I’ve been trying to get down and do this series for awhile now, do an early stArt with the geopup and we managed to walk the series. We had 1 dnf as there was spitfire caterpillars at gz but otherwise I managed to collect some smileys . Some of the caches were floating in water others were buried in decaying mulch. The walk was lovely with lots of bird life and lily of the valley flowering everywhere. Tftc

Had a drive down south today, with the main intent to walk this series. I do like a cache loop Smile Actually started at AP 007 rather than here, as when I got out the car here at AP 001 the dogs in both neighbouring properties went absolutely crazy at my geohound. The respective fences kept them contained but I wasn’t keen to walk the gauntlet along the bridleway here with them snarling, barking & running along the fences alongside. So back in the car to find another route in Smile That worked a treat, and when I eventually got back here I was over halfway through the series. Also, now approaching from the back of the properties the dogs were nowhere to be seen Smile Nice quick find once at GZ, in fact I went straight to it. Dropped off a very appropriate TB here too Smile Really liking the walk around this series - TFTC

See AP 008 Oakford Stakes Nelly for more information.

It took a long time to find this one. I thought I had thoroughly checked everywhere so decided to DNF it. At that moment I put my hand on something and the cache was sitting there! TFTC

Came prepared with gum boots and long sticks to fight off the winter weeds. Given only three possibilities, we found this one and headed off down the trail. Nice hide. Tftc, AP Crew.

I only needed to find one of the caches in this series to fulfill a date on my 'finds by dates placed' grid. This leaves me with 1 to go.

I am heading home at the end of a very long day, up since 1200 hrs yesterday, night shift last night and specific cache targeting today. I will come back to complete the series another time.

Took the TB.

The dogs were bugging me for a walk so decided to do some caching while I was at it. Stop one and the GPS wouldn't settle and then when it did it told be it was the other side of the fence. Started searching logical hiding spots and eventually found the cache. You certainly don't need to cross or reach through the fence for other people who are having GPS issues. Log is full here and needs replacing. TFTC Allied Pranksters

Up and out early this morning before the forecast rain. Decided to do both Nelly and Ed so parked up at the gates on Peters Road and began a pleasant and easy walk around the bridle tracks. Found 14 caches in total, all in good condition.

Our first find in the Ed series.

Firstly, I am so SO sorry for logging these finds so late!

Came through here during the Term 3/4 school holidays last year and got through most of the series before my hayfever hit me really really hard. Major downside to geocaching in a state where you're allergic to almost EVERYTHING. The attack was so bad I had to go straight home, I didn't even to attempt finding some of the last caches in the series. I told myself I would be back soon to find the remaining caches and would log all my finds together once that happened. Unforrrtunately that didn't happen until today (15/03/16) soooo, here are my logs! Better late than never, right?? Big Grin

I really enjoyed this walk and there are some lovely folks in this neighborhood that I had the pleasure of chatting to. I ran into a group on a trail ride with some kids on ponies and thought it was a fantastic experience for the youngsters during the school holidays. The man running the outfit asked if I was "GPS-lookin" so I'm guessing the people here are aware of and friendly to cachers.

AlliedPranksters, I really enjoyed this series and the walk, even though it landed me in bed for a day or two. Thanks very much.

My DD suggested this series as she has ridden on the paths.
So today, I parked the GeoJazz and started the series. Most were easy finds. I walked a few km's and would have walked more, except for the rumblings and lightning of a looming thunderstorm.
Next time, I'll wear a fly veil, just like the local horses!

First for the day and a new series as well. A quick find in the obvious spot (not where the GPS pointed). SL. Thanks to AP for the cache.

After finishing the Dog and Wonder Woman series next door we continued on the East side of Nicholson road. Much easier walk on the path and mostly simple hides here. We really liked the area, the horses and the flowers all around. Thanks for the hides.

Decided to drag the geohound Charli out and make a start on the Oakford Stakes series of caches today. Parked on Nicholson Rd near AP 008 and did the loop of Nelly and Mr Ed, got back to the car after about an hour and half.

Most were pretty straight forward finds which made for a very pleasant stroll, thankfully the rain held off today.

This was a quick find but the weather looks a bit threatening.

