Wow it is dark in here! Naughtybunny and my 2 squids planned this one for a little while. The important thing is that it wasn't raining and hasn't done so for many days. Off we went. It was a long walk to the side-tunnel and was happy to see hints that we were on the right track. Into the tunnel and got really muddy. Happy to see the cache sitting there in the dodgy room at the end. A really fun cache and enjoyed it. The squids enjoyed it too! Thanks so much for this. TNLN. Cheers.
That was so much fun! Chookster brought his mini-chicks and we all changed into our daggy clothes and set out on a subterranean adventure. We saw lots of cockroaches, spiders, good art, dubious art, mud, stinky water and cool old bridges and tunnels. It was perfect weather today, and not too wet underfoot. I even saw a graffiti NaughtyBunny of sorts!TFTC. Had a ball.
Had the best morning doing this cache! Just the best! I will never forget this experience! Thank you so much for this hide! A favorite point! Would do it all over again
Marvellous today with the group. The one that was the best for me went there and had fun, laughed, shared. fav from me. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Uni and Medusa.
One of several finds, with deaf geofriends seeking new places. This has to be one of my fantasies, subterranean searches even for me as a tall bloke. Lots of back bending, walking like a crouching caveman . Where the cache was found, what a great view looking away from the pipe. Over here for the Great Leap Forward mega event (held yesterday). Good opportunity for me to try out a new TOTT bought at the mega stalls. TFTC, worthy of a FP
Came here with my geofriends. Including my geohusband SurdiVisio. Amazing discovery, long term time underground. TFTC
Went there with geo-friends. It was an incredible and great experience. It is definitely worth visiting. Some of the artworks are interesting. Thank you for placing this multi-cache here. FP awarded for a unique journey.
Something special or unusual goes here:There were three of us heading through to this cache tonight. The first part, the trip to the crawl phase was exciting and revealed a part of Adelaide I didn't know existed. very informative. However you look at it, the tunnel height and myself were mutually exclusive. I had to step constantly crouched and every time I raised my head to get a look further than the next four feet inn front of me I banged my head on the roof. By the time we reached the next part of thew adventure. Me head was sore, my legs and back was burning and a had to lie prone on a dry section of concrete for a few minutes. [:(!][:(!][B)][B)] Time to head to GZ. Apparently there are dead bodies there. No dead bodies, just a cache. Now for another crawl and some more body breaking to get to the exit still a long way away in Norwood. .Needless to say as I am doing this log I am still alive but a word of warning. Since this and another cache in this tunnel system I contracted Cellulitus and have been on IV antibiotics for 5 days and still a long way to go. As well as the usual warnings get out of your wet, muddy clothes and clean and disinfect and wounds, however slight , as quickly as possible.Of course it was a favourite. [B)][B)]The Generic Bit:Woo hoo. It is finally Leap Day. Off to the Mega I went for four hours of volunteer work. Did the Lab caches and then met up with Muff1 and S.A. Sewer Rats for an afternoon of caching and laughs. I was glad to not have any further DNFs and rectify a few past ones. Then it was side Event Dinner and some fun in the drains***Thanks Uni and Medusa for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
**Today**Leap Day has arrived! Today myself, DSD, Muppet95 and pantspeople teamed up for a whole day of fun! With the mega event opening up at 10am, we decided to spend the morning cleaning out the city as much as we could. 8-12pm was on foot walking around the city, successfully finding two webcams, more virtuals + ECs than we could count and whatever physical caches we could grab on the way! Afterwards, we spent some time at the mega venue doing all the labs + getting goodies & refreshments to get out of the sun for a while! The afternoon was spent driving from street to street picking up as many epic caches on our list as we could, caching until we were exhausted! Thanks to all the COs -**This Cache**After a long day of mega activities and non-stop caching, I wasnt sure if I would be able to drag myself underground for a night time adventure! Drains are one of my favourite types of caches however, owning multiple similar hides in ACT. The rest of my daytime crew (pantspeople, DSD & Muppet) opted out of this adventure, but they strongly encouraged me to still go, thanks! So a new crew was formed - Many thanks to Laighside Legends for the invitation & brisal5 for completing our trio for the trek to this cache! This cache was TOUGH & LONG. It was further than I had anticipated, and the drain height was a lot lower than I thought too! We had to go slow & steady as we are all quite tall and needed several breaks to regain our energy. We were so exhausted that at times we were more than happy to lie flat on our backs in the drain with cockroaches crawling around, just to be able to stretch out! We had been walking for so long that at one point we started to get delirious and wondered if we had actually missed the 60cm diameter pipe on the right! The instructions make it sound closer than it is! We trusted our instincts though & decided that was almost impossible, as we had been keeping an eye out. It was only a couple bends in the drain later that we found the spot we were looking for a rejoiced! Crawling into the chamber to find the cache was actually the easiest part of the journey! As I popped out the other side I was crossing my fingers so tightly that the cache would be waiting for us, and it was! Wooooohooo! After having a little party at the cache location, we finally decided to head back out! Another tough slog, but we soon emerged. If it wasnt for Laighside Legend & brisal5s previous finding / local knowledge of this cache, I would have been totally in the dark and no way I would have done this alone. So many thanks to them both! Absolutely incredible adventure! Huge FAVOURITE from me! Many thanks again
Bridges and arches and tunnels are great locations to hide geocaches! Together with my beloved husband Destinator I visited lots of them in many countries all over the world! ?? This one was really a highlight, but explore by yourself! ??Thank you for leading us here and many greetings from Germany.#4478
