I couldnt see any track to get to gz so we ended up bush bashing our way to it. It wasnt in the first flax we looked at but in the second one. TFTC
We could not find any trails to the cache so we had to end up Bush bashing to go nice big container TFTC
After we watched a training of horses at the course TEMBO! and I visited "RBT #1" and signed the guestbook.

Wau, that was a nice campground, with seaview. In the morning I was going for the one nearby and than 3 boxes on the coast. Head problem with that one's because you must go in the plants.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.
On a caching afternoon with yvettetb and nessvab, trying to log a few caches before the cyclone hits. It was getting pretty windy but still no rain.
Quick find though our GPS (geocaching app on phone) had us several metres from gz. Tftc

Out on a caching afternoon with Yvettetb & Thetravelbugtribe before Cyclone Gabrielle hits. Not much of a track here anymore and we weaved our way in and out of the plants. Cache was soon in hand. I went back to the car to retrieve a new plastic bag to keep the log dry. TFTC
Great afternoon caching in the blustering wind before Cyclone Gabrielle is due. Quick easy find at GZ with Nessvab & The Travelbug Tribe.
Followed the path to this one and then wondered over to the hint items. Plenty of them around here. GPS had us search a couple of wrong ones before we followed our senses and made the find here.
In town for the weekend, & started our morning with a very pleasant wander along the beach, & a quick-ish find here. Tftc : -)
Found it in flax bush where it says hood for kids as I had a 3 year old with me
Easy find that's to hubby. Lots of gorse amd mingimingi. Note paper very wet as previously stated
Cache found and swag left! Picked up the tb to join us on journey. Cache is a little wet so tried to dry what we could and replaced with lid right. Ttc
1309. 3 pm'ish (Accidentally logged in the field). I saved this starting one for the finish on the way back to the car. TFT(#1)C.
Wanted to attempt this trail but this first one had me clambering over the dune and plants which I was uncomfortable with. At GZ there were a number of suspects that matched the hint but I was to able to find the cache. Decided to abandon the trail and try some caches elsewhere.
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

Unusually without our canine companions today and remembered the caches around here were not dog friendly so decided to do a spot of caching on our way home. Not all that comfortable walking across the dunes and all its vegetation but we were here now. Found this cache had a nice bit of water it, which we tipped out, but the log was writable so good from that point of view. Thanks for the hide.
Visiting Ruakaka for an afternoon at the races. After loosing on the horses we set about changing our luck by picking a couple of winners (caches) nearby. Cut over from the race course hoping to pick up the dune pathway. No good, looks like it is now completely overgrown. Followed the GPS and soon found gz. Log book slightly damp but still usable. All good. TFTC
Couldn't see any sign of a trail around here other than the one to the beach, Took a few visits to flax bushes to locate the cache.

Came out here from whangarei to watch the races, thought my sister and I would go on a stroll between races. TFTC
Back in the area chasing some points for the Planetary pursuit. Found this just as its starting to get dark so no time to linger long. Right where GPS said it would be, cheers
I don't like flax !! But luckily this wasn't wet & Weta flax today. Nice find. Thanks
I enjoy these type of cache where it you, GPS, and the unbeaten track...excellent Co ords enabled a quick find thanks Rednuam6 for the great placement
This trail was on our list today after parking up nearby for the night yesterday. The trail was a bit indistinct and hard work in the windy wet weather. Thanks for the cache Rednuam6.
Found easily once at GZ, Frankie the muggle-boy-brother tagged along too. We did some trading here, and then returned the cache to it's hide without being spotted by the workers grading the racecourse road nearby. TFTC Lily, Oli + Frankie
After searching the wrong flax, I soon found it. Coords 2m out, but I'm only using my iPhone. Container and log book in good order. Left a love heart stamp. Thanks for bringing me here #ttmug
Many hint items around this area however had cache in hand after a few minutes of searching TB is mia tftc
Out for a Sat avo to try and convert some green around Ruakaka into yellow smileys. Never been to the northern side of the Ruakaka estuary, so this tril was a good reason to go. Nice easy find, but quite difficult to make out the trail.

Awesome day up at Ruakaka to explore the beach and do a spot of Geocaching! Fun cache to find in the sand dunes.. The hunt was followed by some dune sliding and sand handstands. Thank!

When the hint says flax I'm not keen, but accurate cords have made this easy thanks!
This one didn't take us too long. We did hunt in quite a few nearby flax bushes before my caching buddy called out those magical words "got it". I'm having a lovely day in this beautiful area, TFTC
Pulled up right at this entrance to this walk, weather was windy but quite sunny, after a short walk across the dunes, cache was soon in hand. Heading back to Auckland after a long weekend in Whangarei.
Parents & I were holidaying in Ruakaka for a week.
Lovely sunny day, so headed out for a morning walk along the beach.
Had been unable to find the start of the path, so wandered along the beach, near GZ I scrambled up the sand dune, leaving my 80 yr old parents on the beach.
Quickly located cache and path. Returned to beach via path, ending up about 15m further down beach. Had to shout several times before my parents heard me over the wind. TFTC

Found this after a bit of bush whacking as think we came in from the wrong place!! TFTC
Decided to do this walkway while we were at the nearby Marsden City with Team Welsh. A nice stroll among the dunes and some great cache containers. All in good condition and easy to find. Thanks.
At Bream Bay today to watch the boy play football. Managed to grab a few caches before kick off. No problem with this one. TFTC
Little Barrier visible today with a long white cloud overhead. Gorgeous day to venture out. Note: No trackable found in this cache.
