Second cache along our afternoon coastal walk, was treated to some spectacular birdlife along the path to this one. Took a while to locate the cache, well hidden, but as always; trust the coordinates. After replacing the cache, a magpie and a goanna picked a fight. We think the magpie came out on top.
Tftc. The container was found easily but pulling on the wire and it came away from tube. Very corroded. Will need a new attachment. Put it back in its position.

After a few years nibbling around the edges, we decided we needed to complete the fantastic Coastal Walk today. We were dropped off at the lighthouse, and walked up to John Downes Park.
We dropped in at the published coordinates yesterday, so had this one pre-solved for today.
There were a bunch of muggles not far from GZ, but as we approached they all moved off, for once. We followed the GPS, spotted Steve, then Samuel spotted the cache, hidden? in plain sight!
TFTC!

Solved this one and made our way along the beach before we arrived at GZ, after a bit of searching the area, we checked the hint, which led to nothing. After a bit of searching the area for the container, I put my hand in a spot I hadn't checked yet, and after a bit of digging through the sand I found the cache, SL and rehid it, not buried this time

Took us a while especially with the amount of muggles around but we weren’t giving up after walking this far tftc

We decided to take on this part of the coastal walk early on a beautiful morning. The coordinates were quickly calculated and then we set off on the beautiful trail. We spotted a monitor lizard on our way down. It took us a while to locate the well hidden container. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find. FP awarded.

Found today after a little bit of help from the CO, and a DNF yesterday. I must be blind. TFTC
Took a little bit of searching to find even though it was sort of hidden how we expected it to be hidden.
Coords great for us too
Lovrly stroll

Love this beach albeit a few nudie people around. Kids weren't phased seeing them. So happy for the find TFTC. We are attempting several caches along the coastal walk... this was our second find for the day.
Beautiful walk along the coast this morning. Lots of active whales. Love living in Port Macquarie! Thanks for this series
Found at 12:21:00 PM
Two from two. Gotta be happy with this. The coordinates were spot on which made finding the cache easy.
Thanks LHBfans

Found with SJG66 on a 4 day stay in PMQ, today we walked the coastal walk from Tacking Point back to the breakwall where we were staying. Thanks to all the CO's who have placed and maintained caches in this area, it made our stay very enjoyable.
Another lovely section on this coastal walk "Sneaky" is an understatement for this hideout. It took at least 20 minutes to find despite spot on coords
Admittedly a non-exhaustive search today as Geokids 3 and 5 had been walking for over 5km but no luck. Close to home, will be back!
An early start and no problem gather the info which plotted to a likely spot. We saw a goanna at the start who slowly moved off. A few locations to divert our eyes along the beach and then onto GZ where we took too long to make the find. We added our initials and re hid. TFTC.
Well that was an adventure! We are visiting Port Macquarie on our Brizzy to Victoria road and this morning decided to walk from Tacking Point Lighthouse. It was very windy but we held onto our hats and made our way along the lovely coastline.
We made it to the first waypoint, gathered the appropriate info and were about to head off to GZ when it started to rain. Bummer! Dripping, we headed back to the car and drove to a more suitable location to get to the final. We’d encountered some other cachers out and about this morning and they had said to us that this one was tricky - I had other words for it after searching for about half an hour!
I had a bit of an idea of what to look for and I certainly wanted to find it sooner rather than later - my phone battery was down to 7% and rapidly losing power. My muggle friend Narelle and I looked EVERYWHERE. A passing muggle even asked if we were okay but we said we were fine. I was about to give up, when I noticed something that made me very happy. Within 2 seconds I had the sneaky cache in my hand. Phew!
I loved the location and frustration of this cache. TFTC LHBfans and for bringing us to a lovely spot

