Not found for over a year with multiple DNFs. Would be good if the CO could confirm that the cache is still there. Thanks.
Searched for about 20mins around this tree but could not find it. Hopefully its still there!

Really enjoyed our walk. Quiet place apart from the odd bird. Found after a wee hunt. Tftc
Found my way to the launchpad and spotted the relevant trees. Searched and widened the search but could not find the cache. Might need the owner to look and do some maintenance.
Spent maybe 30mins with Miss 7 and Miss 9 but DNF today. Will come back another day. Found the other 3 in Grey's bush, so 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
Good hide, canister is broken and found QR code on ground nearby. Needs some TLC, have put back where found and inside a ziplock bag to preserve. Other than that great hide.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up in Gisborne … decided to head out & complete a few local walks … picked up this cache along the way … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,654 for us.
Finally tracked this one down. Replaced cache to keep this one going. Cheers.
New milestone with my 9000th find today
Day 14, Wednesday 2 February - Gisborne - Tolaga Bay - Anaura Bay - Omanuka Bay - then the back road from Togaga Bay to Gisborne on a TMGT hunt for the day. Stopping off at Grays Bush on our way back to Zara. Come on Lenny and Toby lets get moving!
Zara, Toby, Lenny and I are on our North Island expidition for a couple of weeks. Got The Seagnoid along for the first 4 days, heading to the Auckland Mega. PWGTs and TMGTs are on the radar for this trip. Lots of driving on gravel roads and visited lots of amazing places on our 6000km road trip snagging 200+ caches along the way. Visiting Cape Reinga, Bay of Islands, Gisborne and White Rock along our journey. The highlight cache for the trip was GC815zh Journey to Pandora (night cache in Ack) Another awesome trip. Thanks to all CO's.

Awesome tree! Found pretty easily. Unfortunately the film cannister is busted and needs maintenance. But log in pretty good condition still.
Found,a couple of big trees with impressive vines but gps co ords very accurate. had to reread the description several times but finally found lying on the ground. needs new container. replaced according to hint so may stay a bit drier. tftc
We had the place to ourselves on this cool day hitch made for good searching as we veered off the track. Interesting trees. TFTC
Staying at the NZMCA in Gissy for a few days so we spent today out and about caching. We have often looked at this bush and it's caches but have never had the time to stop and do them all. Today we decided to have a go. It is a beautiful patch of bush with some fabulous mature tawa and kahikatea and well worth walking through even if you're not a geocacher. Wow what a tangle. Mr S found this one while Mrs S was still struggling to get through the undergrowth.
Thanks nzkeko.
Thanks nzkeko.
As newbies, my daughter and I set out to find, what we hoped, would be 'easy' finds at Grey's Bush.
9nly found 2 of the 4...Lol
Got worried that we were being spied on by 'muggles' at the 2nd cache, so we moved along to find the 3rd spot... Found it..,!
Shoo1

After spending considerable time looking for this cache and cursing CO's who place such small containers in an area which would accommodate a bigger container I decided to stop and reread the hint. Realising my mistake I aimed further afield and then decided to reset my ph by restarting it.
Well wouldn't you know it I happened to look down as it was restarting and spotted something tha rightfully got my hopes up. Yes there it is and I was suddenly smiling again.
Now all I have to do is find the track so I can get out of here!
Nice little Bush area well worth visiting.

What a journey first I had to find the real launch pad - seems like NASA is planning something in these .

One of 12 located in the Gisborne area on the last day of our Labour Weekend stayover. Managed to find all four in Gray’s Bush. Found this cache without too much effort. There was more effort involved in making our way to GZ from where we needed to deviate from the official track! #2812. TFTC.
Today I decided to go a drive out to the west of Gisborne seeing that it was a fine day but the nasty weather was forcasted to come in a bit later.
I found the plastic bag on the ground and replaced it 30cm above it when I left.
Cheers for the cache.

Today we made a trip from Gisborne via Opitiki to Whakatane, again at least at the end on the route of the Pacific Coast Highway, thereby visiting many new sightseeing locations and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was very good all day long, a bit colder in the morning but it got warmer in the afternoon. Funny clouds were our compagnions especially in the afternoon.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to nzkeko for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Pay Back Tree Rocket Launch-Pad (Gisborne). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
We visited 2 Caches in the Gray's Bush Scenic Reserve - both deserve for the perfect Location a favorite!
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
This was close to impossible to locate. The whole area looked like the launching station! Eventually and with a lot of patience, I got there!!! TFTC!!

