The lovely old rock wall is gradually deteriorating, so I've decided to archive this cache.
Will create a new one elsewhere in the Gordon Falls Reserve.
Will create a new one elsewhere in the Gordon Falls Reserve.
This one has suffered from 'cache creep' yet again, and was tucked in behind the stone wall, on the ground, partly covered with leaf litter.
If the container remains in its proper place, there's absolutely no need to remove any rocks. The container should be in plain sight.
I scouted around for alternative locations and will probably move this one soon. It's impossible to prevent people from fiddling with the old stone wall.
For now . . . go to the end of the stone wall. Look for something quite visible. Don't move rocks!

30/09/13. 8:30 AM. After finding Stairway to Heaven, time to head back to base in Leura to pick up the geofamily and head for Jenolan. On the way back to Leura; more caches along the way.
I didn't spend more than 5 minutes here as I was in a hurry. Tried a lot of loose rocks at both ends (my GPSr was ambivalent re which end), but no luck. On to the 2 caches along the nearby track.

Beware of the bees! Took us 3 attempts to get near but finally managed it! Tftc
Our 1st cache in the blue mountains after taking a peak at Gordan falls view point- breathtaking tftc!
As recent finders have discovered, you don't need to pull rocks out of the stone wall! Cache is in plain sight.
Stopped by today and put in a new log sheet.
Container had suffered from a bit of 'cache creep' but was nice and dry.
Cache is now placed where YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMOVE ROCKS from the wall wall. Sorry to shout, but the former CO already mentioned this and I think it's very important to note that the container is in plain sight.
Otherwise, if rocks continue to be removed from the wall, I may to move the cache or even archive it.

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 30.9 feet or 9.4 meters.
I've moved the cache container a few metres to a more suitable hiding spot, also nearer where the former CO first hid it.
It's in plain sight, so again, please don't remove rocks from the rock wall while searching for it.
It's not near the path going down to the Lookout . . .

Lot's of false hiding places made it fun searching and co-ords seemed a few metres out. Log full. TFTC
Aggh - this one had us going for ages, but eventually persistence paid off. We saw lots of little birds twittering in the trees and even saw a real live bright red Elmo throwing paper aeroplanes - geokid skipped along the parking lot with him. Wwe then met a hiker who had left his car door open and gone on a 2 hour walk - and was absolutely amazed to find his car still there. TFTC
Next person should bring a pen and another piece of paper as it is really full. Have fun finding it.
Two muggle ladies stood in the middle of the park and stared at me. They showed no sign of going away and every time I turned around at least one of them was watching me. I pretended to photograph the moss on the wall, but they were too distracting and I couldn't find the cache without being more obvious. Perhaps another visit.
Saturday 15 June 2013 - Glorious crisp sunny winter's day without the bitter cold breeze of the night before. Enjoyed the 818 STEPS there and back to the Gordon Reserve Waterfall. TFTC.
found with cattrax007 and 4x41411 on a day caching around leura. nice little find (geo could not open this old style pill container child proof!!!) i soon had it open and signning thank for the cache.

Looked but could not find or feel it. Disregarded the advice in the cache info and found it behind a loose stone
Our last cache of today. Quite an easy find on our geocaching day in Katoomba and its surrounding towns. TFTC.

Despite it being a beautiful day the park was relatively quiet which made looking for this cache easy. This resulted in a quick find. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot.
I was out and about with my new geomate, VGOOD, who is over here on holidays from Canada. I was taking her up to see the iconic Blue Mountains and, of course, some geocaching along the way. We spent about 15 minutes here searching but couldn't locate this hide. It happens like that sometimes! I'll be back to have another go one day. Thanks wackydo.
Canadian visitor spending the day geocaching with my new Geo Bud Calypso62 on our way to visit Blue Mountains. Our first DNF of the day but we still got 22
We looked high, low and behind.

Got out of bed early this morning, because we wanted to get as much out of the day as possible, unfortunately the weather wouldn't cooperate. Looking out our window we saw nothing but fog. So we took our time do laundry and other necessary stuff before getting out.
We had a fun time with some fellow geocachers who had only recently picked up the hobby (we actually gave up the search when they arrived, because we thought they were muggles...). In the end it was them that found the cache and they were kind enough to pass the logbook on to us!
After a while it really got started with our walk (Prince Henry Cliff Walk) and we picked up caches as we walked past them.
We had a fantastic day, even the weather cleared around 10:30, and we were amazed at every lookout.
Thanks to all the owners!

After a rainy start, it turned into a beautiful day up in the Blue Mountains. Ran into some fellow geocachers and had a great chat!
This should have been an easy find given the hint but it eluded us for quite a while. TFTC.
Interesting camo. Not sure its safe with high muggle activity - You can spot it from a distance. But thanks for bringing us down to this path!
Was able to locate without too much trouble, which is good seeing as though muggle family were picnicing only metres away under a tree.
Nice area! Unfortunately I didn't have time to get the other caches nearby.
I'll take them next time.

YAY! We made it! This was our find #1300.
Had a great day in the Blue Mountains and the nearby outlook was worth this distinguished cache number for us. Many thanks from Germany/New Zealand.

Quick easy find in such a lovely quiet spot....could probably do with a new bag to protect log though TFTC
Nice place. We are really surprised by all the nice BBQ spots we saw during our trip in Australia.
Hop on - hop off bus had perfect timing and took overlookers away just when I arrived It looked like a long and frustrating search at first, but I struck lucky and found the cache in a minute.
beautiful lookout! we set up a cliff top dining experience for my brother to propose to his girlfriend (she said yes!!)
Our GPS's were taking us a little off course, but one of our group stood back and spotted it quite easily.
TFTC wackydo.

Being a sunny Sunday morning there was a steady stream of muggles going by but once we had a clear run at searching we soon found the cache. Just over the back of the wall there was a small snake (about a metre or so) catching some rays. Lovely park.
Found this cache at 4;40pm the last for the day. while we were in Katoomba for the weekend. This is a lovely park but had no views todays. Very foggy, but made it easier with less muggles.
Thanks Wackydo and eaviate for the hide.

Straight forward find. Don't read the clue unless you have to -- it makes things, um, very clear indeed. TFTC
Found after our big hike this morning as we drove to a few lookouts.
Good hide - liked the cammo.
Grabbed an icecream from nearby shop - yummy.

Worker muggles spreading mulch on the bushes nearby made this one interesting. I had my excuse ready, about a stonemason mate having sent me to inspect the wall because they are quoting for a restoration job, but they weren't interested enough to ask. Once I spotted the container a quick sit down and fiddle with the phone with one hand while the other did the hard work.. and the worker muggles were none the wiser. TFTC!
Didn't use coordinates saw the wall and geoson quickly found it. Didn't sign log as we couldn't get out
