Tftc. Now more of a tribute to Christmas past with all but a few decorations scattered on the ground under the tree.
I am down under for the very first time. Visiting Australia has always been a dream of mine, and I cannot believe it has come true. Australia's nature and wildlife really captivated me. Over three weeks, I saw many wonderful beaches, sunsets, animals such as , and I found great geocaches. My tour guide was mostly geocaching, and through it, I discovered many beautiful places I wouldnt have seen without our great hobby. I mainly stayed in Brisbane but also visited other gorgeous places such as Noosa Heads and Springbrook. I spent a few days on the Gold Coast and Moreton Island, and I went to New South Wales to have visited a second state in Australia. During my stay, the winter and early spring in Queensland were very warm, the sun shone every single day, and I did not see a single drop of rain. My time down under was so beautiful and unforgettable. Australia is such a stunning country! Today I spent another day in Brisbane. I really like this city and I discovered beautiful places. I visited the Mount Coot-Tha Summit Lookout and enjoyed the wonderful view even though it was a bit cloudy. I walked down to the beautiful botanic garden. In the afternoon I went back to the city centre. I also looked for many geocaches like this one. At GZ I found the cache easily. After signing the log I put the container back as found. Thank you for this geocache says Mr. J. Cacher from the other side of the world
TFTC! Needs a bit of attention but a nice tree none the less. Also read from previous logs that the cache is a few metres off.
sniffme I found your cache Eclipsemas Tree on 16/8/2024, 9:50AM. This is my find 6912 and find # 1 today. Took a bit of a search to locate. Approximately 15 NW. Found the right container and after signing log returned it back to where it should be. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
After a day at home on Sunday, thinking it was going to be a wet one and it was a public holiday in my local area today, I decided to go out caching regardless of the weather.I decided to hit the Mt Coot-Tha Bontanic Gardens first.Eclipsemas Tree, GC39CH6, but I could not find it today. May just be a case of cache blindness.TFTC, TFTH
Pretty sure to have found the right place but I was not able to find any logbook inside one of the many containers present on the spot.Anyway, thank you for hiding hereGreetings from France
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. Today we primarily cached around the suburbs of Brisbane, with a real mixture of hides found. We then capped it off with a late afternoon river ferry ride to South Bank, before returning to our accommodation in time to write up logs and watch Origin Game II.Quick one while visiting the gardens, definitely has seen better days. Thanks for the cache
Having read previous logs, we knew that this cache had seen better days so we adjusted our hunting and it paid off. The remnants of the Eclipsemas tree was found about seven metres from where our phone was indicating. It took us about seven attempts to find the log. After signing, we placed what we could back in a way more congruent with the original and the remains beneath them. If Id thought about it, I should have found this next month but Christmas in July came early I guess. It was a superb day for a wander through the gardens so this was an excellent choice for the day. Thanks sniffme
Looked all over but couldnt find anything, hopefully we just couldnt find it but might need some attention
Looked all around the fallen tree and in surrounding "green" trees as hint suggests but could not see it.
No idea?! Sadly couldnt find any identifying things and nothing special about any fallen trees either.
Out finding a few caches with CuriousQuest. I had been here previously, but did not spot the Eclipsmas Tree. Turns out I was looking at the wrong height. Today, I had a glimpse of something glittering in the sun. closer inspection revealed the poor Eclipsmas Tree having a nap. The log was soon located and our names added. TFTC
Out and about with Selva Girls today. A nice quick find at GZ. Log signed and replaced as found. TFTC
Sadly this Eclipsemas Tree is quite dead. But there is another rising from where it lies so there may be another tree to redecorate in the future. It took me 25 goes to find the log, which was quite a fitting number I thought. TFTC!
Having noticed that the Eclipsemas Tree has been found since my DNF last July I decided to race out to see if I could view this beauty in case it was just a seasonal tree. The poor specimen is looking very sad & flat
I don’t think the Eclipsemas Tree will make the endangered list! It’s more likely to be on the extinct list. If there is another specimen somewhere it should probably be transplanted somewhere more sheltered to preserve its lifespan. Like so many others I’m mourning the demise of the Eclipsemas Tree
Hilarious! Thanks for this cool cache. Enjoyed a nice walk up to the Mt Coot-tha summit.
Mrs Riddell was excited to visit this cache after the walk from the Brisbane City YHA to Mt Cu ta and return, today.
However when see got to GZ there was no evidence of any special eclipses tree here.
Sad face for no smilie present in the tree..
Not anything for elipsmas!

