Another puzzle solved a very long time ago and finally made it to the location to make a find. Needs a new log. Was able to find a space to sign but not much room left. TFTC
Was a reasonably busy afternoon after work when I went out to try find more of the puzzled up series which I had solved maybe a year ago. Has a bit of lapse in caching and didn't go find. Today my first find and an easy one at that. Thanks for maintaining this series.
6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Second day, we take our car to visit north of Sydney. Our circuit is planned based on caches selected for their D/T, their installation date, or the PFs received. We will discover fauna and flora different from ours. We will be surprised to come across dragons. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Out caching with oldmorty finding a few caches around the area.
Eventually found in a place we’d rejected. I guess it was because of the spider webs.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Caching with frazeydaze today around the middle North Shore. On the list today were two newish caches, a couple of older puzzle caches and two previous dnf's that have been sitting on my map for ages.
This was the first of the two puzzle caches by EDQ whose caches live on thanks to his friends. Frazeydaze did the hard yards with solving the puzzle and also got her hands on the prize once over coming the spider webs.

Solved over winter, and enjoying the long summer evenings out and about. Thanks Equipe des fous for the cache
Only in Sydney for about 6 weeks and came across this series. I love puzzle caches so will try and complete the series while here. After about a week of pondering, I have 5 of the 9 solved (coincidently, all of the odd numbered puzzles), so am heading out today to try and find them.
This was the last puzzle I cracked of the 5 caches in this series I have managed to solve. That said, it turned out to be the easiest for me to solve. First idea was a winner and there were no sneaky twists along the way like at least one other in the series.
It was the third in the series that I looked for today. Approaching GZ I was worried because there was construction work, but fortunately it was just to the side of GZ, and there was still pedestrian access. After spending well over 20 mins and DNFing on number 7 in the series prior to coming here, this find took around 20 seconds. There really aren’t many places it could be and I went to the first obvious hiding spot on the structure and there it was. After the frustration of cache 7, it was a relief to find this cache quickly.
Many thanks to the original cache owner EDF, and to (I believe) Chuddles for maintaining this series and allowing people who never knew EDF to enjoy their creativity.

I had quite a bit of trouble with this puzzle... but it was just me missing a digit in the numbers. So after I fixed my issues, the puzzle was solved and the cache was in hand soon after. Thanks!
TFTC from the Kayakviking.
Having solved most of this series during the recent quiet period - I needed a walk in the fresh air and decided to pick up a few.
I tried a couple of "obvious" complex calculations to no avail before settling on the easier but correct way to solve !! GZ is nice and easy with some recent roadworks to make it safer.
All good cheers KV

Passing by on the way home from running an errand, and I suspected there would be caches nearby. Having solved this a long time ago I was delighted to see it was less than 200 metres from where I'd pulled over at the side of the road. Made a quick easy find. I remember enjoying this series of puzzles very much. TFTC.
Our first All Puzzled Up!! Still nutting through some at home - brilliant school holidays project! TFTC Equipe Des Fous, a real credit you our little area here xxx
Having solved the series it was time to finally collect. Fairly straightforward find at GZ. Thanks for the excel spreadsheet fun and games tftc
A walk in Kosciusko National Park was planned many months ago for the first week of January, before the now infamous fires were but a spark. As Christmas came and went, and the fires grew worse, I was not aware that fires were also starting in Kosi National Park. A day before we were to fly out the park was closed for a few days due to nearby fires, so with the chance of still going, we headed to Sydney. We waited and waited for the warnings to clear, but sadly this was not to be, and in fact, it has gotten much worse and the closures continued. We were not going to Kosi . While this was an inconvenience for us, our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much worse than us in this devastating event.
We decided to stay around Sydney and Newcastle for the week, and salvage as much as we could of our holiday. We had some great walks, cliff faces, beaches, swims and rocky crags. It was a fantastic time all around. Thanks to all the CO’s for the work they have put into these caches.
Logs were signed as The Bromance for Seffnjarah. CrookedPete, JeznDez and myself to save room in the logbooks.

