On my way to Tauranga to play bridge and getting some caches on the way. All good with the cache. Thanks
Cache log is saturated and unable to be written in, and the CO is no longer active.
Having spent the beginning of the weekend in Wanganui, it was time to make my way back home to Wellington. I chose to go the long way, via a few caches that I wanted to get, and a few that I had previously missed, and a few that were just there. A great piece of history here. Sadly the cache log is saturated and unable to be written in.---Thanks to Skindo for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Just came from a nearby power trail this was on the way home We ending up caching for about 6 hours today.Log was unsignable and needs to be replaced by someone. Im aware skindo is no longer active so hopefully this doesnt get archivedI wrote in the log and placed the cache carefully back as found. TFTC. Thanks skindo for this Traditional cache! skindo , !Logged on 16 December 2023 at 3:25PM#801th find
Quick find. Log was completely saturated - which I see was mentioned quite some time ago. Will log owner maintenance. TFTC .
Log was saturated - we popped a new piece of paper in but could do with checking and a new log
Very wet log so took a photo. I didn't want to try and write on it. Thanks for the history and the stop
All it took was a leap of faith across the ditch and it was mine! Logbook saturated but I did my best to sign it. TFTC
I think it has been a while since I found a skindo cache. I've driven past here a few times and did not know there was an airfield here, so thanks for the history lesson! TFTC
Interesting history here, easy find, damp log but great to add another Skindo cache to my list.
#4 for the day. Thanks for bringing me here. Now must fly to the next one but no planes on the airfield
1074. 3:10 pm. DNF avenged. Last time I was here the cache had flown away but this time it was in the hangar. TFT(replaced)C.
TFTC Heading home to Ruatoria from Feilding. Picking up cache on the way 1158 hrs
Thanks skindo for the cache. It’s #1366 for us. We found your cache on 4 January 2021. Very interesting stop!
Found at 7 September 2020 2:43 pm.
I'm on a two-day geocaching roadtrip, logging my finds as I go (where possible). Will expand when I get home. TFTC

Out and about today to celebrate my birthday. A bit of a weird vibe this year, what with all the issues around Covid-19, but with Level 3 in place we had a bit of latitude so long as the Rules were strictly observed. Stay within our regions, and within 75km. Stay within our bubbles. Practice social distancing. Those last two were easy as I didn't see another person all day.
I picked out a few caches to do today that I knew would be reasonably remote, and not likely to have been handled in a while. Most of what I found today hadn't been found in at least 6 weeks, and some of them not since last year. And I had my trusty bottle of hand sanitizer with me.
This was a straightforward find and there were no issues with the cache or the log, which was signed before returning everything back as I found it and moving onto the next.
Thank you for placing this cache.

Thanks for the info on the history of this structure and the area. Cache was a quick find, all good today. TFTC
On way to somewhere else but found this on the way.
Interesting. Pleased I stopped. TFTC

It’s not often I have the whole day to cache and set off early to try and collect as many Shield caches as possible. On the way there I picked up a few traditionals. Cache all fine.
Shame no airplanes for me also but have to thank the previous cacher for replacing the cache.
Looks like cache was displaced when they ran a new cable up the pole. We replaced it. Thanks skindo!
On our own mega weekend with Infoferret, Jude_E, and NosyNel - 2 North Islanders and 2 Mainlanders - what can we get up to? We have found all the Shield caches and now are collecting others. Signed as JEN. TFTC
On a geocaching adventure with Infoferret, Nosynel and Ethness. Signed logs as J.E.N.I. Thank you for the cache. No trouble finding this.

