A beautiful Auckland Anniversary day - what better way to spend the day than picking up some caches in a new (for us) area of the city.
This was the first of our attempts today - we searched a few likely spots, but given a DNF before us, figured it was no longer there.

Awesome weather today. Great to be able to find 1 of the 3 cashes we looked for. Although there were lots of Muggles around.
Great camo, blends in very well with its surroundings. Came caching here today to admire the great views of the harbour and islands

Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
See rebel98 log, a lovely family walk along Takapuna beach continues, I am glad we are not in a hurry. The cars are parked Milford, Takapuna, so a one way trip. Thanks again for the hide.

Out in the open, so wedged into a rock space, close to clue, hopefully its will not travel! Kids are getting hungry, soon there will be a lunch stop, I am hoping they can wait until we get to the Rock chair. All carrying backpacks with drinks and lunch boxes of goodies, energy food to keep us caching!
Cache was out in the open, so I covered it up a bit, but wasn't 100% sure where it was supposed to be. Also, the pencil inside the cache doesn't write on the log because of the shiny paper. TFTC!
With the hint this was quickly spotted.
Logged as RAD together with renelm and aedk.

7am - Great spot early in morning at low tide, and not very many people around. SLTFTC
Sincere apologies for the very late log. Found on my NZ MEGA (Auckland 2013) trip with mtbikeroz, my Dad. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time travelling around Auckland and the North Island, going on some great walks and adventures and finding some great caches. Apologies again - if you have any queries or questions, please contact mtbikeroz direct via his profile. (all our finds are on the same date) Thanks.
Day 5 of our Mega roadtrip to Auckland. We had been out doing the 101 Dalmatians power trail all day and by the time we hit the Fish n Chip event we had matched our best caching day. After some dinner and a chat we took a walk along the beach with Kiwi-Nomad and catscatscats to bumps up the numbers. We went after 5 but only found 2 but we still beat our best day by 2 caches so whose complaining? Thanks for the cache

Found this one while doing a little bit of night caching after the Fish'n'Chip Event. TFTC
A pleasant little walk along the beach before the pre-Mega fish n chips event. Found with MtnLioness. I recall a nicely coloured hide.
Our walk along the beach continued till we arrived at this GZ. Had a climb on some of the provided rocks and found the cache.
Found during the Mega weekend. The weather turned out to be much better than expected, and we enjoyed exploring all the walkways, nooks and crannies. Many thanks to all the owners of the great caches we found.

After a quick feed of fish n chips at the nearby event we decided to stop off at a couple of caches on the way back to our motel. A reasonably easy cache which the junior dakotacat found after a minute or so of looking. TFTC glyn.
One of over 100 caches found while here for the NZ Mega. I apologise for the generic logs, but with limited internet access it's the only way to catch up! Many thanks to all the NZ cachers for such quality caches in great locations, I'm enjoying the journey you're taking me on!
Thanks glyn(the only one) love these coastal caches!

My first day caching in Auckland prior to attending the Mega event event on the week-end. After a slow start to the morning I decided to cache down along the beachs. I was heading south from Browns Bay and stopping for caches along the way.
I parked down at the next parking area and walked back to this one. I spent quite a bit of time wandering around the rocks before the cache was spotted just sitting there all nicely camo'ed.
Thanks heavens it was a work day.

Day 2 of a weekend cache hunt with Geco72, focusing on Takapuna and surrounds. Lots of rock turning involved until eventually we struck gold - or plastic as the case may be. TFTC.
After shifting the cache mobile we continued our wander around Milford. found the cache and then spotted a lost dog and soon after some kids looking for something- Yup it was the dog so managed to help them find each other. Good deed done. TFTC
After a previous attempt at this one had resulted in a DNF, believe this cache has been reinstated so, alomng with our partners in crime, Vamber, we were able to secure it on this outing.
Some confusion as this cache has the same coordinates as another glyn cache. believe we are logging the right one??!!

Out and about in the area with KiwifruitsNZ picking up some of the caches that were missing on a previous attempt.
This was a quick find, but caused some confusion for us after we realised that there was a new G-2 cache with the same co-ordinates as this one! Hopefully we are logging the right cache intended for this area. TFTC!