Over the the past few years, the Bromance (comprising CrookedPete, Seffnjarah, SwellerFungus and most recently JezNDez) have enjoyed road trips, bushwalking, overnight hikes, mountain climbing, kayaking and other adventures in search of some elusive caches. The first planned adventure for the brand new decade was a multi day hike in Kosciusko National Park bagging Australia's highest dozen peaks and all nearby caches.
Enroute to our adventure, Australia's bush fire crisis unfolded, and with the Kosciusko region on fire and closed, our plans gradually morphed to a caching road trip back to Queensland, collecting unusual and rarer caches along the way.
With solved coordinates in ou possession, we stopped to grab this one along the way. Then decided to grab most of the series whilst we were here
Some logs were signed with individual names or initials if log space was an issue, others with "Bromance". Our groups brand new "Bromance" stamp also got it's first use on some cache logs.
Thanks Equipe des fous

My family and I travelled down from Brisbane to Vincentia and Canberra to spend the Christmas/New Year period with relatives. Yesterday my fellow geocaching team members from The Bromance (Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and JezNDez) arrived in Sydney to join me for a planned hike in Kosciusko National Park (ultimately cancelled due to closures by bush fires). The plan was to head to Canberra after collecting them from the airport but the smoke was so bad in Canberra that we decided to spend a few days caching in Sydney to see if conditions improved.
Because of the late change of plans we did not have an organised list of caches to find, instead we identified caches to target on the fly. This was one of the caches we managed to visit as I had solved the puzzle prior to the trip. Logbook stamped with The Bromance team stamp. TFTC

Today we headed back over to East Ryde to collect some more solved puzzle caches, and anything else we came to along the way. This was the 2nd of 5 finds for the afternoon.
The family's chief puzzle solver had been busy working on more of EDF's All Puzzled Up puzzle cache series and the new ones that she had managed to solve were our main cache targets for today, and this was one of them. The puzzles had been quiet challenging and we were all pleased to be able to join in for today's physical cache container hunt.
Parked the geomobile a bit further down the road then dashed back up to GZ for a nice quick find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.
Thanks go to Equipe des fous for the puzzle & cache, and also thanks to the other cachers who have provided cache maintenance on the APU caches following the sad loss of the CO.

Today we decided to hava a look for some of this series. The puzzles had been worked out quite a long time ago and they have sat in the solved puzzles folder since then. We did not have enough time to collect them all today, so chose those that seemed to be more easily accessible than others. Picked up the numbers for the final and each log was duly signed.
Many thanks go to Equipe des fous for this challenging set of puzzles and each individual hide.

Solved and found with Coybear2000. We were visiting family nearby and decided we'd try for this one. Unfortunately it was dark before we left, but we had no trouble making the find. We parked in a side street and made the short walk to GZ. Soon had CIH. TFTC.
On way home from family do with Trodectus. Stopped nearby and walked to GZ, CIH after quick search. Log signed and returned. TFTC
#1778 solved the series a long time ago and this was one on my first solved in the end it was also the first I have found from the series parked nearby and walked to GZ with alnic39 after going to the nearby CITO. it was a quick find but had to wait for a break in traffic to make the extraction.
We signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the puzzle Equipe des fous

From Chudles: Switched the checker to the GeoCaching standard one. Thanks to Baktrak from double checking all the solutions!

OCW MaxAdventurer and AlphaDeltaIndigo, finding a dozen EDF Puzzle caches in the Lane Cove Area, including the All Puzzled Up series. Great Puzzle Caches! Equiped Des focus is sadly missed by the Sydney Geocaching community. I hope his caches remain active for as long as possible. (Please don't log 'needs maintenance' or 'needs archiving'!). TFTC EDF
I've just come from APU #7 (my first find of the series yay) and decided to try this one again as it is close by. The CO contacted me after my previous log (below) just to explain that it had to be moved at one stage but it turned out that even though I'd solved almost a year ago, I had the correct up-to-date coords. Today I made the hide fairly quickly after realising that on Monday I was close but a little bit off. Cool - 2 within 10 mins of each other!
This puzzle was one of the first puzzles I solved waaay back when I became a full member a few months after we started caching. I found the puzzle interesting and fun, and many of the others in the series had me stumped ..and inspired all at the same time. So it seems appropriate that it marks our 100th mystery cache find from our (so far) 431 total finds. Cheers, EDF, and thanks too for contacting me on your own accord. Looking forward to knocking off some more soon.

