After spending a very windy night camping out at Cooyal Hall, we started our return journey back towards Sydney, we were heading off the main roads to clean up a heap of caches that need a bit of effort to get to.

Easy find thanks.

Found on the 22/11 on our way to mudgee. It was my first time along the rd. It was so pretty. Beats driving along main rds. The rolling hills were amazing! Look forward to going out again to collect more caches.

22-Nov-17
this one was the last one planned before lunch in mudgee however now we are here its actually nearly beer o'clock so it will have to be the last one before we reach our destination at Ballimore. sad really but not the end of the world; I really have to remember to pack a picnic lunch on these journeys. my stomach would feel more appreciated then. this was a pretty place but had a slight dead animal odour that wasn't so pleasant. tftc buggerme

14153. Found during a run through the Bathurst to Mudgee region this long weekend.

Having completed the southern part of TRLT series last month I had the northern part of the series on my radar for this long weekend - plus as many extras as there are along the way. Leaving home this morning I was caching before lunch on the outskirts of Bathurst heading north. All but two of today's caches were found and all were nicely hidden with good sized containers. This was the next and last find for the day. Getting dark now so out came the torch. Quick find at GZ . Log signed, cache replaced, and I headed off to Mudgee to find somewhere to stay.

Thanks to all the COs for their caches - it was a great run up through this area.

TNLN - TFTC !!

### Trip to the bush ###

Day 1
We started our trip in Rouse Hill towards the bush region of New South Wales.
Our first stop was in Springwood where we took a little bush walk and found this letterbox in the middle of the bush. We then visited the geological sandstone attraction and informed ourselves about the geological features of this region.
We then continued our trip towards Katoomba where we enjoyed the breathtaking view over the Blue Mountains at Echo Points. We took a little walk and reached the 3 sisters form the originally 7 sisters. Now it was starting to get dark and we continued on to the town to look for a couple of more caches before finishing off the day.
Day 2
At early morning, we relaxed once more for a little while longer at Eco Point before we continued our trip towards Blackheath and Mount Victoria.
We had a little break at Lake Lyell where we visited the dam and had some snacks.
We then continued towards Ryell and high up to Mount Lambie where we were lucky to spot many animals again.
We left the main road just before Bathurst towards the quiet countryside past Peel, Wattle Flat and the historical Sofala. We had a coffee break at Sofala where we drove around the old historic town.
We then continued our drive on Hill End Road and we socked in the beautiful nature. We were lucky to see many animals on the way.
We were welcomed by many roos at Hill End.
We left Hill End and drove towards Hargreaves towards our night stop at Windeyer. We slept at Bushland Tourist Park once again in the beautiful train accommodation. We had dinner at the local pub where we had nice pasta.
Day 3
We had to first free the car from all the ice before we could start our trip towards Mudgee. It gets cold out there at night, around -1 degrees.
We drove towards the west to Wellington and Stuart Town, Mumbil, Dam Arthur and finished the day in Dubbo.
We were astonished by NSW untouched nature and beautiful wildlife.
Day 4
We started the day with a little trip outside of Dubbo’s bushalnds.
We then strolled around the city of Dubbo and visited the beautiful Botanic Graden of Dubbo. The Gardner’s put so much work into maintain this beautiful spot. Well done.
We started the trip home towards Sydney past Wellington, Mudgee and Portland.
We drove past the Mt Piper Power station and informed us about the tours.
We continued towards Sydney.
We hereby want to thank all owners for all the work you have done in maintaining the caches. You have showed us many beautiful and also many hidden spots which we wouldn’t have found without the caches.
Thank you

#3,410

My original plan for this trip was to head to Windeyer after Hill End, then head on to Mudgee later. We had a slight problem, and had to change plans, so we headed to Windeyer down this road on our way home.

Cache was an easy find.

Thanks Smile

12-Apr-15
We found this cache as part of another of Toriaz's quick little detours on our way home, this time into Windeyer. This was a nice location with hilly pastureland and the sound of crows on the wind, cawing my name. Thanks

On our way to Windeyer for some quad-biking, and a new cache placement, we had some time to pick up this one that has been on the radar for a year. We loved the (bird) shape of the tree down by the willows.

Mudgee Trip 2013. The trip up this road was a detour but I could not ignore it, even if it was on the wring side of the ridge for me. There was a trig out here as well, so it was all worth it. Thanks.

I was headed to Sofala from Mudgee and this cache was on the way Smile
What a great way it was too, far nicer than the signposted drive or the highway Razz
The road to GZ was bitumen all the way Big Grin
I found the tiny parking spot at GZ.
Not hard to do on such a quiet road.
From there it was a very short stroll to find GZ and a 'bucolic' scene Big Grin

TFTC.

PS: NSW country drivers are absolute maniacs !!
Life is cheap around here !!

The caching gods aligned for me on what I must call the perfect cache. A sensational day, great tunes playing, taken on a fantastic drive through great country to a such a peaceful place on earth. This is why I cache and enjoy this hobby so much. Thanks buggerme you have certainly put me on a high and made my day. Without a doubt a fav point for this one.