10-Jul-14
Headed out early this morning to knock off as many of the Oakford Stakes series as I could. The first loops on the agenda were Nelly and Mr Ed. I parked the Geo-i30 near the gates to the bridal trail on Peters Way and took the geobike. It helped that I had solved the finals last night so I could grab them on the way around as well. This one had me doing the drunken bee dance for a minute as the gps was jumping around a bit. TFTC.

While the geo-wife was at a Enjo party at my geo-sisters place in Forrestdale, I decided to head out and grab a few Oakford Stakes caches ... parked about 90 metres from AP008 and did the Nelly and Mr Ed series'. Had an enjoyable walk of about 6km, picked up 13 smilies and exchanged greetings with some friendly horsey type people along the way.

First of the Mr Ed Caches for me and I note that it is AP 001 ... so I guess it is the first of 500+ AP caches to date. Very pleased indeed to be signing the log here Big Grin.

As I was signing the log, a lady rode up on the bicycle that I had seen at the previous cache. She was leading a horse being ridden by a young girl and we all exchanged greetings.

Signed the log and noted the reqired number. Thanks for the hide Allied Pranksters

I set out early this morning, before it got too hot, to tackle a couple of the series here. I collected the clues for the final as I went. I did have some trouble with the coordinates for the final on this series [?]. However; had a great walk and saw a lot of horses. TFTC Allied Pranksters Big Grin

20-Sep-13
Once again I have found myself with a day off of work and the young jokers in school. Alas Mrs Jokers was also at work, so I settled on doing some of the caches that have been on my to do list in this area for some time.

In preparation I read several logs and saw that previous finders have ridden this series and it struck me as a brilliant idea. I’m so happy I took my bike as it meant less time in the off and on (tho mostly on and on and on) showers today and after my typical later than planned start I was able to knock off 13 of my planned 14 caches for today.

I parked alongside Nicholson Rd closest to AP 008 Oakford Stakes Nelly and started my journey, I also finished Mr Ed as well. A little under 5 ks today, but enough distance in the rain and I was rather soaked by the end of the ride.

Bugs, birds and horses, so many horses were encountered in the ride but none on the trail, most either running away from me or coming to the fence to check me out.

Care was taken to sign the logs out of the drizzle and all caches were in good order.

This will be a cut and paste log for the most part as nothing overly exciting happened apart from my huge smile as I rode around enjoying it immensely, the few pictures I took will be placed on the finals of each series.

Feeling good about finishing the last 6 and the final I was held up here as the GPS kept pointing to a large log behind a fence, after several minutes of leaning over thinking AP would not go onto a fenced property I ignored the GPS and found the cache where it should be Smile

Thanks again Allied Pranksters for a brilliant series, WA caching is better for your efforts.

Had no idea one series would blend so perfectly into two, so off I went and continued the trek to try to complete this series as well.
As I've come to expect from the AP's, the co-ords are good, and the placements are well secured.
Gotta give the 1st of this series a fave point too.
Thanks again Allied Pranksters, you've made my trip West a real treat with the quality of your hides

Found @ 12:52!

Find #31 on a mission to find caches in and near Jandakot Regional Park!

After completing Jandakot Park this morning, I thought I should try the 'Nelly' series too! Just so happens, this was en route!

I underestimated the amount of water I would need to do complete the park, so with the Sun high in the sky, I intended to complete this series with only 0.5L of water and low batteries...

This was Find #1 of this series and no GPS was needed! Easy to spot the hide and container, so I had strong hopes for the rest of the series...

Back up here today, yet again. The only way to do these series is by shank's pony. Was getting rather overheated and thirsty by now (left my water bottle in the car, didn't I??) Now have to find the finals for Nellie and Mr Ed, before heading back towards the others that I haven't yet found. I carried on and ended up doing all three series. No wonder my feet and legs are sore tonight. Thanks Allied Pranksters

I had my bike down this way finishing off the Periodic table series, so decided to pull in and clean up the Oakford Stakes series also. I enjoyed the ride around and found all caches easily. TFTC

In high spirits from completing Nelly in minimal time so rode on to this one. Cute geocaching bracelet in cache. Learnt that it is etiquette for cyclists to stop for horses. I'm ok with that. And discussed with same horse-rider if arum lillies were a weed or not. The place is abundant with them and they look magnificent. TFTC.