Nice find for the day on a wind swept beach. Could happily live here if I didn't have so far to travel to be with Mrs Dragon

Found, but didn't realise it at the time! Originally thought this was Promenading at Milford, which mistakenly was published at this cache location and with a fresh log in the cache looked like that cache. Turns out this one had been muggled and Glyn must have replaced it as the same time he placed the new one.
Visited at night and it was a new view of Rangitoto I hadn't seen before; it was neat to see the flashing navigation lights in the distance.
Thanks!

Searched GZ with 4 pairs of eyes, for a good amount of time, but couldn't spot the cache.
Spent ages looking for this one as we were sure that we had the right GZ.
Despite several muggles passing, we kept searching.
Alas, another DNF for today.

Nice hint! It had to be in one of two spots and we soon found the right one. TFTC!
Relieved to find this after two dnf's-great container.Heaps of two & four legged muggles enjoying the great weather today-beach looks great-tftc
Went out today for breakfast at the Belgium Pub and for a walk along the beach. Great weather today so the view around here was wonderful. Scrambled around for a bit, but soon found the cache. Great hide. TFTC #77
The Future Finder and I walked over here, after making the find on the previous cache, since the beach looked so lovely this afternoon. Cache was soon spotted, but it took perfect timing to retrieve and return due to the number of muggles also enjoying an afternoon stroll. Nice job on the camo. Cheers for the hide!
Passed in the morning and just kept on walking as to many muggles around. On the way back to Takapuna the tide was in driving the muggles away making for an easy stop.
A nice and sunny day at the beach. We had been here before for the predecessor of this cache. Today we had way more time for exploring the interesting lava structures.

Were a few 4 & 2 legged muggles about on summers evening. Lucky to have dog to be pretending to find lost ball.
A stroll along the beach on a beautiful summers evening. The tide was out today. Also ensured we said Hi to Philip!
And another fine example of a cache for the new year Thanks for the clever little hide.
Well as approaching GZ, we were preparing ourselves for a big search, but got the end result very quickly. great hide nice cameo. TFTC.
Before the new year party started I walked with Arne through his homezone. We managed to clean up quite some nice caches here. Another great hide! We found it in the last light of day. Thanks to Glyn for the fun and the challenge!

'found' if, moved it to look around it, looked some more went back, oh that was it, not very micro is it ?
Had been here once before in the night with a friend looking for this cache, but in the complete darkness, even with a torch, the cache was just far too well camo'd to spot!! We spied the hint object, but couldn't find the cache! - And having done an illegal park, didn't want to stick around, in fear of being towed!
Retuned today though, mid dayish while procrastinating, thinking the place would be relatively empty, as there was a bit of cloud cover. But no!! Everyone was still out and about for a walk!
This time though, I spotted the cache instantly... can't believe we missed it last time! Just had to wait between people to retrieve...
When I leant to grab the cache though, phone fell out of my pocket, and I then had to try retrieve that too in amongst the rocks!! - My poor wee phone! Haha... and this is why I shouldn't put my phone into the pocket of my shirt...
Signed the log then, and luckily didn't have to wait too long for a gap to return. Nice camo job! - As always!

Really good hide again! The clue was a big help here I first thought I was going to be searching for a while! TFTC
The beach was so busy with canines and muggles early on, we had to "take a break" at GZ. More taking of photos to wile away the time till the coast was clear. Cache quickly found, cool camo as per usual, and finally a muggle-free gap to sign the log and return. Surf was up, well sort of, so took a photo to complete the "tourist" formalities. TFTC and gets a favourite for location and container.
Another great piece of innovation and imaginative camo from G-2. Interesting description too!!! Not so many muggles at this point as tide was on the make and getting a little soggy!! TFTC
Great cache! Thanks for bringing us to the area on a pleasant day out with tmann421 TFTC
Well, on Saturdays this place ROCKS with it becoming muggle central (the 2 and 4 legged varieties!). I'd been caching around the coast during the week and it was really peaceful and pleasant. Today I had a few moments to nab a few more caches in the morning and walked up the beach from another cache further down. Did the resting and admiring the view, when muggles approached before I got a break in the foot traffic to retrieve the cache. Yet another cool Glyn cache found! TFTC

Not the phillip I was expecting but soon made sense at GZ, then spotted a likely cache container....... nice work.