I started on this series almost a year ago but because we're located on the central coast we haven't really been past this area much. Being #1 in the series, this was the first one that I'd solved.
Out at GZ today (coincidentally just after nabbing GC7D6E Traffic #3 ..which was placed by this CO this morning) only a quick 5min search which, while should have been enough, it couldn't be located. Then, I noticed a recent log suggesting the coords have changed? Whoah what's going on.
So far today 1/3 and the one found was Traffic #3 lol ..go figure. I think I will just move on for now and be back another time once I work out what I've missed!

I spent a while the other night mucking around with the numbers...I probably would have solved in the end but it was slow progress. So I showed it to the teenage whizz-kid geoson. He figured it out in about 30 seconds. The rest was easy- parked in a side street, a short walk to GZ, and found the cache in the obvious place.
After knocking off #4, #3 and #5, we headed here to #1. After a thorough search for about half an hour, we came up fruitless.
BUT...
Unfortunately, I had missed the note about the coordinates being changed. Silly me. I'd had this one solved for two and a half years with the coordinates solved for each cache as personal geocache notes.
So, this one is a DNF, because we'd searched the wrong location! I guess that's a lesson for putting all solved but unfound puzzle caches on the watchlist.
We'll be back soon! Thanks Equipe des fous

SWAG Gang Streak Day #4
Trackables Visited: #0
Trackables Dropped: #0

Trackables Taken: #0
Cache Condition: Great but log is getting full.
Well this is the first cache find using Cachly.
Listening to Geo Hear Heads podcast about the Virtual Caching bag apps we should have and they highly rated this OVER the official Geocaching app.
After solving this last night just off the iPhone, I really wanted to find this before work to keep our streak going (it's day 4).
I switched over all the details, parked in the nearest cross street and headed down.
The cache was found straight away, the cords were out a little (12m) but I can't discount the new app OR the phone playing up.
Took the necessary details and replaced as found.
Thanks Equipe des fous for the puzzle and hide.

I completed all of the required brain straining for APU #1-9 but have never actually used the solved & verified coords to sign any of them - until today! I decided to head out of the office in nearby Epping during my lunch break & find #1 out of 9. I also felt that this was a fitting way to earn the last of the three Missions issued by HQ. Great series ... learnt heaps & enjoyed the challenge. TNLNSL / TFTC

After solving the 9 All Puzzled Up caches, it was time to go out and find the caches and clues for the tenth cache from the series.
Being an IT person, this was an easy one and fun to solve. Finding the cache was not too complicated other than not looking too stupid for all the car muggles passing by. Initially I did not find the cache, but once I looked at it from a different angle, the small cache was spotted.
Thanks for the cache EdF?

Solved it a couple of weeks ago with the geomum who is much more maths savvy, and after a couple of mistakes and a little trial and error, we finally got there. Today with some free time I made my way up to GZ, and after a quick search and a wait for a break in the traffic I made the find. Looking forward to tackling the rest of the series, TFTC!
First find for the day, couldn't find at first, then something caught my eye. Bam CIH
I've been slowly expanding my radius in recent months and the APU series had now started to encroach. It's been ages since I've tackled puzzle caches and I'm certainly a bit rusty! Not sure if I'm pleased or worried I solved this one quickly as while I arrived at the right answer I certainly didn't use the best method! I knew I was right as I had the green light but it took EoF to then explain my answer to me...oops! One down nine to go as I've just grabbed the box which is safe and well on a crisp Monday morning out caching near the Lane Cove river. Cheers!
Had the answer to this puzzle a couple of weeks ago after some help from another cacher.
I found a few caches in this area recently and I don't know why I didn't come to get this one. It would have been a really good idea as it was so busy on this road today.
When the traffic thinned a bit and sped up geopuppy and a poo bag provided sufficient cover not to look suspicious. Walked on a bit then came back and used the same decoy for replacement.
Was there a clue in this one? Forgot to collect it.

