Haven't forgotten about this one. Will replace as soon as we can get out on the water again.
The cache was hidden inside the post, which is still present, even though the sign has gone. So it might still be in there. Worth a look if next cacher gets there before we can check/replace.
Feel free to drop a replacement in the post if it has indeed gone missing.

Floating past, if it was attached to the back of the 6 knot sign, the sign is gone, only the pole remains. Didn’t stop to look for the cache though
Out to avenge a DNF from 2 years ago. Not disappointed. Pretty windy out here today. Let’s see if I can get the rest.

Muggle65 and I loaded the yaks after a massive day out at The Red Hot Summer Tour. On the drive down l was feeling slightly pedestrian after too many adult beverages but figured a paddle would probably blow the cobwebs away. And it most definitely did! We were pushing into the wind and it wasn't that easy. No better way to forget your hangover. Cache was found in perfect order. Thank you for placing this one
& I came down the Goldy today cause we brought back a passenger to Coombabah from BrisVegas. While here we attacked this cache series. Hitting the water the wind was against udon the way up the creek & back our first cache as we travel down
Was super happy to be out on the water today with the muggle husband. Since we were heading near this one, we did a quick bypass to see if I could grab it. Shimmied right up next to GZ and grabbed it from the ski. All good here, thanks for the cache Herbz!
Ended up climbing onto the island for a closer look but couldn't find any cache here today
We haven't checked on this series lately as there are no DNFs on any of them. However, Float Your Boat 1 and 3 haven't been found for 9 months but the rest have been found in May this year so you should be goid to go. We are going to archive FYB7 because GZ is no longer appropriate. It will still be physically in place for a little while though.
CO about to hire kayaks to do this series will they be in place still after nearly a year unfound?
After a [flying visit to Wave Break Island](https://coord.info/GC6YNBZ), the little rental tinny was then pointed northwards to Paradise Island and the Coomera River... and at 8am in the morning, the water was like glass and our band of merry men set a cracking pace [^]
The first of the Float Your Boat series was a relatively quick Find *from a distance*, BUT the boat then had to be switched into **shallow-water mode** for the final assault on the mangrove island. Then it was a quick scramble up the tree and job done
TFTC - and new Loop 10 DT.

Geohubby had an RDO today and it was my day off. He likes kayaking, I like geocaching, so what better choice for an adventure...we're off to float our boat!
We decided to put in off Jabiru Island, we've never been in this area before and it's actually a nice spot for a paddle. Our kayak today was our tandem Rhubarb and Custard, we'll really get to try out its new steering system. The tide was on it's way out, but it wasn't difficult to paddle against the tide and the breeze was being kind to us. For this cache I think we actually timed it just right, because I could get out of the boat with water only half way up my calves and the cache was quite easy to get to. It's always nice to have a win and it was a good one to start with. TFTC Herbz, can't wait to find the other ones!

Out and about in a hire boat collecting some water caches Lots of laughs, lessons learned, and stories told. I was told the first letter of each of our names was used to make the team name WADERS which is very appropriate because there was lots of that going on today!! I had such a fantastic day, thanks to team work, and great COs, thanks!
The WADERS (Selva Girls, stortigirls, NeverSayDi, E:), Mr RoddyC and EatSleepCacheRepeat) hired a boat for a day on the water. This series has been a lot of fun. Thanks, Herbz, for placing them
Out on a hire boat with the WADERS (Wanda, Amanda, Di, Elena, Rod & Sam) today to claim some water caches and some good terrain ratings! Lots of fun and laughs as sandbars, mud baths (damn soft sinking mud), songs and stories were enjoyed by all. Thanks for the opportunity for a great day out on the water Herbz and Tftc!
Was here with the WADERS Team today ( W-selvagirls, A-stortigirls, D-neversaydi, E-E(:, R-roddyc and S-eatsleepcacherepeat). Hired a boat for the day. What a glorious day with wonderful company.
Been longing to put smileys in this area.
6th find of the day.
TFTC Herbz. I would not have dreamt of going to this place otherwise! What a fabulous day even if we hit some sand bars, some accidental swimming and mud baths.