Somehow almost every vacation ends up visiting an underground location. ??Whether it's the USA, Singapore (the highest terrain rating of the city at time of visit), Spain, Germany or whatever.Madeye&Moody and me followed the white bunny ?? down the rabbit hole. You know the ancient Chinese proverb:"Never Mess With A Geocacher - We Know The Best Places To Hide A Body..."Lots of Graffiti, some cockroaches but nothing dangerous came along our way. Thanks for this really cool adventure.#4313
Settling into another phase of our southern journey our travels taking us to a few more challenging challenges. This one certainly was a challenge.TFTCache darksidelemm & badooleoo
10amJoined in the fun of venturing into the tunnel to get this cache with friends. Should have had my wet shoes on but never mind, my hikers will dry out.Made our way into the tunnel and admired the artwork on the walls. Once close to Gz, we made our way in to where we felt the cache was hidden. Found the cache and signed the log. What an interesting place!! Was a tight squeeze but made it out.Tftc
This turned out to be an action-packed fun day, and I felt very privileged to be in the company of this awesome group of geo friends. To be honest, I was a little nervous to begin with after reading the descriptions for both tunnel caches, but knowing I was in great company, my fears quickly disappeared. It was a really good experience overall, and I only got slightly dirty crawling on my knees in two sections and as a bonus, I didn't bump my head on any of the low areas that tested our neck muscles.Thank you, darksidelemm & badooleoo, for this fantastic adventure, and of course a favourite point from me.
This was a grand adventure today, and the intrepid group of cachers met at 8 am sharp to begin this adventure. We thought we were following instructions, but clearly we had not read quite clearly enough. Suffice to say we overstepped the mark and found ourselves out in sunshine once again, not where we needed to be.It was then an about-face, hats back on to protect the head, and a back-bending walk to GZ. This time we knew exactly where we should be, as indeed, we had stopped at that very spot on the way through and commented on a number of things. This time, feeling pretty sure we had the right side tunnel, it was time to get down and really dirty. Mud on the knees and hands to prove it, and the log is signed. Thanks Uni and Medusa for our subterranean adventure. That was a lot of fun!Domsky
Wow, its dark in here!3.5/5.0 Regular Multi-cache Back in Adelaide after 14 years. Here for The Great Leap Forward Mega and catching up with awesome caching friends and revisiting Adelaide where we lived for 16 beautiful years! Had a wonderful time reminiscing and admiring wonderful changes in the State, meeting friendly cachers and helpful COs and finding quality caches, high D/Ts and old ones. Tenkae messaged if I'm keen to do GC39ZWT Rusticle Resistance. Turns out there's 2 caches in the area! So I quickly contacted my favourite cachers. Consequently this was some kind of a sewer rats reunion, as I have moved to NT, domsky is now in ACT, and Tenkae is wandering all over Australia. We first united at Brookfield Redemption GC5GVDC 23 May 2020 Covid time!Thank you for the cache darksidelemm & badooleoo. Enjoyed this adventure thoroughly! ??
This is exactly where a Turtle would live. Great morning underground in the CBD. Being the shortest made the job easier. Thanks Malco! for guiding us. Turtler Out
Made the awesome journey with Malco!, SupaTurtle and Csaba!. Glad we had gumboots for the first section and gloves for the last section. Tra La Laaa
This one has been on my radar for quite some time. Malco! mentioned this cache some years ago but needed the time to be right and the Supa's to the old enough. Today was the time and Malco! was happy to adventure back into the dark. Not being a fan of the dark or small places I certainly earn't my stars today. It's amazing how people have walked this far just to spray walls. Great fun. Thanks
Had been wanting do to the cache in here for many years, and finally organised to go along with WayneAPN, as well as Laighside Legends and Gridge98 & Co to come along for the adventure.
Arrived on a warm evening after a dry spell, and before forecast rain the next day, we made our way into the drain from the western end. There was a trickle of water to wade through up to about ankle deep as we made our way upstream.
The amount of artwork was amazing - so much of it, and it was interesting reading the dates of some of it which had been there for nearly 20 years.
Stooped our way along and then made the necessary diversion through the smaller tunnel to find the cache. The ammo can was in good condition, as well as the log book. Noticed the chocolate sauce bottle was still there and was well past the expiry date, along with a can of pineapple drink that we dared not to open
Signed the logbook and explored this section, dodging the fallen ceiling for a bit of fun.
A rewarding feeling to sign a log that hadnt been touched for 808 days, with the last find being in 2019, when COVID was just a boy.
Awesome adventure - loved seeing a totally different world underground and definite favourite point for this one!