This puzzle had me stumped for a while. Through quite a bit of trial and error, and in baby-steps, I finally cracked it. Much rejoicing was had.
The cache itself was refreshingly simple. Managed to grab it without any trouble, or seeing muggle eyes. TFTC!

Thank you for this puzzle and the cache. It had me going for a while until I spotted something very familiar. Thanks for the tremendous hint too. Another of your puzzles completed during my infrequent visits. I wonder where I put the past clues I have gathered for #10? The puzzles are wonderfully varied and they sure keep me working. Like the last entry I parked in a much smaller street and walked. Much safer.

Having nutted out all of the series puzzles on a quiet evening a few weeks ago, this morning looked like an ideal day to go and find them.
This was another cache that needed a short stroll. These are all adding up and I'm well on the way to my daily 10K target. Missed the container on my original inspection but soon returned to this typical hide. Signed log, took note of clue and returned to the car. TFTC

I'm enjoying this series so much that I'm dipping in for a taste now and then to prolong the experience, so picked up 4 more today...2, 1, 5 and 4, along with some caching karma on a sunny Sydney afternoon.
This also solved sometime ago. In fact when I got to The GZ stored in my Gps it took a few moments to work out i was in the wrong place. Quickly recalculated and then moved the car. At the new spot took some time to get a break in the Traffic to get a clean withdrawal. Signed and noted the numbers for the final then waited for a while to get a clean re-entry. Thanks EdF.

Working with these types of numbers helps solve this puzzle, and while not as straightforward as I initially thought, I had recently worked on another puzzle that had a similar approach so the solution was found in due course.
Having solved this excellently diverse puzzle series quite some months ago, I finally mustered up the courage to venture out to the CO's stomping ground to actually find the caches and complete the puzzle series. I had plotted #1 through to #9 on a map to pick a mostly optimal route finding them, and this one was the fifth on my route.
The day was going well, having found the previous four APU caches on my list in quick time. It seems like the local council has decided that cars stopping at GZ is probably unsafe and have errected little white plastic traffic barriers, so I decided to park around the corner and walk back. Easy find once at GZ, it looks like Google Maps may have finally updated with more accurate imagery now.

This was my last find before darting off to work. After collecting no.2, I wandered down here ad I also needed to return to no.3 as I've misplaced the number.
When your walking to GZ, you just know where it'll be and sure enough it was there. With some DNF's on the page, I was concerned I might strike some trouble but can only imagine it must of been placed differently here at that time, months ago, many thanks EDF

Worked out all the puzzles a while
ago over a few nights of geo couching.some were quite hard. And 4 was the most difficult for us anyway. Out today to collect them all after getting the green light for all. No.1...was a quick find.

Worked out the puzzles with dlturner a while ago over a few nights. Some tricky ones but persevered and finally got a green light. Today was the day to go and collect.
So here we go number 1 found.

Let my sisters work it out it's a bit above me, but they let me help on the finds. some where quite hard but I just followed the young ins but I did find one of them no 1 was a quick find.
The puzzle on this one was really difficult for me at first. The format looked familiar but I couldn't recognise from where. Turns out I was completely off base when the answer finally did come to me. Cache itself was easy enough to find. TFTC
Great puzzle to work out, co-ords were about 10 mtrs off but a nice easy find just the same with geo friend Bluewattle. Thanks Equipe des fous and TFTC
Found with Snickersallan, had to widen search as co-ords where out about 10 meters
Solves puzzle at home work age ago, finally make it go today after Event...
Enjoyed series with ALL7, long searched, unlucky then POF for hint, return again re-searched still unlucky..
Maybe tricky... will come back later...
First day of DNF for us... [;(]

