, we will definitely have to restock caching kits as many log sheets were mush and unsignable!!. Still a fun day was had by all and many thanks McC for giving us a reason to come here. Please excuse my cut and paste logs in advance due to numbers. Cheers

10-Jun-18
Sunday trip on the bikes to complete 52 Cache Pickup - Waikato's power trail. Great company of Janno216. We just had one DNF today. Plesant day - great wetaher for cycling and joy! Thanks for placements. We had great time along Waikato river.

10-Jun-18
Some time ago tramyard and me already thought about doing this 52 Cache Pickup Trail. Today we both were free and it didn't rain so we made our way to Ngaruawahia (what a name !), prepered our bikes and started our journey.

All the Caches were fairly hidden and very easy to find. A couple of them were really wet so we were not able to sign the logbook. We only had one DNF, so we were done after three hours and made our way to the Bonus Cache after a nice lunch breake.

After this tour we had still time to find some local Caches.
We had great fun finding all These Caches!
Thank you McCutchan for hiding all of These!

09-Jun-18
Searched around the tree but no luck again. Widened search to a lot bigger tree 10 metred from GZ and found cache hidden under another rock between 2 rocks. Only 1 to and i've got all 52.

22-Apr-18
The log is wet we will hide it a little bit better to easy to see from the road

20-Apr-18
I was out on a fabulous day caching with Keylev, Laval & Dragon.Griffin.

Thanks for the cache McCutchan Cache Clan.

20-Apr-18
thanks for the cache

20-Apr-18
Fun day out, thankfully with little rain, with cragger, laval and Dragon.Griffin collecting this series. We found all except 2, a few were quite wet so we dried as best as we could. I think we did them back to front but found ok parking in most spots so was no issue. Loved the document that you uploaded which we ticked off as we went.

Thanks for the caches.

20-Apr-18
This was a series that myself and Keylev had wanted to do for a while. As it was the school holidays we made a plan to complete it today with Cragger and Laval as well. We did the series back to front which meant some parking spots were a little tight, especially with the amount of big trucks steaming along that road but we completed the series with two only DNFs. Unfortunately it was those two that had the codes we needed for the Joker Bonus. After a few tries with different coordinate scenarios we settled on one that was plausible and made our way there and soon had the cache in hand.

This was cache number 9. It took a little bit of searching for this one but when I extended the search I found the cache to the left hand side of a bigger tree... so a bit different from the hint Smile, TFTC!

02-Apr-18
Nahkins and I set off to find the Pack of Cards caches. 53 in total. As Nahkins wasn't feeling a 100% she did the driving and I did the hunting. There were times we both did the hunting. Very busy road and not many places to park it was drop me then find a park. I found 42, Nahkins 9 and 2 DNF. While we had a cuppa we solved the Joker cache. #44. Another wet log. Couldn't sign. TFTC

30-Mar-18
NZPatoto and I set off to find the Pack of Cards caches. 53 in total. We were going to bike but as I wasn't feeling 100% I offered to drive and NZPatoto did the finding. There were times we both did the hunting. Our road was very busy, with a cop car travelling south with lights flashing. SH1 heading south was at a crawl until lunchtime. Parking was interesting, would have been better in a 4x4. A few times I would drop NZPatoto and then find a park. I did manage to find 8 and there was 2 DNF. While we had lunch and a coffee we solved the Joker cache. #44 of 53 Found by NZPatoto. Log wet and emptied water. Baby skink on the road. TFTC Big Grin

26-Jan-18
Big write up in under the Ace of hearts. Thanks for keeping us caching all day

07-Jan-18
TFTC getting through them

06-Jan-18
Checked the wrong tree at first but quick find on second attempt, cheers

Stopped at every cache along the trail, replaced log sheets and containers as needed, relocated 2 of them to better places. Trail is now 100% ready, happy cache hunting.

Check the drop box link in Ace of Hearts GC34EG3 for an updated spreadsheet that contains updated information for each cache.

21-Dec-17
Decided to give this lot a try

20-Dec-17
#5029. Had a short but enjoyable stay in Auckland. Now its time to head home to Wellington for Christmas. But first another mission. My DGSC bulk find challenge concludes on Boxing Day and by then I will be trying to find up to 200 caches to bring up 1500 qualifying finds this year. So have three full on days of caching ahead of me before I get back home. Today I am tackling some Waikato power trails and staying overnight in Te Aroha so I can visit the old timer cache 101 tomorrow morning. Time to do the 52 cache pick up series. Quite a lot seem to be missing unfortunately. After a while I got pretty picky about the pick-ups and only stopped for those with recent finds or not in the direct gaze of muggle houses. Still a good series to get the numbers up quickly. Managed to find 28 between 3pm and 7pm then time to head off to Te Aroha. Thanks for the caches McCutchan Cache Clan.