Out with Weredunn4 and others. Great adventure.
Scrolling through past log entries, I see some have mentioned a chocolate sauce bottle. Its still there. Could not find a Use by date on the bottle. So unsure of how old it is. Didn't do a taste test
Noticed an out of date [by 2 years] Pineapple juice drink can [unopened] there as well.
Interesting reading the graffiti on the walls. Some date back a long way.
Thanks for taking us here, brings back childhood memories of drain crawling as a teenager.
Fun times had exploring the underground.
Need to find some more tunnel caches.

Wow, it’s dark in here! was transferred from darksidelemm to user Uni and Medusa
A select few nutters gathered on a street corner waiting for the last load to arrive after we had all followed the leader but lost one party at a set of lights, from the early morning event we had about half of the attendees here in the end.
I would love to write a nice detailed long log but don't wont to spoil it for others, needless to say we had a great time walking down this drain and after much back bending we made our way to GZ without any issues, i can think of a few people that could walk down here standing upright, I on the other hand are not one of those midget people.
The last burst had me a little worried, let life be short else the shame will be too long, I came out the other end and found myself stood next to davidwazza who had done far more reading about the cache than me and knew what the icy magic was for.
With the log signed we explored for a bit talking about what may have caused this tunnel to be a dead end before we headed back to the larger but shorter space.
Thanks darksidelemm and badooleoo this cache fills a hole in my D/T grid at long last.
Gets a favourite point for sure, if anyone doesn't give this one they must be making some amazing caches I've never seen!
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

After the early invasion event we joined a group of locals - e.gregory1, featherwaite, gridge98 and Davidwazza to play in the drains. I'd seen photos and was intrigued! What I wasn't ready for was just how warm it was underground , I was dripping with sweat as were worked our way to GZ (not to mention the awkward stoop I had for the next three days ). I did appreciate the the manholes where I could stand up and fee the breeze.
A great cache and really enjoyably finding this as a group.
Fav point worthy for sure.
Thanks darksidelemm & badooleoo
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

Visited again today with a few others that wanted to find this, the roof is a lot lower than what I thought. Still a good time.
I visited this cache early this morning with a small group of cachers following an even earlier event.
Yes, it is dark in there. Its also rather low. Will I now have a permanent stoop?
Thanks darksidelemm & badooleoo for the cache.

With a few Tasmanians visiting Adelaide, a plan was hatched to complete a couple of these drain caches. I had seen the photos and heard of stories from previous Geocachers of this one, so have been keen on going on this adventure, but the timing hadn't been there, or the right season with safe conditions hadn't presented itself. This morning seemed to be as good as any, and I packed my good torch and some daggy clothes that I didn't care too much of for mud and cobwebs that became of them. We met at the morning *Invasion of the Tasmanians* event, and once that had elapsed, we organised ourselves to this geocache. The team consisted of Tasmanian visitors gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat, and locals e.gregory1, featherwaite, gridge98 and I.
gridge98 had visited this geocache previously, so at least we also had some local knowledge and intel to how to best proceed. Consequently, we came through the back entrance and made our way along the "new" tunnel system. The graffiti was really cool, and quite the adventure. It was completely dry in this section with no signs of water, and not much else for that matter also (no cockroaches, no spiders, etc.). We continued along as quick as we could in the body position hunched over, and came across the side passage to this geocache. We took in turns crawling through, and once it opened up, the cache was found. The cavern itself was pretty interesting, and we discussed what events caused it to collapse at the back and be filled in. Recent history perhaps? The geocache was in good condition, and interesting to see the icy magic still see (a previous finder mentioned the ice magic and what to use it for). A great adventure, Favourite Point from me, thanks darksidelemm and badooleoo.

What a cool cache! Can't believe I hadn't ventured down here all these years!
Grabbed a crew and off we ventured...
Rats, cockroaches, cavers, a dog, pipes, dirt, mud, water, rocks, webs, and dirty knees.... all good fun...
Followed the instructions and found the tin.
Made our mark with the ice choc, am sure the rats will love it...
Thanks for a cool adventure...

Wow, that was an adventure. With the opportunity to avenge a dnf was offered to me I was all in. At the entrance there seemed a fair amount of water which I was expecting after our Adelaide heat wave. But this didn’t stop us and we ploughed forward. After some time we saw lights heading towards us. A very busy underground world today. We met the dog who turned out to be a very decent ratter. We met the film crew taking picture of the art work. We traversed the candle lit underground as we made our way towards the cache. Once at the required location we turned right, got down on our hands and knees and made our way slowly to the cache. Thanks to my fellow travellers for the company and protection and thanks to darksidelemm for the cache. A favourite from me as my first tunnel cache.
Wow - this is one hell of an experience! A mate of mine (KalebClark) is over in Adelaide and I saw this and said let’s go!
To start with there was a bit of water and we had to build a bit of a bridge to get to the next section as we only had sand shoes on! We stopped to take some photos which I’ll upload later! Once we got to the hole I climbed through and signed the cache! Probably the worst bit of the underground adventure!
We decided to keep on walking and was a surprisingly quick exit compared to walking in.
Saw 100s of cockroaches which was rather disgusting!
What an awesome experience and would recommend anyone doing it!

