Last one in the area before heading back to the car. Followed the instructions, and the GPSr, to find my way to GZ and once there had a read of the information board. From there it was into the shed to grab the cache and once again take a seat while signing the log. Enjoyed a drink and then started the walk back. Thanks for this one as well Crack'n'LeeLee...cache all good.
Had a good look, in lots of places. No luck. I'l be back sometime to find it: David
Hmmm lots of space to hide the box. Should I crawl on the ground or use the phone camera to observe the obvious spots?.... I decided on the camera, but still had to go on my knees after spotting it ;o)

Almost needed to take shelter here myself..️ the clue it sure did help find the cache in a fun way..thankfully the weather held off only a light sprinkling which made for a most enjoyable walk.
Nice quick find for us today! Cute cache!! Interesting history here!

So glad this gem is off the main trails as it would be completely destroyed by vandalism. Great to read the many stories and signatures in the shed. One I especially loved was a fellow born in Manchester left £10.00 to his wife and children. Some of the writing so neat, definitely a lost art....unfortunately. This is why I love Geocaching as it always shows me something off the beaten track
from a few years of living in the eastern suburbs of melbourne, i’ve slowly munched my way through much of the good-looking higher terrain caches ringing the eastern side of the city
there are still a few left
but i’ll save those for a day when petrol prices are astronomic and there’s little fuel left in the tank
for now
the west
the fresh pastures on the western fringes of the city
where the rocks are rugged and the cliffs severe
where all the names in the logbooks are unfamiliar
and where high-terrain caches are bountiful: lerderderg, werribee gorge, beyond
so
we're excited to get started
bring it on

Out on my own today doing some maintenance on picking up a few here. This is such a lovely gorge and very surprised and delighted to see how many people are exploring it. Nice piece of history here on a easy off the beaten main track. Interesting to see the Myers name here. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for bringing me here Crack'n'LeeLee and for the cache.
Lucky last for the day. Glad to take a seat and have a rest. So much love to be had here. Thanks for bringing us here and all of the caches we completed today. TFTC
Out with BogongHazy for a great afternoon's caching.
We made the walk in here from the track, and were amazed that anyone even knew about this shed. Quick find as we laughed at the clue
Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for taking this over from the legend Mudbrick

This was an amazing spot for the structure and we had the place to ourselves for lunch. Enjoyed some sustenance and then followed the hint to the aptly themed container. The zip has become unglued but it is still secure in its hiding spot. A fav from us. TFTC
Well someone enjoyed the show when an 8 legged friend popped out at me and I threw the cache to the ground. Cute hut. Tftc
We’ve had a lovely little four day holiday in West Melbourne, finding caches and visiting as many vegan restaurants as we possibly can. The whole trip was planned because we’ve never been to Werribee Gorge or Lerderderg and they both looked like they offered fun bushwalking with plenty of caching opportunities.

After finding the log and signing, I walked halfway back and realised I left my hiking poles behind. Good place to visit twice

The uphill sections to this cache from the parking spot next to the river certainly got our blood pumping.
Nice shed here, you probably wouldn't spot this little track without a map or geocache pointing there. So a little odd that it had an explanatory sign. Nice views from nearby, thanks for the cache.

What a great little cache! Nicely hidden in a unique spot. Was expecting a harder search so was surprised how long the cache has lasted without being muggled since it was last replaced. Clearly not the most touristy part of the gorge. Tftc
Out on a perfect day for a walk with team Crack "n" LeeLee, our aim this visit is to collect caches along the circuit walk. This is a very interesting location and well worth the visit. TFTC
Pretty cute cache.. just makes me wonder what other shenanigans reg and Marnie got up to in this shed.
Okay so this is definitely one of those oh wow moments which I definitely steely would not have come across without geocaching. To think that trail I walked in on was actually an old cart track is amazing. To picture people bumping their way through here in an old cart would have been rough. Thank you for showing me this amazing place of history. I will definitely bring my girls up here. Excellent theming on the cache also

After a nice couple of days in Ballarat the geowife and I decided we should stop and do some caching on he way home. Geowife picked the spot and off we went. Planning only to do about 2 hours of caching we finally emerged back at the top car park 5 and a half hours later. It was such a fantastic day and the gorge was absolutely beautiful we thought why not just keep going and in enjoy it. TFTC
I was pretty worn out and i was seriously considering skipping this cache. I then thought, there is a good chance I will never come back to this place. So I pushed on and found this one