JENI JudeE Ethness Nosynel and InfoFerret are heading home today. We completed the shield yesterday and now we are having fun on the trip back.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Electrical lines being moved below ground. I highly suspect that the cache has been muggled.
Stopped here while passing as I hadn't yet found the cache. Yeetrees knew where it should have been but work at GZ meant that the cache had gone.
Cache replaced - slightly new location: HINT - Half way between the Power pole and the Plaque triangular post
Today was “SHIELD” day. Yeetrees, -gonefishing- and I were heading up to attempt the SHIELD series of caches on the back roads of Manawatu. It was an early start (5.35am) out of Wellington. After over 7 hours of caching we achieved the series plus a few more. My personal tally for the day – 117 finds. Thankyou to all the CO’s of the caches found.
Apologies for the generic and slightly late logging (27 March). Catching up on a backlog of caching to keep things in order.

Heading north now and getting some kms behind us but always good to stop and stretch the legs albeit briefly while we stopped to collect this one on the way. TFTC
6/2016. Found logbooks mounted swampy unreadable and unrecoverable blobs. Replaced. And added swag.
Up for the Mega for the week, had a great day in the Bulls and the sunrounding areas many thanks to the cache placer's - Bitsprayer
Quick find while taking the scenic route from Wanganui to Palmerston North. TFTC
On our way back to Auckland from Feilding, but we have a few caches to find first.
We like these interesting historic monuments. The cache was a quick find thanks.

Some of the Jr. Cachers had swim training in Feilding so took the opportunity to grab a few caches further out towards Cheltenham. A quick, easy find in an interesting spot that we've driven past a number of times but never stopped to visit. Signed the replacement log, however not sure how long this will last without a ziplock bag to keep the moisture at bay. Hadn't really planned to grab caches today so didn't have any replacement logs on hand - will keep an eye on this one and might look to drop a waterproof log in. Thanks for bringing us here Skindo.
Easily found
Cache all wet, replaced the log but unfortunately had no spare plastic bags on me.

Off on a drive to Palmy North, grabbing some easy driveby's on the way. Log wet.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Time for another geocaching trip with my matey 2 Bulbars, having just lost our good geocaching buddy Priceless Time (Michael Price) we decided that the best thing we could do was a weekend out caching in his memory. RIP Priceless, our thoughts are with you on your caching journey. So, after a quick drive down from New Plymouth we got into the caches: on Day 1, first to the west of Bulls then to the East and South finally into Fielding for the night and a few urban caches. Day 2 work our way back north and east to the CITO at the Rangiwahia bush track. Then back out to civilisation and home. So for this one it’s mission accomplished, this one is a wrap.TFTC! On a weekend mission with Cats&Dragons, for a bit of a numbers run along the new trails around the Northern Manawatu area, and anything else along the way. As usual these types of trips mean maximizing caching time and minimizing sleep time. So with a 2am start time Saturday morning we left home and headed South, and not getting back home til 8.30pm Sunday night. Some numbers for the trip as I know we all like caching stats are:
* 1450km traveled.
* 286 caches found (192 on Saturday, 94 on Sunday) with only 3 DNF's
* 4 hours sleep
* With a 3 hour each way drive to the Caching area, so about 32 hours of caching in the 42 hours we were away at an average of nearly 9 caches per hour, this isn't including stopping for fuel and coffee!!!
So a huge thanks to all the CO's for the placements, and for the reason to see some more of our wonderful country, we saw some pretty amazing places. Sorry for the copy and paste logs. We signed the log books HKCD, or HKCBC&D.

A very interesting place to stop...if not for the cache would have whizzed by so thank you. Love these little bits of NZ history we find as we cache along. Cache soon in hand. Thanks for the cache.
Nearly at our destination after 8 hours of travelling and spotted this quick park and grab. A quick find but then we lost the pen as Mrs HeMaLuDy threw it across the ditch to purply. It took 3 of us to find the pen. Found with purply and darthcacher1.
On my way back to Tauranga from visiting father
Thought I'd take the back road for a change of scenery and to grab a few caches.
Log is damp.