Caching with jendid and alphadeltaindigo.
Another jendid, pk search. Couldn't find anything until I checked the logs and found that it had been relocated.. So some quick maths and the new GZ had been plotted.. Once we arrived at the new GZ it was a quick find. TFTC

A nice easy puzzle and a nice easy find. Phew!
TFTC.
We noticed that some of the puzzle caches we have solved have been archived, so we decided to pick up some of the puzzle caches that we have solved but haven't had the time to find.

This was the third of seven finds for today. After finding ‘All Puzzled Up #7’, I continued on to this cache. Although ‘All Puzzled Up #2’ was closer, I avoided it because I am not yet confident with the higher terrain ratings. I was able to solve this puzzle myself and learnt about a new kind of cipher which has helped with other puzzles. I found parking in a side street and after seeing what I was walking next to; I immediately knew where the cache was. However, even at GZ, I had to avoid a spider-web. I grabbed the cache, noted the details for the final cache and signed the log. Upon replacing, I again had to dodge the spider-web. 3 down, 6 to go. TFTC.

Solved the puzzles to this series about a month ago, but I tore my calf and was out of action for a while. It was feeling good enough to head out today, so I knocked over most of the series.
This one was pretty straight forward, my GPS was a little bit off but the hint nudged me to the right place. TFTC!

Together with arbor95 I stay 3 weeks in Australia and planned a roundtrip. For this we looked for some interesting caches. These puzzle serie seemed to be nice to visit, and therfore we solved 9 of them in Germany before we leaved.
Today we looked for the caches at GZ. Some of them have been easy found and some not. But we get them all today. And finally we also get #10 solved and founded.
It was a nice day and we enjoyed the hunt.
Thank You for all the caches and for the the mysterys and for keeping them going.
Greetings to the owner.

First to lose!
As the tattoo on my shoulder says, born looser. (thanks Michael)
Thankfully I still had the coordinates in the phone, so I could find the new spot quickly.
Now I can go and get APU10! oh dammit.I already did.
Thanks EDF

OK so GZ was no longer an option - modifications have been made. The cache was not a good placement and some commented that they felt exposed. So the cache has been moved (within the allowed limit).
If you have already solved the puzzle , add 23 to to the decimal minutes of the southing, and 105 to the easting. Or maybe solve the puzzle again, which has been updated.
The new container and terrain rating is the same. It is exposed to vehicular traffic but no neighbours.

After a short search I spotted it, where it probably shouldnt be, attempting to reach it my fingertips caused it to fall further. If you know the resident you may retrieve it, otherwise a fishing rod with a magnet. Although I am not sure if it is even visible anymore.

I solved this one a while ago now. But this morning I had finally solved all nine and set off to find the clues for the final.
At gz I saw the pole mentioned and the changed landscape and wondered if it had been muggled.
However with a little more searching the cache was revealed.
Log book is full.
Thanks for the challenge.

Third cache knocked off the list with Heathcote & Co.
There was a bit of damage to the surrounds when we arrived which actually aided our search and retrieval. The cache's secrecy is not affected, however (although there was a much more caching-y hiding spot mere centimetres away).

Forget to log long time ago. Found it with Everlasting and skyejam. Thanks for leading us here ????
Stayed at Skyejam place for weekend... the weather was lovely... Have been homework with advice from the owner... real big appreciation for his time... I am real enjoyed the puzzle - something new and never stop to learn (what my mum always said "Never too late to learn" ) It was good fun search, found and signed the log. Thanks Equipe des fous. Fav from me....
What was a good hiding spot, when Everlasting and I looked around for a little while then we read the hint a few times until I realised that I saw the hiding spot then I got it. TFTH Equipe des fous.
At last we begin the final assault on the APU series. These puzzles have been carried around in notebooks, back pockets and bottoms of backpacks for well over a year and been on several overseas trips. When all nine finally had a result that agreed with eVince, it was a joyous occasion. And that was back in February! So today we undertook a few that were geographically co-located.
A cute little two-step puzzle. And an interesting location for the geocache. We walked between four in the series today and the vicinity around GZ was a nice surprise. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

Hmm, not at the structure, that leaves only a few other possibilities? What would be the hardest place to hide? Oh, sure there it is! walked a lot of stairs already today!