It took a while until I could find the little cache... It's a nice hinding place. Thanks a lot for the cache!
In Port for a holiday and the little one went back to the accommadation with nan and pop for a nap. So the wife and i went to find a few caches in this area and go for some walks along the coastal track. I left the wife at a nearby seat and i continued onto this one. A quick find considering the number of hiding palces it could have been. TFTC
Had to backtrack a bit because of Geodad being overconfident, but lucky it's a nice section to walk twice. Enjoying this series alot.
We have travelled up from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Port Macquarie for our annual summer holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback camper trailer at the Breakwall (Sundowner) Holiday Park. Today we went for a drive down to Lake Cathie and returned via Lighthouse Beach, collecting caches in the areas we passed through along the way. This was our 21st find of the day, and 92nd find of the holiday.
After gathering the required info from WP1 we set off along the walking track toward GZ. This was one of the longer stretches of the coastal walkway we have traversed and it covered various terrain types including some steep climbs and a sandy beach.
Arrived at GZ and started the search. Looked in various spots before spotting the hide and having CIH. Signed the log sheet then replaced as found. And with CW2A now done it only leaves CW9 left to complete the series. TFTC LHBfans.

After two years of searching each time we come to Port Macquarie for our holidays I finally found this cache. There was no whale carcass here but high risk of white pointers. In the end it was a little disappointing as it eas lying out in full sight. Buried again for next cachers enjoyment. Thanks for this cache and the challenge it has been over the last 3 annual visits to Port. Now to continue the rest of the series...
Have had the coords for this one for a while but never had the time. So coords in the phone and headed off towards the cache the beach was very empty only people walking as there was a increased risk of sharks in the area due to a recently beached whale. Cache was a good find and with a quick climb of a nearby rock found a sleeping snake on top and backed out carefully so as not to disturb then just the slow walk home TFTC
More difficult than it should have been, found it eventually, enjoyable walk...TFTC
We are currently on a break from winter in Victoria and have taken the opportunity to check out lots of lovely places on the north coast of NSW. We got as far north as Coffs Harbour before turning for our very leisurely drive back home, stopping every 50 km or so and taking the opportunity to grab as many caches as possible as we go. The beautiful warm weather has returned after a few cool and windy days.
This section of the Coastal Trail was different to the first, but no less spectacular today. The scenery was outstanding but the whales were putting on a show with breaching and fluking. Even more could be seen blowing! Then we saw a big bluetongue lizard sunning itself on the track.
We reached GZ and began to search in all the typical places but it was Mrs SKI who spotted it and was able to retrieve it from the boardwalk. A very well camoed cache.
On to the next!

This was one of many coastal walk multis we had worked out already but had not got the time or weather to make the walk to, but today we cleared up all our solved walks and grabbed a few others on the way too. A lovely walk around the headland to this secluded beach. Picturesque coastlines again. TFTC. A quick find.
In the company of pprass, we just got back from doing the new caches around Laurieton, bonny Hills and Kempsey. I thought, why we are on a roll I might as well do this multi, the last one I needed. Yippee, I have now finished all of the coastal walk caches. Great series of caches, TFTC LHBfans it's only taken me nearly two years to do it haha.
On a nice afternoon after a rainy morning I did this one. As I was expecting more rain, I had the car with me and decided to grab it from the other side. TFTC
An afternoon walk along the coast picking up a few caches and some great views.
Was a bit concerned over the distance to this one but the sums worked out. At GZ F spotted it first.
Good to add a mult to my finds
Thanks for hiding here

Nice beach walk to reach this one. Located the sneaky hide after a short search. Thanks for the cache.
Once again in Port Macquarie and attempted to find this cache. Over an hour searching on two occasions but this one has eluded me again. Coordinates check out but the cache is very well hidden. Have to wait another 18 months till I'm back this way again!
Very clever cache in a great location. Although we had to time our visit (with a 9 year old ) to avoid any wrinkly surprises
We did a maintenance run along the Coastal Walk series today. Log replaced here and all good to go.
The lovely walk continues. Less trouble with the maths on this one. Found by the smallest M in our team. Time for lunch! Where are those whales hiding?...
Good starting for a 9 km morning walk.
Weather seems to have cleared out and dried out most of the walk.
Cheers