Wow! And no one got wet on this cache! We are getting better!! Awesome team! Go WADERS! Thanks for the cache!!
One of two caches found on Mothers Day due to a surprise by geo son. Couldn't get close enough to the others in the series as he forgot that we had to venture out at high tide and the boat was too heavy to manoeuvre close enough. Thanks Herbz for the great adventure, will be back in the future to hopefully nab the remainder, TFTC.
Almost twelve months ago we first mooted the idea of boating up to do the T5 caches on the northern Gold Coast waterways. Over the last few weeks we settled on today to ire the boat, but somehow it grew to three boats - a party of , including DiamonJS, Rusty85, Team Benders, Crew 153, Nadine1989, Temingi (from Yeppoon), Vennfamily and Patrol14. Our first port of call was Float Your Boat 7, ending up with the GCPT - Humpback Whale.
Whoohoo - last of the "Floaters". Apart from the DNF at No 7, the rest were great. Thanks.
Found on 20th April 2016. TFTC.

We were keeping one eye on the fuel gauge on the way to this one and knew that we would not have enough fuel to get back to Southport. A quick call to the boat owner and we arranged for a refuel stop at Jabiru Island on the way past.
This was the last of the series and the flotilla arrived for another quick find.
I loved this series and now will have to look for other caches to put on my To Do List to replace them.

While out on the high seas for a spot of plundering (cache finding), our merry band of sailors* motored on to the last one of this FYB series on our list. Even though they were running low of fuel, the other boats managed to get to the cache before us and make the find.
Logbook signed by all and returned.
What a great series to do and has been a lot of fun to do in a group.
A rendezvous with the hire company for more fuel at the nearby ramp; gave us time to have lunch and a toilet break before heading across the waters to get more caches on the list.

Out on a high seas adventure with our 3 boats. I was in a group of 3 teaming up with patrol14, and then there was a boat of 4 with diamonjs, Rusty85 and Crew153 and then a 6 seater with RoddyC, Nadine1989, Termingi and vennfamily as they called the yellow sand bucket but I called it the yellow submarine.
Last of the float your boat series and what a great series it was. While we were negotiating out of the canal the other boats were heading to the last one. We zoomed in to sign the log.
The other boats were short of fuel and the boat hire brought more fuel so they could do more caches.
We had lunch at the boat ramp on Jabaru Island and we headed to do the next cache on foot.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Herbz All good with this cache
A favourite for the series

RoddyC extended an invite to me a couple of days ago for a spot on a hire boat to collect some T5 caches. We rocked up this morning at Southport and we were introduced to the plastic bucket, as coined by Mr Patrol14, - a large, yellow, plastic thing with a 6hp motor which was to be our transportation for the day.
I was given the job of pilot and told to head north. A long way north. I think it took about two hours for our plastic bucket to reach Lake Coombabah at it's top speed which was well below the posted 6 knot speed limit. We had to watch as the other hire boat disappeared into the distance. How they didn't collect all the caches before we got there I don't know.
With our tank of a boat making us too slow to be first to reach any of the previous caches, RoddyC wanted us to get this one but unfortunately, I overshot the mark again and Rusty85 piloted their boat in for a perfect landing right at GZ just as they were running low on petrol.
This was Vennfamily's 600th find.

Last one and we are running out of fuel, so a quick call to the hire company and we arrange a meeting place across the water for a top up. These have been fun caches. TFTC
Gotcha !!! An invitation from RoddyC to join a crew of pirates on a raid of treasures hidden around the Gold Coast waterways was very welcome. Hopped out of the hammock before 5 bells and set sail for Crew153's anchorage to stow away for the land trip south to pick up " The Yellow Pearl " or should that be Peril ? , our Pirate Ship for the day. Think she needed careening as we were the slowest boat in the fleet of three. Still Captain Blair or should that be Bligh did a sterling job of navigating the Good ?? Ship through the treacherous shoals and sandbars to the hidden treasures we were seeking. Didn't find any treasure but we left our marks " X " in each of the Treasure chests we found.
Thanks to Capt. Herbz, Capt. Terror and the other pirates that hid the treasure chests we searched for.
The day was an eye opener for me .Thanks to all involved.