Wow - it is dark ... and kind of spooky, but well worth the experiance and still lives on after the addition of the bus tunnel!.
An awesome adventure was had - far more fun than your usual urban cache find.

Out for a stroll underground with Sebastbat, Moneydork, and RidetheGeoWalrus,
we made good progress through a wetter than expected pathway.
A good test for the sore back and neck, with quite a bit of bending,
and plenty of artwork along the way. We would never be lonely down here,
despite the dark, a few million cockroaches call this place home. [:(!]
Pleased to have finally signed this one off.
tftc darksidelemm and a fav for the experience.

May have found the right tunnel, may nothave. Did find a rat though. My buddy called it a mouse.
Found whilst with RideTheGeoWalrus, Alex-thesquirrel and Bek-theraccoon on another mission. I was the only one of the group who hadn't found it so the others kindly went with me to GZ. TFTC
Walked about half a k doubled over at the waist and arrived at GZ drenched in sweat but that only made the find all the more rewarding. Loved exploring the wonders hidden under Adelaide's inner east and this has easily been my favorite cache so far. Thanks d&b!
Not for the faint hearted and more suited to the vertically challenged! Great cache though, had a great time searching for this one. Thankyou darksidelemm
Awesome fun!
I have been through Adelaide Darkie a few times before and love this drain.
No problems finding the cache. Went in with Team Eldo.
Left a golfball and a new logbook.
Definitely deserves a very rarely given Beaker fave point
Best cache I've done in a long time.
I miss draining

Yep. It was dark. And Rod81w and Sir_Spectre's 1000th finds. Thanks for organising us all guys and 3LG for the assistance. TFTC. 17/01/2016, 13:30 Find #1273
Went in with allister w and cara81. Was nice and cool thankfully as it was a bit warm up top. Glad I waited until summer though. TFTC.
For months now sir_spectre and I have been talking about which cache to do for our 1000th and it was clear that this was the cache. We thought about going in by ourselves and thought why not get a few other cachers together and do it as a group.
messages were sent out and was surprised at the amount of ppl that wanted to do this cache.
We all met at GZ consisting of myself, sir_spectre, 3LG, Tomboy711, Anymules, Kiwiozzi and JJ52 and entered the drain. Just Great wet feet within the 1st 20 metres and encountered a friendly artist doing a new piece. As we started to get further in the drain narrowed and we all started to become hunchbacks. Few rest brakes were taken and we all took advantage of the fresh air from the openings when possible.
Woohoo we finally reach the entry point to where the cache is. Within seconds we lost mr 3LG only to hear a voice saying you coming in or what? Seems he snuck in there unnoticed so he could take the photos of us emerging from the drain. Log was passed around signed, stamped and a few more photos taken. Time to get out of here and make our way to the end of the tunnel.
WOO HOO FIND #1000
Thanks darksidelemm for a memorable cache and worthy of a FAV
messages were sent out and was surprised at the amount of ppl that wanted to do this cache.

WOO HOO FIND #1000
Thanks darksidelemm for a memorable cache and worthy of a FAV
mine and rod81w 1000th find.
this one has been on the radar as going to be a milestone cache for a while, just what mile stone was the question. rod81w decided it should be a joint 1000th cache. A had to catch up a few finds to rod81w ( ok 141 but who is counting?)
As the finds got closer to 1000 the messages went out to see if any other cachers wanted to join the party. myself, sir_rod81w, 3LG, Tomboy711, Anymules, Kiwiozzi and JJ52 ending up as the team. the drain was entered and while cooler than the outside 36 degrees the humidity increased. I have decided drains are made for short people and the tall ones like me started the hunch back position a lot earlier, back packs didn't help matters. A lot of good art work along the way and less spider webs than I expected. After walking a while we came to the pipe branch and the crawling started ( only very short ). 3lg let the way and did the honours of the photos of us exiting the pipe. the cache was handed around and signed. Even more photos taken and a short crawl back out to add our names to the wall. Then the group decide to head on to the norwood exit and slowly cache our way back to the cars. fav point added.

When rod81w asked me if I would like to come along and celebrate his 1000th find with this cache I jumped at the chance, even recent knee surgery wasn't going to stop me.
And what a great day it was. I thoroughly enjoyed the company of other southern cachers whom I had only known by their caching names and it was good to put faces to those names and make new friends.
This cache was an awesome experience, even if a bit uncomfortable walking along like a hunchback. Loved the artwork and the fact that we were walking underneath the streets of Adelaide. [^] Many photos were taken and lots of laughs along the way.
Congratulations on your milestones rod81w and sir_spectre great effort.
Thanks for the cache darksidelemm.