The advantage of a high tide made the find for this one quicker. Mrs gm123 spotted the clue and I swooped in for retrieval. Very entertaining watching unlucky runners try the " dash befor the tide gets yA" sprint!
Great cache!
Great cache!
Approached GZ and thought oh gosh how am I going to do this one. Coast was clear, so decided to gingerly clamber around and have a bit of a cursory look. Was actually shocked when I spotted it so quickly. Was able to grab and sign and get it back in place before any muggles came into sight. Yay. Filled the calendar for another day. Awesome camo, gets a favourite point from us. SL. TFTC.
So glad to geocache again. I haven't been out caching for almost 4 months. Made the find very quickly. Great cache from the master! TFTC
A nice walk with some ad hoc Geocaching. Upon reading the logbook I suspect the camo was too good for us!
Had several moments of frustration as my arms are not very long. But sea or rock can't keep a keen cacher down. t4tc
We loved the beach walk. Lots of muggles around so I pretended to take pictures with my GPSr. Awesome camo job on this one.

I had found the earlier version nearby, so I completed the double today. Thanks.
Found it when finally having taking the time to do the walk (and between the muggles). Awesome camo!
Last one before we headed back to the states. Nicely done! TFTC. Brought the owners of the BB with us on this one.
I hit the beach with the family today, enjoying this Easter break..fantastic weather!. All the logs were damp, I dried out the ones that mattered! Thanks for another stunning bit of camo Glyn!
Didn't understand the clue until we got there, then it all made sense. nice camo nearly overlooked it.
High tide, windy and no one around. A quick stroll to GZ, this can be tricky. A look at the hint. Phillips??? Philips is organized into three main divisions -which one? It must be the bright one, a quick look and I had the cache in my hand. Nice one

Had doctors appointment first thing, so thought I'd grab a bit of fresh air(read as 'a quick cache')before heading into work. TFTC
I'm not certain what theitem is above the cache but I spun a story to a couple of passers-by that it is a navigational light for directing ships in on the correct bearing. It sounded plausible to them.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Remember having to come back twice to do the original as Glyn's camo was an experience for us when we were "Newbies". Must of learnt a thing or two since then as although the camo was excellent we discovered the well disguised cache quite quickly. Nice to come back to the site of one of our first caches. Still as beautiful now as it was then and those waves crashing on the beach are amazing. TFTC and the memories
Went for a night-time walk along the beach this evening. Took us a while to spot the clue by torchlight - we had been keeping our torches low so as not to disturb the neighbours. Once we saw the hint item we had the cache in hand in no time. As usual a very nice hide and an interesting hint. Thanks.

grabbed this one whilst walking the dog along the beach on a wonderful sunny night. easy find. TFTC.
So I checked on google maps and followed my gps and everything but I still went to the wrong place. Glyn's text was the most helpful in finding this "easy" cache. Pssh.
This was the third time I brought my friend geocaching(not to this cache), but this time was different because we actually found a cache. Finally!

I found MR#1 about a year ago and still remembered the last hiding spot, so stupidly spent a while looking in the same place before realizing that Glyn would never do the same thing twice! A re-check of the GPS had me in the right spot and locating the cache quickly. My pen died so I have left some weird looking ink splotches on the log book, if you look closely you may be able to make out a few letters TFTC!
A much quieter beach today and a quick find once a couple of muggles had passed.

A day off work with the Junior Pastamakers and a lovely day for a beach walk so thought we'd check out this cache, having enjoyed version 1. Surprisingly few muggles about (must be all working) so we made a quick find, said hello to Philip and then checked out the rock pools on the reef.
Great fun!
Great fun!
This cache had been on our radar since it was published but we have been out of town. It was a lovely evening and we had our new geopuppy that had never been to a beach before so off we went. At this time of the evening the beach was crowded with muggles walking their dogs. And of course every second person wanted to stop and look at how cute the little puppy was... I thought we had bought her along as a decoy not an attraction. Lucky enough that the tide was alomost in so the muggle traffic almost stopped giving us a chance to find the hidden cache. It was a quick find but again a very good piece of como. Good effort. TFTC.