Today I headed out with the geokids to tackle some more of this trail. I dragged along some newbie cachers today too which was awesome. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed our stroll part way in before turning around and heading back out. Such stunning views! Some fabulous caches too! I love that this track is now closed so very few people come here - one of the things I love most about caching is the hidden gems we find. Also a very sweet cache! Many thanks.
Off the main track to find two more. Quaint shelter shed location with messages from bygone eras. Surely Reg does love Marie. Needed help to locate the well hidden themed cache. FP for the container. CIGC TNLN TFTC 1.03pm
If it's a Mudbrick cache you know it's good and it's there for a reason. What a surprise this was. Even more of a surprise the amount of people that walk in the area that would not know it's here. Sometimes that can be a good thing though.
Arrived at GZ and found the history of The Shed really interesting. We spent some time looking at all the marking trying to find the oldest. Love the old school graffiti. It reminded Crackers of Loch Ard Gorge (Great Ocean Rd) old school carvings in the limestone walls. I'm sure these walls could tell a few stories.
TFTC mudbrick. Glad we have some spare FP's as this one deserves it and certainly should to be found once a month not once a year.

Oh, what a surprise to see such a structure here in the state park. Great to have the new, clean interpretive signs in the area! Sadly, also a lot of broken glass bottles ...
Not wanting to lift up metal sheets (snake season is not quite over, is it?), we resorted to the hint and made a quick find. Nice to see some colourful swaps inside this romantic cache!

After leaving the gang which consisted of McLookers, The Tritonz, Gmj3191, Leafotwind at the multicache Lionhead Beach I then continued further into Werribee gorge and continued on the loop back to the car.
It was certainly a great walk around the area with lots to see and explore.
I followed the trail down to this point and found the shed, I certainly didn't expect to see a structure like this out here and It has been here for a long time, I then headed in and with the help of the clue I was soon in the right spot and the cache was in hand.
**Thanks to mudbrick for placing this cache.**

During an enjoyable outing with PacGirl doing a circuit of the Werribee Gorge we took some breaks along the way so that I could find a few caches.
This was the first of the day, and a great find of an unexpected structure.
Interesting to see this was the CO's first hide - the first of many great caches!
Thanks, Muddy.

A chance to mop up a few stray caches on the circuit walk today.
We walked the circuit widdershins and I suggested to my partner that this cache lay off to our left and possibly needed some off path walking. Downhill? Yes. And we'd have to come back up here? Yes. Perhaps we could just get that one another time.
We enjoyed the rest of the circuit, taking photos and chatting as we went.
Approaching the lower car park, the short circuit path beckoned northwards.
We could go up there, she said. Are you sure? We've got time, she said. You could get that cache, she said.
Some time later... Well this path is just stupid, she said. It goes up and then down, just to go up again. And my knees hurt.
Perhaps you could wait here and I could just nip off the path and get it? Well that's all right then, she said.
The shed was a short bash away. I circled the cache for a few minutes before locating its niche and noting love affairs of the past. Back to the path and onwards to the car. Well worth the effort.
Thanks and cheers!

After finding the cookie jar cache, continued up the trail to the shed. I enjoyed reading the history of this building and tried to imagine what life here must have been like those many years ago. Afterwards, I enjoyed a break from the sun by sitting down and resting my legs. Reached under and retrieved the cache whilst here and logged beneath other finders. Was thinking if I ever needed shelter from the elements, this would be a good place to retreat to. TFTC mudbrick.
A hike with half of Clint&Abby. Looking at the name we wandered down the track and then thought, yeah, the Shed, great name for the cache given what was at the location. Very inventive! TFTC

A full day of hiking and caching with Team Justice. This was our 20th find for the day - what a perfect place to take a seat, and reflect that in my short time as a cacher, I've never before found 20 caches in a day. Nicely hidden in a fascinating spot. TFTC
Fancy coming across a structure all the way up here and to read about the history was amazing. TFTC
This was a great find. Loved the cache placement. The kids thought it was a funny cache. Looks like we will start heading back down the hill.
Somehow missed loading this on my GPS. Oops. Have to mop this one up on another day...
Without my marked map I managed to find the proper way in to this one and read the sign with interest. A good spot for a cache and a nicely created one too.
Well I wasn't expecting one of these in the middle of the gorge !! The info board was quite interesting, but not half as interesting as the writing on the inside walls of the shed. I couldn't believe how long ago some of the names were put there !!! TFTC mudbrick.
This was next on my lone route to finish today's walk. With a post-walk barbie beckoning in town and some way still to go before I could chow down on the bangers, I had a squiz at the hint and had the stash in hand not long after at 15:45.
What an interesting spot in the middle of the bush.

