On a little roadie south from Tauranga to visit my daughter. Lovely stroll around the area today. Many thanks for bringing me here.
On a Sunday drive up the coast with Heihei to collect Macfam41s new caches.Easily found an official access route. Quickly spotted the cache, on the other side of the river from a number of white-baiting muggles.*I like bouncing, boing, boing, boing**Up and down until I get a pain in my groin**Try to be happy, and when it really counts**Turn into a rubber ball and bounce bounce bounce!*
I remember the day he got injured quite vividly. He had come into our cafe with a few of the team and got a coffee, then a couple of hours later was out of the cup. We jokingly felt partially responsible - was the coffee too strong? Too weak? I guess we will never know!Anyway, onto the cache. I had noticed on satellite view that there was a path leading all the way to the cache, so I took that option. I came prepared with gumboots after all the rain of the last couple of days, just as well as there was still a lot of the track flooded. Once near GZ, the mud at the rivers edge almost flowed over the top of them!Cache was a quick find, still protected by its log. Strangely, the container seemed to belong to the Zealandia power trail (photo attached)? Seems the replacement throw down was swiped from there!?A lovely walk was had, despite the slosh and drizzle. Thanks TNXPro and now TrinityNZ 1111
Having spent the weekend up in Wanganui preparing the family house for sale, it was once again time to make my way back home to Wellington. As usual, I stopped for a few Geocaches along the way (eighteen of them as it happens), and this was one of them.I seem to be spending a lot of time finding Geocaches in the Kapiti region lately, and yet there are always more and more to find. I had been meaning to go for a Geocaching walk in this Estuary area for some time, and today was finally the time. I did have some trouble figuring out how to get to this Geocache, and actually I'm still not sure what the correct way is, as there is no track marked and no trailhead waypoint. I initially tried to walk along the rivers edge from the south-east, but that was a no go. So then I tried from the south-west, but there were signs saying I wasn't allowed to (at least I think they did, I didn't have my glasses with me so I couldn't actually read them). In the end I got as close as I could and then made a little off-track excursion, which is also not allowed but I was really careful. Once I got to the location I found the cache no problem, but still couldn't find a track to get out so ended up going back the way I came. ---Thanks to TrinityNZ for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
I was checking out the estuary for a caching ramble with my granddaughter. Figured this one would be step too far so I better claim myself. No pen! Photo supplied as requested
School holidays and it was raining, no, pouring! As soon as the weather cleared up we decided to leave the house. Not much time left before dinner so some local caches were needed. Geo-kid and mum had been exploring this area before and nearly finished the AdLab, too so it's a good spot to come back to and get the last few smileys up. This cache we avoided last time as we weren't sure how to even get close to GZ and wading through the river with toxic algae was a no go for me. Today however we accessed from further down and walked along the river upstream. Easy find once at GZ thanks to hint! branch still there and all in perfect order. Log signed, TNLN TFTC
Took a while but it really was THAT rock, albeit opposite side to hint to my Ming - the stick mentioned in a previous log was still there!
Trouve ! / Found it ! Une nouvelle bote a t replace avec l'accord du propritaire. Elle correspond l'indice et au point GPS.A new box was replaced with the agreement of the owner. It corresponds to the index and the GPS point.
Wandered over here today, enjoyed seeing the whitebaiters but no cache found. Lots of gorse around the rocks and sea debris from the tides. May need checking. Message sent to CO
I had a good look around for this one. Pretty quickly found a good spot that matched the hint, but even after a good rummage I couldn’t it
Easy find coming from the path and a nice moody arvo various avian friends passing by. Tftc
On a Geocaching mission today with Geeves90 and Kimmy+co. And for once Geeves was totally on the mark when we off following the coordinates.

At the last cache Hayzz asked if we were getting this one, I think she might be sick.
I would like it noted I followed directions perfectly and got my lefts and rights correct so I had cache in hand as soon as I had tied my shoes

A lovely walk ending looking out over the spit to Kapiti Island - cache location prime real estate! Shame about the strong sewage smell
Hint helped make this a smooth find, now all tucked away again.
On the way back passed a Stilt in the shallows shrilling out while spearing wee fish for its dinner. Then near start of the trail a large family of skittish quails crossed my path (lost count at 14). Really enjoyed this meander. TFTC TrInityNZ

I took the long way to the cache (as I was in the area) and made it difficult for myself by looking in the wrong spot (having not trusted the phone GPS). Eventually got myself in the right location and finally saw what was alluded to in the hint. Signed and replaced (and grabbed the pathtag), and headed back via a different path. All good here, and TFTC.
Found with charlesmarbles. Quick and easy find despite a muggle hanging around nearby. TFTC
Sneaky find with alextnz! Noticed it out of the corner of my eye while we were trying to evade some muggle presence.
Cache replaced with a brand new log and container, possibly not in the same spot, so hint to be updated.
Temporarily disabled while I seek a willing volunteer to replace cache for me.
Also open for adoption, as its unfair relying on helpers while I live so far away.

