No luck today luooks like new barrier again and decided not to carry on as road to dangerous
Find number 3949. I had come up to the Country Music Festival in Paihia and managed to find some of the north bound series on the way up. On my way home so collecting some more of the series. After parking up I walked over to GZ a little concerned as it appeared that a recent crash had wiped out the end wooden pole. But cache was all good. In a slightly different hide though. Thank you for the placement.
Found on way to Bay of Islands, on returned home we realised we had missed logging. Hence late log
Was going to get this one on the way out to Whananaki North for the day. Unfortunately this had to wait as there was a nasty car accident a few meters from this cache. Fortunately no one lost their lives but it was a very serious one. Came back later in the day and collected the cache. May want a maintenance check a bit down the track as the end barrier pole has been hit and damaged - cache still there but it will more than like be replaced soon.
Could you please delete the 2 dnf,as I definitely did find it and logged it not sure what happened
On our way back to Auckland after visiting the Hundertwasser toilets in Kawakawa. Picked this up as there was a break in the rain. The sun is still shining. Thanks Riser5 and MiniMaxy.
Signed and returned and then the rain appeared lid becoming detached from geocontainer. TFTC
Heading back home to Auckland after visiting North for the long weekend and thought we would grab a few of these quick finds on the trip back down. Another quick find here, thanks for the hide.

Took my best friend for a drive out to Helena Bay as she's been in the UK for the last 3 years and is now moving to Wellington next weekend- did some quick park and grabs on the way as we didn't have a lot of extra time on our hands. TFTC
Taking the opportunity to grab some caches during my week long visit up to gather some caches. Heading back south now. Quick stop here and cache in the likely spot. TFTC
After spending the weekend in Paihia we had to drive back to Auckland. Decided to stop at a few "roadside" caches on the way home to break up the trip. Cache was well hidden and quickly spotted. Signed the log book and continued on our way home. TFTC.
The Squirrel and my plans for the weekend was to log as many old caches as possible to go towards completing another challenge. This meant a lot of kilometres driving and a bit of forward planning and plus collect as many other caches as we could. The plan was to travel to KawaKawa Bay and stay at Hemi's uncles home.
Early start Saturday morning with our goal to get to KawaKawa. Google tells me its 266 Kilometres one way, but with caching who knows how many km's it will be.
Left Rotorua after work on Friday with a stop for dinner (Cambridge Roast House). Next stop Huntly for a coffee and a chat with fellow cachers, then on to KawaKawa Bay. No caches done on this leg.
Early start Saturday morning to achieve our goal.
10.35am - This will be the last of this series we will be doing today. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Day 2 of our flying visit to Northland. Today, we are hunting for two old caches; one each in Russell and Whangarei. We are also looking at anything else between these points, within short walking distance of the vehicle. it seems a lot brighter today, but rain is on the forecast, and the ground is waterlogged...
A quick find in between a few passing motorists. TFTC.

While Mr Aantiquated him self with the camper van "facilities" Mrs A went out in the persistent rain to nail this...what should have been a quick fine...became an epic long enough for mr to complete the formalities and take a nap...!!.. must have been the freezing rain? the roaring traffic? or perhaps i need a nap too?
Out and about with my friend Lis's crew on our way to the CITO. Stopped here on the way for me to pick up some P&G's. TFTC.
during a visit in paihia we looked for some caches and found this one, tftc and greetings from germany.
Todays plan was for a further attempt to increase my unique Minutes for the 400 Minute Challenge in Manawatu. I only needed an extra dozen or so to tip me o=ver the magic mark and, with a plan to head further North than before (whilst a cacher), there was a good chance of success. Built the plan aroubnd the barrier caches spread evenly along the upper S H 1 and also another couple of Letterbox hybrids and an Earth cache at Hikurangi. The hope to also fit in Waipu Cove and Mangawhai Head was a step to far. Settled for 53 caches all up, 23 new minutes so mission accomplished and I can now claim another D/T for my grid. Many thanks to all the C Os whose caches I found today. Got to see some cool sights of lower Northland and help my little missions along. Got all the North ones on the way up and the South ones on the way back down. Yay

Last one of the series of barrier caches, now onto something else a little more different... back to Whangarei, starting to look forward to my wine and cheeses back at my motel.
After spending yesterday caching around the Far North, today yorkshirekiwi83 and I made our way from Kaitaia back to Auckland via Doubtless Bay and Paihia, stopping for many caches along the way. Decided to pick up a few of the GB1 series on our way back, where traffic permitted safe parking! TFTC!

Another smiley to add to the rest. The end of the work day so lots of traffic. Reminds us of how nice it is to be retired:)
Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!

In the morning we visited Whangarei first and drove back from Paihia to Auckland, where we visited the Mega Event. It was very special, more lovely and smaller like than the one I visited in Prague in the Czech Republic (Europe) this year. We met a lot of very kind and friendly people and really enjoyed the time over there. I took about 54 TBs and Geocoins heading to Europe with me, that's kind off crazy, I know.
But we needed to move on soon, otherwise the Mega would have been ended before we arrived over there .

additional information: I will change my name from Schlitz13 to megalodon

#6189. We just picked up a few of these (looked for good parking and lack of following traffic). Nice idea for a series. TFTC.
Another quick drive by on our way back to Whangarei. Signed as SWaT (StreetWalker and Troodles) to save space as the logbook was full. TFTC.
Another quick find, with 5 days to go. TFTC, also no room on log sheet, a poplular few caches.
Down for the event, couldn't be bothered saving caches for the 31 days of August as I'm hardly ever down in whangarei, so I just went all out!
Easy find on our way to Whangarei. Quick stop and log Log will need replacing soon
#394 It's about time I started hunting down more of these in the series and get them ticked off. Decided to nab some South ones on my way back to Auckland. TFTC! Logbook full.