We were out for a day of caching with barbbowman, FastEd59 and bubba89 trying to increase our difficulty / terrain average to 1.9 It is slow going, but we know we will eventually get there Even though it was an overcast day and we had to make our way through a few showers, we still had a very enjoyable day out, mostly on the water.
After finding a few nearby caches, we soon launched our boats for the main event for the day. We admired the scenery as we made our way along this part of the river system, taking care to keep watch for areas of shallow water to avoid running aground (we only did that once or twice ). On arriving at ground zero, we were able to locate the cache easily and with our names added to the log book, we were off to continue our adventure.
Thank you Herbz for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Down the coast today with barbbowman, bubba 89 and Just a Trifle.
Boats launched, and this was our first on the water. Nice quick find.

Finally near the end, our last find in the series, bennyboppers and Krazy Krissy set about to retrieve the cache and our sights were set on the river bank across the way to end our day. A great afternoon out, beautiful weather and location. Thank you to the Hebz for setting up and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment, always greatly appreciated.
Krissy and I made it to this one first and was good spotting by krissy. Hot wheels duo was already near the shore by this time and remsjw missussan mnance101 and lisylou paddled ahead while I got krissy to stretch out and log the cache.
Yay, the last one! Wow, what a big afternoon of kayaking. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Herb for all of these caches and for bringing us to this lovely area.
Would like to have said that the end was nigh, but it was still a way off. Tough Mothers ducked in and the cache was found. Off to the end of the 3 hour journey. Enjoyed the day, maybe not the day after.
Our last cache in the series just as the tide began to turn and come in.
We really enjoyed the series.
Now to wash the mud off.
Thanks

This was actually where Griffo and I finished the boat series, and what a great afternoon we had, actually I think we both expected it to be a bit harder but we had picked a good day for it,the water was as smooth as Griffos bum,if anyone wants a good day grab a kayak and do it.TFTC.Herbz.
A boating adventure today with 22 out of 23 found (2 unloved) with Gulliverstravel54, cantcachus2014 and i. Starting our day at the runaway bay boat ramp (630am) we only had a small window it find 16 of them before the sea way was in a lock down at 10am as the 1st Xcats power boat championship was here on the gold coast and we didn't want people watching us while we were finding all the hides. Out of the area and clear of the lock down but 30mins we headed north the find the others, low tide up this way played havoc and killed so much of our time up this way. tftcsl
Find #3551 Today we had aquired a vessel with which to collect some T5 caches and our team Of Gt54, Forbiddenground and Cantcacheous 2014 set of early this was the one of many TFTC
Went out today with Gullivers Travels54 & Forbiddenground to finally clear off these caches and turn them into smiles. Some were easy to get to, others were a bit tougher. We all hade a great day and adventure. Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches. Tftc
Today was a mix of Gilligans Island, Patrol Boat, McHales Navy and the the 1983 Americas' Cup. Lots of had with a group of friends out in the bay with a penchant for geocaching.
We had mechanical mayhem, leaks and lateness, injuries and incidents, wet and windy, sandbars and scratches.
We enjoyed the series that took us from Jabiru and wound through the mangroves south to our final destination.
Thanks for a great day Herz!

With 2 boats available for use today, what better way to utilise them than hit the water with a group of geocaching friends and hunt down some caches. This series was quickly identified as the target for the day and the timing of the tides was perfect to reduce the encounters with mud and shallow water. Well that was the intention anyway, but we still managed plenty of close encounters with the aforementioned obstacles. This was my first time captaining this particular vessel so it took me a while to master the throttle controls - I managed to send us into the mangroves at speed a couple of times as I mistook forward and reverse on the tiller controls. With the Swellerfungus Movable Ballast System (TM) in operation in our vessel we managed to defy many of the shallow mud/sandbanks that stood in our way, as the other boat in the armada resorted to paddling/pushing/towing to get them through. After a few challenging caches we managed to make it to the end of the series and get out before the tide receded enough to cause us any major issues. Thanks Herbz for a very enjoyable series.