Teamed up with Boeknog for the day. Easy find. Took nothing, left geo-caching bracelet that we have taken from another cache a while ago. TFTC.

Back in the car after completing Nelly was tossing up - will I or won't I do another series? Very tempted to go home at that point as was tired as well as very hungry as hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast, but decided to push on. So drove around to park close to the first one then set off on shanks pony once more. Good, still easy finds. Took photo, replaced and set off again.
Thanks for another series of caches Allied Pranksters.

Nice and gentle 4km run around this one, but I deleted one cache reference in error, so will have to come back for that one. Enjoying being back out running (had 40 acupuncture needles in me yesterday - trying to fix annoying knee tendon). Big Grin Had to dodge a couple of trail riders on horse back, who suddenly appeared. Had the cache in my hand and thought - shi&. A bit of quick thinking, I asked if there was a side track back down the way a bit. They confirmed there was. I toddled off, still with the cache in my hand. Turned back and snuck it back where it belonged. Phew! [8]

23-Feb-12
So I finally made it South to launch an attack on this Mega Series.

43 Caches to do in one day, covering I at least 30 km of bridle paths (once you account for my dodgy navigation).

I would have really enjoyed the walk, but decided that the way to go to day was by Geo bike.

Even better I had a borrowed Geo bike from Mr FELIX, as my pushy would never have made it round.

Mrs Felix also accompanied me on her own quest to clear the area of Munzees !!!

From start to finish the series took 7.5 hours, which included a few diversions and the obligatory Munzee hunts.
I certainly would of never made it round on my own by foot, I would of been camping overnight for sure.

The series offered a great selection of Cache types, with varying difficulties but by late afternoon I had achieved 43 from 43.

Many thanks to the Allied Prankters for laying such a great trail, and to the two Felix's for their generosity both with their time and equipment !!!!

As it was going to be a cooler day today we decided to tackle the Oakford series as it promised to be a good walk - and it was. Got Mr Ed & Nelly completed as well as a few around Byford after lunch. It was an easy and enjoyable walk in an area we had not previously visited. Co-ords were all pretty spot on.
Met up with the better halves of iluvtrecking & Richlink at this cache, but they were near the end of the series, having started way earlier than us. Wink
Thanks for the series Allied Prannksters - we will be back to tackle the remaining 4 groups. [^]

Had a big day out caching with iluvtrekking in a 13 hour marathon and recording our PB in number of finds.Started very early and managed to complete the entire series by making a guys team and a girls team. This is a fabulous series and the co-ords are all pretty much spot on. Enjoyed the walk (the guys cycled their part) along the bridle paths and checking out the surrounding properties. Well done Allied Pranksters.

Nice to have a cool change so we decided to go for a walk around this trail and tackle of the caches. Spotted WA K Team's car at the entrance to the first 14. Easy find here. TFTC!

05-Feb-12
Today was a cooler day, and I had the day free, so I decided to come down and try to tackle this series. I did it all on foot, but would definitely recommend a bike, as the only really sandy section was going out to #20. In the end I ran out of time and missed 4 caches, but in total I found 44 (a record for me for caches found on a single day), and covered almost 26kms on foot! Phew!!

I found it difficult to find the right way in to the bridle trails, and I tried to park as close as possible to cache 1 to start at the beginning, and I parked on Old Dairy Court (not recommended), but found that there was a creek full of murky water under long grasses between me and the cache coming from this direction. Some suggested parking coordinates as an additional waypoint would be helpful for these series. In this area I covered over 11kms and found 20 caches before returning to the car.

After completing the Merrylegs series first I tracked back to the creek crossing I had spotted on my way, and walked straight up to this cache first, then saw the parking spot just at the end of the path...

I had to search in quite a few spots here, the GPS was wandering around, and there were quite a few possible hiding spots, but I found the cache eventually.

I saw that Richlink, Iluvtrekking and WA K Team had been here before me today. Thanks for the cache and the series The Allied Pranksters Crew!