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to take our newborn and visit Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. We decided to take a walk around the back section, Australian Plant Communities, and complete the *Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens - Up the Back* Adventure Lab. The lake area was quite scenic, with a few water dragons scurrying around the paths. We then returned back to the main visitor centre, and had a late morning tea consisting of coffees and croissants before heading home.
We thought we would take a walk past this geocache given its high Favourite Points count. We left the pram at the top of the dirt track, and made the 60 m to the cache with baby in hand. We soon arrived at GZ, where we saw the nicely themed Eclipsemas Tree. We soon started to search around, and in our sixth look, found the logbook. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. The tree specimen is looking a little dreary, and so perhaps starting to show its age, but still, points for creativity. Thanks sniffme, Krewlworld, and Maxx.dog for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Having a need for a nice D/T “E” cache to help spell September this one a number of boxes. It always fantastic walking the the gardens & haven’t been here for years. TGTC
Muggle65 and l love the Botanic Gardens so we decided a wee walk and a cache there would be great. Third container was the charm and log is perfectly dry. Thank you for this fun cache
This is in a great little park and such a cute cache placement! Luckily found pretty quickly despite all the possibilities for it. Thanks for placing this cache!
I am visiting Brisbane, from Melbourne, with my husband and one son to see our other son, who moved here last year, during COVID.
Today we were supposed to be going to a theme park but it is closed so the family was looking for a fun activity and I suggested the Botanical Gardens (with a plentiful variety of caches).
I am used to wandering aimlessly in the bush near my home so finding this cache reminded me of home. After finding the required tree I located the log without any difficulty.
Thank you for preserving this unique species of plant for visitors to examine.

What an Awesomeness cache this is. Sharpem and I were finding some lab caches nearby and saw this cache. Glad we made the detour to find it. Had a laugh and it was the very last one . Thankyou for all the fun
Found with Quesera in this beautiful park, thank you for placing this cache here for us to find
Out today to visit the specialist. The good part finish work early enough to grab couple of caches. This one I known about but did want to walk all the way to it.
I was told midweek you could drive close to the cache. Yes I did. Quick warp the cache log found and signed.
Sniffme *TFTC* 4726 *Finds*

This cache is good, log book is there with a lot of signatures in there. So not sure why there a needs maintenance on it.
Odd specimen for the SE Qld region, but so bright and colourful it should be sold at Bunnings. We checked all the containers and couldn't find a log to sign.
Eclipsmas tree, eclipsmas tree, how bright and shiny your mint tins are!
Great walk through the gardens on a cache hunt. Cache and log in good nick thanks!

Came as part of Christmas in July celebrations. This cache didn't disappoint. TFTC sniffme and Ors.
Had this one on the to do list and today was heading out west with time to spare. Yep sounds like a plan!!
Brilliant cache with decorations showing the ghosts of caches past!!

Well, today was the day. I had been eyeing this off since going premium and then... well, why shouldn't I? A gleeful detour was in order.
Argh!!! Am I allowed to drive through here??? Oh. Wow. Looks like I can. Never been around this way. Felt very privileged!
Spent the majority of my time limbering up for a proper tree climb. I had it all planned out- how it was going to be hidden, how high it probably was from the terrain rating, how many cuts and abrasions awaited me, etc...
All of that went out the window in a heartbeat when I arrived at GZ and laughed my head off.
TFTC , CO!

After about 4 years of no caching activity I'm cleaning up my map of local caches. Lo and behold, I never claimed this one despite all the trouble it gave us. We found this one with GEO247 back in 2013. I still remember the trauma distinctly. TFTC!
This was exactly as I expected it to be... and what a fine specimen of the species it is too... and like all good trees it is ageing fairly well... appropriate for the gardens... tftc... have a fave point
A generous reward in D/T rating for a short walk here.
Log soon located and the drive out seemed much shorter than the drive in to the back end of the park
Thank you for this cache

I needed a shady walk this afternoon & so this looked like just the thing. But, in the end the cache was not quite what I expected... Perhaps I should have just read a little more closely. Thanks xx
I parked at the Gardens and made the longish stroll to GZ, past the water dragons, Japanese Gardens, and a beautiful stretch of rainforest. Also past a giant pink rose . This is how to start a crappy day at work!
From the title I had somewhat of an idea of what I was looking for, so was not surprised as I found this delightful "Christmas" tree this morning. She is looking very festive at the moment . The log was easily found, signed, and returned as found.
This cache fills in one of the missing holes in my DT matrix - it is not an unusual DT combination so not sure how it has been unfilled for so long!
I am always amazed by the creativity of geocachers, and this is no exception. Worthy of a FP, and wlll be added to my memorable caches list.

Very festive. Found the remains of the previous container but decided to keep looking and eventually managed to find the right one. TFTC.
Out for a jaunt to pick up a cache or two and took a wander down to this one. Fpund the correct adornment and signed log. At the moment this is more like the ghost of Christmas past but with a little tlc it would be a great cache once more.
TFTC Sniff me.

After a few days of rain this week, I was like a caged animal and needed to get outside. I thought a walk around the gardens here and then perhaps a few trails on Mt Cootha would help.
The walk here from the gardens entrance was interrupted a few times by torrential downpours. The cache was quickly found and is need of some maintenqnce to restore it to its obvious former glory. Managed to find a log book in one rusty ontainer on the ground, which I dulynsigned and placed back in the tree.
Many thanks, Sniffme.