This was our fist cache in the series. We spotted a kayaker paddling near GZ as we approached but they had moved off by the time we arrived. As we were packing up to leave this one the channel was inundated by a large group of young boys in boats and we had to thread our way carefully past them at the other end of the channel - quite a challenge for someone still coming to grips with the boat handling s early in the day. It was time for fleet maneuvres and the Float Your Boat series looked like just the spot to put Admiral Seff's fleet through it's paces.
With Admiral SeffnJarah and his brother, Admiral (ret) Mark, in command of the two fleet vessls, the small flotilla ventured along Coombabah Creek, finding caches and battling with the mud, mangroves, shallow water, and even Herbz's over protective guard dog.
After a quick sail past, it was time for the first cache. I think it took longer to clean the mud off feet and shoes afterwards than it did to find this one. All in in good order here.
Many thanks to my ship mates today. Thanks for the cache, Herbz.

Our last in the series and we almost left with a DNF. We were too happy with the wrong tree for too long and had decided this must be missing. But we rounded the point just in case and spotted it from the different angle. MrsG balanced on a slippery tree root to get enough height to grab the cache and in the meantime the mozzies had a free for all. Paddling back to the carpark the tide was just beginning to come in. TFTC and the fun we had Herbz.
Out on a southern adventure with Orange Crew and Luke from Slow Puncture and boy were we in for a day of surprises, ending in one of the worst storms in 30 years!!
We thought we knew what to expect here, turns out we didn't and this find took us quite some time.
GPS bounce was proving to be bad and we thought we had covered a 10 metre radius by the time the shout was made. We were debating on whether to give up, but all being determined, (or is it stubborn!!) we weren't going to be the one to make the call!

Today, Team Armenia set out for an excursion to the Gold Coast, primarily to attack Wavebreak Island, Terror Island, South Stradbroke Island and Coombabah Creek in Orange Crew's powerboat (tinnie).
Why Team Armenia? ORANGE Crew, Team DNA (of RED Rocket fame) and Slow Puncture (of BLUE Thunder not-so-much-fame). Know your vexillology, people (Yes, I did have to look up Armenia's flag...).
As we approached we examined the hint. Okay, that means it is here somewhereabouts. No luck from a visual inspection. Kieran and Angela piled out whilst Luke stayed in the boat and held the tree to stop the craft floating away, As the shortest I am also self-voted the most likely to disappear in uncharted waters, so it served a double purpose. This arrangement continued for the rest of the series.
So, after a lot more looking than in retrospect was necessary, Kieran spotted it. Right where it was said to be. Onward to the next one.

Out and about in Coombabah Creek for a boating adventure with Slow Puncture and Team DNA. We found the area we were looking for, but the container proved elusive here. In out, backward forward, round and round before finally spotting it near the boat! Nicely placed, all good here TFTC
I had been bugging Captain Terror to let me borrow him and his canoe to grab these caches. I have been attempting to get my average Terrain higher and this was definitely a great place to grab some higher terrain caches. We came down yesterday to borrow the co's tinnie and use that but a miscalculation meant the tow ball wouldn't fit in my little subaru's square plug. This morning however we had the cache owners with us to drop us at the boat ramp
We motored along to this first cache of the series. I couldn't believe how soon we were at GZ. Well this definitely beats the canoe for speed! The Captain jumped out to grab the cache and informed me that there was a crab in a crab pot nearby... mmmmm lunch... but technically we shouldn't be grabbing other peoples catches. Once my name was signed in the log we motored on to the next one. Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Headed down to Jabiru Island today for a bit of kayaking and caching. Was a tough paddle out on the water, battled headwind the whole trip to and from these caches. Nice little series will have to get the ones we didn't go to in the future. TFTC
I have hired a Kayak for the week-end and was going to make the most of it.
After an outing yesterday I was all set for another outing today.
I teamed with IolantheK again for another adventure.[^]
With the tide coming in (we thought) we decided to head all the way to end, number 7 first.
We soon discovered that the water was still leaving the creek.
On our return leg from number 7 we stopped in here. A short walk to GZ but took me ages to find it.
Thanks for the cache.

Staying with family in Oz, luckily Brad has a boat so wow lets find some caches.
had a great time looking for these, spotted a few mud crabs and dropped some crab pots.
we was nearly up to our waists in mud a few times as the tide was going back out and had to get wet to manouver the boat... but hey thats all in the fun.
Even had a swim in the creek to get cleaned up after taking the boat out of the water nice strong current was swimming and getting no where.
Brad said " Crazy Pomme " i know its you winter and its too cold for you guys hahahaaha.

