Team G0LD (Geos 0B8, Lis & Daffy) on a mission to Auckland today to get enough points for this months souvenir challenge. Higher FP caches were the main target, but we weren't going to pass up any others that were close by either.Had lots of experience on G-2 caches today and thought we had worked out the hints and we actually found a C Y R Not, but no cache, so maybe it was not for us 2 C 2 day .. ??? Trees have been cut down close to indicated GZ, so wonder if this has impacted on the hide ?? Thx anyway

Wandered on down through the long grass, and a 'Danger tape" towards the tree concealing this cache, where I had to slowly hop over all the fallen logs, trying to prevent rolling my ankle to arrive at GZ. I quickly spied an item of interest and circled towards the backside of the tree (As per hint) and tried to decipher what the hint was suggesting. A short while later, I placed my hand "there" and had the log soon in my hand, ready to sign myself in : ) What a random cache this is as it's definitely one of its kind! TFTC G-2

#Road to 1K finds
Seeing I was sitting on 979 cache finds this afternoon, I set out on a big caching trip on my bike around Rosedale and Unsworth Heights where I ended up collecting 21 total finds including 19 trads and 2 mystery's...Some really neat caches up this way and so, so happy I could achieve my 1000th find at GC5CQMJ. Thanks to all CO's for their lovely hides!

DNF today - will be back Smile

18-Dec-21
Nicely camo’d. It took a while before what I’d read made sense. LB full so took photo as evidence. TFTC

Quite the adventure here for my second and final cache of the day. Headed along the path from the last find and at about 25 metres out encountered tape across the path, and workmen busily removing branches and the like from the biggie on the corner, which turned out to be the host too. They invited me to come over the tape as they'd finished for now, though were concerned when I checked my screen and tried to discreetly search. Turns out these tree fellas, three fellas had been hassled by some protestors earlier so were wary. I once I shared a taster of what I was there for they were keen and helped in the search. Like others I assumed the hide would be something and mad an ass out of me. Eventually I twigged and checked 'that' and there was the little thing. Shared the fun and replaced as found. A good 20 minutes of being there and good fun.

My first time down this industrial estate type road and a few caches available here too. After disappointment at the first one, I left the car alongside and walked to the next two options which I had success at. Nice weather this afternoon, not too warm and starting to dry out a little.

21-Feb-21
Had a couple of attempts at finding this one whilst GeohoundandI has been at waterpolo. Found the entrance to the path but there was somebody sat on a bike looking menacing, so gave up. Next time it was starting to go dark, so gave up. Third time brought GeohoundandI down, but the gps was playing up and we couldn't read the hint so gave up.
Today, the coast was clear so came down, circled the tree, almost broke my ankle on a pine cone and prickled on gorse, climbed over the Danger tape, and spotted the cache instantly even though I intended looking for a different camo.

02-Feb-21
A quick lunch time grab? Why not? Thank you for the cache.

24-Jan-21
Exploring this side of the bridge with Nette1234 on a Sunday so there was plenty of parking available. As we approached gz, the area was temporarily fenced off with DANGER tape, but this did not stop us!!!! Once at gz we soon spotted this tangled cache. FP for excellent camo. Log is almost full and will need replacing soon

24-Jan-21
Over on the shore with Jag 50. Danger tape did not stop us finding this one.

23-Sep-20
Surprised how well this ones lasted, 9 years!

OM gosh . . . . This cache is what I was expecting from the owner. A twist and always great camo. Gets a fav point fr me. TFT hide

21-Jun-20
Was getting frustrated, but had one last look before leaving. Don’t know how many times I saw it but didn’t realise it was the actual cache. Great hide, TFTC.

31-May-20
Not today will come back another time and try again

Signed SITM took a little whole to find the right tree due to GPS bring jumpy as usual. Patient scanning revealed a knotty little problem which revealed the cache. NICE!

13-Mar-20
Not sure what’s happening here, the area has been taped off due to tree trimming but that was months ago and it looks ok.

07-Mar-20
No luck. There's been some chainsaw action going on here... I hope the cache is fine... I couldn't find it.

29-Jan-20
Whaia te huarahi!!!!

Great hiding place.... not what we were expecting...

Was in Aucks today and had an appointment very closeby. Sooooo with a little time to spare I wondered along this wee Random pathway all alone. Once at GZ and reading the hint it all fell into place. Amazing camo from the master indeed. all signed and just how it was thx. fav point as simply the best thx.

