Came by today not realizing there were it had issues. Looked for 20 minutes in the logical spot according to the hint. Eventually gave up.
Suggest this needs CO maintenance.

Hi Hojamohoho,

Looks like the container is gone. If you like I can put a replacement in, I work pretty close by.

Cheers,

D'oh, should have read the logs.

I too found just the Velcro.

Like the few before me I found some Velcro but no cache
Thanks for the hunt.

Found the Velcro too but no cache.

This one was still in my GPS, so I went to get it despite the feeling of déjà vu. However a quick hunt led to the finding of the cache location but no cache. Just the Velcro is left.... CO to attend to.

21:11 | #516 | Souvenir #26

Originally solved on 31/01/12. Almost 1.5 years later, I went out to find the cache. Drove near to the GZ and parked. Made my way to the GZ with GPSr in hand. Tried a few spots amongst jogging/cycling/walking muggles. Was wondering what I was missing, when I decided to do a quick sweep with the torch and the cache was illuminated! The cache container is in good condition, but as mentioned previously, the log book is saturated, and I couldn't sign it - used the "Found by GemJay" stamp instead!

I was looking for an area to target to ensure that I found a cache for the day for a souvenir for the 31 days on August and this area had a couple of caches that I hadn't found.

I had this puzzle solved soon after it was published as I enjoy this type of puzzle. However, I have never been in the right place to be able to search for this cache.

Today I took a stroll and I was surprised by the historic place that the walk took me to. I didn't know this building was here. There was a muggle strolling around where I wanted to search and for a while I wondered if it was another cacher so I moved away for a while and the muggle eventually departed without looking for a cache so I assume that he was only a muggle.

Once he was out of sight and there were no joggers insight I checked out the area and soon had the cache in hand. As previous logs have noted the log is very damp but still signable. I wiped some water from the container and replaced it upside down so that it won't get any more water in it.

TFTC. A fav point for me for the puzzle and the location.

21-Aug-13
The 31 Days of Geocaching in August gave me the impetus I needed to come and collect this long-solved puzzle at last. After work, I headed for this corner of Brisbane, found a convenient parking spot and walked along past interesting historical remnants to GZ. Here, I had to wait and wait while surreptitiously looking for likely hiding spots as oodles of muggles went past. There were cyclists and joggers and pram pushers and photographers and amblers and soccer-ball-kicking kids and sitters... Every man and his dog was out! With the aid of my phone, I searched where I could, probed this spot and that, but couldn't find it, couldn't find it, couldn't find it Sad. In despair, I called a previous finder, who suggested I extend my search a little further. Now, in my defense, I hadn't done so as I thought I knew what the hint meant, but as it turns out, I was misled. Even now I don't get it... But it doesn't matter, because I did get the cache! So, retreating a short distance to sign it, I found the paper too damp for my pen to sign. I left what imprint I could, tissued the container dry, and took a photo to confirm I'd found it before waiting for a break in which to replace the hide. That done, it was off into the setting sun and home. TFTC, Hojamohoho. =^.^=

StreetWalker is the Sudoku king in this household, so he was given the task of solving.
Finding the cache took quite some effort. After unsuccessfully searching for a few minutes, and with the constant stream of muggles, we decided to use the hint but this confused us and the only thing that seemed to fit was definitely not 1 star terrain. Anyway, StreetWalker jumped over the fence and had a look. He was about to give up, and I asked him if he had looked here, a spot that I could reach but couldn't see. Then my fingers touched the cache! Can't believe he didn't see it from that side of the fence.
Good to make the find. A very nice area, thanks for bringing me here.

Was in New Farm to visit Laserbeakman's exhibition so decided to pick up a few caches while there. I solved this one quite a while ago but finally out this way so able to pick it up. It was rather rainy which wasn't so pleasant but it mean fewer muggles were around. TFTC

another solved moved to the found folder woohoo

lucky we only loaded it into the GPS this morning cause the printed sheet still had the old clue on

find once we used the new one and the area made more sense

enjoyed watching all the birds chase a trawler up and down the river [xx(]

Out this way tidying up the area and this was one of two puzzles in our solved folder that needed to be collected.