Sadly searched for ages around all the high hit items that weren't engulfed by gorse..not luck..I can't see any reason why it should go missing possibly high tide as there is evidence of this
Out walking with my twenty-something son who climbed up here and had a good look around.
Put with KTG. After searching for over 30 mins we didn't find anything. So sad....
I have over look logging this one when I was in Paraparaumu for a tenpin bowling tournament, after my game, I popped out to Scientific Reserve to get some caches. Thanks TNXPro for the cache.
A nice day for a walk down here from Otaihanga, the moderate southerly helped to keep things at a comfortable temperature and wasn't as bad as Wellington!
It was definitely not suitable for accessing the cache from across the river unless you can walk on water!
No issues with gorse on the tracks I used or impeding access to the cache. It is possible that some clearing has been done as there are signs on the main track indicating that a lot of blackberry and gorse is being cleared.
On one of the minor tracks getting to GZ there was quite a big pool of water but as there was an alternative track which was dry it wasn't an issue.
A quick find, the spoiler photo was helpful. The only difficulty I had was that though I am quite fit for my age, I am not quite as agile as I once was!
A bit of a trek to get here but worth it.
TFTC and also for my first find to qualify towards the Solar Wonders souvenir.

Checked up on this cache and found it safe and sound and good condition. . I'm surprised at how overgrown the track has become and looks like the gorse is threatening GZ.
Added a spoiler pic of the location.

No luck for despite it seemingly obvious where to look based on satellite images and the hint itself. I imagine it is still there and we were just not on our game today.
Found with matagouri on a Labour Day caching trip. Lots of whitebaiters about. Tftc.
Out with TharntheHalken, winding up a good day with a ramble around the estuary. All good at GZ. Tftc!
Note to self. Highest does not equal largest. Got distracted and dig around unsuccessfully for a while before engaging brain and looking in the right place. Nice sized cache! A beautiful spot in the late afternoon. TFTC
Due to Covid19, and to encourage people to "stay at home" to prevent spreading the virus, I am joining others in temporarily disabling my caches. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THIS CACHE.
Found this on a deviation from my Waikanae to Paekakariki cycle ride.
Geo traces a little grown over, but we got there. Cache dry & in good order.
Another beautiful day on the sunny Kapiti coast. A few people on the north bank but I have the south to myself.
Thanks

It's been just over 2 years since my DNF here and it turned that the cache was missing back then. I came back here on a glorious Spring day thanks to some new caches to make the trip worthwhile. I only really looked in one small area where the GPS said to look and although it took me a couple of minutes to find I did not have to widen my search. Good to finally turn this into a smiley although the location is certainly worth visiting twice. TFTC.
Midweek walk to find this cache. Whitebaiters our on the river. Moody weather - photo attached as requested. Thanks for the cache - I might not have followed this path out to the river mouth otherwise.
Today had been forecast to bit a bit wet, but when I woke it looked as if any rain might hold off for a few hours so I reckoned that was a good enough reason to jump in the car and come down to Paraparaumu to try to boost my numbers for September!
I've been slowly chipping away over the last couple of years at the large number of available caches in and around Paraparaumu, and there are a lot less available to me now. But the publication earlier this week of 2 new caches along this walkway made me decide to come out this way today and try for all of them.
It was a really nice walk to GZ. I've never been here before so I took my time and made the most of having the pathway to myself. There seemed to be quite a few people on the other side of the rivermouth, but few on this side. Once I got to GZ, the Hint instantly made sense to me, so it was just a case of estimating which one, and taking a look.
I got it right on my second guess. There were a few bugs trying to make themselves a home on the container, but otherwise all was fine with it. The logbook was damp, but serviceable. With my entry made, everything was replaced exactly as found before I headed back the way I had come.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Mrs Rattll found herself with a couple of days free, so decided to stay over night and explore the area a little more, which was great because it meant I finally had enough time to pick up some multi's and other caches that have been on the to-do list for a while now.
I headed out fairly early, and really enjoyed my stroll to GZ. There were quite a few muggles coming and going, and although there was no one at GZ, there were a few muggles directly across the river, so I took some photo's and had a bit of a relax in the sun until they moved on. Then it was a quick search around the more obvious spots, and the cache was soon in hand, although signing the log was a bit tricky with the sea breeze.
Thanks for setting this up TNXPro. I left a pet rock - a grey seal