08-Apr-19
Hunting for some extra caches for the carnival, I found my way to an area I regularly drive through but normally never stop. Until now
I had to read the description again and again and then it made sense all of a sudden. With the sound of happily playing children in the background, I made my way down the random path. And there it was! Tftc! And now I will forever drive past here knowing this path is not so random anymore but has been given a purpose by the CO

31-Mar-19
Had an hour to kill in between kids waterpolo games so popped down to the park for a run around. “Put your shoes on says I” “I’ll be fine” says Mr 9. And promptly stood on a nail.
Clever camo TFTC

24-Feb-19
Another great one here! GPS bang on. But the hide! Well done and many thanks for joy.

22-Dec-18
Out doing our 366 day calendar. Unusual camo. We can see why favourite points have been given and there’s another from us.

16-Dec-18
After finding the random path, on a quiet Sunday AM allowed an undisturbed quick look around at several contenders, why knot give this one a better look. An item was extracted, but where is the log??? OH... There it is. TFTC

08-Dec-18
Classic!

What a great cache! Found on a Sunday night after church introducing a few curious friends to geocaching - safe to say they were impressed! TFTC!

11-Dec-17
I was a little concerned approaching this GZ but turned out to be a quick find. Love your work G-2. TFTC and worth an FP for my 2200th find.

05-Nov-17
Great hide, very quiet on this Sunday afternoon, we had the place for ourselves. I spotted something a bit strange early on and that was it Big Grin It could definitely have taken a lot longer TFTC Smile

24-Oct-17
This was a great location but couldn’t find! Probably best I hadn’t worn jandals as definitely barbed wire and prickly stuff around. Will come try again another day.
Oh, muggle on smoke break watching and curious as to why we would be in such a location searching through tree!!!!

21-Oct-17
Great teeny little cache

30-Jul-17
Was playing around for it for 5 minutes before we figured it it was the cache

24-Apr-17
We were at the swimming pool of the Millennium Institute of sport during the World Master Games of the last april. During pauses we decided to search some caches in the near surrounding. Following my GPS, I was a bit sceptical about the result of my attempt to find this cache… but finaly I reached te GZ, and it was the good place, and a super camo ! After a short search I could sign the logbook. It is one of my favourites. This is a late log on the site, because after the World games we made a round trip of New Zealand, and back home we had quite a lot of urgents things to manage !!! TFTC.

22-Apr-17
Oh yes, very clever. Especially the warning. I'm giving this one a fav point for sheer 'nottiness!'

03-Dec-16
Stopped by with merlot58, who had found this recently. She kindly narrow down which tree to focus on, but stood back and watched in amusement as I passed by the cache after touching it. I turned around and gave the knot another look and something stood out. Very clever.

18-Nov-16
I was in the area and had some time to kill so thought I'd take a random path to a random cache. Initially I could not see the knot but on a little more investigation I saw the knot that was not... clever camo, but that's what I expected from this CO. FP added

28-May-16
Took us a little longer than it should have but very cleaver indeed

06-May-16
Wow what a cool hide. Today I've had a couple of really great caches that just blend into their environment so well with the custom made camo, but this was the best. TFTC

25-Apr-16
Stupidly went through a gorse bush for this one, got something stuck in my thumb. Well worth it though, as this is one of the best caches I've found. Found it very hard to open, but managed. Tftc!

25-Apr-16
This one was a great find! Love the work that went into the camo!

14-Feb-16
After picking up a nearby cache for a challenge we were working on, yorkshirekiwi83 and I went into this hidden reserve to look for the 4 caches placed in here. Approached GZ from behind and quickly spotted something of interest, which then revealed the cache! A nice hide, TFTC!

14-Feb-16
Vistra and I were in the area picking up a cache for a challenge, decided to grab a couple of others whilst we were here. From the previous cache we jumped the fence and walked through the field (looked easier) and quickly made our way to GZ, quickly found the cache.

I wandered about looking at a range of spots when I got to near GZ. The GPS was a bit jumpy for some reason, but I soon got the right spot when I found that which we were warned about. Even then, it took a bit of searching about to find the thing and work out that it was actually the cache. This was certainly in the league of G-2's infamous camo, and I have added a fav point for the camo alone. It was also nice to be here with the nearby businesses closed, so I did not have to contend with the local employees. TFTC!

26-Dec-15
Found whilst doing the caches round here on a fairly warm day. Thank goodness for the trees. Nicely hidden. TFTC.

20-Nov-15
I just had to pick the right one of them and look around for the hinted item. It was not very hard. TFTC.

11-Nov-15
Totally best ever !!!
Very unexpected ....must admit I invited Ric to go caching with me today , and he spotted it....!
Would never have noticed this myself in connection with geocaching !
Excellent construction and execution...Fave !