Took a bit at first reading the original sheet, but bringing up the new one in the GPS, soon had the cache in hand.

Log is fairly damp, but still able to sign.

tidying up some caches whilst working in the city. A splendid Sunday morning for the hunt. Walked to GZ along the river. A few muggles about, but nicely strung out. Read a sign at GZ until a break in traffic. Made the grab and retreated to a bench to sign. The log is quite damp and the winter sunshine was not strong enough to dry it out.

I did like the log by the worker who cleared the vines and found the cache Wink Another nice break in the traffic to rehide Smile

Nice puzzle. Good spot, I hope we get the trumpets back!

11-Apr-13
Dropped by today to check on the cache as the redevelopment works in the area now seem to have been completed.

I've update the clue as the former clue (golden trumpet vine) is no longer relevant. It's a shame, as the place looked great when the vine was in flower and was the main reason for placing the cache here. The history of the wharf has been preserved though, so take the time to read the various panels (perhaps while waiting for a gap between muggles).

06-Apr-13
Unfortunately the hint is no longer helpful. Someone (BCC?) has removed the items that once pointed to this cache.

Fortunately I was able to find some remaining signs of their existence and locate the cache.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

Male Membsec hates having Sudoku's not solved because they are his favourite puzzles, he does at least one a day. This one took a while but the solution was eventually obtained and then it just sat there waiting for the right time to arrive.
Today we were looking for our nearest "unfound" location and this one appeared. Off we went and found a park near-by. very pleasant walk along the river (thankfully no longer flooded) and a much quicker find than the puzzle solving. Everything dry and in order despite recent weather.

Solving this puzzle took me forever, but I am proud to say that perseverence and grey matter got me the result, not an online solver.

A rainy old Friday night and watching the older kids at Swimming Club didn't appeal, so I took the youngest crookedkid on an adventure, collecting a couple of caches along the way. A short walk from our car park found us at GZ. No golden trumpets today, but I quickly recognised the hint. A nice quick find in the first place I looked - right where Mr Garmin said 0 metres.

Cache was nice and dry. Glad to have a smilie here finally.

Solved this tricky one a little while back, I'll be honest, I had to employ some help with it.

Came out with geoson on this warm afternoon while brownsnakemob was up the road at the dentist. Well, we had to so something while we were waiting. As soon as we arrived at gz, we'd had 2 minutes to look around and it was time to leave as the dentist was finished. Brownsnakemob was happy to come back and look around, so after explaining the situation with him we set about our search and I found it quite quickly.

Thanks hojomahoho for the puzzle and the cache.

This was hard! Took quite a while to solve the puzzle...with some help from a solver in the end. Made what I thought looked likely coordinates, and off we go. Quite a bit of work has occurred around the area, I wasn't sure if this had affected the cache site. Couldn't find it. Plugged into Google earth to confirm that this was the likely spot. Returned today and after a poke around the general area, finally found it. Great puzzle cache, thanks Hojamohoho.

YES! As we were logging all of the caches found while on the 'road trip' North with G Cookie and MVMB we were wondering if we had found any D2½/T1 caches.
Think we need to find ONE more (plus probably a few other combos) before we can qualify for Cookie's 3 x 3 x 3 Challenge cache. When that one is found then we can place our own Challenge cache to challenge him Wink
While we enjoy the average sudoku this would have taken us a while, so were grateful that Cookie had solved this one before.
No muggles today. Cache dry, not sure if we replaced the ziploc bag.

(Late logging of Find - 1/2/13) Found with MAP's and Cookie while on a road trip North.
Nice to be able to share the driving rather than having to pedal.
Sudokus are more of Cookies thing, so it was nice that he'd worked it out before we headed North.

Find #977

Alkzura and I were out celebrating his birthday at a nearby restaurant when he reminded me we had this one on our solved list. With dinner done and plenty of time left for a spot of caching before our babysitter turned into a pumpkin we walked down to pick it up. It only took a moment. I said what about there, Alk reached around and next thing we were signing a log. TFTC

1350 Having planned our road trip, with MAP's and MVMtBiker for a couple of weeks we had been able to solve a few of the many puzzles in Brisbane. Quite and incentive to come back and do a heap more.
Coordinates good, and cache nice and dry. Not too many muggles, but enough to keep me on my toes.
TNLN, unable to leave a Correct Site Marker - wouldn't fit.