18-Dec-17
No luck at all here today. two of us searched for about 15 minutes.

22-Jul-17
Missing, enough for today

04-Mar-17
Having an enjoyable trip along the river bank. Thanks for another one.

12-Feb-17
I was in Hamilton for the weekend for the Dahlia Show. Today I planned to find 120+ caches - the pack of cards series was the first to attack. A lot of the logs were full, and I just stamped where I could. I replaced some with paper where the containers weren't too wet. I just found 41 of this series - 7 DNF, & 4 didn't stop to look as they had had some DNF's. Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan for this series.

31-Dec-16
one more of the of the 44 caches in a day

09-Dec-16
I set out today to find the caches on the 52 Cache Pickup power trail. Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan for placing the caches.

Missed this one Sad

04-Sep-16
On my way up the line for a week of r&r and stopped for a couple of nights in Hamilton to pick up some caches. Decided to do this power trail to up my numbers. Another quick stop. Nice drive along the river. Have travelled the other side many a time but never this road. Lovely views of river. 90% of these caches need some sort of maintenance.

16-Aug-16
Hint nailed it. Log signed as b&p.Tftc McCutchan Cache Clan. Find # 3017

On a brief road trip with tmann421 today collecting the 52 Cache Pickup Series. A few DNFs along the way, but managed to collect most of them. A nice quick find at this one and then we were onto the next. A lovely drive along the river. TFTC and the series McCutchan Cache Clan.

01-Apr-16
After doing the 101 in Auckland this one was second on the list, after spending the day at rainbows end with the boys we headed down here to get the rest, added our card and all done with a twisted ankle, and one loving husband who has been my driver, only had a couple of dnf so a great day and and now to rest the body and have a well need beer, thanks for taking the time to place the caches. (Sorry for the copy and paste logs)

24-Mar-16
With rustynz finding a few more caches from the "52 Pickup Series"

Just a little behind with the logging, the PA discovered I had not logged these.

Tricky parking, a busy road, a bit of a cut thru, so cops about.

Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan for the series, maybe one day will get them all.

24-Mar-16
No rain, sun is shining, not too may cars, so finding the walk to GZ straight forward. Thanks for the hide Big Grin

18-Oct-15
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

18-Oct-15
FIN (laalaa, janahola, temyllyl, kapeka) holiday in New Zealand. Third day. Wonderful country and we enjoyed a lot. To way Aukland to Hamilton we found 52 Cache Pickup Power Trail.

Second day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka.

This day we started to head towards south and to Christchurch Mega event. We cached also this nice little power trail on our way to Hamilton. Nice views and easy containers.

18-Oct-15
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.

We had enough time to get this series before the event in Hamilton. TFTC!

Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!

11-Oct-15
QUICK EASY FIND GOOD HINTS THANKS SL TFTC

28-Sep-15
I gave this one a go but unfortunately I got my car stuck in mud.. and i mean REALLY stuck!!! my whole front wheel was under the mud and my car was on a lean which made it worse... Thankfully some guy stopped to help me out and after a lot of huffing and puffing and pushing and mud flying everywhere we got my car out!!! But it meant I gave up on the cache and did not want to continue with the trail. I can at least laugh about it now!!! I will be back one day to finish the trail off and get the final!

27-Sep-15
Definitely getting my exercise for today! Tftc

27-Sep-15
TFTC!!!

14-Sep-15
We had a few days to spare so decided to head over from Whangamata to Huntly to check out the local walks and of cause grab some of the caches in the area. TFTC

12-Sep-15
Night caching. Quite hard too do along here without bring attention to yourself. It had its moments but all in all wasn't too bad an experience. Most of the containers had water in them but the waterproof logsheets were hanging in there. TFTC

29-Aug-15
Our first attempt at a power trail - and we loved it - GPS was bang on every time - and the clues are great

The tree has obviously grown alittle since the cach was placed there lol

25-Aug-15
Out and about for a spot of caching in the rain while driving through the Waikato this morning. Well, with a hint like that it would be hard to not find it! I'm starting to detect a bit of a theme re: the containers used on this power trail. Cheers for the cache placement!

17-Jun-15
Awesome hint

31-May-15
Picking them all up today with All about that cache, Biartch79 & Newlynfam. Tftc.

31-May-15
Decided to tackle this today and split into two cars to divide and CONQUER!!
That which we did with Gonna Cache Em All and Biartch79 and Newlynfam.
Thanks for all the great hides, a few stumped us but we got there in the end Smile
Tftc and the adventure!!

31-May-15
Out tackling this power trail today as a team with Biartch79, All About That Cache and Gonna Cache Em All. With this one, we looked at the smaller of the two small trees first, thinking that must have been it, but then looked at the other one and found cache quickly. TFTC!!!