Thought I was Robinson Crusoe as en didn't work, had to scratch name on last page, log needs replacing as seems full, tftc and the auto sum
Cache location was being well guarded by a sunbather of the minimally clad type. Hopefully will get time to try again
Gps not working. Searched high n low easy peasy when i found it tftc. Sandy all over lol
TFTC,easy find, good spot, i walk along here often, wearing at least shorts i might add. Another camo bison tube, just like my 5 hidden around Port Mac, we have the same taste in cache's.
I'm on holidays here in Port and this morning, decided to head down to Shelley Beach to do the Miners Beach section of the CO's Coastal Walk series before it got too warm. And I must say it was a very pleasant walk up and over the hill and along the beach. Stopping for #2B along the way, I saw there was just one naturist doing his thing on the beach below, so was then able to traverse the beach below without any uncomfortable moments. Once at GZ, a short systematic search of the area soon revealed the cache hidden away in much the fashion I had expected after taking advantage of the hint.
Thanks for the walk LHBfans and for placing caches here in beautiful surrounds.

I forgot to put in my log that the sign headed "Miners Beach Warning" near the posted coordinates is no longer concealed by vegetation and can clearly be seen. I guess NPWS has recently done a bit of clearing at the beginning of the track.
The original approval for the placement of this cache in the Sea Acres National park was extended by NPWS on 11 Jan 2016 and is valid for 5 years until 12 Jan 2021.
Another great walk and more awesome views! Kids loved climbing on the rocks and exploring. Only saw a few "naturalists" on the beaches...
Initially we didn't add one of our numbers correctly and pointed to an area which didn't seem quite right - checked our sums and realised the error. After a small search we made the find! Thanks again!!

Had the co-ords for this one worked out at home from photos we had taken of the signs, as we weren't quite sure which one was the right one.Enjoyed the puzzle and the adventure of finding the actual cache, glorious day in Port and wonderful ocean views, thanks for another great cache in this series.
We checked out this cache today and it is still nicely in place despite three recent DNFs. Maybe the data was not collected correctly as the sign to be inspected has become a little overgrown. The instructions have been changed to make it clearer which sign you are to find. I have also added checksum information and recommend you do the calculation at the start of the track, and verify your calculation of the final coordinates against the checksum, to avoid disappointment later.
After working on Pprass's new caravan for the last 2 days, he took us out to find
some caches in the area.
Found the information, did the calculations, and enjoyed the walk to the cache.
Located the cache, after a short search.
Many thanks for placing this cache, LHBfans, for us and others to find.

This is the second day of our holiday in Port Macquarie and with a cool day forecast, we decided to tackle a few of the nearby multis with the odd traditional thrown into the mix. We spent the day mostly walking along part of the coastal track, before finishing off the afternoon at the Koala Hospital and Roto House.
We had bit of a maths failure initially but soon realised our mistake when our GPS pointed us toward the middle of the dunes. After checking our numbers and then realising there was a checksum on the page, we soon had the error amended and continued to the real ground zero. Once at the correct location we spied the tell tale sign almost immediately. All was good with the cache. Thank you for having placed the cache LHBfans

Found with earthly65 and brad1987 on our caching long weekend in Port Macquarie....TFTC
Day 2 of our caching weekend in Port. Found with earthly and robbieracer. Spotted really quickly after our stoll across the nudist beach
After a bit of searching we found it! Beautiful walk down to the beach on both ends of the trail, be prepared for a walk!

Hi there LHBfans. We found your cache "Coastal Walk #2A: Miners Beach South" at 9:31:00 AM today,. This cache makes our find count 9904.

We are trying to log at least one cache every day, so we can add to our streak of "Most Consecutive Days Cached", which we started on New Years Day 2014. Our route today took us to and past some really wonderful & scenic locations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trek today. (Please excuse our boilerplate logs though.)
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Whew near the end of this lovely walk. Got muggled by a British tourist while we were collecting the information. He hung around to find out what we were up to so we had a good chat. The co-0rds weren't leading us nowhere useful, so after a while we said we were giving up and he left. One last go with the GPS back in the pocket and using caching instincts we found it. Geopartner had had his hand on the cache earlier, but didn't tug hard enough. Loving this walk. Thanx
Re did the maths after contacting the C.O & headed down to my newly calculated GZ & made a quick find, co-ords were spot on, last time it was simply a case of me stuffing up the maths (silly me). Nonetheless this is a really good hide, it took a few minutes to find the cleverly hidden cache & the clue made perfect sense.

