Logs
We were visiting family in Fairlie this week and planned to find enough caches to qualify for the solstice souvenir. Unfortunately we didnt bring our bikes with us so it was on with the walking boots to do this track on foot (in a couple of sessions). It was very muddy in places but other than that was an enjoyable walk, and the weather also cooperated. This was our first one of the day and took a few minutes to locate. It looked like it may have been covered with piles of dirt, but eventually Mrs nzk spotted the hint object and then the cache was a quick find. The log was a little damp, otherwise all ok here. TFTC Bitsprayer. Now to walk back to Fairlie.
Came out for a day trip with the family to bicycle the first half of this Stoneleigh track. Lovely day for it - quite hot & with no breeze! A nice wee find and sign here after a bit of tooing and froing in the long grass...
On a trip south from Tauranga. Been cycling around when we can. Love it down here. Called into camp a couple of nights to catch up on washing etc. nice walk in rain.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Last one of the day for us. We will return and do some more of this trail.
This one took a bit of finding due to the stump being hidden in the long grass. TFTC.

We spent a very nice time walking along the river. Some of the caches here were a little bit wet inside the container. Fairlie is a lovely city where I always love to be. TFTC
A miserable day and a trip to Fairlie for the mid-winter fete led us to find a few in places we've only been to when there are lots of muggles around. Took a quick trip down the 4wd track. Might come back with our bikes - perhaps when its less muddy! Tftc
it took me longer to find than it should have. I planned a ski trip with hubby and friends. Then I had a couple of biopsies dine on my arm. So no skiing for me so I decided to cache instead. Thank you Bitsprayer for this cache.

A nice afternoon walk along the path in the sun, with no one around, enjoying the caches and solitude. TFTC!!
We came from Christchurch via Timaru as we wanted to go to Kimbell to see some friends in the pub. So we stopped for a short walk to grab some boxes. We had one spare logbook with us and put this in this box.
Quick and easy find in an obvious spot. TFTC

Found with StreetWalkerNZ during a walk on day 2 of a 3 weekend in and around Fairlie.
We parked close to GZ on Kerrs Rd then wondered where the hint object was as it was well camouflaged. I walked in the right direction and spotted it and the cache was soon found. As SW's log states, we were unable to sign the log book as it was saturated. TFTC.

#18489. We parked not far from GZ to begin our second walk along this track. I went to the wrong stump, and Troodles went to the right one and found the cache. Log too wet to sign; took photo. TFTC.
Soggy log but a fresh pen was fine for marking it off. Quick easy find in our way back to Fairlie from Lochaber. Tftc
We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. So we spotted this trail of caches and decided to come and have a look see. It was so refreshing to ride a maintained trail, we have been on some really overgrown and washed out tracks in the last few days.
Some of the logs are damp but all are useable.
The grass was longer than the stump was high so it took a few moments to spot
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Greetings from Tauranga. This was a nice early morning walk. Easy find. Log is damp but still ok to write in. TFTC
According to our GPS, the covering object has actually rolled closer to waypoint. Placed cache under object. Log is wet.
The stump has been rolled away down the slope but the container is still where it originally was. Thanks for the placement Bitsprayer
Out today with yetichch riding the Opihi Trail, hoping to get smilies on all the caches along here. Glad to say we were successful in our mission. Beautiful day for riding along here and plenty of ripe wild blackberries to snack on along the way. Didn't see any other people today, so made the hunt easier with no muggles about to be careful of. Some of the caches need maintenance, a few log books were a bit on the wet side. Many thanks Bitsprayer, wouldn't have seen this great trail if it wasn't for geocaching!
Sorry about the generic logs.

This one literally had us stumped. Spring, it seems, isn’t an ideal season to search with all the new growth. After reading the logs, one stood out, so I followed my caching nose (and a hint of a geotrail), and soon had it on hand. Tftc
unfortunately the sump has shifted downhill and the cache was found uphill all good now it's back under the obvious stump tftc Mr bitsprayer
Stayed the night in Fairlie so that I could come for a bike ride up here, something I have been meaning to do for several years. The weather "sort of" cooperated, the rain stopped for a few hours although the track was a bit muddy. Found this one fairly quickly. Signed log, TFTC
Made a little walk here in the first part of this walkway. Here we stopped and returned to the car and drive to the other end. Thanks for the cache!
It is time to get the bike of the rack and me suited up for the Fairlie River Walk/Cycleway series of caches. I started at the end and worked my way down the Opihi River.
Cheers for the cache.

.. on a definite roll today, a great day to be out and about looking for containers!! TFTC
parislaura, Team Jacob and I flew to New Zealand for the 2015 Mega.
Never having been out of Australia before, this was a very exciting trip for me
What a wonderful thing is a Mega! Seeing fellow geocachers with their flags on driving around town, tooting at those who are at caches and meeting many new people
Today was our drive to Waimate day, for a brief overnight stop prior to heading to Dunedin, then Queenstown.
Along the way, we saw some beautiful scenery and I patted some ponies and calves, which made my day
I found a total of 10 caches today
Sadly, we didn't have pushbikes or even the time to spare to walk to find more caches on this trail however we did enjoy finding this one.

After enjoying the mega event in Christchurch, Locus Cache, Team Jacob and myself made a lovely journey along the coast all the way to Queenstown. We stopped in Waimate for the night and really loved the feel of such a country town. TFTC.
Out on the trail on the bike to collect these lot in intermittant drizzle and rain, no problems with overheating. Cheers for the trail, glad to get it ticked off the list finally.
Out for a warm bike ride to get this series of caches with axllal and mr axllal, warm day and it is further than it looks. Thank you for these.
first one for the day had me stumped for a while they finally the light came on cheers
Out for a quiet Sunday drive/caching trip. With the sun shining we couldn't have wished for better weather.
Mission for the day is to attack some caches in the Pareora Gorge and head to Fairlie for lunch and ice cream.
After a lovely lunch at the pub, we thought we might walk it off before treating ourselves to an ice cream. This one stumped us for a while until we got our bearings sorted. Got there in the end though.

Quick find after I got my head around things as GPS all over the place Only got this far today will continue tomorrow TFTC
The co -ords also put us smack in the middle of a pile of gravel but following a bit of logic we went towards the next track and fossicked up on the little mound and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.
Looked everywhere. Maybe recent earthworks have moved it?? Would like to find next time we are here
No luck here -same as previous log Thanks Bitsprayer for a great power trail - that's it for us today
Missed this one. The new coordinates took me into a clearing with nothing around that resembled the clue. The old coordinates, at least took me to a clump of trees, but I didnt spot the cache.