First water cache at high tide. Visiting uncle who lives on canal. Wind in the wrong. No luck though kids and aunty looked hard. Hope we get chance to try again before leaving Saturday. Tftc
A day of geocaching with our friends the Couchmen started. The weather was not looking good but finally we just had just some drops.
We started this series with the first one, but since we could not locate it we just went on to the next ones. But after a sms from the GeoWife of Couchmen, we had no choice but to return and get it! This time Couchmen went in and spotted it. We were successful all the way!
Thanks Herbz for this cruise, and Couchman for sailing the boat

These water caches have been sitting at the top of our unfound caches list for so long because we couldn't get hold of any sort of water craft with a motor.
It would have been nice to think we could borrow a canoe or kayak and paddle our way around but when reality bites we are just too old and unfit to even attempt it.
I had never been out on a houseboat and Geo Wife had only been on one once quite a few years ago so we had the idea of combining a houseboat holiday with a caching adventure.
Our next problem came when it wasn't possible to take the boat under the Jabiru Island Bridge, we solved that by hiring a motor for the tender and getting special permission to use it up the lake.
We invited our caching friends the "Dhobitock"s to visit it us on the boat for the day and they jumped at the chance of picking up the "Float Your Boat" series.
The weather forecast was not looking good with possible showers and thunderstorms but that wasn't going to deter us.
Geo Wife sent us off with her blessings, so all provisioned up we headed off from north of Jabiru Island.
The weather was now quite pleasant and the lake spectacular the only problem now as we motored back was we were heading into a Northerly wind but we were still heading home (to the boat that is)
The trip was very uneventful and as we headed closer I got a text from Geo Wife asking if we were going for No 1.
I said we may not have enough time and immediately got the response "You can't come back without it!!!" "There have been no DNF's and we aren't going to have one either".
Well that was telling me!!! Now we just had to find it!!
We chose the same spot to come in again as we were sure the GPS was not out but this time we came in stern first so I had the opportunity to go for it, plus Mr "Dhobitock" had had enough of mud for one day.
Luckily we were able to to head back to the boat soon after as I virtually walked up to the cache and spotted it straight away.
It really does blend in and was nice and safe in its position.
Thanks Herbz for taking us on this cruising adventure it has been a great afternoon and certainly made up for yesterday.

This was the first of 8 caches today out on Coombabah Creek. I didn't realise until now that it was a 12km round trip. With just a kayak and paddle Im going to be sore tomorrow.
I parked at Jabiru Island and set off. Soon after I made it here and claimed my first cache. A couple of muggles fishing close by probably wondered why a kayak headed straight into the mangroves only to reappear a sort time later. SL. TFTC Herbz. Off the the next one.

Geo hubby went fishing with my brother this morning & suggest they try 1of your caches.
It was muddy today & he had to return a second time to find it.
Thanks Herbz

Cruising along nicely on Patches, the surf ski, with the tide coming in. Managed not to get too muddy, but it's not easy getting off a ski and getting the cache without help. Had to jam poor Patches into the mangroves so she would not float away
We caught a jellyfish! I think we killed a whole bunch in the attempt though... With a bucket we'd CITO'd earlier, Captain Terror was determined to scoop up one of the plentiful denizens of the deep and to this end, I was busy batting at them with my paddle in order to direct them back toward the Captain. Oh, and we found a geocache, too . TFTC, Herbz. =^.^=
With the bucket on board we still had not managed to catch a jellyfish yet (you'd think it wouldn't be so hard) but as we got near this one, I slowed us down in the canoe and I finally caught one. By now La Kedi and I were bobbing up and down in the middle of the creek, so motored off to get this one.
The GPS was doing some silly things and led us astray. I cut the motor, but then it wanted us elsewhere. A short paddle and I spotted the cache. I drew the short straw and bailed out. One really can't get enough mangrove mud between one's toes I always say. A quick sign and replace and we were off to Jabiru Island to pack up and head off on another canoe adventure. Many thanks for this series Herbz, I shall recommend it to all. TFTC and another favourite point

The cache log sheet is soaked and needs replacement ASAP and cache container however is in good condition (couldn't work out how the water had got in).

