I think everyone's logged in, and all TBs are out (which is unusual so soon after an event cache!) so I'll archive this. Thanks everyone again for coming and see you at a future event!

Sorry I could not get there! The geowife said let's go away and who am I to argue.
Hope to meet you guys next time! Smile

Thanks for the event the Happy Chappies.....unfortunately I didn't solve the puzzle caches quick enough....my brain wasn't functioning. It was great to meet some fellow cachers. Thanks a lot for the event...look forward to seeing you again.

Glad to meet a whole bunch of cachers today. Hurray for first event! Very Happy

30-Oct-11
Originally was planning on finding some pre-event caches prior to coming, but the weather wasn't looking good at all! The iPhone weather app said that the rain would stop in the late afternoon... But how late, is late, ya know?
Anyways, came with my newest tiara addition. Big Grin
Managed to solve a puzzle (hooray! but I did what I always do when I want to solve a cache, my google-fu assisted me!), but wasn't sure what to do with the container, so we just took out a lolly, and put it back for the next person to find.
Thanks for the lollies, muffins and the effort in organising this event Happy Chappies! (Oh, and getting the rain gods to hold off for just a little while longer!)

30-Oct-11
We braved the freezing temperatures, gusty winds and rain to attend this Halloween Eve Event. Great fun was had by all and even found a temporary cache with the aide of Earthbound 99 and the Chief. TFTF

30-Oct-11
My first geocaching event, a lot of fun (although my brain wasn't quick enough to solve the puzzles in time!) Several travelbugs discovered, I left one in return, and many pathtags handed out to those I met with a couple of new ones for my own collection. Thanks Happy Chappies!

30-Oct-11
Attended dressed in armour and helm, firstly solo, then accompanied by GLW and geocachlettes. Once geocachlettes arrived my eldest decided to dress up in daddy's costume.

Cold conditions prevailed, but luckily the rain held off.

It was good to meet some new (to me) cachers to put faces to names, and to catch up again with some I've already met.

Well done and thanks to Happy Chappies for organising this event.

30-Oct-11
Attended and had a ball! Met a few people that we had seen around 'name only' and it was great to put a face to the name. We hope people will remember who we are now...the costume may have helped make us memorable! Very Happy

Thanks happy chappies!

30-Oct-11
Yeh. what a cool night. finally placing faces to names.and meeting some lovely people. thanks happy chappies for organising a wonderful evening. [:x]

So great to catch up with everyone!! Great night had by all. Thanks Happy chappies!! TFTE!!

30-Oct-11
Thanks everyone for coming and making this event a lot of fun! The cold weather was certainly a challenge, but I was amazed at how many people hung around chatting so well for so long!

And sorry about the error in the lolly puzzle! I knew I'd end up with one error no matter how many times I double-checked it...

Great to meet some more new faces and engage freely in cacher talk without feeling like a weirdo Smile

Thanks from the Happy Chappies - tired, cold, but happy!

30-Oct-11
What a fantastic event! I have been looking forward to an event close to home for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity. I didn't come dressed as anything: lemmykc is just a tad difficult Razz Met up with some old friends and discussed their torture (some of it was deserved torture, mind you Wink ) and also met quite a few new people including a few that I have only ever chatted and pinged to such as Trailrunning, Jsmyong55 and CamBendy Big Grin I also chatted to some of the old veterans and I think I may have broken my jaw because I dropped it so much when talking to Alansee, Maccamob and Rabbitto! And don't let me forget to thank Eddie and the rest of the Happy Chappy Clan!! You did a brilliant job of organising it! Well done and thanks heaps for all the fun! Big GrinBig Grin

30-Oct-11
Went there with Whitepaws9 and Laker63. We dont know what do we doing as wish someone can explain us enough as we are bit disappointed, as we are very difficult barrier. We wish to stay bit longer to spend there so we decide to leave bit early. Hope in future so give us more information and write down, as we would be happy to communicate by paper and pen. Thanks to Happy Chappies for their organise Halloween Eve. Smile

30-Oct-11
Another great event by Happy Chappies, you're getting a name for yourself Smile Nice to put some faces to names. All walks of life, it was great Smile
Thanks Happy Chappies Smile

30-Oct-11
A most pleasant and cool evening. Solved two puzzles with drjim7 but not in time. Met some great folk. Kids enjoyed running around the park and Bonnie the dog had some fragrant new friends too.