Did the maths after finding the required info & went to my calculated GZ but no luck, maybe I had a bit of "cache blindness" today. Loving the walk to all these caches along the coast.
Cheers from CATONY.

This year we have a long winter holiday when we are travelling in the Pacific. We are doing sightseeing and geocaching. Now we will spend a six week period in Australia where we will drive from Melbourne to Murray Bridge and then via Grampians to Canberra, Sidney and Brisbane.
While staying in Port Macquarie for some days we decdied to do the Coastal Walk today. We started from our motel at 7.15 in the morning. We took the bus to Lighthouse Beach. The start was not good, we went off the bus too early and then took the wrong way. Finally we were at the start of the walk and for the cache serie. It was a beautiful walk with lot of really great views. We liked the first part of the walk best with all the amazing beaches and the sound of the ocean while walking. It took us 9 hours slowly walk including breaks before we were "home" again. We logged all the caches in the Coastal Walk serie and also a few other along the way. It was a sunny day with clear blue sky but in the sun it was too hot.
We liked the serie where some of the caches gave us brain excercise and some of them gave us a hard work when searching for the cache. Some of the hints were brilliant. We give the caches we liked best a fp. However we think that the D-rating is a bit low for some of the best camo caches.
Sorry for the copy and paste log.
Thanks for a great serie. Greetings from Sweden / Geparderna

We have tired to find this one a couple of things but every time we went for the cache container we have encountered a man with his jewels on display.
Today there were a lot of walkers but all were dressed.
Thanks LHBfans loved the view the water looked great

Always excited to find the cache and this was another clever urban style one. TFTC!
After working out the co-ordinates the day before on a way back from the Lighthouse, I attempted this with Phatt.
Low cloud, blustery conditions, muggles wandering through, dark coming on and a GPS that was saying 6m in all directions, we had to give it away for the day. It was pretty dark anyway when we got back to the vehicle.
We will be back to attempt this another day when there is a little more daylight.

Another day,
another caching expedition
This time by foot !!
Yes dear readers, I have abandoned the push bike in favour of shanks pony to mop up some unfound caches
This bit of the Coastal Walk is a bit less muggly than the rest, but the sort of muggles you meet are a bit more eclectic than at the other caches in the series.
Along this lonely stretch of beach and headlands, it seems that there are way too many male muggles in their 'forties' or 'fifties' who for some reason or another have to congregate here and wander around naked [:o]
Well that at least explains the warning signs at the ends of the walk about calling the police about harassment on the walk [:o]
Trying hard to ignore the weirdo wandering past I continued my search for the cache at GZ.
Damned if I could find it [:o]
I persisted and between the random passings of muggles with their clothes on, I finally spotted the all too obvious cache
Cache blindness strikes again !!
TFTC and excuse to wander along the spectacular Port Macquarie coastline [^]

Effective 1 October, the caches in the Coastal Walk series will be renumbered. #1 remains the same; #2A is now just #2; #2B is now #3 and old #3 to old #9 become new #4 to new #10 respectively. I mention this so that if you are relying on posts made by previous cachers for information, the numbering they wrote about may be one off. I’m going through tidying up all the cache descriptions too, just to keep them fresh. Happy hunting.
Ok this tool way longer then it should've don't realise the minutes were going to change in this series... 20min search with little reception and we finally got it!! 2 down
A lovely early morning walk for us. Enjoyed watching a whale too. Bit tricky but we came up with the goods in the end. Even at 6 am there was a steady flow of muggles passing as we looked! TFTC and lovely walk...eatmorchikin & Stigglepot, Brisbane
Nobody around the whole area, we felt like Robinson Crusoe ... until the jet boat of thrill seekers shot across the water. TFTC LHBfans
1000 GAFF3 Had me 'going there' for a while. Glad I had the cache sheet with me. (And as mentioned on #2B, which I got before this one, HIGH tide can make a difference in the access.
I was a bit distracted while looking for this, as there was a very friendly wolf spider, who was playing 'Tag, you're it!' with the stick I was using to poke in different corners. Gave me quite a fright the first time he lunged at it
