The water is so remarkably clear, surely a stream in good health. I found my GPS directed me to the wrong side of the road which had me searching in vain. However, broadening my search produced the desired result. The container is rusted and the lid no longer properly attached. The log is also full. Maybe some maintenance would be a good idea. TFTC
LegoBob_NZ takes the honours for this one. He beat me to it. Nice spot. The log is chocker. TFTC
Having taken Friday off as leave, and with Monday being Wellington Anniversary, I am making the most of a 4-day weekend by spending it with friends in the Waikato in order to try to target a few specific caches up here and otherwise boost my numbers for January. Our crew consists of Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B and myself TwigNZ, and so to save space on logs we simply signed our finds today with either MINT or Team MINT depending on log size.Today is day 3, and just like the previous 2 day there was a great deal of driving to a lot of beautiful places which make me want to come back and spend a lot more time at. One of the joys of geocaching for me is that I get to see places that I wouldn't have thought to visit otherwise, but often you just get a 'taste' of a place because you're rushing off to get another cache somewhere.I can't say that this was a beautiful location, but it had a cache for us to find so we stopped here. NZ_B decided to search one end of the structure so I went to search the other, 'just in case'. She called out "got it" but I had also spotted it, and she hadn't actually got it, so there was a rush between us to see who could actually grab it first, much to the amusement of the other two No issues to report here with either container or log, and we soon had our names entered before the whole thing was replaced as found. Thanks for setting this one up.
Team MINT (Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B & TwigNZ) are up in the central north exploring. Found on our way between Tauranga and Rotorua. Thank you mitchlin.
Quick find on our way to Rotorua under surveillance of other cachers. Busy spot tftc
Bumped into some fellow cachers on this one who put the pressure on by timing us, itd taken them no time at all apparently! A bit of a search on both sides of the road and the cache was located soon enough. Possibly not as fast as they did it of course! TFTC!!
Led astray by my navigation! Log is near full and cache needs attention/tidying up!
Quick little cache on the way home from work, think it might need some maintenance
After having been in TECT park today it was only a slight detour to locate this one on the way back to Tauranga. Not sure the barking dogs were too happy with our presence. A nice little stream.
Just wanted to write a quick note. As my family and I have only just discovered and learnt about geocaching we were unaware about the covid-19 restrictions currently in place regarding caching.
I just want to apologise for any discomfort our actions may cause and reassure everyone that my family and I have followed restriction and bubble rules strictly, haven’t traveled or been in contact with someone who has traveled, have no symptoms of illness, we followed hand washing/disinfecting hygiene practices while finding this cache.
Apologies for this oversight and we will now be waiting until we are in level 2 to go out again.

This was our first ever cache find for our family and bonus it’s just down the road from our house.
Thank you
Thank you
One of the local dogs objected to the car being parked.near HIS house but was noisy rather than nasty. Soon found the cache, signed the log and sloped off. TFTC
Got this one straight away. Some muggles nearby at the picnic area did wonder what I was doing though. TFTC.
School holiday trip to Auckland/Coromandel with the family. After a couple nights at Hot Water beach time for a few days in and around Tauranga. Staying in Matua...Time for an explore. Rotorua for the day- starting with a morning walk, luge or two....some mud & steam and warm feet, tree top walks...government buildings and nice walks...and some tea. Heading for home, early evening. Quiet & a quick find and sign in a lovely wee spot. Cheers.
On the way to rotorua for a work do and stopped here to grab this cache. A nice little detour off the main road and managed to find the cache, sign, return and get back to my car without any traffic going past. Thanks for the cache
When I arrived at GZ I thought this was going to be a nice quiet find and I'd be on my way... how wrong was I?? What a busy road! Within about the first 5 minutes of me standing at the bridge trying hard not to look suspicious there must have been at least 25 cars go past me... and darn it country people are super helpful. Three cars stopped to ask me if I was okay... there was even a guy who stopped to cover over some graffiti on the bridge itself who felt the need for a quick chat. Eventually all was quiet for a moment and I was able to sign the log and return the cache back to it's hiding place. Thanks for the letter adventure down this road
didnt take long to know where I thought it might be, got out and heard kids swimming down stream, it wasnt until I was putting it back that I noticed people on the deck lucky they werent taking any notice of what I was doing, thanks for the placment
After work and waiting around to Time Warp, i spent the next few hours caching. Quite a few muggles out and about and a ton of tourists everywhere.
Took my niece out and let her find this one even tho i spotted it as i walked up. Gave me a chance to take in the beauty of the stream. Must be pretty cold too this time of year.

