With rebel98 on a short trip away to Christchurch. All our dates written in the logs are wrong woops, luckily this online log is the correct date
I tried, I really, really tried, but the cache did not want to be found. Sorry Aslan* a DNF for us today

I am planning a maintenance trip to this one before Christmas so will hopefully be back soon. Aslan
Another DNF I'm afraid. Had a good look but given it's so large I don't think I would have missed it
Found on a nightly walk from Lyttelton to Diamond Harbour with G, Ross and Dave.
found this log in the phone not sent ? due to reception or user error:
Its a day off so time to hit the hills and distress and just have a crack and a little wander, got to the GZ and heard a whistle and got in behind, boom found fine and dandy. TFTC Aslan*

Never knew this was here. Fancy someone building that! Filled my water bottle up. Cache signed and that's it for today. Thanks for placing. #3170
The weather forecast being less than promising we decided to do a series of drive-by caches and short walks rather than our customary Sunday afternoon walks.
After years of driving by here we had never noticed the fountain! Thanks for pointing it out.

#3,253: Fountain of Smilies!
This is a perfect place for a cache! Such a cool thing. Gets a fav point from me.

Finding a few caches while enjoying a drive and the views. Enjoyed a quick drink - but the wrinkles haven't gone yet! TFTC
Out for a walk and some caching in the autumn sunshine. The cache was a quick find in a spot we would never have noticed if it weren't for geocaching. TFTC.
What a great spot. How many years have I been driving past it without seeing it. Thanks so much for putting a cache here. My lovely husband had a drink from the Fountain and is now 38 (....he tells me).
Found at the end of a loop around making the crater rim, down through Omaha reserve and back along the road. Geodog was happy to get a nice cool drink here. Great spot that I never New existed, thanks for bringing us here!
During my Geocaching trip at the Summit Road I had of course a stop at this box.
Quick find. Really cool spot for a watering place

StreetWalker and I took advantage of the fine but coolish weather to head for the hills to find a few caches but took the scenic route via a few previous DNFs to see if we could change them into smiles.
After a few steepish walks, it was great to have a drive by! We were worried to see a couple of cyclists at GZ, but they left while we were parking, luckily. A quick find for SW. Didn't know there was a spring here, so an interesting feature. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.

#14518. An interesting feature; well worth a cache. When we stopped a couple of cyclists were filling their water bottle, but by the time we got out of the car they were on their way. TFTC.
See previous log for TheBuddyolpals. We just realised we have 2similar accounts so are merging them.
Found while on a Thursday drive. A quick cache and dash, on a great driving road. TFTC TNLN SL
I had a great time finding caches along the summit road today! The whole area was very quiet and the views were great. This is one of the reasons I love geocaching, finding cute little spots like this one, TFTC!
A fabulous day to go caching with The Burnsy. We decided to drive around Summit Road and pick up a few caches. Burnsy had an injured foot and I had an injured neck so we made a pretty good pair. Our tactic for the day was to stick to caches closest to the road, so as not to strain ourselves. What a cool fountain. I don't think I would've noticed it if not for the cache. It was pretty cool watching the sea fog roll in over the hills too. Tftc.
Enjoying holidaying down South with tmann421. More wet weather today.
Really enjoy coming across places like this. Found this one after a short search. TFTC

On holiday with just-Lookin - out last day before flying home.
We found this cache fairly quickly with showers of rain around.
Just about daylight now - liked the feature here.

Fountain of youth looking a big old and out of life today. Nothing but the occasional drip into nasty looking green water. The sound track provided by the birds was excellent, the view was also of a high degree. Cheers.
Great title - if it was the fountain of youth, I was not drinking out of it today...too much growing in it! A great relic from the past which also provided a quick find - TNLNSL. Thanks for the placement at a great spot Asian*.
I just couldn't find it and I searched for ages. The most obvious hiding place had a plastic bag and chocolate wrappers in it. What looked like a dead hedgehog in the water was attracting lots of flies.
I was out with BaldEd picking some caches that he hadn't signed off and needless to say that I hadn't signed off. This was one just for me.
Cheers for the cache.

A magic location with awesome views and a beaut old historic fountain, I had no idea it was even here! TFTC Aslan*, #8181
Drove past this one before we realised and had to U Turn further on. Managed to tuck the truck in far enough off the road and then a quick find for Ice Angel. Interesting wee spring... took a sip..just in case but feel no younger yet.
Great find, easily found, great place for a cache! Loved the comment in the log book from someone who clearly wasn't a cacher!
#14 of 19 today. This was one of a few that Bo had already found. He kindly stopped the truck, though, so I could add my name to the log. Removed some inappropriate "swag" - a beer bottle label, beer bottle cap, and several coffee crystal sachets (the rules state no food products to keep pests away). There was a bit of water in the container but the double bagged log was dry.

Great spot to be shown . Walked a few km along the Crater Rim track and back past here. Thanks
With quinella. We'd walked one way on track and went back along road. Was quiet up here today. Tftc
An interesting spot, but just a dribble today. Had a chat with a couple of cyclists patiently waiting for their water bottles to fill.

Nice easy find on random drive along Port Hills. Added extra bag to help keep dry. TFTC.
This fountain would be easy to drive past! Thanks for slowing us down and giving us a cache to find.
TFTC SL. Easy find. Lovely wee fountain. Left swaps - yellow car, blue heart & gold coin. What a lucky day for me !!!!!
Easy pickup. Could stop easily on this quiet road.
Noticed that the water was dripping bit by bit....so no flow with this hot weather

I pulled up here in the fog / cloud and on the otherside of the road was a man cutting the grass with a hand mower. Odd, but good to see someone looks after the road side. Cheers.
Due to I got sick we drove more or less directly to Akaroa but not without a stop to find this cache. Thanks a lot for placing the box.
The summit road is full of surprises, and this is another one even for us seasoned visitors. Thanks for making us stop and pay attention
Was a nice walk in the bush to find this cache, which was found after a short search. Great views up here. It's a shame that there was so much rubbish at the track start, from a worldwide Scottish restaurant. Thanks for the cache.

Had to wait for muggels filling their water bottles to leave first. Quick find once they had left. TFTC
Never even knew that was here. Found with munta and sayhelloegg.

One of many finds for the day out with Say Hello Egg and Rusty2337. Nice easy find, tftc.
Another quick find on the Sumnit Road, we need to find some more like this to have a lot of smileys in the Port Hills. TFTC
Easy find, nice to see the drinking fountain installed early last centrury still being used as intended.

Easy find once we'd moved the objects on top.... TFTC, a lovely little spot...
This as to be my last cache on a circuitous route from Selwyn Huts, Greenpark Huts, Motukarara - and then the Summit Road.
I wouldn't have noticed this Fountain without the cache. TFTC.