We are spending a couple of nights in Gisborne, after making a spur of the moment decision to get the FTF on the new Virtual, and to collect the CANZ Gisborne cache. Having achieved those goals, we set about finding some more caches. We recall visiting and enjoying a walk in Gray's bush for a cache on our first visit to Gisborne years ago. So we were quite happy to make a return visit. Especially for three quite high terrain caches. We headed for the Pay Back Tree Rocket Launch-Pad first. After initially checking out one possible tree we soon were sure that a second was the correct GZ. But after circling it many times and checking out the places specified in the hint, we had not found the cache. We decided on one more circuit, checking everywhere this time. And finally one of us spied a plastic bag that turned out to hold the container and logbook. Whew, nearly a DNF here for us. Signed the logbook and placed the cache in a spot that matched the hint. TFTC.
DNF - Was in Gisborne seeing family as I decided that I would take the Friday off work since I was in the Hawkes Bay and drive up to see my parents.
This was the second cache that I had on my list that I wanted to find today while I was in Gisborne, having spent my early years in Gisborne I remember coming here when I was young on a school trip to see the trees, them days the trees looked a lot bigger than they do as I was quite young but I did enjoy visiting this spot.
Having left Gisborne in the new millennium to pressure new ventures and look at different opportunities, Gisborne has always had a fond place in my heart and I will always treasure coming back here and visiting it and exploring places that I have being in my youth.
Arriving at the car park there wasnt anyone else around until I got out of the car, then suddenly there was a cyclist that turned up and looked like he was going for a ride around the circuit. After a quick greeting it was time to continue on our separate ways and it was time to go into the bush and see if I could find this cache.
i decided to follow the track towards GZ and it didnt take too long before I needed to take a straight beeline towards GZ, as I neared GZ I started looking for the obvious spot that the cache could be, there was so many spots that fitted the hint so after a short search with my GPSr bouncing all over the place I decided it was time to move on, well this will give me another reason to come back here. Now time to go to the next cache in the area.

Found pretty quickly, although container is looking worn and dirty, but lots of cool "tubers" around to trip over! Tftc

Myuuuu!
I'm pretty sure I found the right tree, but there's just so many places where it could be hidden there.
And the hints don't really help either. How can it be both at the foot and yet off the ground?
The travelling fox is confused =@,@=

Shahuhugrub found this one, started at wrong tree about 10m-20m off. Circled a few times then found it. TFTC logged.
Found straight away after several attempts. Sure it wasn't in its current position last time we came. GPS all over the place. TFTC
The HOAC had to grab this one, as we needed the D/T score to achieve todays mission. After a pretty treck through this manicured bush, we quickly descended upon GZ, and the cache was quickly in hand. Gettin a favourite point for me, cause its not often you see bush areas that are wheelchair friendly...
Heading out for a day with caching mates (HKCB and RWIMF) for another epic early start to the day, did I say early start to the day (being 2am leaving Hamilton).
All in all it was a fantastic day which took us all to countryside that we had not really visited before clocking up 900 kms in 14 hours and 20 caches. Also meant that I was able to complete the final requirement for the DGSc Challenge that I had set myself as this was the final elective. Now all I have to do is work out when and how to make it to Reefton to collect the final. This single challenge has taken me 18mths to complete and required getting 2525 caches (and thats not including all the previous caches that I had to locate just to qualify to begin this particular challenge.
This was the fourteenth cache of what was to be an epic day. The mission of the day was to collect the remaining D=2.5 T=2.5 (minimium DT Rating Allowed) that I needed to collect for the above mentioned challenge. Together we signed the caches as "HOAC" to save log space.
Well with the first part of the morning completed, and a quick trip into town for the CANZ cache and more petrol we were back to it searching for a few more caches. Another nice peice of bush that we encountered on our journey and had all to ourselves. Due to time factors we could only make the one cache but will be back another time for the remainder
A nice quick find and another ticked off while trying hard not to disturb the locals
So for the start of a great day, thank you, and for the placement Thank you.

Headed down to Gisbourne with RWIMF and Cats&Dragons to grab the last few caches C&D needed for his DSGC Challenge that he's been working on for what seems like forever. With a very hard and fast set time we had to be home, this meant that with the amount of km's that we needed to cover a 2am start was needed.
All in all the day was a huge success and all the caches we attempted were found and we were back home in time too (just), also a bonus for me was that we were able to detour slightly to get the Gisbourne CANZ cache. A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements and congrats to C&D for finishing his challenge.
Hint didn't quite match where we found the cache, though I spotted it laying exposed reasonable quickly. Thanks for the hide.

