On of many, many DNFs today. Hints are pretty obvious but no luck today (that's two DNFs in a row)
No sunshine and no cache for me.
Coords lead me to the bench, had a look from every side and angle, widened the search area to the structure left of it, closer to the shore as well, under some rocks maybe, no, back to the bench. Couldn't find it.

Great view from this seating spot. A few muggles around but managed to grab and replace sneakily. TFTC
A really good place and for a cache too.

I'm here to put right my previous DNF and geez, I swear it wasn't here last time but I'll take the find! Thanks SoBad for the check-up and the hide.
2 visits to check it and both times people were settled in. It sounds like it has gone but we will be back to confirm.
Cache was there with a small temporary log placed and signed on March 5 by a cacher who has not yet logged on line. We put in a slightly bigger temporary log and will be back with a better log soon.
Doing a few caches around Nelson before heading for Christchurch tomorrow. We came down to the marina because it's always a favourite place for us to wander around. We found a container but there was no log. So we added a wee piece of paper. Hopefully we found the right container.
Thanks SoBad.
Thanks SoBad.
This was our last attempt at a cache before handing the rental car in and getting ready for our flight. We had begun our search when we were joined by abl1973. Lovely to meet you and chat. Sad our combined experience couldn't unlock the secret of this one. So we had to abandon the search to now rush to the airport. So this is another one for the DNF list on this trip, surprised really how hard caching was in the area. Not sure if they are super clever hides, or if they are gone...
I parked up and waited for a couple of people to move on but they didn't and took an interest in the very spot I came to checkout ... good to meet some additional cachers out in the wild. Unfortunately with our combined geocaching superpowers we could not find this one. Suspect it has gone. Thanks SoBad...cool location.
Out of DUNEDIN and headed to Nelson for a week. On a mission to tick off our 2000th cache on this trip.
Decided to spend the afternoon on Rabbit Island cycling around and caching as we go.
Busy when we arrived so tools stroll to next cache and fou d plscemuch quieter on return.
Almost there, this is find number 1980!

There was definitely sunshine this morning as I took some time to walk around this lovely city before leaving for Wellingon. T4tc
Today was Wellington Anniversary so a Public Holiday for those of us unfortunate enough to work in the Capital, but a good excuse for a longer weekend in Nelson. Tregearp and I had visited for this one several times previously, but between tourists, fishers and wind surfers we'd relinquished and turned away rather than compromise the hide.
Today was the day however - over the weekend we'd worked out what time would work best and were not disappointed. A quick find in the end with all in good order. Thanks the SoBads for another cache.

No shortage of sunshine and given our perserverence muggle central. Today SJT_NZ was on holiday so met him for a somewhat windy lunch catch up and finally logged the little beggar, all in good order.
On our way South we also stopped in Nelson. This stop was mainly driven by the cyclone Gita which forced us to stay an additional night here.
The day after we discovered the area of Nelson. This cache was one of the founds.

Interesting situation re the enable. It involved police, a fisherperson, people eating icecream nearby, a foreign tourist, a wrong sized replacement with us , a dropped container..... not all at the same time. But the cache is back in action and lovely in the sunshine here today - all three times.
My first cache in New Zealand and what a beautiful spot for it to be in the gorgeous sunshine. Log is almost full, left my mark as best as I could just B79 and the date. TFTC
what a lovely day in nelson.....
i found this cache during my trip in new zealand.

On our South Island road trip to Dunedin. Stopped off in Nelson. It was clear as we approached this cache that some girls were sitting on it. However, they were German so, after some thought, we approached them and asked if they had heard of geocaching. We explained and we're able quickly grab and sign the cache. The log is full, by the way, and hopefully we have some new geocachers. TFTC.
Down in Nelson for a 10 day holiday and one of our annual big treks in the wilderness somewhere in NZ. A nice walk here to locate the cache. Initially had too bypass it as too many muggles nearby but on return we soon had the cache snaffled.
Biking round the port, added caching to the trip. Quick and easy.A lovely spot even tho no sunshine. Tftc

Had some lunch then headed out again for more smilies. Another place where I thought there had once been a gate. Found cache nice and quickly but had trouble getting a pen (tried 3) to work on log paper so names are a bit illiterate. tftc
Working in Nelson for a few days and managed to slip away and take a walk, sit and think, and grab the cache. Quite a few people around when I arrived but all gone after my walk.
TFTC,
Wanted to grab this 3 days ago but there was someone sat admiring the view. Returned this afternoon and soon had it in our grasp.
A lovely spot.

There were a few anglers having a crack here today, but hint directed us to the likely spot, and with their backs turned we made the grab with no issues. What had started as an intermittently rainy day had fined up beautifully, so great views from here. TFTC SoBad.
Day one of a weekend in Nelson for a spot of caching and other stuff. Got into town early, checked out the Saturday market (a little less vibrant than other times I have been there - guess it is still winter though), a little retail therapy at my favourite bookshop, then into some caches. Just 15 for the day, a few DNFs, multis half solved but not completed for various reasons, so not that successful on that front. But we visited a number of fine dining establishments throughout the day so pretty happy with things overall . Thanks to all the COs for their caches.

Wow - tricky! Took us a while but beautiful Nelson day kept distracting us! Haven't come this far down the marina and great bike ride from other cache with kids.
Was a cold wet winter day, so nobody around to interrupt our search. Thanks to the clues it didn't take long. Thanks for giving us a reason to walk down here, haven't been this far down the reclamation for years
Another quick easy find it was lovely and calm out in the bay.It was nice to sit and take it in while signing the log .Tftc SoBad
Ooooooh sneaky! Our first nano, so didnt know what to expect. Another outstanding Nelson day.... think we might stay and enjoy the view! Thanks.
Spent a while watching a beautiful sunset, and decided to check for a cache nearby, voila! locate sign return -
SisterCorny travelling Asia and Oceania for four month, now in New Zealand.
Having arrived from Picton in the afternoon, we made a little stroll around the northern town to find some caches before having dinner.
After two mugggles left, we sat in the sunshine (yes!) and found the cache easily. TFTC

The birds must like the sunshine - they have left many deposits on the seat so we chose to make the find and stand to sign. It was all quiet around here while we signed the log - we went and found another one and as we walked back to here there were two men at GZ exploring a new fishing rod (the tide was out) so not sure what they were hoping to catch. We said to each other - well that was good timing. Liked the idea of the fishing rod stands that have been donated for when the tide is in tftc
Wow so tiny lol too dark to see if there was a log out not and freedom campus in the area!
Quick find while we stopped for a picnic lunch on a day out in Nelson. Log needs replacing. Thanks for the cache
Nice, clever hide with plenty of sunshine & surprisingly, no muggles. Signed TS

A flying visit to Nelson to check out the Buskers Festival. A marvellous event and the added bonus of a chance to knock off a few of the great caches over this way
Got the nearby 'Sailing' cache a long time a go as 'newbie' cachers but this one was beyond us that day. Today however, with keener caching eyes, this was a breeze (literally) TFTC.

Out and about on this rainy day and we went into Nelson to grab a gelato and have drive around. We haven't been up here before and went for a cache or two. A few fisher people were doing there thing as we made the find.
Thanks for the cache SoBad.