Took a slight detour from our journey to find this cache. So happy MrNZT found this cache as the cache guardian was a Huge spider and every hair on my neck was standing on end at how close i had been to putting my hand on that!!
There was a very yappy dog at a nearby house while we signed the log. Admired the clear water and we were on our way. Arachnophobia still very much in tact!! TFTC!

Day #16 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
Today, at first, I spent some time in beautiful Rotorua to visit some high-grade, handsome caches and to explore the scenic areas of the town . Later the pleasant trip with fair weather took me further up north via the scenic area of Ngongataha to Mount Manganui .
This was by far the most scenic and moving day during my vacation so far! [:X] Sunshine, beautiful scenery and stunning nature-walks and views [:X] [^]
My heart was jumping! [8].... That's why I love this country! [:X]
Of course there were some cool treasures hidden along the walk- and drive-route, that I loved to pick up .
Ended up with 17 finds , including a great earth-cache [^], a breath-taking virtual [:X] [^], two cool challenges , a field-puzzle mystery and several handsome traditional caches at the side of the road . Cool!
This one - a classical hide at the side if the country-road...
But here with a izzy-bizzy cache-guard! Brrrr . I won! [:o)]
Hey - owners in Rotorua, way up North and Mount Manganui - you have cool caches [^] !
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining .

Heading back to H.B. stopping on the way searching for cache's. A lovely stream with nice clear water. I was temped to get in after signing log. Cheers.
It took the Seagnoid and I three days to drive the ~250KM from Palmerston North to Turangi for the Mega.
I wonder how long it'll take us to drive home given that we're going via Tauranga? (to get the webcam cache!)
We stayed overnight in Rotorua and now we're on our way on to Tauranga.
Thanks for the placement

A nice day for a drive - cool, cloudy. Zara, Etherlod and me are on our way back home to Palmerston North from the Turangi Mega. Via Tauranga!
A nice quick find.
There is nothing wrong with the cache - the CO should log a owner maintenance, to remove the needs maintenance icon.
Signed as ZECATS - Zara, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid.
### The Seagnoid was here! ###

I am visiting from Australia and after spending a week with my sister in New Plymouth then attending the mega event at Turangi I have time to play tourist for a week before my flight back to Sydney next Saturday. So I thought I would head towards the Bay of Plenty as I have never been to this part of New Zealand before. Today was a run from a bit south of Rotorua to Tauranga, so not a job of getting every cache on the way but a line on the map.
Made the short detour off the main road, man this little side road gets a fair bit of traffic though. Made the grab soon enough though the iPhone wanted me at the other end of it. Then a school bus came past. But worth the little detour to a nice creek. Thanks mitchlin.

We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Thanks for placing the cache.
Amazing how crystal clear the water in the stream is...??? After locating gz a quick search I soon had the log in hand quick sign and return thanks for a great cache
First one today and didn't have my caching eyes on. Lots of cars driving past. Thanks for the cache
After leaving Rotorua, this was the first stop of the day, before driving towards Auckland.
The cache was found easily.
Thanks for the cache.

#9991, Found it with DroidCachebox!
We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 7 - Rotorua to Auckland
Today the weather was pretty bad, it rained all day.
Since we had to travel to Auckland anyway, we tried to use the short periods without rain to find some caches on the way, we managed to visit some interesting locations.
Thanks for the cache.

This was my first stop of the day which would end up being a 260km round trip from Tauranga to Matamata via Rotorua, Tirau, Okororie and other small towns. Got 29 caches, a photo to complete a virtual cache and two TB's.
7:30am and the stream below me was beautifully clear and calm. The find was quick and the cache in good condition.
Thanks mitchlin.

I called by here on my way back from the Dog's Breakfast at the new dog off leash fenced area at the TECT park.
The stream was very clear, you could see the bottom easily from the bridge.
An easy park and grab cache, although, as mentioned earlier the house occupants have a clear view of what you are doing!

