Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we decided wed drive in the Lake Ohau area & check out some of the local, to here, caches Mrs McMike2012 had scouted out the Parsons Hill track, which went up the side of the hill, joining with a section of the A2O Bike Trail, which she decided wed walk, while finding the caches on the way this wee track turned out to be quite an up-hill climb but made better by all the Mistletoe thats currently out in flower the cache turned out to be, more-or-less, a quick and easy find, logbook signed & cache was returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN except photos:LN:LS this was #6,552 for us!
No one else on the walk. Nice to take the dog somewhere different. Spotted a Tomtit, see photo & a few piwakawaka. Cache soon signed & returned.
Made my way up to gz & found the cache while Mr Curzzz was way behind changing from shorts to trousers, bless him . Raining, but not hard-yet. Soon found this one thanks.
Quick dodge up the track toward the end of a day of caching with the dog. Beautiful shady walk with the sound of the stream next door
Decided to ride bikes back down to the road to do these caches. Lovely track through the trees but not so suitable for our bikes. All dry easily found. Spent some time admiring the view and the very chatty Tomtits and fantails.
We were heading to Mt Cook for a wee break and of course were caching throughout the area.
We had an awesome time with some brilliant weather apart from only one day where it didn't play ball. Great to see so many awesome caches throughout the area.
Visiting Lake Ohau for the day.

After getting the lower one I decided to have a go at this despite the wind. A few spots of rain at the start got a bit heavier and I had left my jacket on the car. Only 200m or so to go. I upped the sped to a trot and GZ soon reached. Coordinates were not spot on for me but common sense prevailed and the cache quickly found. Get wet and another cache or head down. I chose the latter. Thanks Bitsprayer.
Found this one. A short hike up a hill but I'm going to carry on until the bridge. TFTC
Good god... I nearly died walking up the hill.. got there in the end... what a wonderful track.
After deciding to stay at Lake Ohau lodge last night we are today riding part of the A20 cycle trail up to 900m , down to the old woolshed for lunch and return to the lodge for a second night
Weather is perfect for biking and also taking in the sights.
sorry for all the copy and pastes but need to get my caches logged from Xmas break'

On a very windy day this area was surprisingly very sheltered. Found it easily. Nice little patch of native forest. TFTC
Day 3 of the A2O
First cache of the day, and It was still pretty cold when I hit this one. The GOS seemed to be giving me the runaround, but, it seems it was the trail that was doing that.
Glad I stopped and checkout out the view
Thanks for the cache

A grea walk on this cold day with he misteltoes in full blossom. Thanks for this experience.
Nice walk. TFTC. Great excuse to walk the track rather than drive on by. 2 trackables visited with us, looking for a new cache to hide in.
I contemplated leaving the two caches up here but then when I looked they were so close so of course I couldn't leave them. Very pleased I didn't because I really enjoyed the short walk through the bush to here. TFTC # 12,550
A bit wet today, so onto plan C biking and driving. A nice quick find. Cheers.
KiwiLegend was looking for a partner in crime to find a few caches around Omarama, so I volunteered to join in on the adventure. Had a great weekend, some biking, some canoeing, some FTF, some lonely and a very lonely cache. Thanks KL
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

This is a wonderful path through beech forest. We have the place to ourselves too.
In Omarama for a caching weekend with BCD. We ended up going straight past this at the start of our tramp up towards Mt Sutton. Oh well we can find it tomorrow on our way back down. Alas twas not meant to be and at about 1600 metres in a blink of an eyelid the weather changed and the decision was made not to carry on. A slightly quicker retreat back down (and somewhat sorer and wetter) and with the help of BCD cache was located and slowly signed - hopefully it is readable. 10 hours and about 23km = a dam good effort!!! TFTC
On our way to Freehold Creek for a weekend tramping and had to stop for this cache. Found with AorakiSheep
We were interested in seeing how long this cache had been here so turned to the front of the log. A familiar Nelson name as FTF – nearly 7 years ago. We knew nothing about this track so were pleasantly surprised to find it took us so directly to the cache. That gave lots of time to go on.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It's a lazy day for me today and after sleeping in, I step in the car to go to Lake Ohau. I've been around the lake and now it's time to have a little stroll. It's a small climb to get up here. Thought I saw GZ from far, but ended up 20 metres away from the cache, which was easily found after I checked my GPS. Thanks for hiding!
Found with MrandMrsChosen1978 on our Waitangi Weekend road trip. Thanks for the hide.
Found by mrandmrschosen1978, with Granville86a, while on a road trip over Waitangi Weekend. We started off traveling through Central Otago and on up to the McKenzie Basin exploring Lake Ohau to Mt Cook one day, then we spent another day by heading down the Waitati Valley before heading back down south. As we explored these areas we found this cache along the way. Thank you for the placement and bringing us to this amazing area, really enjoyed the walk up the track
Such a lovely walk up here today. Thanks for bringing me here. The GPS had me going round and round. Gave up on it and eventually found it. All nice and dry.TFTC
DOC is doing an amazing job. There has been so much mistletoe all the way up the track. NINO TFTC
Fefe.adrien and I went to the lake Ohau for visiting. Despite some showers we enjoyed the view on the lake and mountains around.
So quiet in winter...
Easy found for all boxes.
We signed on the logbook with our team name : Lekiprokos

after the big tramping day I'd had coming over from Maitland hut this short walk nearly did me in but a nice quick find tftc
BaldEd and I started off on Section 3 of the Alps to Ocean Cycleway from the Ohau Lodge. I always had reservations whether I would make it or not with my gammy knees.
Seeing that this was off the main track I decided I would go for it but bro decided not to at first but changed his mind after a few minutes.
It wasn't long after this, at the 5.5km mark along, that the pain in the knees was starting to trouble me and I decided to turn back leaving bro to continue to Quailburn Rd. Luckily we had a cachemobile at each end of the track.
Cheers for the cache.

I hadn't planned on seeking this cache as from the maps I had it was off the Alps2Ocean cycle trail. But Tufty decided he desperately needed the smilie. I let him go and rode a short way further up the trail to wait in a shady spot. From there I noted that the cache was only 200 m away and that the terrain certainly looked rideable from where I was waiting. So, I jumped back on my bike and rode past the returning Tufty and stopped when I had only to walk the final 5m to the cache. A quick sign of the log and I caught back up with Tufty as he was about to remount his bike. I treat this as a bonus find for me.[^] TFTC
Auf einem Abenspaziergang von der "nahen" Lodge hier vorbei gekommen um diesen Cache zu suchen. Es hat geklappt und das hat gut gezan, an einem Tag mit gar wenig Erfolg beim Suchen und Finden.

We are on the road again!
Today we found some very nice geocaches and enjoyed it to walk along every single trail.

Was a little windy on lake today so decided to do some caching. Took my 4 year old son for a walk to get these 3. Tftc.
12.35: Stretching the legs on this little hiking track up the slope. Didn't take too long reaching the first cache here. Quick find in a place where I would have hid it, too. Some interesting boards along the way.
Weather: overcast, windy, 10°C;
Wheelchair: no, narrow mountain path;
