Another quick grab on our road trip.Hoping to get to 5k finds before year end.Thank you Riser5 + MiniMaxy for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 4959
Had a pen for this one, but left the paper in the car, which was on the other side of the road. Did not want to cross the road more than I needed too.Found straight away, and was able to squeeze our names onto the log, but is out of date order as the log is very full Thanks Riser 5 for the hide. We had called into the Waipu market day for a power explore, as it was closing in 15mins, looks like it was a great day, so many stalls, and muggles on holiday over this Labour weekend.
Heading north on a warm Sunday have a bit of caching time tftc. 20.meters from gz
Found it! Lost its lid so it's getting damaged even though it is Under Cover. 3rd cache today! TFTC
On a caching afternoon with yvettetb and nessvab, trying to log a few caches before the cyclone hits. It was getting pretty windy but still no rain.
Thank you for these easy road side caches.

Out on a caching afternoon with Yvettetb & Thetravelbugtribe before Cyclone Gabrielle hits. Quick park and grab after doing a loop around Waipu to stop for afternoon tea and head back North on our way home. TFTC
Woohoo another barrier cache found. This cache was sitting wrong side up on the barrier so I popped the cache in a bag due to impending wet weather forecast and cyclone and put it back where the magnet would work. TFGC
A last minute return trip to Whangarei offered the opportunity to pick off a handful of park and grab caches north of the big city.
Another quick find here and my final one today before my destination.

Day 1 of our three day Geocaching trip to Whangarei. This stage included the drive from Auckland Airport to Whangarei and caching the last 30 or so km's before getting there as well as some caching to the west in the late afternoon early evening. We signed the log as BIC for BFG, Infoferret and CrystalFairy.

28 October 2022 14:10 A 3 day expedition to the areas north of Auckland with Crystal Fairy and Barefootguru, most logs signed as BIC to save space and time. The focus of the trip was to find a number of puzzle caches solved over the last couple of years, plus other caches of interest we passed.
No cobwebs here

A well deserved holiday break for Mr and Mrs NZTravellers saw us heading up to Russell with Geodog in tow.
A very leisurely drive up getting a few caches as they presented for either a food or loo break for Geodog.
Second one just along the road. Cache found however the log is full.

Thankfully traffic was light on our trip north so we could pull over for some of these caches. Quick find here. Log full
Easy find but a lot of traffic on the road so had to wait for the side road muggles to clear the intersection to retrieve the cache.
Travelled up from Dunedin for my first Mega event and wanting to sign off some geotour caches as well in Auckland and Northland.

1434. 5:05 pm. Yet another quick find as expected. Pull over area for this one is ideal. Logbook full but I found a missed line. Found with eKitten, GRAkiWi and Li0nPaw but signed as kanoe&co. TFT(last)C(before heading home).
Today my caching mission was to head North to Northland to find enough caches to make progress towards fulfilling the requirements of a challenge not far from where I live. The weather today was perfect - a real change from the last few days. So nice I was able to have the top down on my convertible cachemobile once the sun was up far enough. Another one where the coordinates seemed a bit out but I had a good idea where to look and there was the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
With plenty of time in hand, we decided to pick up some caches on our way to Waipu today, although we only selected random one's that were on the correct side of the road.
No problems making the find here, thanks Riser5

North Island Campervan trip Day 8
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Last night I was able to spend the night catching up with friends in Kaiwaka before setting off this morning to head up towards Russell in the Bay of Islands. I haven't been there in over 30 years, and was really looking forward to being there again. In the end I didn't quite get that far today, ending up spending a great night near a beach in Whale Bay.
The first part of my day way to be a casual drive up to Whangarei, making a point of stopping at as many caches along the way as I could, including this one.
I was able to park up and walk over to this one without any fuss. The cache itself only took me a moment to locate and finding no issues with the cache or the log I quickly added my name to the sheet and then was back on my way again.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

The elder Future Finder and I are heading north this afternoon with the intention of visiting family in northland. Normally, I take state highway 12 north to get where I am going. Today, I am taking state highway 1 and was keen to collect a number of GB1 N hides as traffic, weather and parking allowed. This, was a nice and easy park and grab in the rain. As a previous finder has mentioned there is no lid on the cache. Cheers for the cache placement!
A quick park and grab. Has no lid and plastic bag is beyond repair. Could do with some maintenance. Unfortunately I don’t have any supplies on me. TFTC.
Heading North this morning from Tauranga to Paihia. No worries here, A quick pull over and find. TFTC

Found with a sister during our expedition to NZ (from CZ), where we explored part of the North Island and could visit our classmates and friends that we have not seen for several years, as it is here, in Auckland and Napier live ... Thank you for cache ...
I made a list with lots of the Northbound GB1 caches and hit them as I made my way to Whangarei. This was another where the coords seemed a bit off, but I used Geo-sense to find the cache also. TFTC
An unexpectedly early start heading up to Whangarei to celebrate Christmas today while everyone is actually going to be able to get there and we thought we should get a few finds in. This was our first stop. Last find in the series was some time ago. Now a smily on the map. Thanks for the hide.
22458 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we were went from Auckland to Paihia. On several spots we stopped to find some caches and to enjoy the lookout views. All day was sunny,so we also made a walk in Puhoi to get the caches along the path to the mountain view. Also the GB1 caches were very popular because you can park safely for them. At some Parkings there were many muggles, but they had no interest in us. they took many pictures.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Several were with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen do not work that good on such paper, where when it was wet paper it logs fantastic.
Riser5 TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