Wow, it's very cool in here!
We have been looking at this cache for months, and today was the day.The oldest and 3rd oldest tackled it, and probably spent more time photographing the artwork than moving forward. Surprisingly, there was occasional phone coverage as well through the street drains, so we could keep the emergency rescue party updated on progress.
The many spare torches and batteries were not required, although spare charged batteries for both cameras were. Things were fairly well signposted, including the wrong 60cm pipe being marked as such. We eventually came to a pipe with various names written above it - 3LG, Team Astro, Freddo, Liz and Bruce, ttrogg, Doctor Owl, and others. The names, even if not all the owners, wre familiar. We added our humble tag as well. The crawl through the pipe was not too arduous, just a few daddy long legs to clear. Twenty metres or so later, we emerged to find our goal. And... a bottle of chocolate sauce. This would have passed its best before date, so we declined to sample it.
The log book had pretty much dried out since the last find, so we saw no need to replace it. Took nicpop's pathtag, left a couple of other small items.
We continued on to the Norwood end rather than backtrack.
Thanks for the reason to come down here - what a great experience.

Log book still has some space in it but is damp. Sorry, didn't have a replacement with me. Neither TB is present and judging by the notes written in 2014 were picked up by someone new to geocaching and never logged.
Have tried several times to find the final tunnel entrance from the reverse direction but failed. Today I took the described pathway and had my first adventure of 2016. Surprised at how damp the early part was given how hot and dry December has been (and pleased I had changed from sandals to closed shoes before I set out). Enjoyed the art on the walls. Spotted cockroaches, spiders and a large mouse (or was that a small rat?). Found the final tunnel - had spotted that one on previous attempts but hadn't been able to convince my GeoKid to give it a go. Cache in place but almost full of rubbish (so I cleaned it out). Great cache to begin my year with. TFTC it's a great one - another favourite earned.
Had a great time finding this one with a bunch of friends and we met some random people just near the cache. I left a torch in the cache for anybody who needs one, please leave it if you already have a working torch. Fun adventure for sure!
Needed some encouragement from Steffylicious and JaedieMaladie got none from Gwylo Left a magnet, badget, a ball and some crystals. My knees kill.

This cache is awesome. It takes you on a journey through a city under a city. Everywhere you can see signs of people who where here before. I wondered why people come down here if not for geocaching. Anyway, it was an adventurous walk along the 'river' and the end was just crazy. How did you come up to go there? Thanks for this adventure. Greetings from Germany.

This is one of my favourite places in Adelaide.
Was pumped as when I found there was a cache in here. Very smart and demanding spot!
I left a few presents for future explorers.
Thanks SO much for the cache!!!!!!

I would recommend a head lamp, as crawling with a dolphin torch is pretty difficult!

This cache is certainly an adventure and one that I prefered for Brucie to enjoy without my company talk of rats, cockroaches and wading in water in confined spaces ensured I had something more pressing to do. Brucie had the company of our nephew, Goons two and luckily SEMIK was happy to act as a guide and with a nice bright torch the cache was found without any drama but lots of fun. Fav point alloc. Thanks to darksidelemm for placing this cache.
What an epic adventure!
Grabbed another willing member of the Foo Crew for assistance to do this before heading to the stadium today.
Wet feet was pretty much a done deal, but with only about 10cm it wasn't s big deal.
It was surprisingly warm and humid down there, the day had started chilly so we wore long sleeves (good for the final) and we're feeling the heat.
We had several light sources with us - bring as many as you can! We missed several key landmarks and managed to land in open air before realising our mistake and returning.
The only landmark I really noticed was the "step" - but that wasn't on the list...
Printing the instructions really helped, as we didn't have to keep scrolling through stuff on our phones. Final bit was a squeeze and harsh on bare knees but we made it!
Thanks for the great expedition - TFTC!

This is the best way to celebrate our #800 finds !!!! A really nice group of cachers + a muggle, we started our adventure guide by Ride the Geowalrus (he is a legend) too much laugh, art, darkness a creepy animals and more more more, pictures for the memories and even a video with a night visión !! Happy to have done it Gracias FTFun and yes I'm glad I'm short
Owl heard about this cache from the CO at a gliding camp in the Flinders Ranges shortly after she had started caching. Being adventurously challenged she immediately decided that was one cache she was never going to find. Then she met RidetheGeoWalrus, but missed the last 2 expeditions due to other commitments. However, she was determined to make it this time, along with 13 other adventurous souls which meant she couldn't chicken out! The count was 2 rats, 1 cockroach, 1 spider and some smells she really didn't want to identify, which were actually fewer than expected. Her shoes turned out to be waterproof and her head scrapable, but the knee pads came in handy for the final assault. Thanks for the adventure. If Owl could also award a favourite point to the awesome expedition leader she would, but one for the cache will have to suffice.
Set out on a group assault to find this one. A couple of rats and some mice kept us company, and we even had a "dark" pause when we all turned off our torches, and sat and chatted for a while in complete darkness. Some amazing graffiti here too! So happy to be able to stand up straight at GZ. A gopher would have come in handy in here!
Loved the trek, and the company I was in tonight. Left a pathtag, and a favourite from me too. TFTC.

First time Caching for a while due to my busy life. Teamed up with a group of Cacher's to tackle this one! Great company and a great adventure! Few Rats that made my muggle friend scream, and the occasional cockroach, but no zombies or sewer monsters or anything like that. The artwork down there is AMAZING!! Took my night vision camera to shoot some footage for FTF TV as well. Loved climbing up the smaller tunnels to GZ and signing the log. One of the best adventures I have had in a while. Thanks to everyone who came along!

