Logs
After all the rain yesterday, today turned out to be a perfect day for a country drive. With the bonus of finding a few caches along the way. A good excuse to see a bit of Mt Somers. Possible my first time here. Cache found safe and sound as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.
Found while staying in cabin next door. It was a bit exposed so I recovered it. Thanks for bringing me over to see the campground and the outside of the museum.
Found it when we were in the mount sommers campground. No longer a mettal container was soaking wet inside so we added new paper for log, and put it in a snap lock bag. Thansk for the cache. It added to our camping fun.
Found it on the stop on way back. First time I was thinking it is garbage but I saw it on an older log picture. Difficult to open and completely wet inside.
Having a 2 week tour of South Island in a motorhome and called past the wee town of Mt.Somers. Quick find while dumping wastes. Tftc
What a great little Domain Campground.Easily found before moving on.TFTC
Found out on a sunny caching day out with Farmerkeith and JazzyJo. Took us a bit to find and did need to enter garden all safe and sound.
Easy find, parked up for 2 nights to explore Ashburton Lakes.weather looks promissing
Day 2 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Christchurch to Twizel, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook.

Mt Somers and up the gorge are terrific. Never been here and it's wonderful. Good hint thank you!
Such a lovely domain, quickly found the cache once some people went away. Thanks!
We approached from the other side because there were people camping nearby. Chose our moment and went in and retrieved the cache. Neat little hut. TFTC
We were in the area today and made a quick find here out of sight of muggles on the field. All good here. There are some interesting old buildings. TFTC econut.
Awesome wee area with kids playground and wee museum, old mustered hut. Would love to come back when they are open. Thanks for showing us this cool area
Perfect timing - place completely deserted as I searched for the cache, found it, replaced it. Then two cars arrived as I was walking back to the car! TFTC!!
I have had two finds mentioning that the cache has been sabotaged. This had previously occurred a few months ago. I replaced the cache and now less than 3 weeks later the same thing has happened. We now live 300 km away and it will be a few months before I can get to the location and find a new more secure spot.
MAINTENANCE REQUIRED...
Found the geocache jammed between the shed and the chimney (seems to be away from the GZ) with no lid on the container and very waterlogged contents.
We've put the container back at the base of the tree for cache owner to do maintenance and hide it again.

Maintenance required - new log and container required. Need to get myself some waterproof log sheets for situations just like this.
Heading part-way back to Christchurch today from Lake Tekapo and staying at this domain for the night. We had a quick look for this one early evening but didn’t find it. Subsequently read through a few of the logs and gave it another go an hour or two later, this time coming up with the goods! Quite well hidden! #3501. TFTC.
We had been on a weekend 4x4 trip on the Clyde and Lawrence rivers. On the way home we stopped to do some caching. This was a lovely place to stop and have a nosey. We enjoyed find the dyslexic god. Thanks for the cache econut.
Found nothing at first but widened my search slightly and there it was. Interesting place. Tftc
We got the right area from the hint easily enough, but we were expecting something different to what it turned out to be. We knew from an older log that the owner had recently enabled it, and a previous log had a key phrase which pointed list to a limited number of objects to search.
Vacations 2019 - Road trip trough New Zealand
With Geoesposa, this was my 50th anniversary. 16 days, 4200Kms and a few hundreds smilles after, i was sure i saw nothing....
I liked everything, the friendly and civilized people, the way the country works, the roads and especially the natural beauty of New Zealand.
I fell in love....
I decided to go back in 5 years, I easily see myself living my last days somewhere lost in any stunning scenery of this wonderful country.
With the itinerary studied at home, the caches were the ones that were in the chosen places, and a few used to stretch the legs. It was decidedly not the most important on this trip. Of all the visited, only half a dozen did not appear, all being in good health except two or three.
I will use this generic log, not for disrespect of the owners, but due to the amount of caches visited. Here the majority of caches serve to show something beautiful (as it should be), not giving importance to the container.
My thanks to all the ownwers who, allied to the natural beauty of the country, have made this vacation unforgettable.

We crashed at Mount Somers Holiday Park, during our drive north to Kaikoura. Lovely place to stay and in the neighbourhood were three caches. During an evening stroll I found them all three. Thanks for the hide!

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 2 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. Today I decided to venture around Mt Somers and Methven area to get the required numbers.
Luckily I have been used to dyslexic people.
Cheers for the cache.

Spending a day geocaching with Tairanium. On our way to Mount Sunday. Nice hide, TFTC.
Despite going straight to the right spot took a while to find but shouldn’t have! Tftc.
Today we drove by car from Staveley round the country. At this place we made a short break to sign the logbook.

We'd come up this way to try for a FTF on the new cache at Manuka Hut. Sadly it was a DNF instead.
The next part of the plan was try for a few other caches around Lake Heron, then camp up for the night and do a spot of fishing. It was nice camping here, though the fishing resulted in another DNF
Those caches we *did* find, such as this one, we signed BRN (Bo& bronnie, Rincewind3, and NotManlyJack). Even the ones Bo found years ago!
Love the hint for this, it did the trick (even from a distance). I had no idea the structure next door was here, it was very interesting.

We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one! The hint took us to another place. Thanks for showing this hut.
Greetings from the Dutch.

While visiting from Ohio on the *Viking Orion,* I took an excursion out to see Mount Sunday and the fabled homeland of the Rohirrim. On the way out there we stopped at the nearby meeting house for a welcoming snack, which gave me just enough time to zip over and make the quick find on this cache. Luckily nobody saw me...this time!