Squirrel Nutcase and myself are on a road trip to the Gisborne area chasing caches with a higher D rating for our licence challenge. We visited area 3 months ago and hopefully we will have better success this time and collect anything else on the way. Day 1 was to get there first and day 2 back to Rotorua via Wairoa Napier way.
2.30pm - At first we had to find a cache for the Squirrel that I had found some time ago which he needed. On our way to this cache we came across a group of people dressed as pirates. Don't know what they were doing here but asked us to take some photos of them so why not, you don't get to see pirates normally in your caching travels. Searched for ages last time here with no luck, perhaps the pirates might give us luck with our bottie find, also received some extra info prior to coming. This time looked for hint more so than the Co Ords and made a quick find and noted we were about 20 metres away from where we searched last time. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... After five months of grief, it's time for another serious attack on our current caching license. We're heading east to target seven high difficulty caches, and anything else that catches our attention...
After a previous DNF, we decided to have another go at this one. Gap communicated with the previous finder and got some clues about the whereabouts of this one. We discovered that the cache is no longer at the listed ground zone and is now housed in a pill bottle...
On arrival, lots of things about the location appear to have changed. We followed the given hints and found the cache, and it is several metres away from where we searched last time. We're not sure if this one is viable anymore... TFTC.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Our target today was to find caches with difficulty ratings of 2.5 and greater. Gap spied a whole lot in the Gisborne region... Road trip. It rained on and off throughout the day, making conditions slippery underfoot and slow-going at times. Weather coupled with quite a few DNFs made this a bit of a disappointing mission. Nevertheless, we soldiered on, as we do...
This one was a disappointment... We think we searched under the right tree, but had trouble with our equipment under the tree cover. We wasted far too much time on this one.

Great Wall and worth the effort. Bit of a challenge to find but got there in the end. Tftc
Checked on this one after owner got a DNF, but again safe and in fact found a bit in the open, so we covered it over again. Do be aware it is no longer a film canister, but updated to a small container silver in colour and you will know it when you see it as not from around the area. Happy caching
We really wanted to find this one as it would fill a spot on our D/T grid, but although we searched for ages, we had no luck. We couldn't find the last cachers camo pyramid, although we must have searched under every likely (and unlikely) place. Wonderful tree!
Nice reserve - wouldn't have thought to stop here otherwise - Thanks.
Cache was a bit easy as it was just sitting on the ground, so buried under the "Cacher's Pyramid". Thanks

Yaaaaay! TFTC. Would say terrain is far too high though as i did it very easily with a baby on my back.
Tried this one about a year ago and it wasnt there.. good to finally get it. Cheers
Went for meander around Grays Bush, nice spot on a hot day to get out of the sun lovely and cool in amongst the massive trees shame there is so few patches of bush like this around lots of birds twittering on a hot summers day. Found cache took a few minutes but the GPS on my phone narrowed it down well, didn't really understand the second part of the hint. Cache container was in sight once I looked in the correct place. I placed it back exactly as found as I wasn't sure of exactly how it should be hidden TFTC
Despite the helpful information, it took me a few minutes to get where I needed to be. Not surprisingly, the logsheet is completely dry. TFTC.
Despite the accurate coordinates and hint, it took quite while find this cache. TFTC
Taking the dogs for a walk, decided to have a look for this one. Dogs thought we were mad, but we found the cache! Too bad we didn't have a pen. We took a photo of the log to prove we were there. [^]
Took quite a while to find this cache - being dark still didn't help things!

So many items matching hint within the margin of error under this tree cover. Searched at one in particular and several others. No needle found in this haystack today!
Found it at last!!! We have been trying to log this one for a while now, so pleased that we can finally cross it off our list. TFTC cheers SiLiRy
Insanely difficult cache. Took us more then an hour to find this one! Overcast sky, thick foliage, impossible to get a fix. And nzkeko, you have amazing imagination! Every fricking tree looks like a launchpad now, haha! TFTC, wicked place!
The cache itself was just a container with a logbook with the zip-lock bag around the container. Was that supposed to be like that? We left it as it was...

I couldn't get the Launch Pad theme going so was a bit misled, but agree the terrain was 4 as one of us face planted by tripping on the vines.