We were invited by Ride the Geowalrus to go urban caving. The exercise turned out to be bigger than Ben Hur. Peter carefully managed us and we all had a great time and knocked off problem caches. Thanks so much for taking the time to be tour guide once again so that we could enjoy this experience!
Wow! Did we have fun in here. There was shallow water at the start that had a perfume all of it's own! We were greeted by rats who ran around thinking something like, "Holy *(&^T$% Batman. Where did all of these monsters come from? I'm getting out of here. Oh look! There is a crack in the wall that I can scamper into!" We stopped every now and then to admire the works of art on the walls. The shorter ones among us had it easy when we got to the areas of low roof. It was so interesting crawling up the cement pipes to see what was at the other end. Sitting in the total blacker than black darkenss was also a highlight. We had a blast!
Thanks darksidelemm for the cache. We had a great nighty.

I was a bit worried about entering the bowels of the city i came some what prepared even had an extra pair of clothes and shoes glad I did as there was a bit of water around at times got see some great street art with vibrant colours and a photo op for the 3 TBS that were along for the trip one was to be his final spot with us for the time being although very dark at times very little creepy crawlies around or furry things which was great so with muddy knees and soggy smelly feet we headed out thankyou to Peter for organising this and thankyou 3LG for having me along TFTC TNSL
After an earlier false start due to unseasonal rain, the agreed hour of the expedition approached. Waiting at WP1, it was pretty easy to tell those arriving for the nearby party and those arriving for the underground expedition. In dribs and drabs we arrived and gathered while our guide ticked off those who were expected. With preparations complete, our motley crew of cachers and muggles set off with both trepidation and dry feet. Unfortunately the former lasted much longer than the latter!
With the ceiling moving ever closer, Pirate Pete realised that karma was finally getting her own back for all those ladder caches retrieved on tippy-toes. Most certainly a cache better suited for those more vertically challenged! Passing twisted murals and other underground oddities, we eventually arrived at the last hurdle and began our preparations for the final push.
Greeting a surprise visitor at GZ, we easily found the cache amongst the remains of the slayed spider and the log was signed by all. After some posing for pictures and further signing of walls, we split into two groups for the return to the surface world.
Thanks to Peter, darksidelemm and the rest of our expedition for a great evening. One of those unforgettable caching experiences and a fav point from me. TFTC!

Finally had a chance to bend the back, play in the mud, scrape the knees, meet some new cachers and grab this one while out doing some urban caving caching tonight. TFTC.
Such an amazing place!!
We arrived at GZ to meet mostly new faces and a few familiars amongst a small group. Heading underground, the tunnel was much bigger than we had imagined. There was so much to take in, so many awesome pieces, but we also had to keep up with the group. Luckily it was mostly dry! Apart from was one tricky spot, where we had to skip over stones, trying to keep our dry feet… but that didn’t last long!! eww… red has wet socks, lol!! Then the tunnel seemed to go on and on and on… was it getting smaller… like willy wonka’s hallway… or is it just an illusion? The last little crawl revealed the cache and the log was signed :c) Wish we had a texta….
Heading back, we spilt up, with most choosing the Norwood exit. We decided to retrace our steps, to have a closer look at the aerosol art and take some more photos :c) Such an awesome experience and adventure! TFTC darksidelemm and badooleoo!! Thanks also the RideTheGeoWalrus for bring a great guide :c)

Back again... we were here December 2013 but when we heard there was another urban caving group heading into the dark depths again, we thought "why not"? [^]
The dry entrance was deceiving, the first time we did this there was a bit of water around the Hackney entrance but it was reasonably dry throughout the drains, not this time. The lowest point (drain arch) was almost a pool and unless you had gumboots or waterproof shoes on... you WERE going to get wet feet and probably wet ankles too. Seems to be more water throughout than there was back in 2013. After 5 minutes of hunching over the back begins to ache but I didn't see a single cockroach. I dislike roaches & spiders & creepy crawlies and the webs seem less. The closer we got to GZ the more it smelt "disinfected" or clean... if that is possible in a drain??? There was a distinct odour but it wasn't terrible so that was a bonus. Myself (Mrs 3LG) & JMMinions had slowed up to take photos of the bright, sometimes quirky graffiti. We had no need to be concerned that the group had disappered into the darkness, we could still hear them!
Caught up with the group while redRONSO was capturing the "Queen" shot, cool pic Everyone had finished the official logbook signing except one, so back down the rabbit hole for JMMinions before we started the journey out. Last time we did this there was a shuttle service taking drivers back to their cars, this time we all walked back. made a slight detour from the pack, grabbed another couple of caches along the way & enjoyed a pleasant walk back. Cheers to Peter for once again organising this group and of course a big thanks again darksidelemm for the adventure and the cache

Loved this adventure. Small spaces are not usually my thing but when it's tried and tested I'm happy to give it a go. The street art was an added bonus!
The instructions were helpful and the cache was found with relative ease. There was some water around for the first little while so I was glad I wore my gumboots. And there was mud in the last side tunnel into the cache which proved to be an added obstacle.
Continued on to Norwood. I was curious to see where the end was, and keen to walk back without stooping.
Thanks. A great adventure. Worth a return visit.

