Oops, I guess it was archived the day after my pocket query got downloaded to the GPS...
As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

I called by today to investigate. Definitely not here as all the trees have gone. It's now a grassy bank.
enjoying a wee drive back to taupo from Turangi collecting a few caches while down for the Mega thx.
Day 8 of our Mega Roadtrip. I didnt know this one had been disabled because it happened after we left home. As it waqs long weekend there was noone about and we saw a grap in the temporary fence so we slipped through to sign the log. Thanks for the smilie
Had a great time at the Turangi Mega caching with Rosmar, Renelm and Indiana Jill aka INTGEO.
Indiana Jill and I stayed on for an extra day to continue the hunt. Also, to avoid the long weekend traffic.

On the way down to the Mega, Philip.Perry and I left early morning and cached our way down to Turangi.
After leaving Taupo, we followed the arrow to the next closest cache. Despite the area being fenced off, there was a perfect gap in the temp fencing for a Philip to fit through and the cache was found and signed.
While I turned my back to such rebellious behaviour, I collected a large pumice rock for a future cache idea.
A good call for disabling it though, so cachers like Philip dont push through into a construction site.
Another nice reserve found while caching in the area. I love finding new places.
Thanks for bringing me here.

This was one of over 60 stops 'Team B.O.P.' would make on the way down to the 2016 NZ MEGA in Turangi. TNXPro and myself have teamed up again with plans to meet Davidsonclan later on. This cache was found quickly but could probably use a new container. Also due to the works in the area and GZ being pretty much fenced off - maybe you'll want to check on this
25/10/2016 Note: I can see this is now currently disabled but as we were working off a pocket query and we were unaware. We were able to complete this cache safely but good move.

**Early 2015 a group of Tauranga based cachers started a [BOP Geocaching Facebook Page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/GeocachingBOP/).
123 cachers currently make up this 'Closed' group where we organise various geocaching events and excursions as well as share information and friendly banter. Please check us out if you're interested.**

Seeing as there will be many cachers at the Mega this weekend, this may need temporary disable due to being in a fenced off area.
Easy find for the kids. Lots of fencing around so not quite sure if we were supposed to be where we were.
After a long walk didn't think I'd get this one as the path was all fenced off from GZ however I found a gap in the fence for a quick find. TFTC.
The day started off really good with the sun out no wind, what a great day to go geocaching with a friend, which it wasn't long before she was hooked and joining up to be a geocacher herself, It was fun watching a new geocacher hunting for caches the excitement when they found the cache is priceless. Thank you for placing this cache here in this beautiful area another great cache spot. I hadn't been here before which also makes it so much more exciting. Now to head off and get some more caches before we loose daylight.
TFTC and for placing it here.

Today was our last day in Taupo and we decided to do 20 geocaches! Despite the rain and the freezing cold, we got them all done! It was a brilliant day and we had a ton of fun seeing all of the local attractions in Taupo.
First geocache of the day! Felt like our fingers might fall off though. TFTC

I grabbed this cache while in Taupo for a short family vacation during the school holidays. Once our boys were tucked up in bed for the night I was allowed out for some night time Geocaching shenanigans. It was bitterly cold and also rained lightly most of the evening. I parked further away than I needed to which was something of a theme for the night but didn't have any problems locating this cache. Seeing as it was pitch black and my little head torch was struggling to light the way I'll have to take your word for it that there is a sandy shore here!
Found while on a short school holiday break in Taupo. Kids and I loved this little beach, and took some great photos here. TFTC.
Braved the rain after having a cuppa. Nice area. Hopefully our next visit will be in fine weather to walk further.
Gorgeous spot. Used to come here as a kid for a picnic and swim. FYI to CO, full of water, and sign page is full. Pretty sure the storm last night was the cause. TFTC
Tftc, one of our last for our caching day out. Thanks for the clear concise clue
Found it while heading in th opposite direction to where my phone was instructing.
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who is staying now for more than five months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
Now the second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Here we go: Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
Of course, even if it is not our main activity during this holidays, we will looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to Malsdad for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

We thought we should have been singing 'Puppet on a String' here! Nice little hide and an easy find. I lost my nice little blue pen near here though
Greetings from the UK!