653 (241) I looked there last time! My fingers must have come within millimetres of finding the thing. I asked the CO for a hint as to the exact location because I didn't want to miss out on this one again. It's too far from home to come back a third time! I'm quite familiar with this puzzle's format/content so I solved it pretty quickly. Tks EDF!
Found cache after a bit of goofing around sliding on railings. TYPICAL ME!!! TFTC
Slowly cleaning up East Ryde and the APU series is a priority having solved all of them.
GZ was found easily with the help of the hint and the cache was initially not found but after a better look we found it. I'm a bit suspicious of the legality of the placement but seeing as no one else cares I'm happy to say it's good.
Cache is oxidising a bit but doesn't need replacing.
Clue noted.
Thanks EDF for the cache.

Found on Sunday, 23rd February 2014
(Log may be signed as ADI, short for AlphaDeltaIndigo)
GC Buddy for the cache: none
Cache condition: Good.
Log condition: Good
Just before dropping me to the station, JordsAU agreed to help me break my personal record of number of caches in a day (was 13) so we decided that he would take me to the locations of the final caches of the APU series (the ones I had solved) but not walk with me to GZ until he had solved the puzzles.
This cache was a quick and easy find! Although the puzzle is a different story altogether! I asked a muggle engineer how to solve it first. he said he had no clue. Then I opened my 11th grade high school computer textbook and figured out what to do. 15 minutes later, I had translated it and had coords in hand!
Thank you for the challenge EDF!
Cheers

I started working on this puzzle a while ago but for some reason never finished it. I picked it up again at the end of last week but couldn't remember how I solved half of it.
I quick note to CO confirmed I had got the bit I had done right and I soon remembered what I was doing and had a full set of cords pretty quickly.
I decided to tackle all the finds for APU1-APU2 today so I hopped on the bike, packed a picnic and got started.
Once at GZ I took got distracted by the "decoy" but the hot mid day sun meant I had the place to myself and made the find eventually

Second time lucky, after some very specific hints from the CO (thanks). This is a tricky spot to find and requires a bit of blind faith.
Thanks Equipe des fous. The cache is in good shape. Found at 8:24 am.

Had a thorough search of lots of possible hides but didn't find the cache.
This was one of the last puzzles that I solved in this series. It took ages just to get the hang of it but once I saw the pattern the solution came quickly.
Today was the day of mixed fortunes. My son and I searched for six caches in the series and had a 50% success rate. Thanks Equipe des fous. I searched but didn't find it so this cache is a DNF for me. Turned back at 3:47 pm.

Hit the abort button on the first APU foray due to a birthday party at the adjacent house. After a bit of a search I was ready to log a DNF as I couldn't believe it was there and felt we had hung around long enough in the neighbourhood - a bit of a problem taking the geofamily to these sorts of locations! Geoson insisted we keep trying... relunctantly I returned to the spot and made the find immediately, very glad we did as we are now one final piece away from #10.
I thought the puzzle was pretty easy, but finding the cache was another matter. It was dark (but too close to ignore, having found 3 other APU caches today) and I thought there were only so many places too look. I probably spent about 30 minutes looking around GZ, trying not to use my torch too much as it's a suspicious place to loiter. I'm keen to try to complete this series so will hopefully be back in daylight.
I had a really good afternoon today, mostly looking for some of these puzzle caches. Even though I didn't find this last one I very much enjoyed the walk back to North Ryde Station, through the dark and the cool air! Good stuff. Thanks again Equipe des fous!