30-Oct-11
Arrived a bit late and missed the hunt, but found a great crowd in attendance. Couldn't think of a suitable costume (had no time anyway as I got home from a weekend away and headed out straight here) so just went for the normal clothes complete with cat fur (my name is based on my cat's names!) It was great to put some faces to names and to catch up again with others. Didn't get to say hello to everyone unfortunately but had a great time. Thanks heaps to the Happy Chappies for the organisation and to all who came along. (Also good to meet a former workmate and fellow rally enthusiast who I didn't know was a cacher!!)

30-Oct-11
Brisk cool wind, almost wintery dull late afternoon but no rain at least to dampen the conviviality of this jovial event. There were plenty of folks to meet and greet but sadly missed meeting a few EB Chief, Bubblzdee, xambo4u - next event I hope. However did finally meet jsmyong55, Sir J-Oz, quiet1_au, ilovedrwho, TeamTosh, squalid, landau351, ° and few others who I can't immediately name I'm afraid. Enjoyed a bit of pathtag trade too, and met Mrs Happy Chappy for the first time. I met Mr Happy Chappy a couple of weeks ago out in the field. TFTC as they say.

A little public apology to crank1, whitepaws9 and laker63 - I thought that between the details on the cache page itself and the puzzle handouts that the planned games/activity would have been self-explanatory - Clearly that was not the case, so my apologies for that and I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed and left early, and I'm quite saddened by that - So will make sure that any future events I run make more efforts to avoid that confusion.

Attended 30 October 2011 @ 7:35pm

Ok, as you could probably tell, I didn't think I was going to make it to this event at all, and I was barely there, completely inappropriately attired, but I made sure to at least go and say hello to nearly all of the people there while I could.

Great opportunity to be able to meet and greet those that we only rarely sometimes see, and many who we never see.

Many thanks to the Happy Chappies.

Attended in our Squalid outfits-we arrived first(well, first after the host) as we wanted to put up the banner. It was a great turnout, especially considering the weather had turned unexpectedly cold. No rain though, which was good and a lovely barbecue supper was had. Good to catch up with everyone, we enjoyed the games. Thanks Happy Chappies, well done.

Thanks to Happy Chappies for organising this fun event - and for getting the rain to stop just before! Smile The number of people who were still there more than 2 hours after the start, despite it getting rather chilly, was quite amazing! Met a few people who I'd only read about before, and caught up with others. And the effort some people make to be able to dress as their cacher name (TrendyCacher???)... Wink

Looking forward to the next event.

30-Oct-11
This was a great event and there were lollies too.

Great to have meet more cachers who I had seen in the logs but never meet as well as others.

Many Thanks to the Happy Chappies for hosting this event. Had a great time.

30-Oct-11
We arrived at the event before 6pm to find the event in full swing and it was great to see a large gathering some good Halloween costumes and no rain.

It was not long before Happy Chappies opened the event and handed out some puzzles for the evenings event.

These included a couple of caches for the kids to get lollies and one that would give a lucky cacher the FTF for the event without the need to tie Covert to a tree. I grabbed one of the sheets and decided to go for a walk rather than sit and work through the questions and this proved to be a bonus with a local cache found and logged.

Again it was great to meet all the new cachers who attended and fun to catch up with friends.

A big thank you to Happy Chappies for putting this event together.

Regards Mr.Coffee and the “No need for a pumpkin usually at 6am in the mirror is spooky enough” Coffee Clan.

I came I conquered.. Was great to meet new faces and catch up with old ones.. Was glad to eventually retreat to the warmth of my car and I get out of my (as DrJim put it) OpShop suit and put on some warmer clothes to continue some puzzle caching with Philipp, Thanks Happy Chappies for the event (my 25th)..