Staying at the nearby camp with a group of fellow campers and enjoying exploring the area. love the Great Lake walkway, we cycled from 5 mile bay through to town and back, fantastic having this here. Stopped along the way for this cache. Nice quick find. TFTC
We found this cache during our drive towards Napier.
The cache was found easily, and we enjoyed the views.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Portugal.
#9896, Found it with DroidCachebox!
We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 3 - Tongariro National Park to Napier
During the morning we explored a little bit of the national park, did the hike to Taranaki Falls and some other small hikes too; after that we continued our way to the lake Taupo, and our day ended in Napier. It was a long day, but we visited many interesting places!
Thanks for the cache.

Nice morning for a walk down from Five Mile Bay, only a small amount of activity on the track so no muggle worries. TFTC
Off on a big mission to find all the caches from Taupo to Turangi with 11hpg11, kiwis69 and HKCB.
A quick multi after a short walk from the other car park.. oops! Oh well. The views were fantastic. A few muggles picnicking down the way were no troubles.

A bit of a last minute throw together caching mission today for a clean out run through Taupo/Turangi area with 11HPG11, Kiwis69, Kyb3r and myself. We thought we'd forgo our usual meticulous planning and just wing it for a change, though I couldn't help myself and I spent a few minutes working out a basic plan last night. With a 4am start this morning, we had a long but pretty successfull day, with only a handful of DNF's, though I think all but one GPS's had issues today (mine being pretty much useless) and achieving most of what we roughly set out to do and with the bonus of getting home before dark (just). We signed the logs with 11HK693R, a combination of our user names. A big thanks to all the CO's for placing all the hides.
My GPS was playing up again so took the wrong road and parked about 100m from the cache. Once at GZ though we found out that we could of parked a bit closer. A quick find once at GZ.

Out and about on another fun-filled mission with a bunch of Hamilton cachers to pick up as many Taupo caches as possible before our 6pm curfew. Today's caching crew included myself, HKCB, 11hpg11 and kyb3r. We were missing a couple of regulars from our team which was a shame, not least because it meant inventing a new caching name instead of our usual abbreviated caching combo; challenging when our vowel hasn't fronted up! Hence why the log was signed as a bit of a nonsensical mis-mash of our names.
Great to escape the crowds and explore a bit further: another new-to-me part of the Taupo. Parked reasonably nearby and then realised we could've parked even closer: wandered over to the cache abusing HKCB's satnav for making us walk more than 10 meters haha! Lovely spot, followed the hint for a nice quick find by HKCB, Thanks for the cache placement, TFTC

A bit of a spur of the moment caching mission today, I don't think any of us were fully prepared but that is sometimes the funnest way to go... apart from when you have various GPS issues... grrr.. Today we decided to tackle Taupo and Turangi area and try and clean up as many caches as we could before we had to be back home to our families. Our team today consisted of HKCB, Kyb3r, Kiwis69 and myself and we had a few different names through out the day, either HKPG693R or 11HK693R depending on how tired our brains were. An early start, left Hamilton at 4am to make the most of our 'day off'
A great spot that I have not been to before. Parked further away than we needed too, but it made for an enjoyable walk along to GZ. Thanks for the cache

On a trip to Taupo for a week long of solo camping and lots of geocaching! A nice little spot. Glad I went down to the bottom road to find this one as that made it a lot easier. Lots of muggles around so it had to be a quick dash and grab in between them. Time for a swim now.

Georgecale invited me to join her for a day of caching when I'll get to Taupo, and I was very happy to take the offer to meet a local cacher. It was a fun day, with great company - thanks again!
This was a great opportunity to grab some caches that I can't get to without a car (as most caches in NZ are, unfortunately) and see a bit of the surrounding behind a screen of typical kiwi rain...
TFTC from far away Israel.

Travelling Palmy to Hamilton for 5 days. Never been to this part of Taupo & was pleasantly surprised. A quick park & grab then took some photos of the gorgeous lake. Will have to stop here for a picnic when we come through over Christmas. TFTC
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today we drove around the Lake Taupo. Of course some caching on the way. We had lots of fun and saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!

15th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.
JAC found it TFTC, spent last 4 days in Wharewaka - lovely location for family holiday- been swimming, skiing, fishing all lots of fun with great spring weather.