20/12/12 Find #957

This one had been in my solved list for a very long time, and on more than one occasion I found myself overlooking the GZ from the nearby structure, but didn't really have the opportunity to visit the GZ itself.

Tonight NyletaM and I were out and about nearby, and headed for a nice stroll down past the GZ. The area was reasonably deserted, and it didn't take long to locate the cache.

We signed the log, and waited for an opportunity to replace it without being seen.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache Hojamohoho

A few days of nutting this one out was finally rewarded. Those construction guys at GZ made it difficult to finally snatch the cache. Well planned and thought out GC. A lot of fun. TFTC

The art of Ninja Caching is to nip out from a non-geocaching personal event (as if anything is ever non-geocaching in my little world) and score a quick smilie Smile and return with noone the wiser, or for that matter having noticed your brief absence. "A solved puzzle is a traditional" - usually Wink, and is thus a candidate for Ninja Caching.

In the area for a musical event with friends, I had the opportunity to disappear on a 'smoking' break - as a non-smoker I decided to attend to my own addiction. And being a prepared geocacher, the GPSr was primed and I'd already checked the area out. This solved puzzle beckoned to me. It's been sitting in my GSAK database forever. Vague recollections of having wrestled with it until I found an easier approach, but it was a long time ago.

Bit of maintenance work going on right at GZ had me a tad concerned, and the hint was a bit obscure for me, but a little bit of a lightbulb moment and I had it in my hand a moment later. Neat. Quickly signed, outwaited a passing muggle, returned it and was back at the concert healthier, happier and slightly quicker than the smokers!Big Grin

Thanks for placing this cache, Hojamohoho. Found in good condition.

Found with Captain Terror during our horrible idea of going caching in the inner city area. We walked to this one and hoped like hell we could actually get it. There were construction guys parked mere centimetres from the cache and working a few metres away. After about ten minutes of watching we noticed a pattern which gave CT time to pounce in for the grab. We signed the log and next round he quickly rehid it. Thanks for the cache

There seems to be a disturbing trend with these killer puzzles popping up. Lucky for me (I guess you could say that) I had been hard at work solving some others around the area. When I saw this one, I figured I'd bump it off too. I thought it was one of the easier to solve, but still, a challenge all the same. I then just saved the corrected co-ords for a day when I was in the area.

Today I was in the area with Net88 and we walked along the esplande towards GZ. As we approached, the GPS pointed us right at a construction worker's ute. Not all bad.. except that the works were doing some concrete re-inforcing metres from the cache. Not wanting to make a DNF on this after the effort of solving, we waited. And waited. And waited. I'd say about 15 minutes. The workers had no idea how closely I was watching them. The hint gave me an idea and when the worker's were both heads down I dashed in. Thankfully I put my hand on the cache, first try. I was back out of there and signing in record speed. But then the workers appeared again and I feared no being able to rehide the cache. But we waited. And waited, but only about 5 minutes before they were both heads down again, I ducked in, felt the right spot and replaced with the stealth of a thousand ninjas (I think Razz). Well, we sure earnt our difficulty rating here today. Thanks for the puzzle and a not bad spot for the final. TFTC Hojamohoho Smile

Out and about with my geospouse T-Tech on a glorious winter afternoon.

Since we had very little time this morning I threw this one through an online solver. Had to think a bit to extract the co-ords, but evince agreed with me. This afternoon we spent some time at New Farm Park and added this walk to our day. Nice hint Smile Had to dodge a few walkers to get the cache, but T-Tech did the deed. TFTC, Hojamohoho. I'm pleased to add this is my 100th puzzle cache Big Grin

Out and about with IolantheK getting some caches today.

IolantheK had done the hard yards on the Sudoku and had worked out the GZ co-ords earlier. So as we were close to the final co-ords having a picnic lunch we decided to finish this one off. At GZ the Hint helped tremendously, we bided our time between passer-byes and eventually located the container, signed the log and then between more passer-byes relocated the cache.