Wow,

What a great event. The kids and I rolled up with the girlfriend and her daughter to find the cold park crammed with cachers. After a few introductions we were soon given a challenge or two. My major challenge was to stop my son running off caching on his own, but he's a good kid and soon returned after making a few sugar filled cache discoveries. As most of you know by now the final location of my 4-squared puzzle was only a few metres away, and my son was proudly telling everyone where it was! We had a great time but due to time constraints I was not able to meet everyone there. it was great to put some names to faces. I thank the Happy Chappies for arranging such a great event. thanks

30-Oct-11
Attended with Kmace. Despite the wind and threatening rain had a big turnout. Finally met many names encountered in playing of this game. Thanks for the good idea and organising happy chappies.
good hunting cachers
Watch out for Aliens

30-Oct-11
Thanks heaps Happy Chappies. For my first day of official caching, this was a lovely way to meet up with, and witness the passion, that you all have for this awesome sport/passtime. I wish my brain power was a little more keen on the night and allowed me to solve a few puzzles earlier, but thems the breaks. Look forward to meeeting a lot of you again in future. Very Happy

30-Oct-11
with crank1 and whitepaws9...when we arrived look everybody wear with halloween looks so great...but i feel left out and not idea anything so we leave early not stay longer....

30-Oct-11
Well, came dressed as myself but everyone recognised me! Great to meet up again and also met some of the newer cachers which is always good. My vote goes to Mrs Squalid for the best dressed.

Many thanks to Happy Chappies for all the effort.

30-Oct-11
Had a really nice time at my first ever event, shame about the weather but nice to meet people anyway. Big Grin

3:31 PM 30/10/2011

Headed out on a caching afternoon with brand new cacher obi-cal, a good friend of mine who has finally secummed to the caching lure.

I was glad to be able to attend this event. Had fun with the caching games. we even continued to do the crossword, even after it had been found - just for fun.

It was great to again catch up with friends and to meet new people and also introduce a new cacher to the geocaching community.

Thanks to Happy Chappies for a well organised event, I think fun was had by all.

30-Oct-11
Mary & David were there. Despite the cold wind, we enjoyed meeting many teams for the first time, and chatting to so many old friends. The park has great views too. We also had fun trying to work out the team names for those who dressed in theme (we, like Alansee, came dressed as ourselves). Very clever. We Our thanks to Happy Chappies for making all the arrangements.

30-Oct-11
We were privileged to attend our 45th event cache today and after a rainy day, the rain cleared just in time for the gathering but we were both glad that we took our coats. As usual, always nice to catch up with the old friends and this time, we got to meet and chat to a few more newer teams than usual as well. The games were fun and with everybody off with their own strategy, the Rabbitto method was applied but this time it was Mrs Rabbitto who came up with the prize. This was the first time that we have ever received an FTF prize at an event so thank you to Happy Chappies for the coin. We stayed until dark and the rain started once again on the way hope so well timed all around.

30-Oct-11
Will anybody bring pathtags or geocoins and Tb to swap?

30-Oct-11
Been hoping the weather will be better up there than what it is down here on the peninsula. We have decided to brave it anyway. Attending will be Mrs Walenator and Rhiua.

30-Oct-11
I'll be bringing a quantity of my personal pathtag to swap.

Should we have name tags? I would suggest both cacher & muggle names.

30-Oct-11
The weather is looking appropriately 'scary' for Halloween - but the forecast says showers easing, so fingers crossed.

We will have a box for geocoin swaps, and stickers for name tags.

At least we'll probably have the park to ourselves!! Smile

30-Oct-11
I will attend with kids (Blakeawesome and Jade*), g/f and g/f's daughter as we are just up the road. I line with other cachers we'll change our names for the night to Yellow Raincoat Cacher #1, #2, #3 etc ....

Can't wait, I have some treats to bring for the kids also Smile

Perhaps if there is a FTA (First to attend) prize, either Covert or Spladem will get there some time in the wee hours of the morning Wink. Of course you'd have to make a condition of the FTA prize that they stay to reserve the spot.

08-Oct-11
Sounds like a lot of fun, will definitely be there..Mmmmm Costume?

07-Oct-11
We've added a bit of information to the cache page about the activity planned for the event - The prestigious Trick and Treat Cache race! 4 different puzzles (of differing types/difficulty) will be revealed at 6:15, each leading to a cache you can keep (within the park), filled with Halloween goodies. One random cache will contain a FTF geocoin - the finder of that will get FTF honours for the event.

We've also decided to give treats for all, rather than just those wearing costumes so as to welcome all, and avoid the embarrassment of giving a treat to the guy in the hideous gorilla costume who just turned out to be rather follically abundant.... Red Face

07-Oct-11

Arrived at 17:50, (this was a last minute decision on our behalf) to find a wet and empty park, disappointingly there was no signs of other attendees, despite several laps of the park. Having waited for a good 20 minutes, we headed off for a good pub meal.

DOH!

Well that explains where everyone was [B)]