Wow. And again wow.
Grumpi68 and I met up today to try three challenging caches. This was the first of the 3. What a great day
A bit of surface water at the start had us a little unsure and enabled Brad to find one of those holes the CO warned about.
A few hundred metres in and we found the water was coming from a side tunnel. By then we had waded through enough to not need any more to keep our feet wet.
So much graffitti. Some is very very good artwork. We stopped for multiple photos.
And the glassware on the shelves???? Candle holders maybe?
Wish I wasn't so tall! Back aching a bit. Ah a place to stretch. Graffiti here says "Freddo stretched here". We take this as a good sign that we are on the right path!
But..we were not sure which side tunnel at first pass and ended up reaching daylight in Norwood. Took the opportunity to stretch the backs and then bent over to return.
Tried a smallish side pipe but after 7 or so metres it went around a bend and a straight narrow pipe reaching out of sight loomed ahead! At least 50 mtrs long and we were not able to see an end. Already felt very wedged in so we decided this was not the right one, or if it was we'd be logging a DNF!
Backed out and continued on.
Now there's another one. Look at the familiar names here!! How did we miss this the first time? Hands and knees again. Oh, a red-back spider just ran over my hand! Oh, the mud in the pipe has turned into two inches of water. Maybe it will drown the spiders! At least our knees can't get any wetter. Opening ahead. Good to stand again.
And there it is. The cache is seen and opened. Log signed. Looks like a great place to drop a TB picked up in Iceland on a recent overseas trip, so TB drop.
We wandered a bit further down the side passage. Maybe there's another way out?
Errr no.
Back into the pipe and the water. No redback this time.
The bending over main passageway feels quite roomy now. But we'll still stop a few times to rest the backs!
Finally back at the Wine Centre. A young bloke is trying to convince his girlfriend to come in to see the graffiti. Is this a version of "come up and see my etchings" we wonder?
We warn them both about the water increasing up to a few inches deep and wall to wall. From her face it is pretty clear no-one is going to be showing her their etchings today!
Our work here is done.
On we go. 2 more caches planned. To explore a gold mine and then to try to find a Big Kahuna
A big favourite point.

09.11.14 just the title states, it is dark in here, found with brad&janet was well prepared with torches and old clothing to get down and dirty, did take the wrong tunnel but soon worked it out, the artwork down there is impressive, on the way out met a young fella who was attempting to get his girlfriend to try the tunnel but when she saw the colour of us upon exiting she soon changed her mind, thanks for the cache well wirth the effort
Acted as Sherpa for Malco! and went 9/10 of the way there. Little bit more water under foot than my previous assault. I still wonder what the people on the surface must think when they hear voices and can't see anybody.
What an adventure, travelling ‘neath the streets of Kent Town. Much more room than I expected, although tall folk may end up with a cricked neck. The graffiti adorning the walls is quite amazing, and the lounge rooms along the way imply the occasional secret meetings and the Famous Five.
Journeyed here with Tiger Muffin, who provided guidance plus a safety net (just in case). Discussions of hypoxia and other risks made event even more chilling. There was about 100mm of standing water in some sections, although Tiger found the occasional pothole and decided to splosh through regardless of the depth, while I considered the discomfort of wet shoes for the rest of the day and tip-toed through these sections.
Plenty of evidence of past cachers with the addition of helpful notes. The last 20m or so are the test on whether you are claustrophobic, but in true caving style, it opens out into a rather large chamber albeit quite humid due to the lack of true ventilation. Here you find the shrine of the cache.
A great cache. Thanks darksidelemm & badbooleoo.
One more tick on my D/T grid and only one to go.

Checked up on this one with Badooleoo and Laighside Legends.
The travel bugs listed were not sighted, may have been taken by other underground visitors.
Cherry Ripe is still there, and someone has recently decorated the area with some chocolate sauce (no, that's not a euphemism, they wrote their name on the pipe with chocolate sauce. Reports on the state of the sauce over the next few months would be appreciated.

See attached pic for the current state of the chocolate sauce. The cache logbook dates the 'artwork' to 26/9/2014. It certainly smells a lot nicer here now than it used to...
OZ MEGA 14 WEEKEND. Our first Oz Mega Event, our first cache in South Aust (6th Aust State). We were a little overwhelmed with the sheer number of caches available, and the number of activities and competitions. We decided that we would focus on those special caches that we don't see many of in North Queensland, we would go for the magic 200 caches in a day, and we would try and tick as many of those D/T combinations that were still outstanding on our matrix.
# 986 WOW. What a cache. We bought head lamps especially for this cache. It was one of our highest priorities for this weekend, and we loved the adventure. T-bone made easy work of the walk in, but Champs suffered with the constant bending over. Navigation was easy, but the odd car hitting manholes made for that erie sound echoing throught the tunnels. Finally we found the tunnel we were after and after a quick scramble we had the cache in hand. Who left the Cherry Ripe? Signed the subsequent log wall on the way out.
Signed log and returned all as it was. Wish we could give this one multiple favourite points. Another D/T ticked off

My most memorable cache yet. After a couple of scheduling issues, Shakyamuni72 and I finally made it down here. WOMAD played havoc with parking but we got there in the end.
Very cool location, I haven't been there before. Cracked some Pennywise impersonations, took some sweet photographs. The art was awesome, the glowsticks my geopartner supplied made me feel like I was Lara Croft :O and the challenge to see how far we could get with no light made my heart race.
Retrieved the cache, dropped off a travel bug I have been saving for this cache and found a short cut exit! Exiting the drain felt like a heist (won't go into too many details) and topped off an already awesome experience.
Thanks for the hide Shame I can only favourite once!