Quick find today in a beautiful location. Thanks for bringing us here. Low tide so plenty to walk over and look at. High tide especially in winter could be quite dramatic. Found some plastic litter and a couple of bits of broken glass; would have brought a bag if I'd known. Maybe the rocks at this headland catch waterborne debris but some was above high tide too. Thanks for the cache.
#6569. I was up on the Kapiti coast this weekend as I had some visitors over from Norway and they were keen to see the wonderful birdlife on Kapiti Island and learn more about the conservation successes on the island. So we did an overnight trip (1 kiwi seen) but opted to come off on one of the earlier boat trips as we had done what we needed to do on Saturday. So had a few extra hours on hand and decided to use them by doing a few multi caches and any nearby traditionals. Lovely fine, sunny and hot day up here on the retirement coast. Lots of blackberries along these paths with plenty of ripe fruit. Had a good feed working my way to this cache. Meandered along a few narrow side paths to the river and then down another to the estuary. Reached the GZ and soon spied the likely hiding spot. Nice quick find. The logbook has got a bit damp already but still OK to sign. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks TNXPro for the cache.
Found by biking here. All the tracks were OK, just one puddle. It was soon found using the hint and the contents are clean and dry. I wished I had taken a photo after reading the owner's request. It was a beautiful view on a this late afternoon and people were enjoying the river on the other side. A favourite for this adventure, thanks TNXPro!
Stunning evening for a walk to the groin. Beautiful golden red sunset . Able to sit and admire from a nice rock (and grab a cache). Able to claim 1010m for the DGSc distance challenge. Thanks for the cache.
A lovely day to be out at the groin taking the scenery. There a number of whitebaiters on both banks.
+ a marble, - nothing.

On the way to the Mega 2018, while travelling with Philip.Perry.
It was a stunning evening and I was doing a maintenance run on my caches once P.P found them.
I noted the sun was setting, so we hastily made our way to this cache and arrived at just the right time. The sunset was amazing!
A few pics later... and I can confirm this cache is still good.
Have many memories at this river mouth. I miss this beautiful place.

It’s Day 1 of our 2018 WENZ MEGA crusade and Team BOP are on their way to Wellington.
We organised to spend the night in Waikanae - TNXPros old stomping ground and me being the kind, selfless friend that I am - have made myself available to accompany TNXPro on a maintenance run of his caches.
This turned into a bit of a race where the sun was setting and TNX knew this was the cache you'd want to watch it from. Good pace put us right on time for some amazing photos, the cache on the other hand I struggled with. In the end it was a good thing I was with the CO as I may have been a while. Cheers and TFTC.

Quickish find, think Beauden could have done with a bit of Dan’s touch last weekend... TFTC
Heading down to Paraparaumu this afternoon stopped to get this one and a few others on the coast.
Enjoyed the quick stroll to this one.

what a beautiful location on a stunning autumn day, I'm the first to sign the replacement book, sat here for a while enjoying the view and taking some photos of Yak the Duck, noted another travel bug waiting for a new home, not quite enough room in the cache to leave Yak here, tempted to take the special lanyard but left as i didn't have anything to swap
In the area so popped by and swapped TBs. Cache survived monster tides over the last couple of days so should be safe here.
I’ve already found this cache so this note is just to allow me to log a trackable dropoff using Cachly.
Thanks you very much Bunkshyde for replacing the cache. Its a wonderful place for a cache and I miss that view, so thanks for posting the beautiful photo also.
Have searched everywhere around GZ but I think this cache may have washed away in a King Tide mid last year.
I have placed a new cache at GZ well above the normal high tide/flood line so hopefully it will stay in place.
New container 250ml Sistema, new logbook and some cool swag.
Also dropped off a trackable!

Searched for a while, lots of spider webs in the all the possible places! Kapiti is looking good
With no real hint and about 100 places to hide something I gave up after about 10 mins.
A beautiful spring day on the coast - a day off work, grandkids off school so off we went on an adventure. After walking down the Waikanae side of the river, spending some time on the beach in the river and sea, we decided we should cross the river and look for this cache (the tide was low). The river was freezing and close to the middle we started sinking in the mud type sand - the geokids got wet up to their waists! On the other side they tackled and beat a 3 headed octopus before we headed to the area where the cache was hidden. We searched everywhere, up and down the rocks, in the bushes and along the track, but couldn't find it anywhere - maybe we lost all our energy fighting the octopus
We'll be back during the summer to look for this again.

Some interesting little tracks in these parts, and interesting views too. Cache found in good condition and I enjoyed the walk to it.

Found it the second time round. A lovely Saturday afternoon with just a light breeze.!
Went to visit here today. Glad we found it as a number of people before us were DNF. Dropped off my trackable.