Out for a day of caching fun with Lorriebird and Agazo. Nice spot, although I felt watched with the nearby house so close. Thanks for the fun!
Beautiful place to stop for a view and a smiley. It was raining so we didn't stay long. Thank you for bringing us here!
We were out checking in on the grandparents and figured this one wasn't far - I may have over sold it to the wife and kids but it didn't take long to get this smiley - cheers mitchlin.
The stream is gorgeous and clear and has lots of da tails flitting about. Thanks for bringing us here
While we were just down the road I was "allowed" to go pick this up as I "have 5 minutes" to find it. Luckily it took less time than that to find.
I took a moment to clean out all the crap in the cache which had gone soggy. The log was still dry however, despite the bag being torn, so I replaced the plastic bag.
Thanks for bringing me to an area I have yet to explore.

Getting pretty low on caches in Tauranga to do now to keep the streak going, especially ones I can get while having kiwibaby with me but this one looked like a option. Have overlooked this one in the past as thought a walk would be needed but on further looking saw was a easy park and grab so with the weather looking pretty dodgy today I loaded kiwibaby in the car and we headed off for a little drive. Have never been down here before and what a lovely area. Cache took a little longer than it should phone had me searching on the wrong side for awhile. Once I checked the right side found in seconds. Signed log in car and only a couple of muggles drove past while I was here. Replaced cache and headed back to town. Cheers Mitchlin for bringing me out here be a nicer spot in summer
Decided to slip by since I was so close by. A beautiful location, although it was getting a little dark so couldn't see too much. TFTC mitchlin, #7816
Decided earlier in the week that a mission to clean up some caches between Rotorua and Tauranga. Also took a new Geocacher with me Sakura7, to show her the ropes and show her what geocaching is all about. A great day was had and with some fantastic locations visited, even if the weather was average to poor at best, still at least it wasn't cold. And as a bonus no DNF's thou it was close on a few.
Thanks to everyone for the placements.
Quick detour to this one. We picked a side each to search for the cache, I won.

Between the catching up of friends here in Tauranga we made a slight diversion to this cache as it was out a ways and one that keeps annoying me on my map. a very nice short drive and fairly quiet roads, soon had this cache in hand and had converted a box to a smilie
thanks for the placement

This is a local one for us.. a wonderful wee stream, very beautiful.. worth the stop.. Thanks
Another find on our journey north, we seemed to get to this one at the right time as there was only one truck that drove passed us while we were there, Nice area for a hide, TFTC
Another stop on our trip up north. We hadn't had a caching stop since Taupo on this trip as we had decided against stopping in Rotorua. This was a fairly straightforward find, although the truck that drove past as we were still standing by the bridge signing the cache must have thought we were a bit strange... Thanks for the cache, was a welcome relief from sitting in the car.
In the area so thought I would make a quick detour for a cache or two. What a gorgeous clear stream. Simply stunning, this is what caching is all about. Tftc and showing us this spot.
The men of the team are on a two week road trip between various tramps. This was on the road towards their next destination. TFTC
I must be going blind or I was in too much of a hurry between rain showers. Found it just as it started to bucket down again. Quick log. Tftc
Wow this road is busy today. It's wall to wall vehicles crossing the bridge at 5.30 pm. Not been down here before, so thanks for bringing us here. I peered hopefully into a very clear stream but no fish on show for us this evening. The cache took a bit of spotting, not because it's sneakily hidden, but my tired eyes couldn't make it out in the gloom. The log book is over full so we popped a sheet of "write in the rain" in the plastic bag to tide things over. TFTC

Found as part of stik-a-crane now logging under my own name. I was there to help make the find but wanting to create a map and history of my own unique kind.
Weekend away - visiting friends - introduced them to this 'sport' - out showing them what it's all about today - WELCOME sabre2th's - looks like you have super spotter min cacher there in your family - enjoy your day out!!
Our first cache find !! Yah. Thanks Stik-a-crane for the intro. Nice easy find within a few minutes of home. Although the phone GPS wasn't so accurate. But having 3 GPS devices between us we did make the spot no worries.
Ich glaube dieser Cache hatte schon lange keinen besuch mehr, soviel Spinnennetze wie da waren.