What an interesting walk in through all the various tunnel shapes. Not sure my back enjoyed the last 1000 metres of walking like the hunch-back of Notre of Dame. We had to take regular stops at covers to enable standing and stretching, before finally arriving at GZ.
Cal on the otherhand enjoyed the walk and laughed at all our misfortunes. He is 8.5, and is tall for his age, but still have a few inches clearance above his head - although I ended up making him carry the backpack with water in (not that we needed as much as it was quite pleasant in the tunnels, despite it being 42 degrees above.
Bek was quite brave but did start to feel a little closed in with only the torches providing light.
Arriving at the small tunnel Cal went in with the others to sign the log whilst I stayed out to reassure Bek - although like all others before us, we did add our names to the outside wall.
Headed back out Bek led the way as she wanted to see the sun quickly, and the walk out didn't seem to take as long. Just had to resoak our feet in the big puddles near the entrance.
Dropped in some travellers, but they were taken by the others rather than being stuck inside, before eventually saying our farewells so we could return home to wash the stuff out of our footware.
A great little adventure for a hot hot saturday.

Gotcha!
I wish it were possible to claim an extra half terrain star on this one for people over 6 feet tall. That would be 2 out of the 3 Z's in the party of 8 that decided to brave the humidity of the tunnels on this 41 degree day.
It really would be dark in here under normal circumstances, but with 8 torches, it was lit up like a freeway!
Thanks darksidelemm
ZZzz..
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.” - Terry Pratchett
This quote holds very true in the depths of these tunnels. A lack of light is quickly overtaken by darkness. The Resistance group of 3Zs, 3Calumphers, a Tiger and a Frog Sherpa ventured into the depths of first creek in search of the cache. We started walking quite freely with only some wet feet to worry about. Soon after, the roof came down and we walked liked hunchbacks towards the prize (the smallest Calumpher was loving it - wondered what we were all winging about). Eventually, the approach became an all-fours job. The Tiger pushed through, cleaning out the cobwebs, assorted rubbish and cockroaches at the same time. Eventually, a small crowd grouped around the ammo can to sign the log. A ceremonious dumping of a TB and we were soon pushing back through to the main tunnel. A short time later we emerged back into the 42C air and sun. TFTC darksidelemm.

Found in the big group but forgot to log it, had a great walk with some great art. Would love to have been about a foot shorter but can't have a nice easy wall all the time. Thanks to all who made it fun.
Stopped by with a few friends (both new and old) and dropped in a few swaps for future finders!
Wow, what can I say but thanks to Peter a group of us had a fantastic couple of hours walking the area and locating a cache.Yes it was dark in spots but with 15 odd torches shinning it was well worth the trip.
Not as much mud as was expecting but this advnture has fuelled me for more of the same.A fav point from me .

Now this is MY type of cache : ) brings me back to my childhood adventurous wild side being in dark creepy drains, only saw some cockroaches but would have love to see some freaky stuff, with the side tunnels it would have been funny to see someone go up ahead and scare people as they approached (my mean side coming out there) even at the final location me plus gillie suit hmmmmm when is this one being done again did you say ? LOL, it was a great adventure and i look forward to the next one. TFTC
Ok so this was a mass event with people I hadn't met before and some I knew well!
Muggle partner even came along too but sometimes being over 6foot tall is not a good thing
I had so much fun here and while I resorted to knee pads, I did make it to GZ to replace the cache after someone else had locus cache'd it
This place is amazing... the colours, the twists and turns, the noises, the cockroaches and apparently even the rats
I had a blast doing this cache and I have a funny feeling that I may get back here again, too....to the utmost dismay of my 20 year old muggle son [:o)] who gave mum the 'be safe, you shouldn't be doing this' lecture before we left home.
Just to add to the fun and excitement was the fact that when logging this cache find, I realised that it has crossed off one more square on my D/T grid

Wow, I was really excited about this event & was impressed with the amount of people that turned up.
We had an interesting group of cachers & cavers who came along for the walk. We had plenty of short jokes and other noises to pass the time while cache was retrieved and taken back (thanks Mr Flipper).
Took a few days to iron out the cricks in my neck, but was well worth the hunching over & admiring the underground art gallery. Thanks Peter & friends for organising the event & darksidelemm for the cache.

Mr. Flipper needs to add in his notes, he went on the excursion... while Mrs. Flipper placed out some more Munzees