Having recovered our equilibrium after finding another nearby cache, Jacko83, DBelco and I arrived at the shed and began our search. Inside, outside, left, right. Hmmm....GPSrs love metal ! After a bit of backing and forthing, Jacko83 found the cache right where we probably should have looked in the first place! A rookie mistake by us .
Having read the history I now understand, however the shed was a somewhat surprising structure to discover way out here in the bush!
Thanks mudbrick !

Great spot, found by geoMum. We spent a few mins here. Took some more pics of mini beasts before signing our find and continuing on our way.
Found! After walking to the shed a heard some muggles & there were 3 of them. Had a good talk to them about walking different trails, They had done this one before & loved it too. Introduced them to the great world that is geocaching while collecting this one. Think we might have 3 new members soon. A great hide that was easy to find but well hidden.
I took an early start into the Werribee Gorge circuit trail, arrived @ 7:45am with no one else around. Was one of my favourite walks that I have ever done. Some brilliant views, animals including kangaroos & plenty of birdlife.

This is the first time to Werribee Gorge and what a lovely location
tried to get as many caches as possible before collapsing lol
some of the areas were a tough climb but managed to get around 35 caches done in 6 hours,
done a bit of bush bashing while here and came across a few koalas and black wallabies
all in all a great day
thanks to the CO for the cache

Passed a couple coming down the short circuit track, first people seen on the track today... Lucky I didn't do any major damage earlier! Ankle was actually much less painful going uphill than it was on the flat, go figure. Nice structure, who says a simple construction can't last? Snow in November might give some global warming zealots some comfort... Neatly placed. Thanks.
This structure highlights an interesting piece of history, and reading the nearby noticeboard I can't imagine what it must have been like. It was quite intriguing to look at all the different names etched into the walls, some that were placed there so long ago. Thanks for the cache.
The weather today has been spectacular, it matches the scenery too. The incredible wind and rain was as much a challenge as the terrain as square_pegs and I work our way through the series although the weather would ultimately cut our visit short. I really enjoy visiting locations like this...it seems a lot of people do too as the car parks had lots of cars in them. I saw a few Kangaroos too which I always like. I guess I'll be back.
Now this is the sort of thing I really like discovering. It was howling a gale here, the tin was banging and I seriously thought it would get blown away but this simple little structure has stood here for over a century. An impressive written history is etched into every surface inside and it was fantastic to see the names of so many that have stood in this same place as me throughout the last one hundred plus years. Brilliant. A favourite for me and one I will be talking about for years to come.
Thanks Mudbrick.

Another epic run with caching buddy Ahomburg. Today we found ourselves in Werribee Gorge which I have never been to before and was blown away by the many scenic views around the park. Ideal weather in the morning and the wind did get stronger during the day, by good luck we return to the car just as it was starting to rain and then 10 minutes later it was pouring. All up a 10km walk over an approx 6 hour period, with all caches found. Some impressive hides with some good variation in size and type, a fantastic location for caching. By luck we also caught up with gord_0 a CO of some awesome cache in the surrounding areas, will be back to attempt his caches on the other side of the river here.

Well, it was Saturday again and the weather looked like it would be good enough for a cache run with my caching partner in crime Sedgwick Dave. We decided as Werribee Gorge State Park as our target for today, a place both of us have not cached before now. We had a fantastic day, walking about 10km, finding 35 caches, including 28 Traditionals, 3 Mysteries, 2 Multis and 2 Earth caches. A great variation of quality caches in an absolutely wonderful location. We even managed to catch up with gord_o, a CO of some of the caches in the park. A big caching day, so apologies for the generic logs.
Not part of the Wiindows series, but not too much of a diversion. An interesting spot and the cache was found without too many issues.