The cache is dry and in good condition.

I thought I was used to these puzzles, but this one took me several hours, before an epiphany occurred and I could get it out.

The cache was easy to locate, but waiting for the muggles to clear was much harder (one cyclist even stopped at the GZ to take a photo with her iPad). Once clear, grabbed the cache, signed log (left the monkey there) and returned it.

Geowife and I then went on and finished our Sunday walk.

The last few months seem to have been filled with Killer Sudokus, but luckily this one seemed to come out more easily than most. Today was the day we were in the area, and keen to see what was new around here. The answer is: a huge number of things. A beautiful morning meant muggles everywhere, so it took a while for us to have a clear path. Luckily it was right where I wanted it to be, and we were on a bench doing the biz in no time. TFTC Hojomohoho: a very scenic and pleasant part of the world.

God I hate whoever invented Soduko....

These things don't play well with my mind...

Thank god for on-line solvers & friends who understand this convoluted logic..

Arrived & GZ with Ghostgums & MrMeccano - what a great use of this area except just here there is a total waste of a jetty all in the desire to be a nan state...

Sure it's looking a bit 2nd hand but for anyone who wasn't born in the last 30 years it would have been considered a popular fishing spot as a kid (but we all knew take care or you'll get hurt - & if you get hurt well it was your fault - you didn't need to blame someone else - not sure progress is really progress sometimes)

Anyway arriving & GZ Ghostgums soon had cache in hand & we signed the log

I had just completed the Killer Sudoku series from Agap2 when a new one popped up on the radar... Ooh, let me see to this I thought... [^]

I took a while to get a result and even then, I missed the additional twist at first and thought I had the wrong solution... Surprised A quick change in approach had that sorted though and long before the solved puzzle was tossed aside in frustration... Wink

Final coords on hand, I tapped them into Google earth and the location looked good. After a rather big night in the city for a Christmas function, Bubbly_One and I set about finding the container as the first for the day. It was a slow approach and I was grateful B1 moved in for the extraction. My head was not at all in a place that permitted lowering it too far down... Twisted

We made use of the convenient pillar at GZ for business and dropped it back swiftly. There were a few muggles wandering along but not too many that we had to abort the hunt... Big Grin

I do enjoy these puzzles! Had fun working this one out and it all came together quite quickly. IT's not that we don't like Sudokus, it's just that we keep them for the bus trip home from work and if there not done they go in the bin when we get off the bus. This one will have to wait for Xmas for a bit more time to spend on solving by hand.

GZ was pretty quiet at GZ at 5:30am but a walker would appear from no-where every 30 secs or so which made it interesting.

Hopefully nobody was enjoying their morning coffee and watching us from the windows all around GZ.

Well done EngPhil. Good to get the first cache hide up and running and glad you enjoyed the challenge.

I've checked the coordinates in the puzzle and in evince and i must apologise, as i uploaded the wrong image. All should be good now and hopefully the coordinates a little more accurate. Both the former and new puzzle solution will get you to GZ, the current should be a little more accurate though.

Happy Caching.

#607: *FTF* at 17:45.

Well, the puzzle only took me about six attempts Red Face but eventually a solution presented itself over lunch. Unfortunately, back at my desk, evince kept giving me the red hand. I was about to drop a line to the owner when Lat&Long Junkie's note came through. Hmm, could it be.... we compared notes and had both come to the same solution. OK, so either the puzzle is wrong or the evince is wrong. Twisted GZ looked good on the map, so I offered to meet up with L&LJ at our calculated GZ in the hope that it was evince that was wrong, but he was unable to get there. So... off I set.

I ended up at a spot that looked pretty much like the satellite photo, but it was only once I got there that I understood the hint and was confident I was in the right place. Sure enough, spot on where the GPS said it should be, I found a film canister. Smile Muggles were everywhere, but paid no attention as, under cover of a couple of (legitimate, even!) work-related phone calls, the cache was retrieved, log signed and replaced. Deed done, it was back to the car and off home!

TFTC, Hojamohoho. Good job on your first hide. I enjoyed the mental challenge on this one (but not so much the errant evince! Twisted)!