Was lucky to have the hint as this was a great help. Great cammo. A favourite. Tftc

01-Nov-15
In the area again picking up a cache I couldn't attempt on my previous visit. Also decided to see if my hunch was right about where this cache was hidden. And yes, made a quick find this time. TFTC Smile

17-Oct-15
Spent a few minutes at both trees, but couldn't locate it. After re-reading the hint I might know where it is, but we'll see.

03-Oct-15
VERY small - at first difficult to find.

15-Aug-15
I c d knot, but not the knot I want! But I c d cache which is wot I do want, very clever u r G.

05-Jul-15
Some how or other we ended up here rather than there. Oh well what does it matter a cache is a cache at the end of the day. In deed a random path which needs to be followed. Cache very quickly located thanks to generous information supplied. All rather easy considering the CO! TFTC

01-Mar-15
Great disguise - walked right past although the barb wire could have snagged me had it not been for the warning!
Tftc

25-Jan-15
Found it!

25-Jan-15
What an awesome hiding spot! Really impressed. Chur =)

03-Jan-15
Did knot find this cache too difficult - after rereading and unravelling the clues and searching a bit. Nice hide. TFTC

19-Dec-14
Bit squishy in the grass today. Guess we did knot look on the right spot.

07-Dec-14
Wow that was hard nice though

19-Oct-14
Gr8 hide. Alot of effort gone into this one. Knotty clue not 'in'tree

05-Oct-14
It's getting easier to locate these

05-Oct-14
The smallest ever. Haha! Beautiful area.

05-Oct-14
One of the cooler ones I've found so far. Was knot that hard Wink TFTC

28-Sep-14
Passing by after watching Waterpolo nearby...need to use your geocache brain to grab this one !! Thanks for the hide Smile

28-Sep-14
Our first attempt. Fail!

13-Sep-14
Knit one, Purl one, K2 and make a knot. Another clever hide. t4tc

05-Sep-14
Nice little hide this one has been on my to-do list for a while being so close to work. Finally got it on the weekend without looking too dodgy

19-May-14
I couldn't find this geocache, maybe I'll have better luck next time!

10-May-14
Back here today with lemski after our last attempt seemed to have been in vain. Having spent ages trying to decipher the clue last time we were pretty sure of what needed to be done and on this visit we had the cache in hand almost immediately.

Very nicely done - TFTC

10-May-14
With shoes and pants getting wetter made my way to GZ. Nice quick find. Loved the camo, again. TFTC.

10-May-14
Great camo. Thanks

24-Apr-14
Random path? Agreed! Managed to park nice and close to the start and walked on down to GZ. Super quick find of a most unusual hide. Cheers for the cache placement!

22-Apr-14
No

16-Apr-14
easy best cache ever

23-Feb-14
Nice Smile gave me something to do while waiting. TFTC.

20-Feb-14
YOU ARE THE MAN GLYN. Nice work, this is one of my favourites from you. Perfect use of the surroundings, a good camo effort, enough to hide it, but just enough for me to say...'that doesnt look ...quite right...'.

Started to drizzle as I left here, but was in a great mood after finding such a neat cache, so who cares. All the barbed wire here made me think of Pamela Anderson and Temuera Morrison...not sure why.

Thanks - a fav point.

08-Feb-14
What a twisted sport this is. Reading the hint had us knotting our brains but hope glimmered. A fav from us. NINO TFTC

I read the hint, I untangled it, I'm sure I was looking in the right place, but I did not find it. I *must* have missed the obvious.

30-Nov-13
Last one for the day for us and unfortunately had to settle for a DNF here. Thought we had it all figured it out but no dice for us today. Somewhat reassuring to see we're in good company for missing the obvious at least. Will be back another time.

28-Oct-13
Phew! Thank goodness for the boys perseverance. Fun find.

26-Jun-13
Went during lunchtime on a weekday, luckily it was dreary so no one was outside. Had to duck a few times from muggles in a closeby factory! Was about to give up when I thought to myself, lets read the clue out loud, what a difference Smile Haha tiniest cache so far! TFTC!!!

03-Jun-13
Lucky was a public holiday so no one working nearby (or having lunch which would make a tricky find!)
Took me longer to find than should have as was looking for a different type of knot!! Funny how when get an idea of what you are looking for is hard to get that thought out and look for other options!
Thanks

03-Jun-13
Second time here!!!!!

This time I saw the THE knot and the tube after a few seconds - bingo.

One less on my DNF list

We wood knot have got this one if we hadn't sat and thought about the clue. On our 3rd visit (1st time was in near darkness) so really happy to have a smiley on this one. Very clever! tftc