This location must be one of Vic Parks best kept secrets. We are so lucky in Australia to have free and open access to places such as Werribee Gorge, where one can replenish the soul, appreciate a great array of natural beauty and of course find a wonderful trail of caches. The additional series which appeared a few months ago compliments those caches that have been here for a long time. Fascinating to read about the excursion to this location 100 years ago, we just had to imagine a less overgrown view. Gets a favourite tick for the location and outlook.

The rest of the family were meeting friends for yum cha, but I needed a decent physical challenge for the weekend. One option was to attack another chunk of the Dandenong Meanders; a call from a friend needing help getting her latest furniture purchase to her home in the western suburbs highlighted another possibility: Werribee Gorge.
This was obviously a popular destination within the Park a century ago, when a good shelter could be the difference between life and death if the notorious Victorian weather changed suddenly. We take our cars and good roads for granted.
A nice easy find, and a chance to check out all of the old graffiti before deciding to cut across to the potato patch and take the whole circuit.

Found today whilst here to attack the new wiindows series along with bogonghazy. He'd found this previously, so sat himself down to rest his recently sprained ankle while I searched for cache. He didn't get to sit for too long, before he was up again. Thanks mudbrick, this is the last thing I would have expected to find up here. Trying to imagine all the required materials being carried up at the time it was built. Great spot for a cache, with magnificent views to boot. Cheers, Lisa

Thanks for the cache. Would have never found this place otherwise. Can't believe they did not have this signed from the walking track.
Found with rd_trip today, can't believe this isn't along any of the walks, an amazing panorama and great place to chill. Thought of many classes who have come by and had their lunch here while learning. Would like to come back here to camp for a night! Quick find with the hint, thanks for the cache.
This was a magical place - I took my time with my headlamp reading the graffiti with MadBoy42. Thanks so much for leading me to this place - this is what caching is all about to me.
found this cache with Misselaneius. a great cache picked up the travel bug & will have it on its way soon. TFTGC
1st find of the day, and 3236th total find at 08:52
What a nice plesant walk in the early morning. With cockies screeching overhead and the sun just starting to generate some heat.
We followed the Short Circuit track in a clockwise direction, and then followed the arrow up the valley. We've been walking around the gorge many times over the years, but have never even spotted the shed. The information sign has a lot of information and interesting history.

Found today with Danlop23. Thankfully he got a new GPSr for Christmas & had the day off! It was an ideal place to try out his new 'toy'! (That & I had formatted my TOPO map ~ The whole area was just green!! No cliffs, no river, nothing!!) I did however have a fantastic HEMA map of the Gorge that we managed to lose half way around!! (CRAP)
Getting here was probably the hardest part of the whole trek today! Being an 'old, fat, fella' I was puffing like a fat kid in PE prior to this point!
Incredible to think that this shed is not even marked on any of the walking tracks! Great views from here with a nice place to have a sit, a drink and reflect on things.........
Thanks mudbrick for bringing me here.

After a good hike SnapHappy1 and I found this one. Surprisingly my phone reception was great so as I sat down in the cool shed for a rest I decided to log this one. TFTC!
Found it. I Have walked the George Hundreds of times, and been to the shed often. But I was a Muggle then, now I am older and slower, so it was nice to have something to get me back out there. Thanks mudbrick for a realy good cache. TNLNSL
Parked in the quarry carpark and made my way towards this cache, I lost the track pretty quickly and went bush most of the way. It was great to see such an old shed and everyone's names/dates carved into the metal. I saw some dates from the 1920s, I'm sure there's a few from even earlier.
Found 13:45, after a brief search, a great hide and a pleasant stroll to GZ.
TNLN, CSI=3, thanks mudbrick.

Quick and easy find.
Nice shed hidden away, provided some much needed shade while on the walk.

Walked out here today with Alan. Loved the hike even though it warmed up somewhat.
Really enjoyed the show put on up there, lovely views and was thankful to discover a place that I didn't know about until today despite having been hiking in the gorge many times.
Well done Mudbrick

Saw this one pop up, and Werribee Gorge being one of my favorite walking areas, I had to take the opportunity to have another wander there.
After parking at the Quarry Carpark, I missed the track but managed to find my way through the light scrub to GZ. What a great spot for a cache, so I took the opp to have a drink and a bite to eat while I read the sign. Only 2 years away from being 100, this shed. Thanks mudbrick for another walk here, and I checked the other 3 caches in the park on the circuit before heading home just in time to beat the storm.