Came back this morning to grab this one. Gates were open this time! Made a quick find. The cache really needs a bit of care - it probably looked awesome back in the day. Also note there was signs about a burn off happening around there soon.
Walked all the way from the main car park at the gardens and arrived at a locked gate at the entrance to the walking track just after 4pm. I guess they just closed that early? Will drive there on Friday morning to see.
I didn’t realise that this was such a long walk from the gardens. Or that you could drive most of the way. The cache is in need of some TLC. Thanks for placing
Needed a place to meet MinnieMoo and this looked like an interesting cache to come have a look at. The concept would of been a good idea. I tried to fix it up at best I could while I was there.
Cheers for the cache

On a walk through the botanic Gardens and to the summit of Mount Cootha this morning, we stopped to look for this geocache. With a few minutes of looking around, we could see what we were looking for. I think this may have seen better days, nonetheless the idea is lovely and the containers are quirky.
Thanks

The coordinates took me about 50-100 m outside of the botanical garden and a few steps off the path. However, I couldn't identify any tree as described. All trees/plants I saw, looked quite usual and similar to their neighbours.
Eclipsemas came early for me this year! Thanks for the cache and the nice walk through the gardens.
Today I was out with a cub group and my geohubby who is a cub leader. They were walking down from the Mt Coot-tha Summit to the Botanic Gardens on a grey wolf walk. It's a lovely hike and the track we were on brought us very close to the cache. I was just going to duck off while the kids walked on, but they were excited by the prospect of a treasure hunt, so I handed over my phone and the cubs were on the search. It didn't take us very long to find GZ and thankfully the log was in the first place we looked. The paper log in there was nearly full and damp, so I added in a new waterproof log that should keep the next finders happy. TFTC sniffme, Krewlworld and Maxx.dog
TFTC. Phew. 6617 steps from the car park across from the front of the main entrance. Ok. I was exploring the gardens as well.
I think after Debbie this cache requires maintenance. I forgot to bring my cache kit so I was unable to add a dry log.
Found - thanks for the cache. I am a local but today I discovered a section/sections of the Mt Coot-tha Botanical gardens that I never knew existed - so an extra thank you to the CO. I love how caching takes me places I've never been before. Had lots of fund with geoboy EJ. And when we reached GZ or close by, there was a lady sitting on a log with her phone. I guessed she must be geocaching too because it was too remote a corner of the Citriodora Trail/walking track for a random to be sitting right in that place.
Contrary to what CO said, I think you can access this cache from Sir Samuel Griffith Drive via this trail instead of through the Botanical Gardens - although we went via the Gardens, approx. 1km walk from carpark.
Anyway aforementioned lady turned out to be "Walkingmajean" who is visiting from England. So I ended up discovering some of her trackables, I gave her 3 of mine to take back to England and then we enjoyed a walk and a coffee with her/her husband. Very enjoyable. Hope you love Australia!

Found with Elina-meree. Trackable retrievable. My first cache in Queensland. TFTC
Out and about with 1MinnieMoo to find a couple of caches. Parked as close as possible and then head down the hill. At GZ we wandered around a bit until finally we spotted a little bit left from the old Eclipsemas Tree. Left our marks on the log and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache sniffme

NyssaFlutterby and I had made today's target this cache and another nearby that I had been eyeing up for some "love", so after completing our first cache and sidetracking to another one, we finally made our way to this one.
Coords bounced around quite substantially here today and we seemed to be looking rather blindly until all of a sudden it popped out obviously right in our view with a major "duh" moment!
We can see what this would have originally looked like however that made it a little sad to see it the way it is now, the poor little tree. Still our imaginations fill in the gaps and we can picture it in all its glory.
Thanks for the cache sniffme.

School holidays with kids exploring- walked further than they wanted in the heat- tftc
I took a poor route to GZ. After I found the cache, I saw a much easier route back to the road. Thanks for hiding this. It is my first find in Australia!
After a work meeting I had decided to find caches with either at D/T of 3 or more. This one came up on my radar and I decided to squeeze in another cache for the day. It was a nice walk to GZ. I can imagine that GZ was more ordained in its earlier times. Found the cache easily. On my way back to my car a friend called so I talked to her, puffing and panting, as I was in a rush to get to my car, get home, and then get ready to go to the Channel 9 Telethon. TFTC! (I recently realised that I hadn't logged this one so am doing it today 30/6/17).
Found in the company of troobloo, while off on a little pre chrissy hunt.
Sorry the late (and crap) log, I need a good smack. Thanks for the fun

Yes, visiting the Gardens for the Japanese Cultural day today, so took the opportunity to do a little ninja caching, and sneak off to grab this one.
A LONG walk to go from the Japanese gardens to the GZ, but worth it to finally tick this D/T mix off my grid, and to see this interesting species. It looks like it has dropped some fruit lately.
Well, after reading the past couple of logs, I had a spare cache log in my pocket to replace if needed. Happy to say somebody had beaten me to it, and a page is still in the cache container ready and waiting for the next people. Got to love the caching community for helping others out.
Thanks to the CO for bringing me here.

Took my son and mum to the gardens today so I thought we would check this one out. I thought I was going in the wrong direction out of the gates of the gardens but then not far away we found this amusing cache. TFTC
