We arrived in Surat in the middle of the afternoon and worked our way around the eight caches that we had chosen to look for. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of a well constructed and presented cache.. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks doscrapbooking for the cache.
Ran across the bridge to get here. No one coming in traffic thankfully. Off to check out the corduroys now. TFTC.
Didn't have much dust to drop but did manage to find the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find after we returned to this one. Came out earlier this morning and a truck was parked very close to ground zero so decided to leave it until later in the day. Have now completed all the Surat caches. TFTH
A quick park and grab to stretch our legs on our drive. Thanks for adding to the entertainment and TFTC.
bunadoorian came here and decided to stretch our legs here after leaving our motel very early this morning. TFTC and for brining us here - jpgordo.
JACS and I had hatched a plan a while back to book leave for a road trip out west and to attend the last QOGM. Today was the first big day Dalby to St George with me collecting a swag of oldies JACS spread has! Still managed a few for her and an awesome day in the truck together! We have some stuff to dust off!
I haven’t visited Surat before, so it was good to see a new pieces of the Queensland countryside and of course grab a couple of caches. Located this one with ease, cache signed and replaced as found.
If any cachers find our caches need replacing or repairing would you please do do. The j in jpgordo has dementia and I find it hard to get around these days. Much appreciated

Heading in to Surat Van Park for 3 nights. Looking forward to checking the town out TFTC
A quick stop to shake off the dust and I was on my way. Thanks for the fun jpgordo
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, outback Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
Muggle free, this time. Quick find.

Slowly working our way back to Cairns after attending Qogm 2022. Did your PARTHENIUM DUST OFF today. 20 October 2022 11:46 am Tyfc jpgordo total caches now 5944 .
I’m off on my annual 6 week adventure and it is back to Outback Queensland to finish off what I started last time but got interrupted along the way.
It is nice and quiet on the roads this morning and I’m now in NSW and the weather can only get better to what Melbourne is at the moment.
It was time to leave Surat and head to my next destination which is the Muckadilla Bup (if you ever go there you will realise my spelling).
A couple of trucks were on the side road doing just that but they weren’t bothered with me in what I was doing there.
Thanks jpgordo TFTFC

It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. After an amazing drive up Canberra - Narromine - Cunnamulla - Blackall - Winton - Charters Towers - Townsville. We had a blast at the main event. Now it is time for the trip home - with the plan being chances to explore Bowen, Rockhampton, Emerald, Roma, Lightning Ridge and Dubbo. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone in the region for the top quality caching. Appreciate your efforts.
#13556 - 8:25:00 AM; Day three of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune and after spending the night in Surat, set out to collect the local caches before heading further afield. It would be a long day on the road as we added counties to our caching maps. The many places visited included Roma, Muckadilla, Wallumbilla, Jackson, Taroom, Theodore and Eidsvold and on to Mundubbera for the night. A quick pick up as we headed north for Roma. All caches were found in good order unless otherwise noted in the logs. All logs were signed L.L10n and Sdl or vice versa. Apologies for the largely generic logs [:o)] TFTC jpgordo
Day 3 of a road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today we drove from Surat through Roma, Muckadilla, Wallumbilla, Taroom, Theodore, Eidsvold and Mundubbera were we finished for the day.
Lots of different caches found, all without any major issues. We dodge the floodwaters around Surat although the bridge is certainly under threat of going under in the next few days.
Thanks to all caches owners. Most logs were signed SDL / L Lion.

On a drive from Roma to St George and back today with the youngest stortigirl. Lots of great views, history and caches enjoyed by both of us along the way. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches for us to enjoy!
We are on our way back home, but doing detours for areas where we hadn't been at all or long ago.
Surat is such a place, and we found out: a wonderful little town.

No weed in this vehicle! Maybe some tea in the form of a drink!
A nice quick find and then back on our way.
Today’s trip saw us travel from Roma to St George as we work our way to Cunnamulla from where we will launch our journey back to Victoria. We picked up a range of caches designed to. Real up the journey and had a mini tour of Surat. A short day travelling and some good sightseeing and caching.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches to enhance our travels.

TFTC. With pen in picket and phone in hand I told my non- geocaching husband I’m going for a walk. He was oblivious to my reasoning for the walk as all tools of trade were hidden. Lol. I walked from Fisherman’s Park to here. Only 1.4 km. I kept to the far side off the road. Luckily there was very little traffic. This is my last cache for Surat as we are heading south tomorrow. I love Surat and the campground. Didn’t a bit of money in town to say thanks for the campground. The butcher was awesome. But your beat from them if you are passing through.
FYI I walked from Fisherman’s Park to all the caches I found in Surat expect the one in the park that I found 2 years ago on the way up to the cape.

I really should check before I post. I spent a bit of money in town and the meat from the butcher was awesome.

Nice little caching weekend Beaudesert to Nindigully on Friday night, exploring Thallon & St George on the Saturday, then Nindigully back to Beaudesert vis Surat, Meandarra & Dalby. Had a blast, found all but one cache, and cleaned up the map a lot. 11 down, out of 26, All caches were either stamped or signed with either RC13 or Rogersclan13 depending on space.
Pathenium is a huge problem out inn the country. Travellers, be responsible please! Also a good opportunity to give your car a rinse off.
But I digress. Nice easy find, the cache and log had clearly been very wet at one point but all dry now. The log was almost full.
Thanks for the cache **jpgordo**

Since we were only travelling from Roma to Surat today, my snuggle muggle was happy for me to make a few quick stops along the way ... and they only needed to be short as all caches were in fairly routine locations.
Thanks for this mini series jpgordo.
Thanks for this mini series jpgordo.
Today was a meander to Surat for caching and sightseeing. There is a giant aquarium in a Council building and lots of other interesting things to see Mopped up the caches as best I could Reckon the road between Roma and Surat wouldn’t need much encouragement to flood Forgot to bring my wallet and nice lady happily let me count out silver to buy hot coffee ️ and cheesecake. Must be feeling rusty Enjoyed my outing Hope the bottle trees in the front paddock grow as well as those around this region.

Headed for Surat this morning,
I stopped here in the dropped dust
Here I could read about this pesky week ... again !!
Hmm !! I wonder if there is a 'bird bath' in Surat.
The geomobile needs a wash
Covered in red dust ... again !!
I found the cache where it should be
But it looks like it has been run over by a road train !! [:o]
A bit of plier work got the logbook and contents out.
I grabbed a new tin from the geomobile,
and reloaded it with a new logbook page as well.
So maintenance done for now
TFTC !!

Homeward bound from QOGM2019 and collecting caches along the way. Stopping for the caches makes the drive go along much quicker. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches and making the trip much safer.
Travelling from Roma to Goondiwindi on the way back home after attending QOGM 2019 at Blackall. Looking for caches along the highways and in towns of Surat and St George. Thanks to all CO's for the placement of these caches - greatly appreciated. Signed the log and placed back where found. TFTC

This is obviously a very bad weed. However all was good with the cache, which was a speedy find.
An easy find by The Marathon Man and pnutbeagle as we continue our holiday trip around Australia - Today we traveled from Roma, QLD to Lightning Ridge, NSW.
This was one of the 13 caches found today - most were easy but a couple were a challenge.