Fielding Day 2
They say that life is not all about geocaching, so we did the right thing & spent the morning with the relations looking around town. After lunch we heading back to where we had been the previous day as a stack of the new caches had been published.
Once again it was a great tiki tour of the farming area, lots of lambs to be seen in the paddocks.
Thanks for placing this cache skindo

I came down to Palmeston North for a conference on Sunday night. The days were long and I took the opportunity to network with lots of like minded people but by the end of it all my brain was well and truly full and I was looking forward to getting home and back to some semblance of normality. I left late in the afternoon but still managed to grab a few Geocaches on my way home to Hamilton. Due to some GPS issues I missed this one when I came by this way on my arrival so it was nice to grab it on my way out. TFTC.
#1877 As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

One of the many caches we found on our campervan journey from Lower Hutt to Tauranga. A mighty and enjoyable journey through many great and iconic parts of the north island. Many thanks to the many CO's for the great cache placements and for bringing us to new places. Sorry for the generic log.
Workers hard at it unloading bales directly across the road, so we parked to shield the find and quickly departed. TFTC
Heading to Feilding and grabbing some caches on the way. An interesting piece of local history which I had to check out which also resulted in a quick find. Thanks for the placement skindo.
Had been out this way a few times but not realised I was passing not only an old airfield but another skindo cache too... Didn't stop earlier today as farmer/contractors were busy in the field on the other side of the road. All quiet now though so added my name to the log... TFTC, TNLNSL,
The clue definitely only made sense when we arrived - i had no idea how we were going to figure out but on arrival it soon became clear. found quickly and tankful for the replacement log as the previous one was in many bits and in today's wind a few went flying - we manged to retrieve them all though. TFTC
My father-in-law used to regularly come up to Feilding for microlighting. I presume this was the airfield he used. TFTC
It was here that Mr P realised he had forgotten to fill up the tank and there were no petrol stations for miles and we didn't have enough petrol for a long trip -so back to feilding we went. T4tc
After a short hike in the Ruahines this morning, I stopped for a few caches on my way down to Masterton for the night. A quick find here, TFTC!
Last find on the road, Nice and quick. Thanks.
Time to head home, next stop Palmerston North.
Thanks for the hide.

Found on a caching road trip on our way to Taupo for the cycle challenge. With metal-art.
A cool piece of history that I have never noticed after passing here 100s of times before TFTC
On a bit of a roadtrip to Turangi with bkj97. He decided on an early 5am start and breakfast in Feilding so it was obvious he was planning a few caches on the way. This was number 9 for the day. Landed our tiger moth on the roadway as the field was a bit vegetated for our propeller.T4TCSL
Found with little blue hen on the way to Turangi by a rather circuitous route via Fielding. Only had to circle the airfield twice to check for a landing spot. TFTCSL
A quick find but not possible to land an aircraft here at the moment..the crop in the field is about two metres high!TFTC!
#1062 Out on a mish to Kimbolton with Nic-Jay and collecting some caches on the way there and back. Interesting spot and a quick find. TFTC!
On the road again with Gap (of Fap and Gap). Up at the crack of dawn to travel down-country to an event in Kimbolton... The things we do for an August Souvenir.
Spotted the concrete marker and then found the cache. This is an interesting piece of local history. TFTC.

This Sunday was designated a "Caching Day" due to an event and a CITO in Kimbolten, as well as some new caching and a nice little back country road power trail. With the 4WD loaded up with SpudNZ, Tommygun9, Myself and Baby Tommygun9 we headed off to complete a 50 cache day. During the day we partnered up with Firewoof and Adventure Collectors to become Team FASTA (some of the nano logs needed space saving). At one cache we met so many people it almost became "Team EVERYONE" and an impromptu event!
Some pretty cool history here! Quick find TFTC

Today's mission was a good one; 50 caches, getting my bronze CITO and FTF Addict badges, moving from bronze to silver in both the Mysterious Cacher and Social Cacher badges and going up a belt! And, probably most importantly, becoming part of team FASTA which, along our travels, took part in probably one of the largest unplanned cache convergences this region has ever seen.
I would not have expected to find a monument like this out here so thank you very much Skindo! Very interesting.