We left Auckland quite late in the day after my conference was finished. However, having the door code for our accommodation in Whangarei gave us all the time in the world to find a few on the way up! The weather was abysmal, but tunfisk had a new piece of tramping equipment he was keen to test in exactly these conditions, so he was more than happy to do the jumping out of the car We had a great time and the time passed much quicker than expected. TFTC!!
Today we had a trip from Coromandel to Whangarei on the plan, thereby visiting many other locations near the road and coast and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly some small clouds.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to 'Riser5 + MiniMaxy' for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 'GB1: #26, N, Riser5 (Whangarei)'. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Quick find though I would not recommend getting out of the cat on the driver's side.
These ones really aren't that safe. Made a quick grab but was hard puling over and out. Missed another one earlier on the bypass as it was impossible to stop. Car shakes every time a car goes past. Cache is missing lid. Tftc

Next one on our way up north. Again a quick find but through the spiders web used to protect the cache.
Heading home late after a flying visit to Akl. Had mananged a few caches already, so thought would try for some of these North ones to make a good total for the day.
Full moon tonight, even though it's hidden behind heavy clouds sometimes. A lot easier cache than the Brynderwyn one 10 minutes earlier.

Got a txt from dad "managed to lock myself out of the van- any chance you can go pick up the spare car and ring it to me" Not sure what his plan was if I said no So off I went and then used the way home as a chance to grab some of the North direction caches. TFTC
On my way up the line for a week of r&r on my way further up to northland today. Pulled off into a safe-ish parking spot and the cache was quickly in hand. Not sure about these ones so close to speeding traffic. TFTC

The summer holiday this year was to visit the far North. We decided to take our time and travel with just short trips and stop over to visit friends/relatives rather than one big long drive through to Whangarei, so there was a little time allowed for geocaching, although this was fairly restricted. We planned a couple of longer stays at campsites where we used our tent and at other times we were at friends or cabins/motels. Some of the caches took us to a little out of the way places but these were really worthwhile, while others we discovered and visited and as luck would have it there was also a cache! The logging of these cache has had to wait until we got to relatives, on the whole.
This is a fairly generic log with additional notes about individual caches that had something extra that remained in my memory.
Thanks for the cache and another smiley face.

Found with Mrs McMike2012 ... we were doing a 'road trip' to Whangarei as we had a couple of messages to do ... thought we'd do a couple of caches on the way up & a couple on the way back home as well ... this being the 5th of 15 for the day ... quick & easy find ... another one in Riser5's 'GB series' ... we'll get them all eventually/maybe ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,116 for us
Dot Day... A massive day ahead... Today's adventure requires 50 caches with at least a kilometre of separation. It's also a Dot Day for me... And we are interested in finding any caches that were published within a week of today... No problem! Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a planned route that will take us as far north as Waipu (Northland).
This was the last one along Highway 1 before turning into Waipu. As it fell within a kilometre of its nearest neighbour, we decided to use it as my Dot Day find. Another quick park and grab here. TFTC.

Frost at home this morning and 2 degrees and today is going to be a biggie for us. Planned to attempt our challenge of 50 caches a kilometre or more apart, problem is we have almost cleaned out all caches within 100km's of home so arranged with Hemi (Squirrel Nutcase) to pick up at 6am and head north. For some reason I was up at 3.15am, so this just added more time to my day. Caching was a little sparse until we got to about Silverdale. State Highway 1 was very busy and with caches on both sides of road, watchful eyes were very important.

Todays plan was for a further attempt to increase my unique Minutes for the 400 Minute Challenge in Manawatu. I only needed an extra dozen or so to tip me o=ver the magic mark and, with a plan to head further North than before (whilst a cacher), there was a good chance of success. Built the plan aroubnd the barrier caches spread evenly along the upper S H 1 and also another couple of Letterbox hybrids and an Earth cache at Hikurangi. The hope to also fit in Waipu Cove and Mangawhai Head was a step to far. Settled for 53 caches all up, 23 new minutes so mission accomplished and I can now claim another D/T for my grid. Many thanks to all the C Os whose caches I found today. Got to see some cool sights of lower Northland and help my little missions along. Got all the North ones on the way up and the South ones on the way back down. Yay

Wanted to collect this barrier for my 35* challenge. I needed the other two nearby but we had cars behind us and my driver said it wasn't easy to pull over. These caches are hard to get to from home as they are so far away. Still need a 59 minute cache so I'll have to visit Waipu sometime. TFTC
Another really quick find here and on my way north for 2 nights in Whangarei and a loooong weekend of caching, yeh hah!
Parents & I were holidaying in Ruakaka for a week.

Having visited the falls we were heading back to our cottage. Still ahving soem time up our sleeves, we grabbed a fcouple GB1: caches along the way, when there was no traffic behind us. TFTC

After spending yesterday caching around the Far North, today yorkshirekiwi83 and I made our way from Kaitaia back to Auckland via Doubtless Bay and Paihia, stopping for many caches along the way. Decided to pick up a few of the GB1 series on our way back, where traffic permitted safe parking! Did a u-turn and backtracked to 26 and 27 as they were useful for a latitude challenge! TFTC!

After a disappointing STF nearby I decided to grab a couple of P&G's on the way back as consolation. Thought this was further south than it was so had to turn around at the next turnoff. Got back to the car and realised I had driven back past another in the series. Back to the turnoff to head north again!