IolantheK and I hired a 2 man kayak from Roscoe Brisbane to try out our boating skills on the EKKA P.H. We could have picked a better tide as this cache series are easier to get at during high tide, hey but we still had a fun day.
We launched at Daisy Elms Park Boat Ramp at Coombabah. After collecting "Float Your Boat 2" we headed down steam to this cache. IolantheK spotted the cache and I made my way in over about 3m of mud to collect the cache. Upon opening the cache I found the log sheet totally soaked. I crabbed another piece of paper as a temp and we both signed it and after an attempt at drying out the original log we moved onto the next location.

My geospouse T-Tech and I have a mad kayaking and caching day coming up soon, so we figured we'd better get in some practice This series seemed to meet all our criteria for today's outing: not too far a drive to get there; an easy launch spot; doable within 10 kms of paddling; and a tidal area, but somewhat sheltered as it is a little further back from the coastline. We put in at Daisy Elms Park boat ramp at 10:30am as the tide was going out.
Number 2 for us. T-Tech got to the cache, but the log was absolutley soaked. He squeezed water out of it then put it out to dry for a minute or so, but it tore as he picked it up. We added a piece of paper so we could sign, but this one may need some TLC. TFTC, Herbz. Heading all the way from 1 to 6 now for a long haul paddle

Much easier than the others in the series. We did the series in reverse due to a falling tide. Would definitely be easier at high tide. Thanks Herbz for a fantastic day out on the water. Superb effort! TFTC and the series.
Found with Stairman1, geodogs and geodaughter. . We thought we would do a different type of caching today and that was by boat . The weather was perfect and we thought we would grab a heap of Herbz caches and this was the first on our radar. We left from the suggested co-ordinates and headed out with hardly any vessels present. We arrived at the GZ and I let Stairman1 grab this one . The log was a little wet but we managed to sign the log. Thanks Herbz.
Goldielover and I along with my daughter thought a day out on the bay would be in order. We arrived just after full tide, and managed to secure this one pretty quickly. A little bit of acrobatics and I had the cache ready for signing.

I was looking for a good series of caches for Noo82 and I to do. I discovered the Float Your Boat series and seeing that it was by Herbz, knew it would be a fun one! It's been a while since we've been out on the water in our plastic skis, so we dusted off the spider webs and drove down to the suggested launch site. The day was perfect, blue skies and hardly a breeze. We paddled over to stop no. 1 and Noo82 made the find. She waded through the mangroves to collect the cache and her foot sunk into the mud, breaking her thong! After signing the log and fixing Noo82's shoe, we navigated to the next stop. So far, so good...
KateRX saw the float your boat caches and decided we should give them a go.
I worked out the best spot to start from as I go there often with the kids for a swim.
We put the kayaks in and started paddling to the first cache, which we found quickly. The only problem was the mozzies found us quite quickly too and unfortunately I had forgotten the insect repellent!
So we signed the log and got out of there quick smart.

Just to clarify to future log readers, "Locutus_Of_Bris" and "Cow" are the same person. "Locutus_Of_Bris" is the caching name he uses. "Cow" is a nickname he has had for about 25 years
Everyone gets something different out of caching. Personally, I love boat caches. I had seen this series published. But getting my kayak down to the Gold Coast before I went to NZ wasn't going to happen. So congratulations to Mr Culture50 for his FTFs
This morning, Radnoski, Locutus_Of_Bris (aka "He That Is Inredibly Slack at Logging Any Cache"), and myself decided to meet up and grab the series. Originally we had planned to tackle a few of them from different vantage points. But in the end, we did them all in a row (and in order!)
We set off and made our way in. Despite the heat of the day, it was a pleasant paddle. We arrived at GZ and started the hunt. It took us a while before Locutus_Of_Bris announced he had found it. I disembarked for the retrieveal (so pleasant that mud is underfoot [xx(]) The cache is in good condition. TFTC Team Herbz

Fangoski and the Cow loaded up three kayaks and headed for the Goldest of Coasts.
We decided that Jabiru Island was a great spot to launch. It was about 500 meters to the first cache and I got the hang of the kayaking thing again quite quickly.
First cache for the day so I had the usual cache blindness. The Cow spotted the cache and that was one of the six done.
Thanks for the cache Herbz. Great idea.
